Alabama easily handled the high powered offense of the Washington Huskies in a 24-7 win in the Peach Bowl on New Year’s eve. They now must face the best defense in the nation.

Stanford star running back Christian McCaffrey, who leads the nation with 2,327 all-purpose yards and has posted 1,603 rushing yards, will not play in the Sun Bowl to focus on his NFL draft preparation. The Cardinals could struggle to keep pace with the Tar Heels’ explosive offense. Take North Carolina for 20* |

Wayne Gallman leads the team with 197 yards rushing. Having to prepare for the triple option and on a short week is asking a lot for any defense. Georgia Tech option attack has rolled up 955 yards in lopsided wins over Mercer and Vanderbilt. Against Vanderbilt last Saturday, the Yellow Jackets opened up with an 81-yard touchdown pass from Justin Thomas to Marcus Marshall in the first play of the game. They also had a late 77-yard touchdown pass from backup Matthew Jordan to Clinton Lynch. The Yellow Jackets defense has allowed 305 total yards per game but only 10.3 points per game. 09-17-16 | Texas A&M +3.5 v. Auburn | Top | 29-16 | Win | 100 | 24 h 35 m | Show |
Texas A&M got a scare as they had to go to OT to beat UCLA 31-24 in the opener after leading by 15 entering the fourth. Last week the Aggies pounded Prairie View A&M by a 67-0 score. The Aggie defense is solid and should only get better as they have seven starters back from a group that allowed just 22 points per game last season. The Aggies should have the offensive edge as they can throw or run and the Tigers haven't stop the pass in either of their two games this year. Auburn opened with a tough 19-13 loss to Clemson and man handled Arkansas State 51-14 but they allowed 260 yards passing. The Tigers had only 87 yards rushing against Clemson and will face a good Texas A&M defense. Auburn has allowed 362.5 total ypg with 254 ypg coming through the air. Take Texas A&M for 20* |

09-17-16 | Alabama -11 v. Ole Miss | Top | 48-43 | Loss | -102 | 21 h 9 m | Show |

Alabama had 489 yards led by quarterback Jalen Hurts, who threw for 289 yards (23-of-36) and two scores. Coach Nick Saban will have this team focused having lost the last two against Ole Miss. Mississippi lost to Florida State 45-34 after having a 22 point lead at Tallahassee. The defense gave up 419 yards through the air and QB Chad Kelley threw three interceptions. They also lost RB Eric Swinney and CB Kendarius Webster with season-ending injuries. The Rebels beat Wofford 38-13 but the defense again struggled giving up 233 rushing yards on 57 attempts. Will be tough to keep up with Alabama considering the injuries and defensive problems. Take Alabama for 20* |

RB Dalvin Cook has already accounted for 284 total yards and two touchdowns in limited action. The Seminoles will get a good test in their first road game. Louisville beat Charlotte 70-14 in the opener at home and handled Syracuse impressively 62-28 on the road. Lamar Jackson has compiled 1,015 yards of total offense and accounted for 13 touchdowns in less than two full games for Louisville. The Cardinals will also be seeking revenge after losing halftime leads against the Seminoles in each of their first two clashes as conference rivals, getting outscored by a combined 70-24 in the second half. Junior QB Dalton Sturm has thrown for 450 yards and four scores and RB Jalen Rhodes has 117 yards rushing and 54 receiving in the first two contests. The Roadrunners averaged 169 yards rushing per game last season and returned star Jarveon Williams, who ran for 1,042 yards and eight scores in 2015. 09-15-16 | Houston v. Cincinnati +7.5 | Top | 40-16 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 28 m | Show |
Houston pulled the 33-23 upset over Oklahoma in the season opener and took care of business by beating Lamar 42-0 last week. In last year's matchup at Houston the Cougars were up 30-14 late in the third and had to hold on for the win as they were outscored 16-3 in the final 16 minutes. Cincinnati comes in off a 38-20 road win over Purdue. The Bearcats had 512 yards of offense, including 262 on the ground. Sophomore QB Hayden Moore threw three touchdowns passes and ran for two more scores. Cincinnati beat Houston in 2013 and 2014, and while they lost to the Cougars last year 33-30, the Bearcats covered as nine-point underdogs. Moore didn't play in last season's loss and will give Cincinnati an added threat in the running game. Take Cincinnati for 20* |

09-10-16 | South Carolina v. Mississippi State -7.5 | Top | 14-27 | Win | 100 | 5 h 28 m | Show |
South Carolina's first-year defensive-minded coach Will Muschamp appears to have already made his presence felt as the Gamecocks held Vanderbilt to 169 rushing yards, far less than their SEC-worst 217.4 average from last season, and came away with the 13-10 victory. Mississippi State comes in with a chip on their shoulder after being stunned at home by underdog South Alabama 21-20. Junior QB Damian Williams passed for 143 yards and a touchdown and ran for a team-high 93. The dual threat will add another challenge for South Carolina. The Bulldogs could also be bolstered by the return of freshman defensive end Jeffery Simmons, who was suspended for the opener. Take Mississippi State for 20* |

09-10-16 | Wyoming v. Nebraska -25 | Top | 17-52 | Win | 100 | 4 h 43 m | Show |
It took three overtimes before Wyoming prevailed over Northern Illinois 40-34 last week at home. Junior RB Brian Hill ran for 125 yard and has now rushed for at least 100 yards in 12 of 18 games since taking over the full-time job midway through his freshman season but will find those yards a little tougher against the Nebraska defense. Nebraska ran for 292 yards on 51 carries while attempting only 13 passes in the 43-10 win over Fresno State. Look for more of the same against Wyoming who were ranked 114th in run defense with a 225.2 average last season. Take Nebraska for 20* |

Louisville is a very solid team with 17 starters back from a team that went 8-5 last year and beat Texas A&M in the Music City Bowl. New Head Coach Dino Babers brings his high-octane offense to Syracuse. Last Saturday they took on Colgate as 23.5 point favorites and were able to win the game 33-7. Eric Dungey had a great game, completing 40 of 46 passes for 355 yards and two TDs. The Orange have 16 starters back from a team that was outscored by just 3.7 ppg despite their 4-8 record. Houston is ranked thirteenth and has senior QB Greg Ward Jr. who threw for 2,828 yards, rushed for 1,100 more and recorded 38 total touchdowns to lead the Cougars to 13 wins.
