NBA Predictions: Cavaliers vs. Bulls Picks
NBA betting action sees the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on the Chicago Bulls on Thursday, May 14th at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Cappers Picks provides free NBA handicapping tips all season long.
Cleveland and Chicago shift the series to inside the United Center as the Bulls look to avoid elimination in Game 6. Cleveland trailed 2-1 in the series and then saw Lebron James hit a buzzer beater in Game 4. Cleveland then followed up that performance with a Game 5 win to keep home court advantage as they never allowed the Bulls to get over the hump in the contest. Now Chicago and star PG Derrick Rose look to send this series to 7 games with a win in Game 6.

Cleveland sits just 1 game from a date in the Eastern Conference Finals as they look to steal Game 6 and avoid having to play a 7th game on Sunday in Cleveland. Lebron James has carried a majority of the load as of late, but in Game 5 he got some help from fellow injured point guard Kyrie Irving.
Irving dropped in 25 points in 39 minutes as he drilled three 3 pointers in the win. Kyrie Irving has made it public that he is far from 100% as he continues to battle multiple injuries to his right foot. If Irving can put in a performance in Game 6 like he did in Game 5, Cleveland could be well on their way to the Eastern Conference Finals.
Also contributing to the cause has been Iman Shumpert. The SG scored 13 points on 60% shooting from the field and continued his stellar defensive pressure that he was traded for back in January.
Lebron James was once again the highlight reel in Game 5 as he went for 38 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists in the win. He has been a man on a mission ever since the embarrassing Game 1 performance Cleveland had.
The Bulls had all the momentum following Derrick Rose’s Game 3 game winning bank shot. However, after Lebron stole home court advantage back from the Bulls, Chicago has lost all it’s swagger and now sits just 1 game away from staying at home, for good.
The good news for Chicago, they may have a near 100% Pau Gasol in the lineup on Thursday. Gasol has been a major difference maker this series, but he has missed the past two games, both Cleveland wins, with a hamstring injury. With the season on the line, Gasol has been cleared to play as he has felt no pain in his hamstring.
While Gasol’s presence will be a giant difference maker, Jimmy Butler’s Game 6 play could decide whether the series goes on or not. Butler has been guarding James, but picked up 2 quick fouls in Game 5 as he watched James go off from the bench.
Bulls F Taj Gibson may have costed his team any chance at coming back in Game 5 as he was ejected for kicking Matthew Dellavedova in the 4th quarter. His role remains giant as he has been backing up the injured Pau Gasol.
