Miami Heat vs. San Antonio Spurs Preview
The Heat were embarrassed in Game 3 losing by 36 points and they are down 2-1 in this series. LeBron James only had 15 points in Game 3 and the Heat failed to play much D on the Spurs with their own offense sputtered. NBA lines have this game as even, pickem, with a total of 186.5.
In Game 3 the Spurs beat the Heat 113-77.
On the season the Heat are 56-45 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 50-48-3 and the Spurs are 51-46-2 ATS and they have an Over/Under record of 44-53-2.
This season the Spurs are 42-7 at home and the Heat are 34-15 on the road.
In Game 3 the Heat were only down 6 at halftime, but in the 2nd half the Spurs outscored them 53-23.
The Heat only shot 40.8% in Game 3 with only the Big 3 scoring in double figures. Kawhi Leonard played stellar defense on King James and he has to break out in this game and be THE guy for the Heat to get back and tie this series.
The Heat have to play better perimeter D tonight, as in Game 3 the Spurs drained 16 of their 32 3-pointers. Danny Green has been solid in this series and he was the high scorer in Game 3 with 27 points and was 7 for 9 beyond the 3-point arc.
The Heat had 16 turnovers in Game 3 and only scored 32 points in the paint. Miami needs to hold onto the rock and get better shots inside and not settle for jumpers. Chris Bosh is playing too far away from the basket and while he is a good shooter he needs to mix it up inside and get closer to the basket and get some easy points from the free throw line.
The Heat have to play good D tonight, as their offense has not played well. For the series James is only shooting 38.9% from the field.
James, Chris Anderson, and Bosh have to do a better job on the glass tonight, as in Game 3 the Spurs pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
In some betting trends for this NBA finals match up the Heat are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 road games, 18-6 ATS in their last 24 games following a S.U. loss, and they have an Under record of 5-1 in their last 6 games.
The Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall, 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win, and they have an Over record of 4-0 in their last 4 home games.
Jason’s Pick: Even with the Spurs playing with a ton of confidence I think James will have a HUGE game tonight and the Heat will win.
