The Predators squeaked out a 2-1 win in game 3 despite having 2 goals called back due to goaltender interference. The final score doesn’t tell the whole story, though, as Nashville carried the play for the large majority of the game.
A sharp angle goal from Corey Perry on the powerplay was the only goal that the Ducks could muster up in game 3. There were a couple close calls, but for the most part the Ducks were playing on the defensive side of the puck and chasing the Preds.
Should Anaheim wish to even the series, they will need another performance like they had in game 2. More shots will be necessary and a focus of the Ducks, are they only managed to fire 20 on net in game 3.
Nashville sent 40 shots on net in game 3, 38 of which John Gibson was able to stop in a strong effort. Gibson owns a 2.74 GAA and a .915 SV% through the 2017-18 playoffs, and will certainly look for his team to possess the puck more and get in the way of some shots directed at him.
Despite only netting two goals, the Predators looked strong in game 3 and controlled much of the game. The 2-1 win was a come-from-behind victory after Rinne allowed a sharp angle goal to Corey Perry late in the first.
Roman Josi was the game 2 hero, scoring the winner late in the 3rd period to help him team to victory. Josi directed 5 shots on net, which is great but it pales in comparison to the 9 that fellow defenseman, Ryan Ellis, registered.
Ryan Johansen had some harsh words for Ducks’ center, Ryan Kesler, after game 2. Johansen followed up with a strong performance in the faceoff circle at a 55% clip, most coming against Kesler.
Pekka Rinne has looked like a different goalie at home this postseason, yet to succumb to a loss while at Bridgestone Arena. He stopped 19 of the 20 shots he faced on Tuesday and will hope his team can put forth another effort like they did in game 3, where Nashville out shot Anaheim by a 2:1 margin.

Free Anaheim Ducks vs Nashville Predators NHL Playoff Prediction:
Considering how well Pekka Rinne has played at home, it hard to bet against him. I’m not going to be the one to do so, especially considering that Nashville has allowed more than one goal just one time of their six home games this postseason,
So to base my wager on their excellence at Bridgestone, I’ll take the under, as the Preds are too heavy of a favorite on the moneyline to jump on.
