2013 NBA Betting – Next Week’s Picks For Playoff Games On Monday, April 22
Eastern Conference First Round, Game 2:
Chicago Bulls @ Brooklyn Nets – Monday, April 22
Betting sports is often complicated, but in a playoff series, you can be just as situational in your thinking as you are during the regular season. Here’s what’s meant by that statement: In the regular season, NBA bettors will often look for the second end of a back-to-back stack of games on the road or some other dynamic in which one team is highly likely to lose. In the playoffs, back-to-back sets generally leave the picture, but there are still situations in which one team is more likely to win, simply because of the prevailing circumstances involved.
You don’t have to be an online sports betting genius in order to realize that this series between the Bulls and the Nets is likely to be the closest first-round clash in the Eastern Conference. Indiana should be able to beat Atlanta, and New York – though perhaps vulnerable to a slight extent – should be able to get past Boston as well. Miami should waltz past Milwaukee, leaving this as the one East first-round series in which a lot of professional basketball pundits are unsure of the ultimate outcome. There are convincing arguments to make in favor of both teams here. The Bulls have a better defense and are more experienced. The Nets are a better offensive team and are less affected by injuries. Here, though, is the key insight to make about Game 2 of this series on Monday night in Brooklyn: If you think that Chicago will win Game 1 – and the sense here is that Chicago probably will take that contest – you should then choose the Nets in your “next week” game pick. This is a long series, which means that Chicago will not sweep the first two games in Brooklyn. A split is the most likely outcome, so if the Bulls are your choice in Game 1, the Nets should even things out in Game 2.
NBA Betting Pick: Brooklyn
Western Conference First Round, Game 2:
Memphis Grizzlies @ Los Angeles Clippers – Monday, April 22
Any pay per head bookie service would likely tell you that while the Clippers should win this series, Memphis is not going to fade away quickly or easily. This has the makings of an extended series, not just because Memphis has two proven interior scorers in the persons of Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph, but because the Grizzlies improved themselves on defense in the middle of the season by acquiring Tayshaun Prince from Detroit.
When you plot out your next betting play by sifting through any collection of 5dimes reviews, you will realize that the Grizzlies, with Prince in the lineup, are even better on the perimeter as a defensive team. Prince will complement Tony Allen as a defensive stopper who can clog passing lanes and gum up the Clippers’ offense. Los Angeles figures to win Game 1 on Saturday, but in this rematch on Monday, Memphis should be able to punch back and affirm all predictions of a prolonged six- or seven-game duel.
NBA Betting Pick: Memphis
