2013 NBA Betting – NBA Picks For Games On Friday, April 12
Game 1: Los Angeles Clippers @ New Orleans Hornets – Friday, April 12
Whether you want to become a betting agent or merely continue to join in the action at premier sports betting outlets across the country, you are going to find it hard to pick against the Clippers in this tilt. Los Angeles still has a lot of work to do just to get home-court advantage in the first round. The Clippers would love to get the third seed in the Western Conference, which would give them the ability to play Golden State or Houston in the first round instead of Memphis or Denver, a much easier draw. However, they’d settle for home-court advantage in a tough series, and in order to reach that goal, they have very little – if any – margin for error, since they trail both Denver and Memphis in the standings and would currently have to start the playoffs on the road. The urgency of the Clippers’ situation represents something less than a guarantee that they won’t let down their guard; there are no guarantees in life or sports. However, the incentives put before the Clippers should get them to play well and win. This is not a certainty, but it is a distinct probability. Take Los Angeles in this game and feel confident about your selection.
NBA Betting Pick: Los Angeles Clippers
Game 2: Memphis Grizzlies @ Houston Rockets – Friday, April 12
When immersed in the world of online sports betting, it’s generally recommended to go with the superior team, especially if it has a lot to play for. This is certainly the situation inhabited by Memphis as it prepares to face Houston. Memphis is currently in line to host the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, but the Grizzlies need to win a few more games to lock up home court. Moreover, Memphis is just behind Denver in the race for the precious third seed in the West, something that matters a great deal to the three teams fighting for it (the Clippers being the third). As long as the Grizzlies have a lot to gain with a victory, they should be able to produce a high level of performance. Their defense is disruptive and is very equipped to bother Houston in its halfcourt sets. The Rockets like to shoot threes, but Memphis has long-armed perimeter defenders who can close down on Houston’s shooters and make life miserable for the Rockets. Take the Grizzlies here on the road.
NBA Betting Pick: Memphis
Game 3: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Portland Trail Blazers – Friday, April 12
The contents of a 5dimes.com review will tell you that Oklahoma City is a much better team than Portland. That’s not a shock at all. What’s worth emphasizing here, though, is that Oklahoma City – because it is scrambling to get the top seed in the Western Conference – will not be inclined to get sloppy or lazy in this tilt. The Thunder should be able to focus on the task at hand and play authoritatively against a weak opponent that might not have Nicolas Batum, a capable scorer, in its starting lineup. Portland doesn’t figure to have the weapons needed to keep pace with Oklahoma City.
NBA Betting Pick: Oklahoma City
