06-25-21 | Yankees v. Red Sox OVER 10 | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -113 | 8 h 56 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY The over is 13-5-1 in the last 19 meetings at Fenway Park, and this double-digit number does not scare me. Note that Boston left-hander Martin Perez (5-4, 4.32 ERA) has a 7.92 ERA in seven starts against the Bronx Bombers while righty Domingo German (4-4, 4.17 ERA) has a 4.45 ERA in seven games (six starts) versus the Red Sox. The Yankees have been swinging hot bats lately scoring five, six and eight runs in their last three games and Boston is averaging a solid 5.34 runs per game home at Fenway Park. 10* play on OVER. |
06-22-21 | Reds v. Twins OVER 9 | Top | 10-7 | Win | 100 | 3 h 46 m | Show |
SUPER EARLY REDS @ TWINS TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Minnesota Twins host the Cincinnati Reds for a rare Tuesday afternoon game of baseball, and I think the crowd will be treated with plenty of runs. Reds' veteran left-hander Wade Miley (6-4, 2.88 ERA) is boasting a strong ERA, but we can note that the over/under is still 8-4 in Miley's starts on the season as he's not getting much help from his relievers. Reds' bullpen ranks dead last in the major leagues with a 5.58 ERA, and the Twins's ranks 23rd with a 4.72 ERA. Minnesota right-hander Bailey Ober (0-0, 3.71 ERA) is averaging only 4 1/3 innings per start, which means we're likely to see plenty of Twins' relievers.  Weak and taxed bullpens' (yesterday's matchup went 12 innings) should set this up for runs galore. 10* play on OVER. |
06-21-21 | Brewers v. Diamondbacks OVER 9.5 | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 46 m | Show |
MLB NATIONAL LEAGUE TOTAL GAME OF THE MONTH The Arizona Diamondbacks are 40-32-1 to the over on the season and eight of their last 10 have gone over the total. Right-hander Merrill Kelly (2-7, 5.40 ERA) has a 5.71 ERA in three career starts against the Brewers who hand the ball to Brett Anderson (2-4, 4.24 ERA). The left-hander has a 4.38 ERA in seven career starts against the D'Backs, and he has struggled on the road this season coming into this contest with a 5.47 ERA away from home. Over is 6-2 in Brewers last 8 games as a road favorite. Over is 8-1 in Diamondbacks last 9 games a home underdog. 10* play on OVER. |
06-21-21 | A's v. Rangers UNDER 8.5 | 3-8 | Loss | -115 | 14 h 3 m | Show
MONDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL BOOKIE BU$TER The Oakland Athletics took a 2-1 loss in the Bronx on Sunday, and I think they'll be involved in another low-scoring affair when visiting Texas Monday night. Rangers' righty Kyle Gibson (4-0, 2.09 ERA) is having a tremendous year, especially at home where he's posted a 0.96 ERA. As for A's starter Frankie Montas (7-6, 4.21 ERA), the right-hander owns a 3.13 ERA away from home and he limited the Halos to a pair of runs through seven frames in his last start. The Rangers are averaging only 3.99 runs per game on the season, and they've put up only 3.17 runs per game through a six-game slide. 8* play on UNDER. |
06-20-21 | Mets v. Nationals UNDER 8.5 | Top | 2-5 | Win | 100 | 9 h 48 m | Show |
SUPER EARLY MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY These are two of the lowest-scoring teams in the major leagues, and for all of Nats' left-hander Patrick Corbin's struggles with a 5.60 ERA overall in 2021, note that it drops to 4.61 at home. The Mets are batting only .222 against left-handers. Mets' right-hander Taijuan Walker (6-2, 2.12 ERA) has shown he's just as comfortable pitching away from home as at Citi Field. The first three games of this series have seen one, six and eight runs respectively. This should be another low-scoring affair. 10* play on UNDER. |
06-16-21 | Marlins v. Cardinals UNDER 8.5 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 8 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK - TOTAL I really like the price we get on the Miami Marlins in this early Wednesday afternoon matchup at St. Louis. Marlins' righty Sandy Alcantara (4-5, 3.39 ERA) has posted a 2.45 ERA in two career starts against the Cardinals, and he has posted a 2.38 ERA away from home in 2021. St. Louis hands the ball to Johan Oviedo (0-2, 5.72 ERA) who has posted a 6.85 ERA in six starts this season. Sure, the Cards are 5-0 against Miami this season, but note that Alcantara struck out 10 through six innings against them back in April. I think Alcantara will lead the Fish to a win in this one. In addition to the Marlins winning the game, I also like the under. Under is 6-1 in Marlins last 7 vs. a team with a winning record. Under is 11-3 in Cardinals last 14 games as a home underdog. Under is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in St. Louis. 8* play on UNDER. |
06-15-21 | Tigers v. Royals UNDER 9 | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 12 h 1 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK TOTAL #1 The Detroit Tigers are averaging only 3.69 runs per nine innings against left-handers. I think they're in for a tough one against Mike Minor (5-3, 4.50 ERA) who struck out eight with only one run on three hits allowed in seven innings against Oakland in his last start. Casey Mize (3-4, 3.44 ERA) will take the ball for the Tigers, looking to build on a solid 2.80 ERA away from home. 8* play on UNDER. |
06-15-21 | Reds v. Brewers UNDER 8.5 | 2-1 | Win | 105 | 12 h 0 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK TOTAL #2 Cincinnati Reds right-hander Luis Castillo (2-9, 6.47 ERA) has had an awful start to the year, but his last three outings have shown some promise with a total of only six earned runs allowed over 16 2/3 innings of work. Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Brett Anderson (2-4, 4.99 ERA) should be fired up for this one after getting knocked around by Cincy in his last start. 8* play on UNDER. |
06-13-21 | Yankees v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | Top | 0-7 | Win | 100 | 1 h 25 m | Show |
SUPER EARLY MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY This looks like it should be a low-scoring affair with Domingo German (4-3, 3.12 ERA) and Aaron Nola (4-4, 4.06 ERA) on the mound. German has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last nine starts, including 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball against Boston last time out. Nola's last two outings have not been great, but he has posted a solid 3.03 ERA in six home starts and a 2.10 ERA in four day starts. 10* play on UNDER. |
06-12-21 | Rangers v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | Top | 12-1 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 9 m | Show |
LATE NIGHT RANGERS @ DODGERS MLB BOOKIE BREAKER *TOP PLAY* The Texas Rangers have lost eight of their last 10 games, and they've put up 10 runs over their last five games. Runs are likely to come a premium for the Rangers again in Saturday's matchup with the Dodgers and right-hander Trevor Bauer (6-4, 2.40 ERA) who has posted a 1.69 ERA in four home starts on the year. Texas hands the ball to left-hander Kolby Allard (1-2, 3.41 ERA). Under is 5-1 in Dodgers last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter. 10* play on UNDER. |
06-07-21 | Royals v. Angels OVER 9 | Top | 3-8 | Win | 101 | 12 h 26 m | Show |
ROYALS @ ANGELS MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Los Angeles Angels are 15-5 to the over as home favorites on the season and tonight's Angels' starter Dylan Bundy has an ugly 6.49 ERA in 2021. Royals' righty Jackson Kowar will make his first MLB start ever, and this could easily go south early against a Halos' team that is averaging 5.77 runs per nine innings home in Anaheim. Over is 7-1-2 in Royals last 10 overall. Over is 3-0-1 in Royals last 4 games as a road underdog. 10* play on OVER. |
06-05-21 | Cubs v. Giants UNDER 7.5 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 12 h 6 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY The Chicago Cubs are 30-23-4 to the under on the season. Right-hander Kohl Stewart (1-0, 0.00 ERA) will be making his second start of the season. He allowed only one run (no earned) through five innings against the Padres in his season opener. The San Francisco Giants counter with Kevin Gausman (6-0, 1.40 ERA) who is having an extraordinary year with 11 runs allowed on 41 hits over 70 2/3 innings and an 83/16 K/BB ratio. Regression is surely coming for the right-hander, but not against the Cubs who have been hitting leftie a lot harder than righties. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-31-21 | Twins v. Orioles OVER 8.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -113 | 4 h 36 m | Show
EARLY MLB 3-PACK #1 The Minnesota Twins are 34-16-2 to the over on the season and only two of their last 11 games have gone under the total. Their bullpen has the third worst earned run average in the American League, which is why I think they'll give up runs eventually with Jose Berrios (5-2, 3.67 ERA) as their starter. As for Orioles' started Jorge Lopez, his 5.80 ERA on the season says it all and he has allowed 10 runs (nine earned) through 13 innings in his last three starts combined. 8* play on OVER. |
05-30-21 | Cardinals v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9 | 2-9 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 5 m | Show
CARDINALS @ DIAMONDBACKS MLB BOOKIE BLA$TER The first three games of this series have seen nine, 14 and 11 runs scored respectively. I expect the fourth and final game of the series to be a much lower scoring contest. Arizona right-hander Matt Peacock (1-1, 4.91 ERA) has made 10 appearances on the season, two as a start through which he has allowed four runs over 10 1/3 innings of work. St. Louis is hitting .225 against right-handers on the season. The Cardinals hand the ball to left-hander Kwang Hyun Kim (1-2, 3.09 ERA) who has allowed one earned run or fewer in five of his last six starts. The exception came against the White Sox who are dominating left-handers. He should have no trouble handling the D'Backs. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-30-21 | Giants v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -120 | 15 h 46 m | Show |
MLB GAME OF THE WEEK | NL WEST *BEST TOTAL* The last two games of this series have seen a total of 30 runs scored. I expect a completely different game in the finale on Sunday. Dodgers' left-hander Clayton Kershaw (7-3, 2.94 ERA) is having a solid year as per usual, and he is coming off a season-high 7 2/3 innings of one-run ball in a win over Houston on Tuesday. Kerhaw has posted a career ERA of 1.79 against the Giants. Kevin Gausman (5-0, 1.53 ERA) takes the ball for San Francisco. He has allowed a total of four runs through his last seven starts and posted a 3.00 ERA in three outings (two starts) against the Dodgers last season. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-29-21 | Braves v. Mets UNDER 6.5 | Top | 2-13 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY The oddsmakers have posted an exceptionally low total for this game, but I still like the under. Note that the over/under is 17-26 across the Major Leagues this season and 1-8 in games involving the New York Mets. Both starting pitchers for tonight, Ian Anderson (4-1, 2.28 ERA) and Tajiuan Walker (3-1, 2.05 ERA), have been great. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-27-21 | Rockies v. Mets UNDER 5 | 0-1 | Win | 111 | 2 h 5 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY This is a low total, but is it low enough? I don't think so. Note that the under is 14-5 in all games with a total lower than seven here in 2021. The Mets are averaging only 3.58 runs per game and their starting pitcher for the evening, Marcus Stroman, has a 3-4 record with a 2.73 ERA. The Rockies counter with German Marquez (3-4, 4.82 ERA) who is coming off seven scoreless innings of four-hit ball against Arizona. Note that this is the first game of a doubleheader after Wednesday's scheduled matchup got rained out. With only seven innings, this game should stay under five runs. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-22-21 | Twins v. Indians UNDER 7.5 | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 38 m | Show |
MLB GAME OF THE WEEK | TOP-RATED AL TOTAL MAJOR WAGER This game should be a low-scoring affair. The Cleveland Indians' bats have been cold during a 2-5 stretch and they were shut out by the Twins on Friday. Twins righty Kenta Maeda (2-2, 5.26 ERA) has not had a great year, but surely he can keep the Tribe under control. Under is 5-1 in Indians last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. As for Cleveland starter Shane Bieber (4-3, 3.17 ERA), the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner needs no further introduction, and note that Bieber posted a 2.14 ERA in three starts against the Twins last year. Under is 46-22-4 in the last 72 meetings. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-20-21 | Giants v. Reds OVER 9 | 19-4 | Win | 102 | 2 h 29 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY Good spot to back the Cincinnati Reds to beat the San Franciaco Giants after dropping the first three games of the series. The Reds have a 6-2 record in righty Tyler Mahle's (2-1, 2.93 ERA) eight starts and he has allowed more than two runs in only one start. The Giants counter with Johnnny Cueto (2-1, 3.62 ERA) who allowed no runs and three hits over 5 2/3 inning of a 3-0 win when pitching opposite Mahle on April 14, but left that win after only 68 pitches and ended up sidelined for more than three weeks. The team has last his two starts since coming back with Cueto giving uo seven runs on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings. Additionally, the Reds are the highest scoring team at home in baseball, and I think their bats are about to go off following a couple of low-scoring games. 8* play on OVER. |
05-16-21 | Rangers v. Astros UNDER 8 | 2-6 | Push | 0 | 11 h 14 m | Show
EARLY RANGERS @ ASTROS MLB BOOKIE BU$TER The last two games of this series have seen 14 and nine runs respectively. but I think the finale on Sunday will be a low-scoring affair. Rangers righty Kyle Gibson (3-0, 2.28 ERA) has allowed one or zero runs in six of eight starts on the season. Gibson has a solid track record against the Astros, going 4-2 with a 2.59 ERA in nine career starts. Lance McCullers, Jr. (3-1, 3.10 ERA) will toe the slab for Houston. He has allowed two or fewer runs in five of seven starts on the season. In his last start, McCullers, Jr. held the Halos to one run with nine Ks over eight innings. Current Texas' batters are just a combined 7-for-54 (.115) against McCullers, Jr. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-15-21 | A's v. Twins UNDER 8.5 | 4-5 | Loss | -105 | 16 h 31 m | Show
EARLY ATHLETICS @ TWINS BOOKIE BU$TER | 4:05 ET START Both starting pitchers are off to a solid start to the season. Oakland left-hander Cole Irvin (3-4, 3.29 ERA) has allowed only seven runs over his last five starts. Irvin has 37 Ks against only six walks over 41 innings on the season. Minnesota right-hander Jose Berrios (3-2, 3.49 ERA) made one of his best starts on the season against the A's back on April 21, when he held them to one run on four hits over five innings. The A's are hitting only .207 against right-handers. Under is 10-3-1 in Athletics last 14 games as an underdog. Under is 6-0-1 in Athletics last 7 road games. Under is 10-4-1 in Twins last 15 home games vs. a left-handed starter. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-14-21 | Reds v. Rockies UNDER 10.5 | Top | 6-9 | Loss | -100 | 16 h 29 m | Show |
MLB GAME OF THE WEEK | TOP-RATED REDS @ ROCKIES TOTAL The Colorado Rockies and the Cincinnati Reds combined for 21 runs in the opener of this four-game series on Thursday. The total for that game closed at 11.5, but we're still seeing a lower total for tonight's game. I trust the oddsmakers and expect the bats to be a lot colder here in Game 2. Colorado right-hander German Marquez (1-4, 5.49 ERA) has a rather bloater earned run average, but it's mostly down to two subpar outings. In his last start, Marquez held the Cardinals to two runs through six innings of a 2-0 Rockies win. The Reds counter with left-hander Wade Miley (4-2, 2.00 ERA) who is coming off a no hitter at Cleveland. Miley has posted a 0.9 ERA while allowing only seven hits in three road starts covering 20 innings on the season. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-13-21 | Blue Jays v. Braves UNDER 9 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -126 | 4 h 19 m | Show |
SUPER EARLY BLUE JAYS @ BRAVES MLB TOP PLAY OF THE DAY I think the bookmakers have set this total waaaaay too high. Sure, Toronto right-hander Ross Stripling (0-2, 6.61 ERA) has had a tough start to the year, but his best start came against the Braves on May 3 when he held them to two runs through 4 1/3 innings of work. Braves' veteran right-hander Charlie Morton (2-2, 4.98 ERA) could also have asked for a better start to the year, but he has a solid 3.83 ERA in eight career starts against Toronto. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-12-21 | Reds v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | Top | 5-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 12 m | Show |
EARLY MLB 3-PACK #2 - TOP PLAY The Cincinnati Reds are 22-10-1 to the over on the season, but I think this game will be low-scoring. Cincinnati right-hander Sonny Gray (0-2, 3.92 ERA) is coming off seven scoreless innings of two-hit ball against the White Sox. Gray has a 2.12 ERA in three day starts on the season. The Pittsburgh Pirates hand the ball to Trevor Cahill (1-4, 6.75 ERA) who has posted a 2.45 ERA in two day starts in 2021. If any team is to score runs here it's the Reds. I don't see Pittsburgh putting more than two runs on the board and I predict Cincinnati to win in a very low-scoring affair. 10* play on UNDER. |
05-12-21 | Orioles v. Mets UNDER 7.5 | 1-7 | Loss | -112 | 1 h 55 m | Show
SUPER EARLY ORIOLES @ METS BANKROLL BUILDER Good spot for an under. The NY Mets' righty Matt Harvey (3-2, 3.60 ERA) has allowed two earned runs or fewer five times in seven starts. The Baltimore Orioles' Taijuan Walker (2-1, 2.38 ERA) has been red hot. He has allowed zero earned runs in three of his last four starts, and he fanned eight through seven innings of a 4-1 Mets win at St. Louis in his last start. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-09-21 | Brewers v. Marlins UNDER 7.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 58 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #1 Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Brett Anderson (2-2, 4.15 ERA) did not even make it through the first inning in a 15-2 loss to the Cubs in his last start but had allowed only two runs in 12 innings in his last two starts prior to that outing. Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara (1-2, 2.95 ERA) is having a great year. Through his last three starts, Alcantara has allowed only six runs over 18 innings. The Brewers are averaging 3.92 runs per game (25th) and they're batting a lowly .205 against right-handers.  8* play on UNDER. |
05-09-21 | Diamondbacks v. Mets UNDER 6.5 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 56 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #3 New York Mets righty Jacob deGrom (2-2, 0.51 ERA) has had a spectacular start to the year with only two earned runs allowed and 59 Ks through 35 innings on the mound. Here he'll face an Arizona team that has scored a total of 10 runs through a five-game losing streak. The Mets have won four in a row, but mainly because of good pitching and not good hitting. The Mets are averaging 3.72 runs per game on the season (28th) and I don't think Arizona right-hander Riley Smith (1-1, 4.91 ERA) will be in much trouble. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-05-21 | Orioles v. Mariners UNDER 7.5 | 6-0 | Win | 100 | 7 h 24 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK The Baltimore Orioles have won four of their last six after splitting the first two games of this three-game series at Seattle. I like the Orioles to clinch the series-finale with John Means (3-0, 1.70 ERA) on the mound. The left-hander has had a terrific start to the year, and recorded nine strikeouts for the second time of the season in a 3-2 win at Oakland last time out. Seattle is hitting only .202 against left-handers this season. The Mariners hand the ball to lefty Yusei Kikuchi (1-1, 4.40 ERA). The Orioles have owned left-handers all season, heading into this contest with a .268 AVG and averaging 5.03 runs per nine innings against southpaws. In addition to Baltimore winning the game, I also like the under. Orioles are 18-11-1 to the under on the season. Under is 8-3 in Orioles last 11 road games. Under is 6-2-1 in Mariners last 9 home games. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-04-21 | Brewers v. Phillies UNDER 8 | 5-6 | Loss | -112 | 11 h 52 m | Show
BREWERS @ PHILLIES BOOKIE BOMBER The Philadelphia Phillies won the opener of this series 4-3 on Monday. Game 2 looks like another low-scoring affair. Milwaukee left-hander Eric Lauer (1-0, 0.00 ERA) held the Dodgers to four hits through five scoreless innings in his lone start of the season. Phillies Aaron Nola (2-1, 3.11 ERA) has allowed only 31 hits and owns a 39/5 K/BB ratio over 37 2/3 innings on the season.  Milwaukee is averaging only 3.98 runs per game and the Phillies 4.00 runs per game. The Brew Crew has a poor .205 AVG against right-handers this season. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-02-21 | Angels v. Mariners UNDER 8.5 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 34 m | Show
ANGELS @ MARINERS TOTAL The Los Angeles Angels have won four of their last five games, including a 10-5 triumph here at Seattle on Saturday. Mariners' starter Ljay Newsome was chased off the mound after only two innings, so the bullpen could be in rough shape today.  Seattle's starter for Sunday, Justus Sheffield (1-2, 5.32 ERA) has allowed three runs or more in three of four starts on the season and he has allowed 27 hits and eight walks over 22 innings of work. Sheffield made two starts against the Angels last year, allowing 10 runs on eight hits and eight walks over 7 2/3 frames. Angels' right-hander Dylan Bundy (0-2, 4.20 ERA) held Houston to two runs on three hits through six innings of a 4-2 Angels win last time out. Bundyhas a solid 34/8 K /BB ratio over 30 innings. Bundy made three starts against Seattle in 2020 and compiled a 2.21 ERA over 20 1/3 innings. In addition to the Angels winning the game, I also like the under as I expect Bundy to completely shut down the M's. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-02-21 | Marlins v. Nationals UNDER 7 | 1-3 | Win | 103 | 8 h 52 m | Show
SUPER EARLY MARLINS @ NATS MLB BOOKIE BU$TER This is indeed a low total, but I still think we'll cash the under. Miami left-hander Trevor Rogers (3-1, 1.29 ERA) has been one of the best pitchers in the league, and he has 38 Ks over 28 innings of work. Nats veteran righty Max Scherzer (1-2, 3.00 ERA) has been superb in four of his six starts on the season, and he has 38 Ks over 30 innings. I don't see Miami having the weapons to hurt him. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-01-21 | Giants v. Padres UNDER 7.5 | 2-6 | Loss | -117 | 12 h 58 m | Show
LATE GIANTS @ PADRES MLB BOOKIE BOMBER The San Francisco Giants are 15-10-1 to the under on the season and the San Diego Padres 17-10 to the under. We saw five runs in the opener of this series on Friday. Giants righty Anthony DeSclafani (2-0, 1.50 ERA) allowed only three hits in a complete game shutout against Colorado in his last start. Padres left-hander Blake Snell (0-0, 3.92 ERA) has struck out 31 over 20 2/3 innings on the season. Under is 7-1 in Giants last 8 games vs. a left-handed starter. Under is 13-3 in Padres last 16 home games. Under is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings. 8* play on UNDER. |
05-01-21 | Cardinals v. Pirates UNDER 7.5 | 12-5 | Loss | -119 | 16 h 29 m | Show
CARDINALS @ PIRATES BOOKIE BU$TER Cards righy-hander Jack Flaherty (4-0, 3.18 ERA) has allowed only four earned runs through his last four starts. Pittsburgh is averaging only 4.08 runs per game (20th) and it is one of the very worst teams at hitting home runs (29th). Pirates' right-hander Trevor Cahill (1-2, 7.11 ERA) has been inconsistent, allowing 7, 1, 6, 1 runs in his four starts. Cahill was solid in his lone home start so far, when he held the Padres to one run with eight Ks through five innings on April 13. 8* play on UNDER. |
04-28-21 | Padres v. Diamondbacks UNDER 9.5 | 12-3 | Loss | -117 | 13 h 4 m | Show
PADRES @ D'BACKS LATE NIGHT BOOKIE BLA$TER The San Diego Padres are 16-9 to the under on the season. Tonight's starter, Ryan Weathers (1-0, 0.59 ERA) will make just his second major league start, but he has been terrific this season with only one earned run allowed over 15 1/3 innings on the mound. He'll be backed up by a bullpen that has the sixth lowest ERA in the major leagues. The D'Backs counter with Taylor Widener (1-0, 2.82 ERA) for his fifth start of the year. Two of his previous four outings were of the scoreless variety. Under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. 8/10* play on UNDER 9.5 |
04-28-21 | Reds v. Dodgers UNDER 7.5 | 0-8 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 28 m | Show
EARLY REDS @ DODGERS MLB BOOKIE BU$TER | 4:10 PM START The Los Angeles Dodgers have seen each of their last five games go over the total, but I expect a low-scoring affair when they host the Cincinnati Reds in the finale of this three-game series. Dodgers' veteran southpaw Clayton Kershaw (3-2, 2.56 ERA) was roughed up on Opening Day, but he has been on fire since, posting a 1.38 ERA over his last four starts. Kershaw posted a 0.48 ERA in three afternoon starts last season. Kershaw has the current Reds roster limited to a combined.157 AVG over 35 at bats. Sonny Gray (0-1, 7.88 ERA) will take the ball for the Reds. Gray was tagged with five runs on six hits in 3 2/3 innings at St. Louis last time out. I think he'll be sharper here, and note that the current Dodgers roster has a combined .094 with 11 Ks over 37 at bats against Gray. 8/10* play on UNDER. |
04-25-21 | Nationals v. Mets UNDER 8 | 0-4 | Win | 100 | 13 h 1 m | Show
SUPER EARLY NATS @ METS BOOKIE BREAKER The Washington Nationals defeated the NY Mets 7-1 on Saturday. They had put up just a total of four runs through their last three games prior to that (no game saw more than six runs), and both the Nationals and the Mets rank in the bottom five in the MLB for runs per game. Nats left-hander Patrick Corbin (0-2, 10.95 ERA) opened the season with two abysmal starts, but he held the Cardinals to four hits through six scoreless innings in his last start. The Mets are hitting .213 against southpaws on the season. Mets' righty Taijuan Walker (0-1, 3.21 ERA) has yet to allow more than two runs in any start this season and he has 19 Ks through 14 innings of work. The Nats are hitting .221 against right-handers on the season. 8/10* play on UNDER. |
04-24-21 | Phillies v. Rockies UNDER 10 | 7-5 | Loss | -104 | 18 h 32 m | Show
MIKE'S PHILLIES @ ROCKIES SATURDAY NIGHT BOOKIE BU$TER TOTAL Coors Field is known as a hitters park, but the bookmakers are of course also aware and know casual bettors will take the over no matter the line. Note that under is 8-3-1 in Rockies home games with a total of 9 or higher this season. Philadelphia right-hander Aaron Nola (1-1, 2.19 ERA) knocked out 10 through nine scoreless innings of two-hit ball last time out. Rockies' Antonio Senzatela (1-3, 5.40 ERA) has allowed only two runs through 14 innings in his last two starts at Coors. Last season Senzatela posted a 2.10 ERA in five home starts. The two teams combined for nine runs in the series opener on Friday. I think we'll see even fewer runs here in Game 2. 8/10* play on UNDER. |
04-24-21 | Royals v. Tigers UNDER 8 | Top | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
MIKE'S AL CENTRAL GAME OF THE MONTH | TOP-RATED MLB MAJOR WAGER This looks like a tough spot for the hitters after playing Friday night and now asked to play early Saturday on very short rest. Additionally, we have two hot pitchers on the mound. KC right-hander Brady Singer (0-2, 3.77 ERA) is coming off six scoreless innings of two-hit ball against Toronto (2-0 Royals win). Detroit left-hander Matthew Boyd (2-1, 2.03 ERA) has allowed 0, 3, 1, 2 runs in his four starts on the season. Under is 17-4 in Royals' last 21 games vs. a left-handed starter. Detroit is 12-7 to the under on the season and ranks among the worst for most offensive stats. 10/10* play on UNDER. |
04-21-21 | Cardinals v. Nationals UNDER 8 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 54 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #3 I'm well happy to take the under here with these two pitchers on the mound. Sure, the Cards Carlos Martinez (0-3, 7.80 ERA) has had a disastrous start to the year, but I think he'll get in the groove soon. We can also note that the Nats are averaging only 3.83 runs per game. As for Washington ace Max Scherzer (0-1, 2.37 ERA), he is obviously a stud and he owns a 3.31 ERA in 11 career starts against the Cardinals. Last time out, Scherzer threw seven scoreless innings of a 1-0 Nats win over the Arizona Diamondbacks, but he did not get the decision. The Cards won Tuesday's matchup 3-2, and I would not be surprised if we see a similar amount of runs in this one. 8* play on UNDER 8. |
04-21-21 | Twins v. A's UNDER 8 | 12-13 | Loss | -102 | 10 h 24 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #1 The Minnesota Twins were shut out by Oakland not only once, but twice in Tuesday's doubleheader. I think we'll see another low-scoring encounter between the two teams today. Oakland right-hander Frankie Montas (2-1, 4.91 ERA) fanned seven through six innings of two-hit ball against Detroit last time out. He limited Houston to one run through six innings his last start prior to that. Only five Twins (combined 12 at bats) have any experience of Montas. Minnesota counters with Kenta Maeda (1-1, 3.07 ERA). In his last two starts, the two teams have combined for only five runs per game. Maeda has struck out 16 through 14 2/3 innings of work on the season and only three A's hitters have seen him before (.125 AVG over eight at bats). Under is 13-4-1 in Twins last 18 Wednesday games. Under is 8-3 in Athletics last 11 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game. 8* play on UNDER. |
04-21-21 | Giants v. Phillies UNDER 8.5 | Top | 5-6 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 5 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH ALERT | TOP-RATED 10* NL TOTAL MAJOR WAGER The San Francisco Giants came from behind the beat the Philadelphia Phillies 10-7 on Tuesday. I expect a much low-scoring affair in this one. Philadelphia righty Zach Eflin (1-0, 3.15 ERA) struck out six through seven innings of two-run ball against the Cards last time out. Eflin has posted a 1.93 ERA with 14 Ks and only 10 hits allowed over 14 innings in two home starts on the season. San Francisco righty Anthony DeSclafani (1-0, 1.06 ERA) has allowed only two runs over 17 innings in 2021. Under is 7-2 in Giants' last 9 road games and 12-4 in all Giants' games on the season. 10* play on UNDER. |
04-19-21 | Brewers v. Padres UNDER 7 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 15 h 0 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MONDAY NIGHT BREWERS @ PADRES *BEST BET* The San Diego Padres are 11-6 to the under on the season and right-hander Joe Musgrove (2-1, 0.47 ERA) has allowed only one run with 24 strikeouts over his 19 innings on the mound. The Milwaukee Brewers have been held to two runs or fewer in three of their last six games and they're batting only .209 on the season (28th). Brewers righty Brandon Woodruff (0-0, 2.12 ERA) limited the Cubs to one run on three hits in six innings last time out. Woodruff has 19 Ks over 17 innings on the mound and has yet to serve up a home run in 2021. 10* play on UNDER. |
04-18-21 | Giants v. Marlins UNDER 8 | 1-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 28 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #2 The San Francisco Giants are struggling at the plate, averaging only 3.47 runs per game (29th) with a .208 AVG (28th). Here they'll have to deal with Pablo Lopez (0-1, 4.60 ERA) who owns a career ERA of 3.14 home at Marlins Park. The Giants turn to left-hander Alex Wood for his first start of the season. Wood owns a 2.77 ERA in 15 appearances, including 12 career starts against the Marlins. He has the current Marlins limited to a .227 AVG with 12 strikeouts over 49 plate appearances. 8* play on UNDER. |
04-18-21 | Indians v. Reds UNDER 7.5 | 6-3 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 26 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK #3 The Cleveland Indians are 10-4 to the under on the season. They'll face a Cincinnati team that averages a league-best 6.39 runs per game, but note that Tribe righty and reigning American League Cy Young Award winner Shane Bieber (1-1, 2.11 ERA) is 2-0 with a 3.15 ERA in three career starts versus Cincinnati. He has the current Reds limited to a .204 AVG with 13 Ks over 52 plate appearances. The Reds counter with Wade Miley (2-0, 0.00 ERA) who has a 4.60 ERA in seven starts against the Indians, but he has not faced them for a couple of years. 8* play on UNDER 7.5. |
04-18-21 | Cardinals v. Phillies UNDER 8 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 24 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK St. Louis Cardinals' righty John Gant (0-1, 3.00 ERA) has struggled somewhat with his command, allowing six walks over nine innings of work on the season but I like his chances of shutting down the Phillies. Philadelphia right-hander Aaron Nola (0-1, 3.45 ERA) has been solid in his three starts and only surrendered one home run and walked three through 15 2/3 innings of work. I expect both teams' bats to cool off after combining for 24 runs in the first two games of this series. 8* play on UNDER 8. |
04-17-21 | Diamondbacks v. Nationals UNDER 9 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 12 h 51 m | Show |
SUPER EARLY D'BACKS @ NATS TOTAL TOP PLAY | 1:05 FIRST PITCH The Washington Nationals won Friday's matchup with the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0. I expect another low-scoring affair when the two teams clash for Game 3 of this series on Saturday. Arizona right-hander Luke Weaver (1-0, 2.13 ERA) is off to a fast start to the season. In his last start, Weaver held Cincinnati to one hit with eight Ks through seven scoreless innings. Weaver has not faced the Nats since the 2018 season, and note that the Nats are averaging only 3.76 runs per game (28th). Washington counters with Erick Fedde (0-1, 8.53 ERA) who was roughed up by Atlanta in his first start of the season, but he held the Cards to one run on two hits in 4 2/3 frames last time out. Fedde has not faced Arizona since the 2019 season. Arizona's relievers have combined for a 3.91 ERA (12th) while the Nats' bullpen ranks 20th with a 4.23 ERA. Still, I like the under in this one. 10* play on UNDER. |
04-16-21 | Cardinals v. Phillies UNDER 9 | Top | 2-9 | Loss | -130 | 19 h 7 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK ALERT | TOP-RATED MLB TOTAL Good spot for an under when the St. Louis Cardinals visit the Philadelphia Phillies Friday night. Philly right-hander Zach Eflin (0-0, 3.46 ERA) was excellent in his lone home start of the season so far, limiting Atlanta to one run on four hits with eight ks through seven innings of a 2-1 Phillies win. Cardinals right-hander Carlos Martinez (0-2, 6.30 ERA) has had two rough outings, but here he'll face a Philadelphia team that averages only 3.73 runs per game (28th). Neither bullpen is spectacular, but not awful either. I expect a low-scoring game. 10* play on UNDER. |
04-15-21 | Rangers v. Rays OVER 8.5 | Top | 6-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 43 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY I expect to see fireworks when the Texas Rangers clash with the Tampa Bay Rays for the finale of a four-game series Thursday night. Tampa Bay left-hander Rich Hill (1-0, 7.20 ERA) has allowed four runs in each of his two starts on the season, covering four and six frames respectively. Those two games both saw 15+ runs scored. Rangers righty Jordan Lyles (1-0, 4.50 ERA) has allowed five runs on 11 hits with three homes through 11 innings on the season. I think the Rays can get to him and Texas' bullpen is among the worst in baseball with a 5.17 ERA (25th), one of the few worse is Tampa Bay's (29th). Over is 7-0 in Rangers last 7 during game 4 of a series. Over is 8-4 in Rays' 12 games on the season. 10* play on OVER. |
04-13-21 | Padres v. Pirates UNDER 8 | 4-8 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 56 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The San Diego Padres defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-2 on Monday, and I expect them to win big again in Game 2 of the series.  Padres' lefty Blake Snell (0-0, 1.86 ERA) has allowed only six hits while recording 16 Ks through his 9 2/3 innings on the mound in 2021. Pittsburgh righty Chad Kuhl (0-1, 6.43 ERA) struggled with his command at Cincinnati last time out and gave up five runs (four earned) on two htis and five walks in four innings of an 11-4 loss. This one is simple, back the team with the better bats and the better pitcher on the runline. In addition to Padres winning, I also like the under as I expect Snell to shut down the Bucs completely. 8* play on UNDER. |
04-12-21 | Reds v. Giants UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 17 h 54 m | Show |
TOP-RATED 10* MLB BIG HITTER TOTAL Reds righty Wade Miley held Pittsburgh to two hits through six scoreless innings in his season debut. Giants righy Aaron Sanchez limited San Diego to one run through five innings in his first start of the year. The under is 7-2 in Giants' games on the season and they've won four in a row while the Reds have gone cold, coming off a pair of losses at Arizona. 10* play on UNDER. |
04-12-21 | Padres v. Pirates OVER 8 | 6-2 | Push | 0 | 11 h 17 m | Show
3-PACK Pirates righty Trevor Cahill was lit up for seven runs on nine hits in four innings at Cincinnati in his season debut. This Padres roster has a combined batting average of .298 over 44 at bats against him. San Diego's righty Yy Darvish has allowed five runs on 11 hits through 10 2/3 innings of work in two starts on the seaason. 8* play on OVER. |
10-27-20 | Rays v. Dodgers OVER 8 | 1-3 | Loss | -108 | 11 h 13 m | Show
RAYS VS DODGERS WORLD SERIES GAME 6 BOOKIE BU$TER We saw a total of 10 runs when tonight's starters, Blake Snell and Tony Gonsolin clashed in Game 2 of the World Series. I think we'll see another high-scoring encounter in this one as I like the Dodgers bats to stay hot, but the Rays won't back down with their backs against the wall and they know how to get to Gonsolin and the Dodgers' bullpen. Four of the first five games have seen eight runs or more. 8* play on OVER. |
10-21-20 | Rays v. Dodgers UNDER 8 | 6-4 | Loss | -100 | 12 h 53 m | Show
WORLD SERIES GAME 2 - RAYS VS DODGERS BOOKIE BREAKER TOTAL Game 1 of the World Series saw 11 runs scored between the two teams. There were just two runs on the board before Dodgers picked up the pace in the fifth inning, and I think we'll see a lower scoring contest today. Rays' ace southpaw Blake Snell is always hard to reach and he is 2-2 with a 3.20 ERA in four postseason starts 2020. The Dodgers counter with right-hander Tony Gonsolin who has allowed seven runs in 6 1/3 innings in the postseason but note his 2.31 ERA in nine games (eight starts) during the regular season. Yesterday's contest went over due to late fireworks, but I think the bats will stay quiet throughout the whole game today. 8* play on UNDER. |
10-20-20 | Rays v. Dodgers OVER 7.5 | 3-8 | Win | 103 | 8 h 19 m | Show
WORLD SERIES GAME 1 - RAYS VS DODGERS TOTAL The Los Angeles Dodgers battle back from a 3-1 deficit against the Braves in the NLCS to earn their spot in the World Series. The Tampa Bay Rays on the other hand almost choked away a 3-0 lead over Houston in the ALCS before winning the finale of the best-of-seven series 4-2. The Dodgers hand the ball to Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.16 ERA). The left-hander has been dealing with back spasms but has still managed to compile a 2-1 record with a 3.32 ERA in three 2020 playoff starts. The Rays counter with Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 4.08 ERA) who is 2-1 with a 4.66 ERA in four 2020 playoff starts. Glasnow has struggled with the longball in the postseason, and he'll be living dangerously against this hard-hitting Dodgers team. All in all, I'm not afraid to lay the juice on the best team in baseball with its ace on the mound. With two tough starters everyone expects a pitching duel, right? Not me, I think the Dodgers bats will get them the W here, and as we only need 8 runs to win I think this is a no brainer. 8* play on OVER. |
10-13-20 | Braves v. Dodgers UNDER 8 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -120 | 18 h 25 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (MLB) - BRAVES VS DODGERS GAME 2 MAX BET The first game of this series went under the total as the teams combined for six runs (four of them in the ninth inning) in a 5-1 Atlanta Braves win. I see no reason why Game 2 wouldn't be another pitchers duel. Braves righty Ian Anderson (3-2, 1.95 ERA) has not allowed a single earned run over his last three starts while recording 23 strikeouts over 17 2/3 innings of work. This will be the rookie's first career matchup with the Dodgers who counter with left-hander Clayton Kershaw (6-2, 2.16 ERA). Kershaw gave up three runs over six innings against San Diego last time out, but note his 1.78 ERA in 11 career starts against Atlanta. Under is 9-3-1 in Braves last 13 games vs. a left-handed starter. Under is 5-2-1 in Dodgers last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter. UPDATE: Kershaw has been scratched due to back spasms and he will be replaced by Tony Gonsolin. The right-hander has not pitched for 17 days, but note his solid 2.31 ERA with 46 strikeouts and seven walks in 46 2/3 innings during the regular season. I still think this will go under the total, and now we get an even better number. 10* play on UNDER. |
10-12-20 | Astros v. Rays UNDER 8.5 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 58 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The Tampa Bay Rays opened the ALCS with a 2-1 win. I think Game 2 will be another close one and my numbers say the best value is taking the Houston Astros on the runline. Tampa Bay right-hander Charlie Morton (2-2, 4.74 ERA) is 4-6 with a 6.28 ERA in 11 starts against the Astros who counter with Lance McCullers Jr. (3-3, 3.93 ERA). This will be McCullers first career start against the Rays, which should give him an edge. The Astros bats have been hot in the postseason, they outhit the Rays 9-6 in Sunday's contest. Expect a better payoff for the Astros today. That being said, note that under is 6-2 in Astros last 8 AL Championship games and 13-6-2 in their last 21 overall. Under is 8-2 in Rays last 10 playoff games as a favorite and 8-1-1 in their last 10 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game. In addition to the Astros covering the runline, I also like the under. 8* play on UNDER. |
10-08-20 | Rays v. Yankees OVER 9 | Top | 1-5 | Loss | -111 | 10 h 16 m | Show |
RAYS VS YANKEES ALDS GAME 4 MLB TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The New York Yankees have been swinging hot bats since entering the postseason, scoring 40 runs in five games, all going over the total. Here they'll get a look at Tampa Bay right-hander Ryan Thompson who will serve as the opener for the Rays. Thompson has posted a 4.44 ERA on the season as is likely to be followed by left-hander Ryan Yarbrough (1-4, 3.56 ERA) who posted a 7.56 ERA in 11 innings on the road during the regular season. The Yankees hand the ball to Jordan Montgomery (2-3, 5.11 ERA) who has allowed seven runs in 10 innings over his last two starts. He gave up four runs on five hits in less than an inning against the Rays during the regular season. The Rays have scored 30 runs through their five postseason games with all but the first one going over the total. I expect this to be another high-scoring affair. 10* play on OVER. |
10-06-20 | Marlins v. Braves UNDER 8 | Top | 5-9 | Loss | -103 | 14 h 48 m | Show |
EARLY MARLINS VS BRAVES NLDS BOOKIE BREAKER TOP PLAY The Atlanta Braves didn't give up a single run in their 2-0 sweep of Cincinnati in the Wild Card round. Max Fried (0-0, 0.00 ERA) tossed seven scoreless innings in his start in that series and he has held Miami to two runs through 7 1/3 frames on the season. The Miami Marlins held the Cubs to one run in a 2-0 sweep of their own in the Wild Card round. Marlins' right-hander Sandy Alcantara (1-0, 1.35 ERA) held Chicago to a solo homer and a total of three hits over 6 2/3 innings on the mound. Alcantara has posted a 2.41 ERA in previous meetings with the Braves. 10* play on UNDER. |
09-30-20 | White Sox v. A's UNDER 7.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 24 m | Show
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AL TOTAL BOOKIE BU$TER The Oakland Athletics entered this three-game Wild Card showdown as the higher seed, but they are at risk of elimination following a 4-1 White Sox in on Tuesday. I think we'll see another low-scoring affair today. Yesterday, Oakland got just two hits off Chicago starter Lucas Giolito, and here they'll face another tough pitcher in left-hander Dallas Keuchel (6-2, 1.99 ERA). Keuchel has plenty of postseason experience and owns a 3.06 ERA in 22 career games (20 starts) against Oakland. The A's hand the ball to right-hander Chris Bassitt (5-2, 2.29 ERA) who has posted a 0.72 ERA in six home starts on the season and has allowed only one run through 26 2/3 innings of work this month. Under is 14-6-1 in White Sox last 21 games as an underdog. Under is 6-1-1 in Athletics last 8 games as a home favorite. 8* play on UNDER. |
09-24-20 | Marlins v. Braves UNDER 9 | Top | 4-2 | Win | 100 | 12 h 39 m | Show |
THURSDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL - MAJOR WAGER TOP PLAY The Atlanta Braves put a 9-4 beating on the Marlins yesterday. I expect a lower scoring affair here in the finale of this four-game series Thursday night. Atlanta right-hander Ian Anderson (3-1, 2.36 ERA) has posted a 2.00 ERA in two home starts on the season, and the under is 6-2 in Marlins last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter. Miami right-hander Pablo Lopez (5-4, 3.96 ERA) has punched out 13 while conceding only three runs through 12 1/3 innings of work in his last two starts combined, both at home. While Lopez has not been quite as sharp on the road as at home, he's hot right now and I also don't expect the Marlins' bats to contribute enough runs to push the final score over the total. Note that Miami has scored only 11 runs through its last five games and that the under is 7-3-2 in the last 12 head-to-head matchups with Atlanta. 10* play on UNDER. |
09-24-20 | Yankees v. Blue Jays OVER 9.5 | 1-4 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 20 m | Show
YANKEES @ BLUE JAYS THURSDAY NIGHT NO BRAINER The Toronto Blue Jays put a 14-1 beating on the Yankees on Wednesday night for their second win in the first three games of this series. Each of the first three games has gone over the total with easy, and I expect another slugfest tonight as the Yankees look to get back on track with a win. Yankees left-hander Jordan Montgomery (2-2, 5.12 ERA) was tagged with four runs in 4 2/3 innings of a 6-5 win at Boston last time out. He has posted an ugly 8.25 ERA in three road starts on the season and he'll face a Toronto team that has scored 32 runs through its last four games. The Blue Jays counter with left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu (4-2, 3.00 ERA) who is 0-2 with an 8.80 ERA in three career starts against the Yankees after allowing five runs in five innings against them earlier this month. Over is 8-3 in Blue Jays last 11 overall. Over is 4-0 in Yankees last 4 overall. Over is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings. 8* play on OVER. |
09-23-20 | Phillies v. Nationals OVER 9.5 | Top | 12-3 | Win | 100 | 14 h 49 m | Show |
PHILLIES @ NATIONALS WEDNESDAY NIGHT TOTAL TOP PLAY Phillies' right-hander Zach Eflin (3-2, 4.28 ERA) gave up four runs in six frames of a 6-5 extra-inning Philadelphia win over the Nats earlier this month. For his career, Eflin is 3-3 with a 4.43 ERA in eight starts against the Nationals. Washington righty Erick Fedde (2-3, 4.36 ERA) has faced the Phillies twice this season, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits over 11 innings for an ugly 8.18 ERA. Phillies' bullpen ranks dead last across the major leagues with a 7.21 ERA while the Nats rank 18th with a 4.48 ERA. Additionally, the bullpens were quite heavily used in Tuesday's doubleheaders. The over is 14-5 in Nationals last 19 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. 10* play on OVER. |
09-23-20 | Angels v. Padres UNDER 8.5 | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 40 m | Show
EARLY ANGELS @ PADRES TOTAL DAYTIME DESTROYER Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger (3-2, 3.10 ERA) held the Angels to two runs through six innings of a 2-0 loss in his team debut since coming over from the Tribe on Sept. 3. Last time out, Clevinger held San Francisco scoreless through a seven-inning complete game. Under is 5-1-2 in Angels last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter. Angels righty Jaime Barria (1-0, 3.26 ERA) will face the Padres for the first time since 2018. He owns a 2.61 ERA in two appearances (one start) on the road in 2020 and under is 5-2-1 in Padres last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter. 8* play on UNDER. |
09-22-20 | Cardinals v. Royals UNDER 9 | Top | 5-0 | Win | 104 | 12 h 43 m | Show |
MAJOR WAGER - TUESDAY MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The St. Louis Cardinals had won four straight prior to a 4-1 loss to the Kansas City Royals in the opener of a three-game series on Monday. They remain desperate for wins as they enter Tuesday tied with Cincinnati for second in the NL Central, but the Royals won't roll over, especially not with rookie right-hander Brady Singer (3-4, 4.14 ERA) on the mound. Singer is coming off a pair of scoreless starts while allowing only three overs 14 frames, and the Cards have struggled to produce runs all season ranking only 20th with 4.64 runs per game. Left-hander Austin Gomber (0-1, 2.37 ERA) will take the ball for St. Louis, filling in for Dakota Hudson. Gomber was knocked around as a reliever at Pittsburgh on Friday, but he has 6 2/3 scoreless frames against Kansas City throughout his career. We can also note that KC ranks just 27th for runs scored per game with 4.26 rpg average. Under is 20-6-1 in Cardinals last 27 interleague road games. Under is 6-0 in Royals last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter. 10* play on UNDER. |

09-20-20 | Rangers v. Angels UNDER 9.5 | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 56 m | Show
RANGERS VS ANGELS SUNDAY AFTERNOON MLB TOTAL Angels righty Julio Teheran (0-3, 8.90 ERA) is having an awful season, but this looks like a good spot to turn things around as Texas has scored only eight runs through its last five games. Rangers righty Kyle Cody (0-1, 1.42 ERA) will make his fourth major league start and has yet to allow more than one run in any of his outings. Under is 4-0-1 in Rangers last 5 overall and 5-2-1 in their last 8 during game 3 of a series. Under is 6-2-2 in the last 10 meetings overall and Under is 20-6-1 in the last 27 meetings in Anaheim. 8* play on UNDER. |
09-18-20 | Rays v. Orioles UNDER 8.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
RAYS @ ORIOLES FRIDAY NIGHT TOTAL Tampa Bay righty Tyler Glasnow (3-1, 4.47 ERA) is 3-0 with a 2.12 ERA in five starts against Baltimore and he has posted a 2.88 ERA in six starts under the lights this season. The Orioles have really struggled at the plate lately and I don't see them contributing enough runs to push the score over the total. Under is 5-1 in Orioles last 6 games as a home underdog and 6-2 in Orioles last 8 vs. American League East rivals. 8* play on UNDER. |
09-18-20 | Braves v. Mets UNDER 8.5 | Top | 15-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 13 m | Show |
BRAVES @ METS FRIDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY I think we will see a relatively low-scoring affair in this battle between left-handers. Mets' southpaw Steven Matz (0-4, 8.63 ERA) is having a tough year, but note that he is 6-2 with a 2.83 ERA in 14 starts against the Braves who are hitting just .233 against left-handers on the season. Atlanta lefty Max Fried (6-0, 1.98 ERA) is having a great year and he is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in 12 games (seven starts) against the Mets who are hitting right-hander better than left-handers. Under is 5-1 in Braves last 6 road games vs. a left-handed starter. Under is 5-2 in the last 7 head-to-head meetings at Citi Field. 10* play on UNDER. |
09-15-20 | Cardinals v. Brewers OVER 8.5 | 3-18 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers split a doubleheader on Monday. I do however think the Cards have a nice edge in Tuesday's matchup. St. Louis right-hander Jack Flaherty (3-1, 3.08 ERA) has allowed two or fewer runs in five of six starts on the season and never more than three. He owns a 4.68 ERA in previous meetings with Milwaukee but he has its current roster limited to a .239 batting average over 68 at bats. Additionally, the Brewers are 0-6 in their last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. Left-hander Brett Anderson (2-3, 4.64 ERA) will take the mound for the Brew Crew. Anderson took on the Cardinals on Sep 6 when he gave up four runs on six hits through five innings of a 4-1 loss. The Cardinals are 13-6 in their last 19 games vs. a left-handed starter and look good to get the better of Anderson again. In addition to the Cardinals to win the game, I also like the over. 8* play on OVER. |
09-14-20 | Pirates v. Reds UNDER 6 | 1-3 | Win | 110 | 5 h 13 m | Show
PIRATES @ REDS GAME 1 - EARLY BANKROLL BUILDER This is the first game of a double-header, and as such it will go only seven innings. The Pirates have scored just eight runs through their last four games and were shut out at Kansas City on Sunday. The Cincinnati Reds are coming off a 10-5 win at St. Louis but had scored only 24 runs over their previous six (four runs per game). With only seven innings, this will be mostly about the starting pitchers and both Pittsburgh's Cody Ponce and Reds' Trevor Bauer are having solid seasons. Ponce (1-1, 3.46 ERA) is coming off 5 2/3 scoreless innings of five-hit ball at St. Louis while Bauer (4-3, 1.74 ERA) is coming off 7 2/3 shutout innings of three-hit ball at Chicago Cubs. 8* play on UNDER 6. |
09-13-20 | Indians v. Twins UNDER 8 | Top | 5-7 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 39 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (MLB) - INDIANS @ TWINS TOTAL TOP PLAY The Minnesota Twins are going for the sweep on Sunday after winning the first two games of the series 3-1 and 8-4. The under is 39-16-3 in the last 58 meetings between these two clubs and I expect this to be another low-scoring affair. Minnesota righty Michael Pineda (1-0, 2.77 ERA) owns a 2.81 ERA in three career starts against the Indians who's 23-year-old right-hander Triston McKenzie (2-0, 2.57 ERA) will make his first career start against Minnesota. McKenzie has had a very encouraging rookie season with just 11 hits allowed while punching out 26 over his 21 innings of work. Additionally, both bullpens are among the best in baseball with Cleveland's in 4th with a 3.50 ERA and Minnesota's in 7th with a 3.69 ERA. 10* play on UNDER 8. |
09-13-20 | Pirates v. Royals UNDER 9 | 0-11 | Loss | -115 | 3 h 29 m | Show
PIRATES @ ROYALS TOTAL BOOKIE BLA$TER The Kansas City Royals have been rather effective on the plate through a five-game winning streak. I don't think they'll have quite as much success here as they get their first look of Pittsburgh right-hander Chad Kuhl (1-1, 3.38 ERA) who has given up one run or fewer in five of his eight outings. Kansas City counters with right-hander Brad Keller (3-2, 2.60 ERA) who gave up five runs at Cleveland last time out, but note his 0.50 ERA in three home starts on the season. Additionally, neither bullpen is terrible with Royals' ranking 11th and Pirates' 16th. Under is 9-1-1 in Pirates last 11 Sunday games. Under is 5-0 in Royals last 5 Sunday games. Under is 10-4 in the last 14 meetings. 8* play on UNDER 9. |
09-09-20 | Royals v. Indians UNDER 8 | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 9 h 56 m | Show
ROYALS VS INDIANS WEDNESDAY NIGHT BOOKIE BA$HER TOTAL The Cleveland Indians are 27-12-3 to the under on the season, including 9-3-1 in games with a total of eight runs or lower. Cleveland righty Carlos Carrasco (2-3, 3.43 ERA) has allowed just one run through 12 innings in his last two starts combined. KC southpaw Danny Duffy (2-3, 4.83 ERA) has been lit up in his last two starts, but he should be able to handle a Cleveland side that ranks in the bottom third for batting average, on-base percentage, and home runs. Under is 4-1 in Royals last 5 games with the total set at 7.0-8.5 runs and 15-7-2 in Royals last 24 overall. 8* play on UNDER 8. |
09-07-20 | Yankees v. Blue Jays UNDER 9 | Top | 7-12 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
YANKEES VS BLUE JAYS TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The New York Yankees are struggling to put runs on the board without injured Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. Over their last four games, the Bronx Bombers have scored just a total of six runs and here they'll come up against left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu who's having a terrific year. Through his last six starts, Ryu (3-1, 2.51 ERA) has allowed a total of just four earned runs. The Yankees counter with left-hander Jordan Montgomery (2-2, 5.76 ERA) who was lit up for four runs on five hits while recording just two outs before getting chased off the mound last time out. He is however 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA in four career outings (three starts) against Toronto. Under is 9-2-1 in Yankees last 12 games as a road underdog and 5-1 in their last 6 games vs. a left-handed starter. Under is 4-1-1 in Blue Jays last 6 games as a home favorite. 10* play on UNDER 9. |
09-04-20 | Padres v. A's UNDER 8 | 7-0 | Win | 102 | 12 h 11 m | Show
LATE NIGHT PADRES VS ATHLETICS TOTAL The Oakland Athletics have scored just eight runs through their last three games. Here they'll face Padres righty Zach Davies (5-2, 2.61 ERA) who's having a solid year, particularly under the lights where he has compiled a 2.23 ERA in six starts. The A's counter with left-hander Jesus Luzardo (2-1, 3.74 ERA) who has been lights out home at Oakland Coliseum, sitting on a 1.90 ERA in five outings (three starts). 8* play on UNDER 8. |
09-01-20 | Tigers v. Brewers UNDER 9.5 | 12-1 | Loss | -114 | 7 h 4 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The Detroit Tigers have won five straight and seven of their last nine games. Few experts (if anyone) expected much of them this season, but they have a shot at a wild-card slot and I like the price we get on the Tigers to upset Milwaukee Tuesday night. The Brewers hand the ball to right-hander Josh Lindblom (1-2, 6.31 ERA) who has lost each of his last two starts, surrendering five runs over eight innings in the process. The Tigers counter with Michael Fulmer (0-0, 8.79 ERA) who is on a three innings limit and likely to be followed by left-hander Daniel Norris (2-1, 2.40 ERA). Fulmer has not had a great start to the season, but the Tigers have still managed to win three of his five starts. Additionally, I like the under as Under is 12-3 in Tigers last 15 road games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. 8* play on UNDER 9.5. |
08-31-20 | Nationals v. Phillies OVER 10 | 6-8 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
MONDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL BOOKIE BLA$TER The Washington Nationals are coming off a 9-5 loss at Boston while the Philadelphia Phillies took a 12-10 loss to Atlanta on Sunday. I think we'll see a high-scoring affair here in the opener of this four-game set. The Phillies hand the ball to rookie right-hander Spencer Howard (0-1, 6.17 ERA) for his fourth career start. Howard is coming off a solid outing against Toronto, but he had allowed four runs in each of his first two starts. Erick Fedde (1-2, 3.57 ERA) will take the ball for the Nats. He went five innings against the Phillies in his most recent start, through which he gave up seven hits and four runs. Over is 11-1 in Nationals last 12 games as a road underdog. Over is 10-1 in Nationals last 11 road games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. 8* play on OVER 10. |
08-25-20 | Dodgers v. Giants OVER 9 | 8-10 | Win | 100 | 11 h 23 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY The Los Angeles Dodgers are 11-3 SU and 9-5 against the runline as road favorites in 2020. Tonight they hand the ball to Julio Urias (2-0, 2.74 ERA) who has had a solid start to the year, and the left-hander owns a 1.48 ERA in 14 games against the Giants who counter with Johnny Cueto (2-0, 4.35 ERA). Cueto gave up four runs on two hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings at Dodger Stadium earlier this month. The Giants are riding a six-game winning streak, but the Dodgers are not much worse off having won four in a row and 11 of 12. The Dodgers will be looking to distance themselves from their division rivals, and I expect to see a fully focused LA side in San Francisco tonight. In addition to the Dodgers RL, I also like the over. Over is 5-1 in Dodgers last 6 games as a road favorite and 4-0 in Dodgers last 4 road games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. Over is 7-3-2 in Giants last 12 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5. 8* play on OVER 9. |
08-24-20 | Twins v. Indians UNDER 8.5 | Top | 3-2 | Win | 110 | 17 h 40 m | Show |
MONDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL PLAY OF THE DAY The Cleveland Indians are averaging 4.03 runs per game and they are hitting .215 off right-handers. Minnesota right-hander Kenta Maeda (3-0, 2.27 ERA) fanned 12 through eight innings of one-run ball against Milwaukee last time out, and he limited Minnesota to one hit over six scoreless frames in a 3-0 win on August 1. Aaron Civale (3-2, 2.91 ERA) will toe the slab for the Tribe. Civale held Pittsburgh to one run on five hits in a complete game last time out. He owns a 2.65 ERA in three career starts against Minnesota. Under is 18-9-1 in Minnesota games on the season and 19-7-1 in games involving Cleveland. 8* play on UNDER. |
08-21-20 | Phillies v. Braves UNDER 8 | Top | 2-11 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 20 m | Show |
GAME OF THE WEEK (MLB) - TOP RATED MAJOR WAGER TOTAL The Phillies Aaron Nola (2-1, 2.05 ERA) fanned eight through seven shutout innings of three-hit ball against the Mets last time out. He has allowed just a pair of runs through his last three starts and he has 37 Ks through 26 1/3 innings of work on the season. Nola owns a .82 ERA in 19 career starts against the Braves who counter with Max Fried (3-0, 1.24 ERA). The 26-year-old southpaw has allowed only four runs through 29 frames in 2020 and both of his last two starts have been of the scoreless variety. 10* play on UNDER 8. |
08-20-20 | Indians v. Pirates UNDER 8 | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 42 m | Show |
THURSDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Cleveland Indians have been money for under backers all season as they're 17-6-1 to the under in 2020. Shane Bieber (4-0, 1.30 ERA) has been one of the best pitchers in baseball and he's knocking out hitters left and right with 40 Ks through 28 2/3 innings of work. He figures to have another good game here against a Pittsburgh team that ranks dead last in the MLB with only 3.91 runs/9 innings. Cleveland is only marginally better with its 4.00 runs/9 innings, and Pittsburgh righty Trevor Williams (1-3, 3.98 ERA) is a decent enough pitcher for me to comfortably back the under in this contest. 10* play on UNDER. |
08-20-20 | Tigers v. White Sox UNDER 8.5 | 0-9 | Loss | -113 | 4 h 21 m | Show
SUPER EARLY TIGERS VS WHITE SOX TOTAL I think runs will come at a premium in this Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox matchup Thursday afternoon. White Sox righty Lucas Giolito (1-2, 4.88 ERA) has three solid and two poor starts on the season. He should have no trouble shutting down this Detroit team that ranks 28th in the majors with 10.31 strikeouts per game. The White Sox are averaging 9.78 strikeouts per game (24th) and they'll face Spencer Turnbull (2-1, 2.78 ERA) who has had a great start to the season. He has made two day starts through which he has allowed only two runs on eights hits with 12 Ks through 12 innings of work. Three of Turnbull's four starts overall this season have gone under the total and the under is 4-1 in White Sox last 5 games vs. a right-handed starter. Under is 11-3 in Tigers last 14 games as a road underdog and 8-3 in their last 11 road games vs. a right-handed starter. 8* play on UNDER 8.5. |
08-18-20 | Mariners v. Dodgers OVER 9.5 | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 13 h 16 m | Show |
MAJOR WAGER ALERT - TUESDAY MLB TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Seattle Mariners 11-9 on Monday. I think runs will come fast and easy for both teams again here in Game 2 of the series. Mariners' left-hander Marco Gonzales (2-2, 3.97 ERA) gave up four runs on seven hits in five innings at Texas last time out. I don't like his chances of slowing down a Dodgers team that has averaged 8.2 runs per game through a six-game winning streak. The Mariners have struggled to score runs this season but yesterday's outing was promising. Here they get a look at Tony Gonsolin (0-0, 0.00 ERA) who has yet to allow a run this season, but that's over a small sample of 8 2/3 frames. Over is 9-2-1 in Mariners last 12 road games vs. a right-handed starter. Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. 10* play on OVER 9.5. |
08-16-20 | Indians v. Tigers UNDER 9.5 | Top | 8-5 | Loss | -112 | 4 h 34 m | Show |
MLB 3-PACK - TOTAL TOP PLAY OF THE DAY The Cleveland Indians are 16-5 to the under on the season. I predict that Sunday's matchup with the Detroit Tigers will be another relatively low-scoring affair. Cleveland right-hander Adam Plutko (1-1, 2.45 ERA) is off to a hot start to the year and Michael Fulmer showed some promise last time out when he tossed three scoreless innings against the White Sox. Fulmer owns a 6.62 ERA in eight career starts against the Indians, but we shouldn't see all that much of his as he's on a pitch count while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Detroit's bullpen is top 10 in baseball with a 3.51 ERA, and Cleveland's is top five with a 2.88 ERA. 10* play on UNDER 9.5. |
08-13-20 | Orioles v. Phillies OVER 9.5 | Top | 11-4 | Win | 100 | 17 h 29 m | Show |
GAME OF THE MONTH (MLB) - TOP RATED MAJOR WAGER TOTAL The Baltimore Orioles and the Philadelphia Phillies failed came one run short of pushing the score over the posted total yesterday, but I think they'll get the job done in Thursday's finale of this three-game set. Baltimore righty Tom Eshelman (0-0, 3.68 ERA) was not at his very best when he allowed two runs on five hits with two Ks in four innings against the Nats last time out. He has pitched only 7 1/3 through his two starts on the season, and when Eshelman is done he'll hand over the ball to a bullpen that ranks 19th in the league with a 4.41 ERA. Still, Baltimore's relievers have been sharper than the Phillies who wank dead last across the major leagues with a 10.19 ERA! Philadelphia starter Jake Arrieta (1-1, 2.45 ERA) has had a solid start to the year, but the Orioles have shown they can get to just about any pitcher this year. Last but not least, note Baltimore's .307 batting average and .386 on-base percentage in day games this season, both the best marks in baseball.  10* play on OVER. |
08-12-20 | Orioles v. Phillies OVER 9.5 | 5-4 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 25 m | Show
ORIOLES @ PHILLIES WEDNESDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL The Baltimore Orioles and the Philadelphia Phillies opened this series with a 19-run affair. I think we'll see another slugfest here in Game 2 Wednesday night. Baltimore left-hander Wade LeBlanc (1-0, 6.91 ERA) has been lit up in two of his first three starts. Last time out he gave up six runs on seven hits in an 8-7 Orioles loss to Miami. As for Phillies righty Zach Eflin (0-0, 0.00 ERA), he has made only one start, on August 7, in which he tossed four scoreless innings against the Yankees. Eflin figures to have less success here against a Baltimore team that has been swinging hot bats lately, and LeBlanc is sure to be busy as the Phillies rank 2nd in baseball for runs scored. 8* play on OVER. |
08-11-20 | Cubs v. Indians UNDER 9 | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show
SUBSCRIBERS ONLY Cleveland's Adam Plutko (1-0, 2.57) will make his second start (third appearance) of the season. In his previous start, he held the White Sox to two runs through six innings. Cubs' lefty Jon Lester (1-0, 0.82 ERA) has two solid starts under his belt with only one run conceded on four hits through 11 innings of work. Cleveland is 14-3 to the under on the season. Both teams had Monday off and the under is 13-3 in Cubs last 16 games following an off day. 8* play on UNDER. |
08-10-20 | Padres v. Dodgers UNDER 8.5 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show
PADRES @ DODGERS MONDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL The under is 7-2 in the last nine head-to-head meetings at Dodgers Stadium and I think this will be another low-scoring affair. Padres' righty Garrett Richards (0-1, 4.60 ERA) owns a 2.55 ERA in seven career outings (five starts) against the Dodgers while Dodgers' righty right-hander Dustin May (1-0, 2.63 ERA) owns a 3.32 ERA in previous meetings with San Diego. The Dodgers are coming off a 6-2 win over San Francisco and the under is 9-3-2 in their last 14 after scoring five runs or more in their previous game. The under is 24-9-1 in Padres last 34 games as a road underdog. 8* play on UNDER. |
08-09-20 | Indians v. White Sox UNDER 7.5 | Top | 5-4 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 8 m | Show |
INDIANS VS WHITE SOX - NIGHT NIGHT BASEBALL BEST BET The Cleveland Indians are 14-2 to the under on the season and I think runs will come a premium for both sides once again in this matchup with the Chicago White Sox. White Sox righty Lucas Giolito (1-1, 5.17 ERA) has recovered nicely since getting knocked around in his season debut. In his two most recent starts, Giolito has allowed only two runs on eight hits with 15 Ks through 12 innings of work. Cleveland counters with Shane Bieber (3-0, 0.83 ERA) who has been one of the hottest pitchers in baseball.  10* play on UNDER. |
08-09-20 | Astros v. A's UNDER 8.5 | 2-7 | Loss | -120 | 9 h 11 m | Show
ASTROS @ ATHLETICS MLB BOOKIE BLA$TER The Houston Astros are coming off four straight losses and have only scored three runs through the first two games of this series. Runs won't be easy to come by here in the finale of this three-game series either, facing Oakland left-hander Jesus Luzardo (0-0, 2.31 ERA) who tossed five scoreless innings of two-hit ball against Texas in his season debut. Cristian Javier (1-0, 1.42 ERA) will take the ball for Houston for his third start of the season. Through the previous two, he has allowed only a pair of runs on six hits with 10 Ks through 11 2/3 frames. Under is 5-0 in Astros last 5 games as an underdog. Under is 5-1 in Athletics last 6 games vs. a right-handed starter. 8* play on UNDER. |
08-08-20 | Indians v. White Sox UNDER 9 | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show
SUPER EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON MLB TOTAL The Cleveland Indians are 12-2 to the under on the season. They're scoring just 3.36 runs per game and shut out in Friday's 2-0 loss to the White Sox. Today they'll come up against Chicago right-hander Matt Foster who has pitched 3 2/3 scoreless innings as a reliever this season. He's not expected to go Zach Plesac (0-1, 1.80 ERA) will take the ball for the Tribe for his third start on the year. The 25-year-old right-hander has recorded 17 Ks and held opponents to three runs on seven hits and a walk through 15 innings of work. I don't see either team coming up with a ton of runs here and I expect this contest to stay well under the posted total. 8* play on UNDER 9. |
08-06-20 | Reds v. Indians UNDER 7.5 | 0-13 | Loss | -120 | 6 h 44 m | Show
THURSDAY NIGHT MLB TOTAL - REDS @ INDIANS The Cleveland Indians are 12-1 to the under on the season and the first three games of this four-game home-and-home series have produced a total of only 11 runs. The Tribe's Carlos Carrasco (1-1, 3.75 ERA) is a very capable pitcher, as is scheduled Cincinnati starter Luis Castillo (0-1, 4.50 ERA). Cleveland has the second-worst OBS against right-handed pitching and I expect this to be another low-scoring affair involving the Indians. 8* play on UNDER 7.5. |
07-30-20 | Mariners v. Angels OVER 9 | 8-5 | Win | 100 | 17 h 50 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK I like the LA Angels to win this one in dominant fashion. Seattle left-hander Marco Gonzales (0-1, 6.23 ERA) was knocked around for four runs (three earned) in 4 1/3 innings of work against Houston in his season debut. Mike Trout is 12-of-28 off Gonzales and the Angels are 6-1 in their last seven home games vs. a left-handed starter. Dylan Bundy (1-0, 1.35 ERA) takes the ball for the Halos, looking to build on a solid season debut when he held the A's to one run on three hits with seven Ks through 6 2/3 innings of a 4-1 win. Only five players on this Seattle roster has seen Bundy before, and he has held them to a combined .228 batting average over 34 at bats. Additionally, we have seen a total of 29 runs through the first two games and I think we'll see plenty of fireworks in this one as well. 8* play on OVER 9. |
07-30-20 | Red Sox v. Mets OVER 9 | 4-2 | Loss | -120 | 14 h 16 m | Show
MLB 3-PACK The Boston Red Sox snapped a four-game losing streak with a 6-5 win over the New York Mets on Wednesday. I expect another high-scoring affair in Thursday's matchup. Red Sox left-hander MartÃn Pérez (0-1, 7.20 ERA) was tagged with five runs (four earned) and six hits in five innings of a 7-2 loss to Baltimore in his season debut. He'll be opposed by left-hander Steven Matz (0-0, 1.50 ERA) who was outstanding in his season debut, but the Red Sox should be able to get to a Mets' bullpen that has posted a 6.39 ERA. 8* play on OVER 9. |
07-28-20 | Cardinals v. Twins OVER 10 | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -112 | 15 h 8 m | Show |
TUESDAY NIGHT MLB BOOKIE BREAKER TOP PLAY The Minnesota Twins have been swinging hot bats scoring a total of 27 runs scored through their first three games. Here they'll get to hit off Carlos Martinez who is returning to the rotation after a season in the bullpen. While Martinez is a solid pitcher, I don't see him slowing down this Twins team. As for the Cards, they've scored 15 runs in three games and here they'll get a look at Homer Bailey who made 31 starts last season, going 13-9 with a 4.57 ERA. They've had a good amount of success in previous matchups with Bailey who is 6-16 with a 5.80 ERA against St. Louis. St. Louis took a 5-1 loss to the Pirates on Sunday and over is 6-2 in its last 8 after scoring 2 runs or fewer in its previous game. 10* play on OVER 10. |
07-27-20 | Mets v. Red Sox OVER 11 | 7-4 | Push | 0 | 11 h 14 m | Show
METS @ RED SOX MONDAY NIGHT TOTAL BANKROLL BUILDER The New York Mets have scored only five runs through their first five games of the season, but I think they'll be involved in a high-scoring contest here when visiting Boston Monday night. The Red Sox have been swinging hot bats but have opened the season by splitting a four-game set with Baltimore. Boston scored a total of 24 runs through the series but gave up a fair amount of runs as well. Yesterday's starter Ryan Weber lasted only 3 2/3 innings, which could mean a depleted bullpen. As for tonight's pitching matchup, Mets' righty Michael Wacha (2019: 6-7, 4.76 ERA) is regressing and Boston left-hander Josh Osich will make his first career start. Osich is expected put in just a couple of innings, to be followed by right-hander Zack Godley who posted a 5.97 ERA in 2019. 8* play on OVER 11. |
07-23-20 | Giants v. Dodgers UNDER 9.5 | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 1 h 50 m | Show

GAME OF THE MONTH (MLB): MIKE'S TOP RATED WORLD SERIES GAME 3 TOTAL The two teams have opened the World Series by combining for 24 runs through two Washington triumphs at Minute Maid Park, and that despite better pitching matchups than the one we'll see tonight. I expect the hitters will keep dominating this series and push the score over the posted total with ease. Astros' righty Zack Greinke (0-2, 6.43 ERA) has not had a good postseason and no one should trust Washington right-hander Anibal Sanchez (1-0, 0.71 ERA) to shut down a desperate Houston side. Both bullpens have proven vulnerable and unable to keep runners off the bases. Over is 4-0 in Nationals last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter. Over is 4-0 in Astros last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter. Over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Washington. 10* play on OVER. |

GAME OF THE WEEK (MLB): MIKE'S TOP RATED NLCS GAME 3 TOTAL The St. Louis Cardinals and the Washington Nationals combined for just six runs through the first two games of this series (both Nats victories), and I think it's safe to say that runs will come at a premium once again here at Nationals Park Monday night. Cards 23-year-old righty Jack Flaherty (1-1, 2.77 ERA) was outstanding following the All Star break. He posted a sub-1 ERA in both August and September and was solid in the NLDS against the Braves with four runs allowed and 16 Ks over 13 innings of work. As for Nats starter Stephen Strasburg (2-0, 2.40 ERA), the veteran righty has allowed only four runs with 21 Ks over 15 innings of work in the playoffs this year and he held St. Louis to three runs with 15 Ks over 11-plus frames during the regular season. Under is 6-2 in Nationals last 8 overall. Under is 16-6 in Cardinals last 22 road games vs. a right-handed starter. Under is 13-4-2 in Flaherty's last 19 starts overall. Under is 5-2-1 in Strasburg's last 8 starts overall. 10* play on UNDER. |

10-12-19 | Nationals v. Cardinals UNDER 7 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 105 | 14 h 43 m | Show |
NATIONALS @ CARDINALS NLCS GAME 2 *TOP PLAY* The St. Louis Cardinals were shut out and were no-hit until the seventh inning in the Washington Nationals 2-0 win in the opener of this NLCS Friday night. I expect another low-scoring contest in Game 2. Nats righty Max Scherzer (1-0, 2.77 ERA) held the Dodgers to one run and four hits over seven innings in the NLDS and owns a 3.31 ERA in 11 career meetings with the Cards. As for St. Louis starter Adam Wainwright (0-0, 0.00 ERA), the veteran right-hander held Atlanta to four hits over 7 2/3 shutout innings in their NLDS series and he has a 1.35 ERA versus Washington this season. Under is 5-1-1 in Scherzer's last 7 road starts. Under is 18-7-1 in Wainwright's last 26 starts vs. a team with a winning record. Under is 8-3 in Cardinals last 11 playoff home games. Under is 6-0-1 in the last 7 meetings. 10* play on UNDER. |

10-09-19 | Cardinals v. Braves UNDER 8 | Top | 13-1 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 3 m | Show |
CARDINALS @ BRAVES NLDS GAME 5 TOTAL *TOP PLAY* The Atlanta Braves host the St. Louis Cardinals for the finale of their NLDS Wednesday. The pitching matchup is the same as in Game 2, a contest the Braves won 3-0, and I predict another low-scoring encounter. Cards righty Jack Flaherty (11-8, 2.75 ERA) had an epic second half of the season during which he went 7-2 with a minuscule 0.91 ERA. Braves righty Mike Foltynewicz (8-6, 4.54 ERA) outdueled Flaherty in Game 2 with seven shutout innings and he had a 1.73 ERA over his last seven regular-season starts. Under is 13-3-2 in Flaherty's last 18 starts overall. Under is 15-7-1 in Braves last 23 games vs. a right-handed starter. Under is 4-1-1 in Foltynewicz's last 6 starts overall. Under is 16-5 in Cardinals last 21 road games vs. a right-handed starter. 10* play on UNDER. |
