04-08-24 | Purdue v. Connecticut -6.5 | 60-75 | Win | 100 | 19 h 12 m | Show
This is a 3* play on UCONN. The Huskies are 36-3 and all three of their losses came on the road. They have been crushing the opposition, winning 11 straight NCAA Tournament games by double digits. Purdue on the other hand has struggled at times against Tennessee and Wisconsin in the BIG10 Tourney. Zack Edey has been dominant, but he draws a tougher matchup here against another 7-foot star in Donovan Clingan. The Huskies held San Diego State to 24 points in the first half of the Natty last year. One of these teams has championship pedigree and the other has a history of choking in big games. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-21-24 | NC State v. Texas Tech -4.5 | 80-67 | Loss | -120 | 38 h 43 m | Show
This is a 4* play on TTU. Congratulations to NC State for doing the impossible and winning five games in five days to win the ACC Tournament and sneak into the NCAA Tourney. When is that last time we saw such a thing? How about two years ago when Virginia Tech did the same thing, only to be knocked out in the first round by a BIG12 team? Yeah it was a down year in the ACC, and the Wolpack had a losing record in conference play. Texas Tech is one of the best teams in the best conference in the country. They are the best in the BIG12 from the free throw line, and right up there in three-point shooting. This is a mismatch and Cinderella is gonna turn into a pumpkin as the clock strikes midnight.... Good Night! GL, Jesse Schule |
03-05-24 | Nevada v. Boise State -5.5 | 76-66 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 53 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Boise. The Broncos are tied with Utah State for the best record in the Mountain West, and they play their final home game tonight against Nevada. The Wolfpack have won five straight including road wins at Colorado State and UNLV. Their starting PG Kenan Blackshear has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, and he is questionable for tonight's game. The Broncos are 5-1 straight up in the last six head to head meetings and they are 3-0 at home during that span. Both these teams are allowing 66.6 points per game, ranking 2nd in the Mountain West in opponent's scoring. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-05-24 | Liberty v. Middle Tennessee +5.5 | 61-69 | Win | 100 | 18 h 12 m | Show
This is a 3* play on MTSU. The Blue Raiders have won five straight home games, and yet they are an underdog against a Liberty team that is just 2-7 on the road. The Flames have been favored in each of their last five road games, and they lost all five of those. Final home game for Middle Tennessee, getting points... sign me up. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-02-24 | Marquette v. Creighton -4.5 | 75-89 | Win | 100 | 6 h 46 m | Show
The Blue Jays are 13-2 at home, and that includes a blowout win over then #1 ranked UCONN. They were catching the Huskies in a tough spot, and they catch Marquette in a similar spot here today. The Blues Jays only home losses came in OT to Villanova, and by one point versus Butler. They were leading at halftime in both those games. Marquette is coming off a big win over Providence, and they are in a sandwich spot here with UCONN on deck. That home game against UCONN is a revenge spot, as well as the Golden Eagles final home game. Then you have starting PG Tyler Kolek likely to miss this game with an oblique injury, and we can expect a let down here at Creighton. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-28-24 | South Carolina +4 v. Texas A&M | Top | 70-68 | Win | 100 | 29 h 30 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on SOCAR. The Gamecocks are just one game out of first place in the SEC, and they are an underdog on the road at Texas A&M. The Aggies have lost four straight, and that includes a home loss to Arkansas. This is a revenge game for the Gamecocks, after losing at home to Texas A&M in January. South Carolina had won eight of the previous nine meetings between the two teams. These two teams are trending in opposite directions, and I'll take the points with the better team. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-21-24 | Georgia v. Vanderbilt +1.5 | 76-64 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 45 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Vandy. The Bulldogs bring a six game losing streak into tonight's game at Vanderbilt, and they have struggled against the Commodores in recent seasons. Vanderbilt has won four in a row versus Georgia, covering the spread in three of those four wins. The Commodores have struggled this season, but their last home game was an impressive win over Texas A&M. They have covered the spread in three of their last four home games, and this looks like a good spot to back the home underdog in a very winnable game. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-17-24 | Liberty v. Sam Houston State +4.5 | 73-83 | Win | 100 | 19 h 48 m | Show
This is a 3* play on SHSU. Sam Houston is a half game out of first place in the C-USA, and they are 9-2 at home. They have beat the best teams in the conference at home (Western Kentucky and LA-Tech). Liberty comes in as a favorite, despite a 2-5 road record. It's fair to say that this Liberty team is overrated. They have been favored in four of their last five road games. They went 0-5 ATS and 1-4 straight up in those games. This looks like a clear case of the wrong team favored, and worthy of a sprinkle on the moneyline. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-17-24 | Kansas v. Oklahoma +2 | 67-57 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 44 m | Show
This is a 3* play on Oklahoma. Kansas is no longer the cream of the crop in the BIG12, and they find themselves in a tough spot here on the road at Oklahoma. Even at full strength, this team has struggled on the road losing five of seven. Their most recent road game was a 29 point loss at Texas Tech. Leading scorer Kevin McCullar Jr. didn't play, and he's still dealing with a bone bruise. Bill Self expressed optimism that McCullar can return to the lineup, but suggested his role might be limited. The Sooners are 13-2 at home, and just a game back of Kansas in the BIG12 standings. No way Kansas should be the favorite in this spot. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-17-24 | New Mexico State v. Western Kentucky -9 | 58-72 | Win | 100 | 15 h 25 m | Show
This is a 3* play on WKU. The Hilltoppers host New Mexico State, and this is the ultimate revenge spot. I bet on New Mexico State in the last meeting, and I was fortunate to be on the right side of one of one of the wildest comebacks this conference has ever seen. The Aggies trailed by 23 points five minutes into the second half at home, and rallied to win the game outright. This team is 0-11 on the road, and I don't think they can count on another miracle here in Kentucky. The Hilltoppers are 11-1 at home, and their last home game was a double digit win over UTEP. Western Kentucky has covered in five of six, while the Aggies are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-13-24 | New Mexico v. Nevada | Top | 83-82 | Loss | -110 | 31 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on NEV. The Wolfpack are 12-1 at home, and they have a revenge game on tap against New Mexico on Tuesday. The Lobos crushed Nevada at home earlier this season by a score of 89-55. The Wolfpack had won nine straight versus New Mexico prior to that. Nevada has won four of five, and three of those four wins came against ranked teams (San Diego State, Utah State and Colorado State). New Mexico has lost two of three, with their only win during that span coming at Wyoming. This looks like two teams trending in opposite directions, and a significant edge for the home team. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-04-24 | UABÂ +7.5 v. SMU | Top | 69-72 | Win | 100 | 17 h 8 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on UAB. The Blazers have won 10 of their last 12 games, and they are coming off an outright win as an underdog at North Texas. They had previously lost on the road at Charlotte by just six, and covered as a double digit underdog at FAU. Overall the Blazers are 4-3 on the road this season, and they have won seven straight against SMU. That includes three outright wins at SMU. The Mustangs are 10-2 at home, but their last home game was a four point win over Tulane. It looks like the home team is asked to cover too many points here. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-03-24 | Oregon v. UCLA +1.5 | 63-71 | Win | 100 | 20 h 59 m | Show
This is a 4* play on UCLA. The Bruins have been futile offensively at times this season, but they come into Saturday's home game against Oregon as winners of four of their last five overall. The one loss came on the road at Arizona in a close game. The Bruins lost 64-59 at Oregon earlier this season, and that sets up a revenge angle here at home. The Ducks have lost three of their last four at UCLA and the one win came in overtime. The Ducks have been hit hard by the injury bug, putting their depth to the test. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-03-24 | Liberty v. UTEP +5 | 67-65 | Win | 100 | 19 h 41 m | Show
This is a 4* play on UTEP. The Liberty Flames have struggled in their first year in the C-USA, and after losing five of seven games and going 0-4 on the road, they have no business coming into tonight's game asked to cover a handful of points. UTEP is 11-1 overall at home, and 3-0 at home in conference play. The teams they have beaten at home (WKU, JVST & MTU) all sit higher in the C-USA standings than Liberty. This looks like another clear case of the wrong team favored. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-03-24 | South Florida +6.5 v. North Texas | 60-55 | Win | 100 | 16 h 51 m | Show
This is a 4* play on USF. The Bulls come into North Texas as winners of 12 of their last 13 overall. That includes upset wins over the likes of Florida State and Memphis. The one game they did lose came on the road at UAB by just four points. UAB just handed North Texas a home loss. I don't think the bookmakers give the Bulls enough credit, and I like their chances of keeping this game within the number if not winning outright. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-02-24 | Ohio State v. Iowa -5 | 77-79 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 14 m | Show
This is a 4* play on IOWA. These teams both rank near the bottom of the BIG10, but Iowa is still a tough nut to crack when they play at home. They are 9-3 at home, losing to Purdue, Maryland and Michigan. Their wins have all come by five or more points, beating Rutgers by nine and Nebraska by 18. Ohio State is 0-5 on the road, and they are coming off three straight double digit losses. They lost by 25 at Northwestern and by 14 at Nebraska in their last two road games. The Buckeyes are 1-6 straight up in their last seven, and all six losses came by 5+ points. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-31-24 | Florida v. Kentucky -5.5 | Top | 94-91 | Loss | -115 | 18 h 32 m | Show |
This is a 5* play on UK. The Gators lost at home to Kentucky earlier this season, so is this a revenge spot? I don't like the revenge angle here, as Kentucky is the far better team and Florida struggles on the road. The Gators have lost three of four road games this season, and they were 4-7 on the road last year. Kentucky is 9-1 SU in the last 10 head to head meetings, and they have covered in five straight and eight of the last 10 versus Florida. The Gators rank dead last in the SEC in opponent's scoring, and Kentucky ranks second in the conference in scoring averaging over 88 points per game. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-24-24 | Colorado v. Washington +3.5 | Top | 98-81 | Loss | -115 | 22 h 12 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on WASH. So Colorado might well be the better team here, but they have no business coming in to Seattle as a road favorite. The Huskies only home loss in conference play came by just two points versus Oregon. They beat Gonzaga in a home game outside of the PAC12. Colorado has lost all four road games so far this season, and has dropped four of their last five at Washington. This appears to be a case of the wrong team favored. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-14-24 | Washington -1 v. UCLA | 61-73 | Loss | -108 | 16 h 50 m | Show
This is a 4* play on WASH. The UCLA Bruins have lost four straight, and eight of their last nine overall. During that span they scored an average of 52 points per game. They haven't given us any indication that they can turn things around, as it's tough to win games when you can't score. Washington comes in off a home win over Arizona State. Washington comes in scoring over 81 points per game on 47 percent shooting, while the Bruins rank dead last in the PAC12 shooting just 41 percent from the field and averaging 64 points per game. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-06-24 | Auburn v. Arkansas +3 | 83-51 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 49 m | Show
This is a 4* play on ARK. Auburn comes into Arkansas as a favorite asked to cover points despite losing four of the last five meetings, and having not won at Arkansas in the last three seasons. The Razorbacks are 7-1 at home, including a win over Duke without their leading scorer. Even though they finished in the bottom half of the standings in the SEC last year, their home record of 14-3 was right up there with the top teams. Auburn has lost seven straight road games, and this looks like a case of the wrong team favored. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-29-23 | Washington State v. Utah -6.5 | Top | 58-80 | Win | 100 | 23 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Utah. Both these teams are 9-2, but Utah has more impressive wins. They won at St. Mary's and they beat #14 ranked BYU. The Utes are 6-0 at home, and they won by 14 in the most recent meeting versus WSU last January. Utah is 8-2 straight up, and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 versus the Cougars. This will be the first true road game for Washington State, and they were 4-8 on the road last year. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-16-23 | Florida Atlantic -9 v. St Bonaventure | 64-54 | Win | 100 | 9 h 60 m | Show
This is a 4* play on FAU. The Owls are off to an impressive 8-2 start to the season, and six of those eight wins came by double digits. Their last loss came at a neutral site versus Illinois, and the Illini shot over 63 percent from the field. Despite that the final score was relatively close (98-89). They are simply in a different class than this St. Bonnies squad, that faces a ranked team for the first time. The Bonnies lost by 17 to unranked Auburn. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-15-23 | New Mexico v. New Mexico State +15.5 | 73-72 | Win | 100 | 20 h 17 m | Show
This is a 2* play on NMSU. The Lobos come into this rivalry game with a 9-1 record, and one of those wins was a 44-point blowout at home versus New Mexico State. They could be primed for a bit of a let down here in just their second road game of the season. We don't normally see blowouts in this rivalry, prior to this season the average margin of victory in the previous four head to head meetings was just four points. The Lobos have failed to cover in six of their last seven as a road favorite. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-11-23 | Howard v. Pennsylvania -4.5 | 68-78 | Win | 100 | 13 h 17 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Penn. The Quakers are 6-1 at home, and the one loss came in overtime versus Belmont. They host the Howard Bison who are 1-4 on the road. The Bison have lost 14 of their last 15 versus teams from the Ivy League. The Quakers are 12-1 in their last 13 home games, and they have have won five of their last six versus teams from the Mid East. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-05-23 | North Texas v. Boise State -4.5 | 64-69 | Win | 100 | 13 h 39 m | Show
This is a 4* play on BSU. North Texas is the poor man's version of the Virginia Cavaliers, and that's not a knock on them. They come into Boise as defending NIT champs, and they have won five of seven so far this season. Their two losses came by a combined five points, so why on earth would we be betting on them to lose by 5+ here tonight? Well it is their first road game, and they face a Broncos team that has won 16 of it's last 17 home games. Boise is coming off a neutral site win over St. Mary's, a team that plays a similar style to the Mean Green. We expect a relatively comfortable win for Boise, predicting a final score of 68-60. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-03-23 | Creighton -3.5 v. Nebraska | 89-60 | Win | 100 | 11 h 33 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Creighton. |
12-01-23 | Purdue v. Northwestern +8 | Top | 88-92 | Win | 100 | 30 h 6 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on NW. The Wildcats finished 2nd in the BIG10 last year, and they were 13-5 at home. Northwesters is bringing back leading scorer Boo Buie, along with two more senior starters. Senior guard Ryan Langborg transferred from Princeton, giving them a starting lineup loaded with four seniors. The Boilermakers won two of three meetings last year, but lost the last meeting at Northwestern by a score of 64-58. These teams have a history of playing close games, as only one of the last five head to head meetings has been decided by more than six points. Purdue comes in ranked #1 in the country, and history tells us that can often be the kiss of death. Purdue has failed to cover in five straight road games, while the Wildcats have covered in seven of their last eight at home. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-30-23 | Creighton v. Oklahoma State +8 | 79-65 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 43 m | Show
This is a 4* play on OKST. The Cowboys are just 3-3, and they will play a ranked team for the first time at home tonight. They are getting eight points, and their three losses this season all came by five points or fewer. Creighton is coming off a 21-point loss to unranked Colorado State at a neutral site. This Creighton team is playing it's first true road game, and the Blue Jays lost their first four road games last season. They didn't win a true road game until mid January, and they were 5-6 overall on the road last season. I'll take the home team plus the points. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-29-23 | Duke -5.5 v. Arkansas | 75-80 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 16 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Duke. So Arkansas is coming off back to back losses, to Memphis and North Carolina. Their leading scorer was carted off in the loss to the Tar Heels with a back injury, and he's doubtful to play here. That didn't have much of an effect on the result, as they were losing by double digits in the dying minutes at the time of the injury. Now they host a #7 ranked Duke team that can cause them plenty of problems. Arkansas has failed to cover in six straight, and they have lost eight in a row versus teams ranked in the Top 25. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-28-23 | Notre Dame v. South Carolina -7 | 53-65 | Win | 100 | 16 h 1 m | Show
This is a 4* play on SOCAR. The Gamecocks finished near the bottom of the SEC last year, but they come into tonight's home game against Notre Dame with a 5-0 record. Their leading scorer BJ Mack (F) is a senior transfer from Wofford. Junior guard Meechie Johnsoin is back after averaging 12.7 points last year. He's joined in the backcourt by senior transfer Myles Stute from Vanderbilt. The Gamecocks are certainly a lot more experienced than Notre Dame who is lead by a pair of talented freshmen. The Irish are facing an SEC team for the second time this season, and they lost by 24 in a neutral site game against Auburn. The Irish have lost 10 straight road games and 15 of their last 20 overall. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-27-23 | Maryland-Baltimore County v. Hampton -0.5 | 80-76 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 1 m | Show
This is a 4* play on HAMPTON. The Pirates were just 5-13 in the CAA and 8-24 overall last year. They still posted a winning record at home, and seven of their eight wins were in home games. Their only home game this season was a win over Florida Gulf Coast. They have overhauled their starting lineup to include three seniors, including leading scorer Tedrick Wilcox who came in via transfer. UMBC was just 8-8 in the American East last season, but they lost 10 of their 15 road games. Hampton is 5-1 ATS in their last five home games while UMBC is 1-9 SU in their last 10 on the road. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-26-23 | Butler v. Boise State | 70-56 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 49 m | Show
This is a 4* play on BSU. Boise State won 27 games last year, finishing first in the Mountain West and ranked in the Top 25 in the country. They bring back three of their top four scorers from last year's team, and they look like an early favorite to win the conference again. The Broncos are 3-2 with a pair of losses to ACC teams, and they face a tough opponent Sunday in the Butler Bulldogs. Butler is 4-2 with a pair of losses to ranked teams. Butler finished ninth in the Big East last year, winning 14 games. Only four of those wins came away from home. All five starters are gone, but it remains to be seen if this team is any better. This will be a good test for both teams but I am going to go with the experience of the Broncos. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-25-23 | East Carolina v. George Mason -6 | 59-81 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
This is a 4* play o GMU. George Mason will host the East Carolina Pirates Saturday afternoon, and this will be the first true road game for East Carolina this season. The Pirates were 2-9 on the road last year. George Mason was 14-2 at home last season, and they bring back two senior starters from last year including starting PG Ronald Polite. The Patriots are 3-0 at home, and the average margin of victory in those games was over 13 points. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-24-23 | USC v. Oklahoma | 70-72 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 31 m | Show
This is a 4* play on USC. I bet against Oklahoma yesterday, and here is what I said prior to their win over Iowa: "The Sooners finished dead last in the BIG12 last year, but the majority of the starters from that team have moved on. We can't read much into Oklahoma's 4-0 start as they haven't really played anybody." The Hawkeyes were 4-of-23 from beyond the arc and shot just 35 percent from the field losing 79-67. The Trojans are coming off a 71-63 win over Seton Hall, and they hit 10-of-23 three-pointers in the win. Here is what I said about USC earlier this season: "the Trojans are bringing back 5th year senior Boogie Ellis, and he is joined in the back court by McDonalds All American Isaiah Collier. This USC squad should have an edge in both talent and experience."Â GL, Jesse Schule |
11-23-23 | Oklahoma v. Iowa | 79-67 | Loss | -110 | 24 h 39 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Iowa. The Sooners finished dead last in the BIG12 last year, but the majority of the starters from that team have moved on. We can't read much into Oklahoma's 4-0 start as they haven't really played anybody. Iowa went to Creighton and lost, but played pretty well in a 92-84 loss. Senior forward Ben Krikke has made a huge impact transferring in from Valparaiso. He's leading the Hawkeyes with 20 points per game. Iowa finished Top 5 in the BIG10 last year, and it appears that this program is simply in better shape than Oklahoma at the moment. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-19-23 | Wichita State v. St. Louis +5 | 88-69 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 38 m | Show
This is a 4* play on SLU. I bet against the Shockers in their blowout loss to Liberty on Friday. Here is what I said prior to that game: "The Shockers were just .500 in the American Athletic last season, and the majority of their starting lineup has moved on. New recruits and incoming transfers offer little reason for optimism as far as being a contender in their conference this season, and they may be overmatched here in a tough non-conference game." I think the bookmakers have the wrong team favored in this one. The Bilikens have an experienced starting lineup with returning seniors from last year. While leading scorer Sincere Parker may not play, it's not like the Bilikens are thin at guard. They still have Gibson Jimerson who was the top scorer last year and Freshman Djordje Curcic who played for the Serbian National Team. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-17-23 | St. John's +1 v. Dayton | 81-88 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 51 m | Show
This is a 4* play on SJU. Dayton finished second in the A-1O, and they were 5-6 on the road. The Flyers played on the road just twice in non-conference play last season, losing by a combined 36 points to UNLV and Virginia Tech. St. Johns returns senior center Joel Soriano, who was the leading scorer averaging 15.2 points per game last year. They have surrounded him with several senior transfers who were stars on their respective teams last year. Jordan Dingle (G) averaged 23.4 points per game with PENN last year, and Daniss Jenkins came with coach Pitino from Iona. Iona went a combined 64-22 overall and 40-9 in regular-season conference play under Rick Pitino. Dayton rallied late to come back after trailing LSU BY 15 points midway through the second half yesterday. This could set them up for a let down here on Friday. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-14-23 | Colgate +5.5 v. Syracuse | 75-79 | Win | 100 | 9 h 29 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Colgate. This is a revenge game for Syracuse, as they lost at home versus Colgate in non-conference play last year. Colgate went on to win the Patriot League and made the NCAA Tournament. The Orange have a new head coach, and they lost their leading scorer Joseph Girard and leading rebounder Jesse Edwards. Colgate is bringing back senior forward Keegan Records, sophomore Braenen Smith at guard, and senior forward Ryan Moffatt. I'll take the points here in what should be a close game. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-13-23 | Florida Gulf Coast +9.5 v. Pittsburgh | 74-86 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 11 m | Show
This is a 4* play on FGCU. The Eagles have been known to slay a few giants in the past, and they have an experienced lineup of returning starters who are mostly seniors. They already went to Indiana and gave the Hoosiers a run for their money, losing by six in a game that they were within two in the final 35 seconds. Pittsburgh was one of the best teams in the ACC last year, finishing with the same record as Duke. The Panthers lost their top four guards to graduation, and the names they brought in via transfer don't exactly pop off the page. This looks like too big of a number for a team in transition to be asked to cover. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-10-23 | Dayton v. Northwestern -5 | 66-71 | Push | 0 | 16 h 26 m | Show
This is a 5* play on NW. The Wildcats finished 2nd in the BIG10 last year, and they were 13-5 at home. Dayton finished second in the A-1O, and they were 5-6 on the road. The Flyers played on the road just twice in non-conference play last season, losing by a combined 36 points to UNLV and Virginia Tech. Northwesters is bringing back leading scorer Boo Buie, along with two more senior starters. Senior guard Ryan Langborg transferred from Princeton, giving them a starting lineup loaded with four seniors. They should have their way with an inferior Dayton team here in Evanston. 11-09-23 | Tarleton St v. Florida International -5 | 82-65 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 6 m | Show
This is a 4* play on FIU. The Panthers were a middle of the road team in Conference USA last season, but they were pretty good at home. They won 11 games on their home court (11-7) overall, despite a losing record in conference play. They lost leading scorer Denver Jones in a transfer to Auburn, but bring almost every body else back. Tarleton State was in the middle of the pack in the WAC, but they were just 2-12 on the road last year. Their leading scorer transferred to Arkansas State, and their starting PG graduated. Junior Shamir Bougues also transferred to Vermont. That leaves them replacing their entire backcourt with freshman and role players. I thinking laying five here against a team that lost 86 percent of their road games last year seems like a bargain. GL, Jesse Schule |

11-08-23 | Arizona State v. Mississippi State -3.5 | 56-71 | Win | 100 | 20 h 41 m | Show
This is a 4* play on MISST. The Bulldogs are bringing back leading score Tolu Smith for his senior season, and he is joined by seniors Shakeef Moore, Cameron Mathews, Dashawn Davis and DJ Jeffries. That's right, their entire starting five are back, and they are all seniors. That kind of experience should prove to much for an Arizona State team that lost the majority if it's starters, and has brought in new recruits and transfers that might take time to start to gel. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-06-23 | USC -2.5 v. Kansas State | 82-69 | Win | 100 | 15 h 54 m | Show
This is a 4* play on USC. The Wildcats lost both their top two scorers and their starting PG to the NBA, and they are going to struggle to replace Marquis Nowell. K-State is projected to finish in the bottom half of the BIG12 while USC is expected to contend for a PAC12 Championship. The Trojans are bringing back 5th year senior Boogie Ellis, and he is joined in the back court by McDonalds All American Isaiah Collier. This USC squad should have an edge in both talent and experience, and the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is familiar territory, as the venue for the PAC12 Tournament last year. GL, Jesse Schule |

04-01-23 | Miami-FL v. Connecticut -5.5 | 59-72 | Win | 100 | 104 h 19 m | Show
This is an 8* play on UCONN. The Hurricanes were down by a dozen with just over 10 minutes to go in their Elite-8 win over Texas. They tied the score five minutes later, and never looked back. Miami simply couldn't miss, and Texas just collapsed. I don't see that happening here in the Final Four versus UCONN. Keep in mind that this team started the season 13-0, and that included a win over Alabama. They were ranked #2 in the country. The Huskies are 20-6 ATS in their last 26 NCAA Tournament games, four time National Champions, and they are in the Final Four for the sixth time. They appear to be destined to go to the Final. GL, Jesse Schule |

03-20-23 | Radford v. San Jose State -6.5 | 67-57 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 34 m | Show
This is a 2* play on SJST. My CBI Game of the Year was a winner on San Jose State, and they didn't disappoint. Here is what I said prior to their game against the Screaming Eagles: "I don't think the markets have caught up to this San Jose State team. The Spartans are perennial bottom feeders in the Mountain West, but this year they finished top five in the conference this year, two games ahead of New Mexico and just two games back of Nevada. Both these teams are coming off a loss, but the Spartans are 17-5 ATS in their last 22 games following a straight up loss. The Screaming Eagles are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss. I have to think this is a mismatch." This Radford team has taken a major step back since their improbable NCAA Tournament run, and I think they are biting off more than they can chew here. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-18-23 | Auburn +5.5 v. Houston | 64-81 | Loss | -108 | 42 h 33 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Auburn. If Houston was healthy there would be no way I would want Auburn here. Houston is not healthy, so here I am taking an underdog in the NCAA Tourney. The Cougars just barely escaped their first round matchup versus Northern Kentucky, and leading scorer Marcus Sasser left the game after re-aggravating his groin injury. He says he will play today, but he won't be 100 percent. Jamal Shead is the Cougars starting PG, and while he does not appear on the injury report, he claims to have tweaked his knee against NKU. The Tigers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-18-23 | Southern Indiana v. San Jose State -8.5 | Top | 52-77 | Win | 100 | 10 h 18 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on SJST. I don't think the markets have caught up to this San Jose State team. I have to think this is a mismatch. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-17-23 | Montana State v. Kansas State -8.5 | 65-77 | Win | 100 | 92 h 49 m | Show
This is a 4* play on K-State. The Wildcats are the #3 seed in the East Region, ahead of Duke, Kentucky and Tennessee. We all know that underdogs shock the world in the first round of the NCAA Tournament year after year, but judging by conversations I hear at the water cooler in the office, I don't think you're average Joe actually knows the historical prevalence of such upsets. The fact is that #3 seeds have won 85% of their first round matchups since 1985. The Wildcats come in as one of the top teams in the best conference in the country. They have wins over Kansas, Baylor, Texas and TCU. Montana State won the BIG SKY, but their non conference schedule included two games against an opponent from a major conference. They lost by 20+ points to both Arizona and Oregon. It's hard for me to justify a single digit point spread in this matchup. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-17-23 | UC-Santa Barbara v. Baylor -10.5 | 56-74 | Win | 100 | 81 h 5 m | Show
This is a 3* play on BAY. We saw a pair of double digit seeds win outright on the first day of the NCAA Tournament, and several favorites won and failed to cover. That's a sample size of one freaking day. Dating back to 1985 #3 seeds have won 85 percent of their first round matchups, and the average margin of victory is over 14 points per game. I expect a major correction on Day 2 of the tournament, and I'll take one of the top teams from the best conference in the country as a double digit favorite in a spot where they should be asked to cover a 15 point spread (IMO). The Bears are 6-1 ATS in their last seven NCAA Tournament games. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-16-23 | UL - Lafayette v. Tennessee -10.5 | 55-58 | Loss | -110 | 67 h 1 m | Show
This is a 4* play on TEN. The Vols were 10-3 in their non-conference schedule, with wins over Kansas, Maryland and Texas. They are one of just five teams that beat Alabama this year, and they ranked first in the SEC in opponent's scoring allowing just 58 points per game. Tennessee didn't finish the season strong, and they look vulnerable to an upset at some point in the tournament, but I don't think it's gonna happen against a Sun Belt team in the first round. The Ragin Cajuns played one ranked team this year, losing by 28 to Texas. Asking the Vols to win this game by double digits seems reasonable. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-16-23 | Oral Roberts v. Duke -6 | Top | 51-74 | Win | 100 | 63 h 54 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Duke. By now, everyone knows that #5 seeds are vulnerable to upsets in the first round versus #12 seeds. Maybe that's how ACC Tournament champions Duke open as a single digit favorite and get bet down to -6.5 or -6. I believe the perception doesn't line up with the reality here at the NCAA Tournament. When a double digit seed wins outright it makes headlines, but the other 90 percent of the time it doesn't get talked about. Duke comes in on a nine game winning streak, and the average margin of victory in those games is well over 10 points per game. Oral Roberts has failed to cover in 12 of their last 15 versus teams with a winning percentage of .600 or better. The Golden Eagles covered just twice in their last nine games overall. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-16-23 | Princeton v. Arizona -14 | 59-55 | Loss | -110 | 60 h 8 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Arizona. The Wildcats won their PAC12 Semi Final game against Arizona State by 19 points. They then defeated UCLA in the Final to become PAC12 Champions. Their non conference schedule was no cake walk, with games against Tennessee, Indiana, Creighton and San Diego State. That didn't stop them from going 12-0 in non-conference games. Princeton didn't play any ranked teams, in fact they didn't play any teams from a Power Five conference. This should be a mismatch from start to finish. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-12-23 | Memphis +6 v. Houston | Top | 75-65 | Win | 100 | 14 h 38 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Memphis. The Cougars have won seven of the last 10 meetings straight up, but they have failed to cover in all but one of those games. These teams played just a week ago, and Memphis lost by two with Houston hitting the winner at the buzzer. Leading scorer Marcus played 37 minutes in that game, but he missed yesterday's game against Cincinnati. He will either miss this game, or he will be limited by a groin injury. With Houston's spot in the tournament secure, I see no reason for them to rush him back. The Cougars are 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall, and they have failed to cover in five of their last six coming off a win. I'll take the points, and sprinkle a little on the moneyline. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-11-23 | Vanderbilt +6.5 v. Texas A&M | 75-87 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 55 m | Show
This is a 4* play on VANDY. I had Vandy yesterday, and here is what I said prior to their game against Kentucky: "Momentum is huge in basketball, and few people are probably aware that Vanderbilt might be the hottest team in the country coming into their conference tournament game versus Kentucky Friday. They've won nine of their last 10 overall, and wins came against #6 Tennessee and #23 Kentucky during that span. The Commodores are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 neutral site games." Now I also had Texas A&M yesterday, and I do think the Aggies deserve to come into this game as the favorite. I am not about to step in front of the hottest team in the country here, so I'll take Vandy plus the points. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-10-23 | Vanderbilt +7 v. Kentucky | 80-73 | Win | 100 | 17 h 28 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Vandy. Momentum is huge in basketball, and few people are probably aware that Vanderbilt might be the hottest team in the country coming into their conference tournament game versus Kentucky Friday. They've won nine of their last 10 overall, and wins came against #6 Tennessee and #23 Kentucky during that span. The Commodores are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 neutral site games, while the Wildcats are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 neutral site games. The underdog is 18-7-2 ATS in the last 27 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-09-23 | Villanova +5.5 v. Creighton | 74-87 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 27 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Villanova. These two teams split the season series, but even when Villanova lost at Creighton it was a close game decided by five points. The Wildcats at the end of the season were not the same team as they were at the beginning of the season. Villanova won six of it's last eight games, and the Wildcats covered the spread in four of their last five. History favors Villanova as the underdog is 10-2 ATS in the last 12 meetings. I'll take the points. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-08-23 | Oklahoma +2 v. Oklahoma State | 49-57 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 6 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Oklahoma. The Sooners already lost twice to the Cowboys this season, but things could be different here. Oklahoma State lost five of their last six games, with the only win coming by three points against a Texas Tech team that just suspended their coach. The Cowboys have allowed opponents to average over 80 points per game in their last five. The Sooners were 3-3 in their final six games of the season, five of those games versus ranked teams. They beat #12 K-State, #23 Iowa State, #22 TCU and they lost by just two points at #6 Texas. The Sooners are 7-1 ATS in their last eight neutral site games, while the Cowboys have failed to cover in four straight at neutral sites. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-05-23 | Houston v. Memphis +6 | 67-65 | Win | 100 | 10 h 54 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Memphis. I like the home dog here. I really think the Tigers will be up for this final home game against Conference champs Houston. I don't see any reason for the Cougars to get fired up about this game as they get geared up for tournament season. The home team is 9-1 straight up in the last 10 meetings, and last year Memphis won at home by a score of 75-61. They lost at Houston by just eight points a few weeks ago, asking them to cover six here seems very reasonable. Don't be surprised if the Tigers win outright, a sprinkle on the ML is probably a good idea. GL, Jesse Schule |
03-02-23 | Memphis v. SMU +7 | 81-62 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 22 m | Show
This is a 2* play on SMU. The Mustangs got off to a rough start in the American, but they've been playing a lot better down the stretch. They catch Memphis at the end of the season with a home game against #1 ranked Houston on deck, and the Tigers could get caught looking ahead here. The Mustangs are averaging over 75 points per game in their last five overall, just slightly more than Memphis during that span. While they have won just twice in their last six overall, their only loss during that span that came by more than five points was against Houston. The Tigers are 5-11-2 ATS in their last 18 games overall and they have failed to cover in eight of their last 10 versus a team with a losing record. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-25-23 | St. Mary's v. Gonzaga -5 | Top | 68-77 | Win | 100 | 20 h 29 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on GONZ. |
02-23-23 | Northeastern v. Drexel -5 | Top | 48-75 | Win | 100 | 12 h 23 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Drexel. The Dragons host Northeastern in their final home game of the season, and they have owned this team in recent years. Drexel defeated the Huskies by 21 points on the road earlier this season. They won at home versus Northeastern by 16 points last February. They are 4-0 SU and 4-0 ATS in this series over the last three seasons. The Huskies are coming off a home win over Conference bottom feeder CWM, and they are 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games following an ATS win. Drexel lost it's last game at Hampton, and they are 22-7 ATS in their last 29 games following a straight up loss. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-19-23 | Iowa v. Northwestern +1.5 | 60-80 | Win | 100 | 16 h 49 m | Show
This is a 4* play on NW. The Wildcats sit above Iowa in the BIG10 standings, and they are 12-4 overall at home. Their last two home games were outright wins over Purdue and Indiana, and yet unranked Iowa comes in as a favorite. It might have something to do with the fact that Iowa has won nine straight meetings between the two teams dating back to 2017. That's something not likely lost by the Wildcats who look like they should be the favorite in this game. The Hawkeyes are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games, and the home team is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. Iowa is just 3-5 SU on the road. Wrong team favored! GL, Jesse Schule |
02-19-23 | Ohio State v. Purdue -12 | 55-82 | Win | 100 | 10 h 21 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Purdue. Ohio State is reeling! They have lost 12 of their last 13 overall and they are 1-8 SU on the road. They aren't just losing, they are getting blown out. The Buckeyes have covered the spread just once in their last 12 games, and they have failed to cover in seven straight on the road. Asking the Boilermakers to win by double digits here doesn't seem unreasonable at all. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-16-23 | Ohio State v. Iowa -8 | 75-92 | Win | 100 | 21 h 16 m | Show
This is a 2* play on IOWA. The Buckeyes are now 1-11 in their last 12 games overall. They are coming off a 21-point home loss to Michigan State, and now they are playing on the road at Iowa Thursday. This is a revenge game for the Hawkeyes who lost 93-77 at Ohio State in January. Ohio State has struggled to score, averaging just 60 points per game in their last five overall. That's 20 points [er game less than Iowa has scored during that same span. The Hawkeyes are 12-2 SU at home, outscoring opponents by an average margin of 15 points in those games. The Buckeyes have failed to cover in six straight road games, and they are 0-11 ATS in their last 11 losses. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-15-23 | Indiana v. Northwestern +1.5 | 62-64 | Win | 100 | 13 h 22 m | Show
This is a 3* play on NW. So I had Michigan on Saturday, and they lost 62-61 at home to Indiana. The Wolverines failed to score in the final five minutes of that game. I want to go against the Hoosiers again here as they are the favorite on the road at Northwestern. The Wildcats are 11-4 at home, while Indiana has a losing record on the road. These two teams have the exact same record overall and in conference. Northwestern is 3-1 straight up in the last four versus Indiana, and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings. I think this is a situation where the wrong team is favored. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-08-23 | Tennessee v. Vanderbilt +10.5 | 65-66 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Vanderbilt. |
02-07-23 | TCU v. Kansas State -4.5 | 61-82 | Win | 100 | 23 h 32 m | Show
This is a 4* play on K-State. |
02-07-23 | North Carolina v. Wake Forest +1.5 | 85-92 | Win | 100 | 20 h 12 m | Show
This is a 4* play on WAKE. The Tar Heels come in as Blue Blood road favorites here, despite their 2-5 road record. They have lost back to back games at Wake in 2022 and 2020. The home team is 5-0 straight up in the last five meetings in this series, and I expect that trend to continue here. The Tar Heels are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 road games, and they have failed to cover in four straight on the road versus a team with a winning home record. The Demon Deacons are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games overall, and this appears to be a case of the wrong team favored. GL, Jesse Schule |
02-02-23 | Stanford v. Utah -6.5 | 78-72 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 37 m | Show
This is a 2* play on UTAH. The Utes are just a game out of first place in the PAC12, and they host bottom feeders Stanford tonight. I have to believe Utah is at least 7-points better than Stanford. They beat the Cardinal by a score of 71-66 at Stanford earlier this season. Stanford comes in off four straight home wins, most recently against last place California. The Cardinal are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a straight up win. The Utes have outscored opponents by an average margin of 17 points while going 10-3 at home. The home team is 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-29-23 | Michigan v. Penn State -3 | 61-83 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
This is a 4* play on PSU. The Wolverines are 1-3 SU on the road, and they are just 1-5 ATS in their last six game overall. They are at Penn State, and the Nittany Lions are 10-1 SU at home, and have covered in 18 of their last 24 home games. Penn State is coming off a blowout loss at Rutgers, and the Nittany Lions are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss. Michigan has failed to cover in four of the last five head to head meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-25-23 | St. Joe's v. George Washington -4 | 91-92 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 20 m | Show
This is a 4* play on GW. The Colonials will be a short home favorite versus St. Joe's on Wednesday, and some might think this looks like a let down spot coming off a win over Dayton. It might be a bigger let down for the Red Hawks who have won three straight versus conference bottom feeders UMass, LaSalle and Loyola Chicago. The Hawks are 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight road games, and they have lost three of their last four at George Washington. The home team has covered in five of the last six head to head meetings, and this looks like a short line. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-24-23 | Ohio State v. Illinois -3.5 | 60-69 | Win | 100 | 17 h 44 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Illinois. The Buckeyes have lost five of eight games in the BIG10, and they have lost four of five on the road. They might not have leading rebounder Zed Key for tonight's game in Illinois, as his status is questionable with a lower body injury. They are coming off a home win over Iowa, and they are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games following a straight up win. Illinois is 9-2 straight up at home, and they have covered the spread in seven of their last 10 home games. This looks like a short line. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-21-23 | Texas Tech +5 v. Kansas State | 58-68 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 23 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Texas Tech. Kansas State is coming off an 83-82 home win over Kansas, setting them up for a let down here against Texas Tech. The Red Raiders are still looking for their first conference win, but they are healthier now than they have been over the last few weeks. Their last road game was a 72-70 loss at Texas. The Red Raiders are 8-2 straight up in the last 10 meetings, and three of those wins came at Manhattan. The underdog has covered in five straight in this series. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-18-23 | Florida v. Texas A&M -3.5 | Top | 52-54 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 28 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Texas A&M. The Aggies are undefeated in the SEC, and they are 8-1 at home. They have already beat the Gators in Florida this season, and they won both meetings versus Florida last season. The Gators are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 road games versus a team with a winning home record. The Aggies are 22-8 ATS in their last 30 games overall, and they are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus Florida. The Aggies have outscored opponents by an average margin of 19 points at home. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-14-23 | Colorado State v. UNLV -5.5 | 82-81 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 2 m | Show
This is a 4* play on UNLV. The Rebels host the Rams in a matchup between two teams sitting at the bottom of the standings in the Mountain West. While both teams have just one conference win, the Rebels losses have come against Mountain West powerhouses San Diego State, Boise State and on the road at San Jose State. The Rams on the other hand are coming off a double digit home loss to Air Force. The Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, and they have failed to cover in five straight versus teams with a winning record. The Rebels are coming off a home loss to Boise State, and they are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight up loss. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-12-23 | Gonzaga v. BYU +7 | 75-74 | Win | 100 | 20 h 7 m | Show
This is a 4* play on BYU. This will be the third consecutive road game for Gonzaga, after beating San Francisco by two points, and winning 81-76 at Santa Clara. Despite being 5-18-3 ATS in their last 26 games overall, they are asked to cover another big number on the road at BYU. I don't think the markets have yet caught up to the fact that this Gonzaga team is no longer in the elite class it has been in recent seasons. The Bulldogs are 3-15-3 ATS in their last 21 games following a straight up win, and they have failed to cover in four straight road games. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-10-23 | Texas Tech +7 v. Iowa State | Top | 50-84 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 45 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on TEXAS TECH. The Red Raiders will be shorthanded here at Iowa State, and they are already 0-3 in conference play. History suggests that this game will be close, and I think the bookmakers are overreacting to a few injuries here. Daniel Batcho and Pop Isaacs didn't play in an overtime loss to Oklahoma, but the Cyclones leading rebounder Aljaz Kunc has also missed the last three weeks. Texas Tech has won eight of the last 10 in this series, and both losses came in games decided by four points. The Cyclones are 3-0 in the BIG12, but two of those wins came in games decided by three points or less. I'll take the points! GL, Jesse Schule |
01-06-23 | St. Peter's v. Siena -7.5 | 60-70 | Win | 100 | 19 h 43 m | Show
This is a 3* play on Siena. The Saints are undefeated in the MAAC, and they host St. Peters on Friday. This isn't the same Peacocks team that made noise in the NCAA Tournament last year. The Peacocks are 2-3 in the MAAC, and their wins have come against Manhattan and Quinnipiac, two of the worst teams in the country. St. Peters has failed to cover in eight straight road games, and the home team is 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-05-23 | Indiana v. Iowa -1 | Top | 89-91 | Win | 100 | 20 h 40 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Iowa. The Hawkeyes are reeling after losing three straight, but a home game against BIG10 rivals Indiana looks like a good spot to get back on track. The home team is 5-1 straight up in the last six meetings between these teams. The Hoosiers have failed to cover in four straight overall, and four of five on the road. They have been playing without two starters, leading scorer Trayce-Jackson-Davis and PG Xavier Johnson. The Hawkeyes are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 off a loss. GL, Jesse Schule |
01-04-23 | Connecticut v. Providence +5 | 61-73 | Win | 100 | 19 h 16 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Providence. The Huskies are no longer invincible, coming off their first loss of the season on the road at #22 ranked Xavier. They will be asked to cover a sizable number here on the road at unranked Providence. History favors the Friars, who are unbeaten at home, and unbeaten in the Big East. They have won four of their last five home games versus Connecticut, and the one loss came by a score of 82-79. The Huskies are 1-5 ATS in their last six games following a straight up loss, and the home team has covered in eight of the last 10 meetings. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-31-22 | Baylor -1 v. Iowa State | 62-77 | Loss | -117 | 11 h 4 m | Show
This is a 5* play on BAY. The Cyclones will be a short home dog against undefeated Baylor, and some will think they look like a sharp play today. Iowa State has covered the spread in four straight meetings, but they have lost six straight and nine of the last 10 in this series. I have this line at -5.5 based on my numbers, and getting the Bears at a pickem is too goo to pass on. Baylor has a starting PG listed as questionable with a concussion, but the Cyclones leading rebounder Aljaz Kunc is out with a finger injury. The Bears are 33-16-2 ATS in their last 51 road games. 12-22-22 | Illinois -6.5 v. Missouri | 71-93 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 20 m | Show
This is a 2* play on ILL. The Missouri Tigers look pretty good with a 10-1 record, until you examine who they beat (10 unranked teams), and how they lost (by 28 points to Kansas). Illinois has played a much tougher schedule, with wins over #2 Texas and #8 UCLA. Mizzouri lost by 26 points in this exact game at this exact venue exactly one year ago (to the day). Illinois has lost five straight versus ranked teams, and four of those losses came by double digits. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-14-22 | Ohio +13 v. Florida | 48-82 | Loss | -115 | 18 h 48 m | Show
This is a 2* play on Ohio. The Bobcats lost their first four road games, but they are coming off an 81-79 win at Youngstown state for their first road win of the year. They lost by just four points at #20 ranked Michigan in Ann Arbor. This is not a true road game, as they face the Gators in Tampa rather than Gainesville. The Gators are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall, and they have failed to cover in six straight neutral site games. This line looks a little inflated considering that the Gators have lost four of their last eight games outright. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-14-22 | DePaul +1.5 v. Duquesne | 55-66 | Loss | -105 | 15 h 36 m | Show
This is a free play on DePaul. The Blue Demons will be an underdog on the road at Duquesne tonight, and you could call this a revenge spot since DePaul beat the Dukes by 20 points in Chicago last year. DePaul has a pair of senior starters that average over 15 points per game. Umoja Gibson is a transfer from Oklahoma, while Javan Johnson transferred from Iowa State midway through last season. The Dukes have lost back to back home games to Marshall and New Mexico State, and both losses came by a double digit margin. The Dukes are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 home games, while the Blue Demons are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-11-22 | Oklahoma State v. Virginia Tech -1 | 65-70 | Win | 100 | 11 h 17 m | Show
This is a 3* play on VT. The Hokies are 9-1, and they are 2-0 in neutral site games. This is an experienced squad with three senior starters all scoring in double digits. They come off a 77-49 win over Dayton, and Grant Basile led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-17 shooting. The Cowboys are 6-3, coming off a win over Sam Houston. The Cowboys are 2-8-1 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS win. While these teams haven't played since 2012, the Hokies have won four straight versus Oklahoma State. This team won 13 of their last 15 games last season, beating Duke in the Final of the ACC Tournament. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-10-22 | Arizona v. Indiana | Top | 89-75 | Win | 100 | 12 h 20 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Arizona. The Wildcats are 7-1, with a pair of wins over ranked teams. They beat San Diego State and Creighton before losing their first true road game at Utah. They host the #14 ranked Indiana Hoosiers in a neutral site game tonight, but Las Vegas might feel like a second home to the Wildcats. This Arizona team was 11-1 in non-conference games last year, beating #4 Michigan right here in Las Vegas. Indiana might struggle to match the scoring prowess of a Wildcats team that is averaging 91.5 points per game. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-07-22 | Dayton v. Virginia Tech -7.5 | 49-77 | Win | 100 | 19 h 46 m | Show
This is a 4* play on VT. This is a revenge spot for the home team, as Dayton beat the Hokies in Ohio last year by a score of 62-57. They didn't fare so well in non-conference road games, losing at SMU and Ole Miss by a combined 16 points. This will be just their second road game this season, losing 60-52 at UNLV last month. The Flyers are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. The Hokies are 6-0 at home, and the average margin of victory in those games is 17 points. This should be a double digit win for the home team. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-03-22 | Wichita State v. Kansas State -6.5 | Top | 50-55 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 17 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on K-State. The Wildcats are coming off their first loss of the season, on the road at Butler. A home game against Wichita State looks like a good spot to get back on track. Wichita State had three players score in double digits last season, and all three are gone. One went to the NBA (Tyson Ettienne) and two transfered. The Wildcats have three senior starters averaging in double digits, and this gives them a huge edge in experience. Kansas State has won both their home games by double digits, and the Shockers are likely to be overmatched here in Manhattan. GL, Jesse Schule |
12-02-22 | South Dakota State v. Kent State -7 | 68-83 | Win | 100 | 15 h 45 m | Show
This is a 4* play on KENT. It comes as no surprise that Kent State is off to a good start, with an overall record of 5-2, and a 4-0 home record. They have three senior starters, all scoring in double digits. The Golden Flashes are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 home games, and they are 19-6-1 ATS in their last 26 games overall. They host South Dakota State, and the Jack Rabbits have failed to cover in five straight versus a team with a winning record. South Dakota State lost two of it's top three scorers from last season via transfer, and the other to graduation. This should prove to be a mismatch. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-30-22 | CS-Fullerton v. Seattle University -9.5 | 62-69 | Loss | -115 | 21 h 42 m | Show
This is a 4* play on Seattle. This line looks a little short when you look at the overall body of work for Seattle University. The Redhawks suffered their first loss of the season on the road at Washington over the weekend. They are 5-1 overall, and 3-0 at home. They have outscored opponents by more than 30 points per game at home, and they have faced some strong teams. They won by a dozen in a home win over Portland State, a team that has a pair of wins over the PAC12 already. They also beat a Portland Pilots team by a dozen on the road, and the Pilots have a win over Villanova followed up by a one point loss to Michigan State. The Titans lost their last road game by 16 points at North Dakota, and another double digit defeat should be expected here. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-27-22 | Iowa State v. Connecticut -5 | Top | 53-71 | Win | 100 | 21 h 58 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on UCONN. The #20 Huskies are 7-0, and they beat #18 Alabama by 15 points on Friday at the Phil Knight Invitational. They face an unranked Iowa State team that just upset #1 North Carolina, and this could be a let down spot for the Cyclones. Iowa State made 9-of-20 three-point attempts in the upset win over the Tar Heels. I don't like their chances of hitting 45 percent from beyond the arc here in this game. The Huskies have the experience, the shooters, and the coaching to take down this scrappy Cyclones team. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-25-22 | Butler v. NC State +1 | Top | 61-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show |
This is a 5* play on NCSTATE. The Butler Bulldogs didn't get a lot of returning talent from last year, and they did not look good in their first game against a ranked team. They scored 45 points on 32 percent shooting in a loss to Tennessee a few days ago. The Wolfpack have more experience, and that may be what allowed them to hang with #3 ranked Kansas. NC State comes in averaging over 80 points per game, while the Bulldogs average just slightly above the national average (71.5). The Wolfpack currently rank 1st in the ACC in scoring, and near the top in FG percentage, FT percentage and three-point shooting. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-24-22 | Alabama v. Michigan State +4 | 81-70 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 18 m | Show
This is a 4* play on MSU. Alabama is powered by a pair of talented freshmen, and they face their first real test here in the Phil Knight Invitational on Thanksgiving. Michigan State has a ton of experience, with their three top scorers all seniors. The Spartans have already faced two teams ranked in the Top 5, winning outright by double digits versus #4 Kentucky and losing by a point to #2 Gonzaga. They also beat unranked Villanova by a bucket. The experience in close games early in the season is invaluable. Alabama is 4-0 versus unranked competition, and the Crimson Tide are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games following a straight up win. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-24-22 | Iowa State v. Villanova -1 | 81-79 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 56 m | Show
This is a 4* play on VILL. The 3-0 Cyclones are facing the 2-2 Villanova Wildcats at the Phil Knight Invitational in an afternoon game on Thanksgiving. The Wildcats were 1 bucket away from beating #12 ranked Michigan State at East Lansing. This Villanova team made the Final Four last year, and they bring back plenty of key players from that team. Villanova is 5-1 ATS in their last six versus a team with a winning record. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-18-22 | Florida v. Florida State +7.5 | 76-67 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 27 m | Show
This is a 4* play on FSU. The public is tripping over themselves to bet against the Seminoles here, as they have looked like hot garbage starting the season 0-3. A home game against rivals Florida as a big underdog looks like a good spot to grab the underdog plus the points. The Gators are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 road games, and they are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. They have failed to cover in eight of their last nine versus Florida State. I'll roll the dice here and hope FSU can cut down on the turnovers and hit a few more free throws to hang tight in a home game against Florida. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-18-22 | Baylor -4.5 v. Virginia | Top | 79-86 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 59 m | Show |
This is a 10* play on Baylor. The Cavs had four games against Top 25 teams last year, and they lost three of those four games by double digits. They do not match up well with a #5 ranked Baylor team that has the edge in experience, returning production and overall talent. The Bears are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 neutral site games. The Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS in their last eight neutral site games, and they are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-17-22 | Old Dominion v. Virginia Tech -15 | 71-75 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 33 m | Show
This is a 4* play on VT. The Hokies are 3-0 and all three of those wins have come by 20+ points. Last year they won their first five games versus unranked teams all by 20+. Old Dominion is coming off a win over a Div 2 team, after losing by a dozen at Drexel. The Monarchs are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 neutral site games, and they have failed to cover in five of their last six coming off a win. This should be a blowout win for the Hokies who have superior talent and experience. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-15-22 | Vermont v. USC -11 | 57-59 | Loss | -105 | 17 h 54 m | Show
This is a 4* play on USC. This is not the same Vermont team that went 17-1 in conference play last year, and lost by just four points to Alabama in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Finn Sullivan is the only remaining starter from that squad, and he scored just five points in 18 minutes in a loss to Cal State Fullerton on Sunday. The Trojans bounced back after losing their season opener to FGCU, by blowing out Alabama State by 38 points. Senior guard Drew Peterson scored 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting in the victory. USC appears to be undervalued here in this spot. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-11-22 | BYU v. San Diego State -9.5 | 75-82 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 57 m | Show
This is a 4* play on SDSU. The BYU Cougars finished in the middle of the pack in the WCC (5th) last season, and they lost their top two scorers from last year. Expectations are much higher for the #19 ranked Aztecs, who have four seniors in the starting lineup. Leading scorer Matt Bradley is back in 2022, and Senior Darrion Trammell transferred from Seattle. He led all scorers with 18 points in a 80-57 win in the season opener. The Cougars are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall, and these programs appear to be trending in opposite directions. GL, Jesse Schule |
11-07-22 | George Mason +12.5 v. Auburn | 52-70 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 3 m | Show
This is a 3* play on GMU. The Patriots were giant killers in non-conference play last year, winning outright against #20 ranked Maryland, beating Georgia and losing by just nine points at #6 ranked Kansas. They get most of their starters back, including leading scorer senior Josh Oduro. Auburn lost their two best players to the NBA draft (Jabari Smith and Walker Kessler). They come into their season opener with five players listed as questionable, most notable of those is starting center Johni Broome. This game has upset written all over it. GL, Jesse Schule |
