Crucial Texas Road Swing
The Utah Jazz are moving through the state of Texas this week, and unfortunately for them, they’re in another state as well right now: a state of crisis.
Utah Jazz @ Dallas Mavericks – Sunday, March 24

Why Utah Will Win
No matter which bookies you do business with, the savvy sport betting player will give Utah a chance in this contest. The Jazz are playing for their playoff lives in this game, and that’s a powerful motivator in the second half of March, when the regular season finish line approaches. Utah is a poor road team – everyone in the NBA knows that – but when the final weeks of a season arrive and playoff-based desperation enters the picture, a team can take on a different mindset and play with a passion that had not existed before. This could very well be the way in which the Jazz evolve – not only in this game, but in the next few weeks.
Utah will be coming off a Friday night game (on March 22) against San Antonio. That game will probably result in a loss for the Jazz, meaning that head coach Ty Corbin’s team will view this game as even more of a must-win, thereby heightening Utah’s sense of determination and focus. Playing San Antonio generally represents a teaching tool for a young team such as the Jazz. The Utah roster will learn a lot from its film study after playing the Spurs. It can take the court with even more vigilance, understanding and tactical acuity. These are the kinds of things that enable a team to make adjustments and find ways to improve on the floor.
Why Dallas Will Win
When consulting betonline reviews, not only can you make a case for the Mavericks in this game; you’d be foolish not to pick them against the Jazz. Utah is such a train wreck on the road, standing at 10-24 entering Wednesday, March 20. The Jazz have really lost confidence in their abilities over the past few weeks. They’ve blown big leads (at Cleveland a few weeks ago) and they’ve been blown out (by 29 points against the New York Knicks on March 9).
They’ve lost because of their defense (giving up 113 points to New York in that same defeat), and they’ve lost because of their offense, as was the case this past Monday, March 18, in a 90-83 loss to the Knicks in Salt Lake City. The Jazz are immersed in a steady process of deterioration. Once several games over .500, the Jazz are perilously close to the break-even mark and could very possibly sport a losing record when they take the floor for this game in Dallas.
The Mavericks won’t be favored to win just because Utah is horrible on the road. The Mavericks have been legitimately good over the past two weeks, winning seven of 10 games and moving upward in the Western Conference standings. Dallas entered play on March 20 just two games behind the Jazz. There’s a very real possibility that the Mavs could leapfrog the Jazz in the standings on Sunday evening.
Who Will Win
It’s quite possible that the Jazz will put up a fight, but Utah is clearly trending in the wrong direction while Dallas has finally picked up its level of play and is rapidly improving. The Mavericks, at home, should be the clear choice here.
