Game 1: Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies – Wednesday, March 20
If this were an online casino game, you would not want to go all-in, making a more cautious bet instead. The betting websites that focus on professional basketball at this time of year would first want you to realize that while these two teams may not wind up playing in the first round of the playoffs, the prospects of a second round series between the two is very appealing. The Thunder obviously made strides last year by getting to the NBA Finals. Oklahoma City is again a serious contender to win the West. Memphis, on the other hand, still doesn’t get that respect despite winning 14 of 16 and playing as well as a basketball team can play. Anytime a team is going up against Memphis, the key is to hit the glass and box out. Zach Randolph is an offensive rebounding menace. Between him and Marc Gasol, Memphis can wreak havoc on the opposition if not accounted for. The Grizzlies play pretty solid perimeter defense and will need to do so against the combination of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The two men are playing as well as just about any duo in the league. These two split the first two meetings, and this might not be the last time the two squares off. This is an even-steven game, so take the home squad.
NBA Betting Pick: Memphis
Game 2: Golden State Warriors @ San Antonio Spurs – Wednesday, March 20
When making a bet on sports, it’s sensible to pick a strong homecourt force unless the opposition is uniquely formidable. Golden State is looking to keep separation from Houston and Los Angeles in the playoff race to avoid a first round matchup with either the Oklahoma City Thunder or the Spurs. Meanwhile San Antonio is looking to hold off the Thunder in the race for the number one seed. The first obvious edge here is the Spurs’ home record. At 27-4 at home, the Spurs have been almost unbeatable on their own floor, and Golden State’s home-road splits show the Warriors are home-court heroes as much as anything else. Stephen Curry and company have been a strong shooting team all season, specifically from three-point range, but the Warriors aren’t even the most efficient offensive team in the sport. Even with Tony Parker hurt, Tim Duncan showed again the other night that when his team needed him to turn the clock back, he could rise to the occasion. He produced 28 points and 19 rebounds in a win over Dallas on March 14. Golden State has exceeded what most expected of it this season, but the Spurs are a different animal. Take San Antonio.
NBA Betting Pick: San Antonio
Game 3: – Wednesday, March 20
When making a studious attempt at breaking down various betonline.com reviews, it’s hard to overstate the importance of this game. The Rockets are a team the Jazz are trying to chase down for the final Western Conference playoff spot, and this is the final meeting between the two teams. The Rockets won two of the first three, meaning that a win here gives Houston the season series edge and tiebreaker. On top of this, Utah has not been very good on the road all season. It got drilled by Houston in the teams’ last meeting in Utah. The key will be how Utah runs its offense and limits turnovers. Houston doesn’t really stop teams as much as it outscores them. If Houston can get out and run at home, Utah will have a tough time winning. However, if Utah can control the flow of the game, it may be able to get a season series split. In the end expect James Harden to be too much. Pick Houston to get a big win.
