New York who still has a 'puncher's' chance for the playoffs will send Michael Wacha (1-3, 6.75) to the hill who tossed four scoreless innings in his last outing. In a surprise the Mets delay the Rays celebration. Take NEW YORK M-E-T-S! |

New York will start Seth Lugo (2-3, 4.34) who had the shortest start of his career giving up six runs in 1.2 innings and is looking to recover here as they Mets actually lead the majors in batting average (.273) and on-base-percentage (.351) and score enough to win here. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-21-20 | Astros v. Mariners +128 | 1-6 | Win | 128 | 10 h 4 m | Show
Houston at Seattle 9:10 ET Mariners over Astros- Seattle who, believe it or not was in the thick of it all before the played five 'home' games in San Francisco because of the wildfires and went 1-4. They are now the ninth seed in an 8-team race and are 5-games behind Houston for the final playoff spot. Houston meanwhile clinched their playoff spot this weekend and are just waiting for the return of Altuve and others. While just 7-18 on the road the Astros are an amazing 24-2 against the Mariners the past 26 meetings and will start Lance McCullers Jr. (3-2, 4.87 ERA) who is 7-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 13 career starts against Seattle. The Mariners will send their best in Marco Gonzalez (6-2, 3.49) who lost Opening Day to the 'Stros but is 6-1 since gets his chance to beat them for the first time (0-5). Houston is terrible on the road and locked-in, while the Mariners are coming to play. Take SEATTLE! |
09-21-20 | Brewers v. Reds -123 | 3-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Milwaukee at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Brewers- This is a meeting between a pair of hot clubs who are both at .500 and fighting for a playoff berth. Milwaukee is on a season high four-game winning streak and will send hard throwing Brandon Woodruff (2-4, 3.45 ERA) to the hill and he is 3-2 with a 4.25 ERA in seven games against the Reds. Cincinnati who has won 7-of-8 will send Luis Castillo (3-5, 3.03) to the mound and he is 3-0 in September with a 1.23 ERA in five starts. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-21-20 | White Sox v. Indians -111 | Top | 4-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Cleveland 6:10 ET Indians over White Sox- Since ending an eight-game losing streak Cleveland has won 3-of-4 and needs just two wins to get back into the MLB Playoffs. The Indians will start Aaron Civale (3-5, 3.80 ERA) who hasn't won in his last five starts going 0-3 while Chicago has clinched their playoff spot their first post-season appearance since 2008. Dane Dunning (2-0, 2.33) take the mound for the Sox and they are 5-0 in his five starts. Despite having the best record in the AL Chicago is just 1-5 as road underdogs and only 7-16 in their last 23 games in Cleveland. Take the INDIANS! |
09-20-20 | Twins v. Cubs -147 | 4-0 | Loss | -147 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Minnesota at Chicago Cubs 7:08 ET Cubs over Twins- Great pitching matchup with Minnesota sending hard throwing Jose Barrios (4-3, 4.15 ERA) who has thrown at least five innings in each of his previous five starts but no more than six. The Central Division leading Cubs will send a refurbished Yu Darvish (7-2, 1.86) to the hill who is having his best season in years. Against the Twins Darvish is 1-1 in three starts with a 1.77 ERA with 25 strikeouts in 20 innings. Barrios has had one appearance against Chicago taking a loss after surrendering six runs in 4.2 innings for an ERA of 12.46. Take the CUBS! |
09-20-20 | Braves v. Mets -118 | 7-0 | Loss | -118 | 2 h 4 m | Show
Atlanta at New York Mets 1:10 ET Mets over Braves- It's seems like every time Rick Porcello (1-5, 6.06 ERA) gets the start they systems say to go 'with' him in his starts as he comes up the favorite. His mound opponent for Atlanta will be Kyle Wright (1-4, 7.20) and he has a career ERA of 7.26 in 50 innings. Although Porcello is 0-4 with a 5.75 ERA in his last seven starts he is 3-2 lifetime against the Braves. Listen to this or read it the braves are 2-14 in their last 16 games when a road underdog. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-20-20 | White Sox v. Reds -125 | Top | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 2 h 20 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Cincinnati 1:10 ET Reds over White Sox- Chicago has won 8 of 10 and are headed to the MLB Playoffs for the first time since 2008 and believe me they do belong. Cincinnati who buried themselves early had their six game winning streak stopped yesterday by the White Sox 5-0 and have won 10 of 15. Dylan Cease (5-2, 3.20 ERA) get the nod for Chicago and he hasn't gone beyond six innings in 10 starts while Michael Lorenzen (2-1, 4.56) earned his second straight start after making his first start since 2018. White Sox are 8-22 against inter-league righties and the Reds are 6-2 as inter-league favorites. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-19-20 | Twins -130 v. Cubs | Top | 8-1 | Win | 100 | 20 h 34 m | Show |
Minnesota at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET Twins over Cubs- Sometimes you see a game that for whatever reason doesn't seem right. That's how I felt a first glance into this matchup. I mean Minnesota is not the same team away (11-16) from Target Field as they are 20-5 at home. The NL Central leading Cubs starting Alec (No-Hit) Mills (5-3, 3.93 ERA)who is making his his start since his historic outing against the Brewers, in his last two starts he has 15 shutout innings and just four hits allowed. With those 'numbers' and his team leading the division by 3-games he's pitching at home and he and the Cubs are underdogs to Michael Pineda (1-0, 3.57) and the Twins. I guess? Pineda is making his four start two good and last Sunday he was banged around a bit by the Indians. This time out he gets it right! Take MINNESOTA! |
09-19-20 | White Sox v. Reds -132 | 5-0 | Loss | -132 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati 7:07 ET Reds over White Sox- A great pitching matchup with Dallas Keuchel (6-2, 2.19 ERA) set to throw for Chicago and Trevor Bauer (4-3, 1.71 ERA) taking the hill for Cincinnati and he leads the NL in ERA and WHIP and is second in strikeouts (83), hits per nine innings allowing 32 hits in 58 innings. The White Sox with the best record in the AL has clinched a playoff for the first time since 2008 and they are already celebrating. Bauer's numbers are really off the charts but Keuchel has won four straight decisions and is always tough. While the Pale Hose are secure the Reds have moved in the final playoff spot and have plenty to play for. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-19-20 | Blue Jays v. Phillies +127 | 1-3 | Win | 127 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Toronto at Philadelphia 6:05 ET Phillies over Blue Jays- Toronto will start Hyun-Jin Ryu (4-1, 3.17 ERA) and he will be up against Philadelphia's Vince Velasquez (0-1, 6.46) who is anxious to join the rotation after coming off the IL. Toronto 9-2 as a road favorite and 10-3 as favorites overall and Blue Jays have toyed with the Phillies going 19-7 in the last 26 meetings including 12-2 in Philadelphia. After a weak start the Phillies are 11-4 in their last 15 home games and the Phillies are and 8-3 in their last 11 against left-handers but a dreadful 32-67 as underdogs. Still, this one counts as the season's end draws near...take PHILLIES! |
09-18-20 | White Sox v. Reds -113 | Top | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Cincinnati 7:10 ET Reds over White Sox- It has been over 10 years (2008) since the White Sox made the MLB playoffs but with the expanded forum and the best record in the American league they are destined to make the playoffs this season. Cincinnati has started to play better (if not too late) and are now 1-game under .500. Chicago will give rookie Jonathan Stiever (0-0, 2.45 ERA) will get his second career start while the Reds who has won four straight will send Tejay Antone (0-2, 2.76) to the mound and he has 37 strikeouts in just 29 innings while allowing just 17 hits. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-17-20 | Mets +111 v. Phillies | Top | 10-6 | Win | 111 | 8 h 21 m | Show |
New York Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Mets over Phillies- The Phillies blew a 4-0 lead yesterday and once again dropped to 24-24 and will start their most effective hurler to date this season in Aaron Nola (5-3, 2.40 ERA) who will take the hill. New York will start Seth Lugo (2-3, 2.63) and he aside from deGrom has been the Mets best hurler. The Mets have won five of their last seven start against right-handers and while the Phillies are 1-4 in their last five and 2-7 in their last nine starts against righties. Take M-E-T-S! |
09-16-20 | Giants -150 v. Mariners | 9-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 4 m | Show
San Francisco at Seattle 9:45 ET Giants over Mariners- This is another one of these games where until the actually take the field that it will be played. Scheduled as a double-header one game has been cancelled and I just hope the one game they do play is the one 'we' want. San Francisco will send Drew Smyly (0-0, 2.92 ERA) to the mound looking help end their three-game losing streak while Seattle will use rookie Ljay Newsome (0-0, 3.24) who was removed from his last start against the Giants when he was struck by a line drive. This time he's hit hard again. Take the GIANTS! |
09-16-20 | Indians -106 v. Cubs | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -106 | 8 h 22 m | Show |
Cleveland at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET Indians over Cubs- Chicago has a comfortable lead in the NL Central as no other team in the division is even at .500 and they are on a three game winning streak. Cleveland meanwhile has dropped into third place in the AL Central by losing their last seven games. Okay, here we go again, that that look right, well maybe if you check out what former Cy Young Award winner Cubs starter Jon Lester (2-2, 5.05 ERA) who after a quick start has faltered and despite throwing six shutout innings his last time out has and ERA of 6.14 in his last three starts. Indians starter Aaron Civale (3-5, 3.88) is making his first career start against Chicago and is looking for his first win in five starts and he gets it here. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-16-20 | Cardinals v. Brewers -151 | Top | 4-2 | Loss | -151 | 6 h 42 m | Show |
St. Louis at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Cardinals- I would consider using this side (Milwaukee) in a much 'higher' rated spot if not for the shit that is going on. To start with, I like the pitching matchup but, with this being a double-header you can never really be sure what you are going to get. Managers use two distinct and different line-ups to share playing time among the roster and you never really know who's playing which game. Also, I would always prefer to play my game first as things change after a win or loss and mid sets change game to game. If you can get this match-up in game one the Brewers are worth a shot against a fading Wainwright. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-16-20 | A's v. Rockies -121 | Top | 3-1 | Loss | -121 | 3 h 25 m | Show |
Oakland at Colorado 3:10 ET Rockies over A's- So much for the Colorado home field advantage as they are 11-14 at home an actually have a better road record this season. Tonight, the Rockies will start German Marquez (2-5, 4.35 ERA) who is 2-0 against the A's with one win this season and he has 16 K's in 13.2 innings. AL West leading Oakland will start Mike Fiers (5-2, 5.06) has received great support from his mates in nine starts. The A's are 0-6 in the last six meetings and 0-4 at Colorado. Overall the Rockies are 61-27 when home favorites. Take COLORADO! |
09-15-20 | Twins +115 v. White Sox | 2-6 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 56 m | Show
Minnesota at Chicago White Sox 8:10 ET Twins over White Sox- A match-up of the two winningest teams in the AL face off in Chicago where the best record White Sox (31-16) host No. 2 Minnesota (30-19). Dane Dunning(1-0, 2.70 ERA) take the hill for the Pale Hose and the rookie is off his first career win. The Twins will counter with Randy Dobnak (6-3, 3.61) who is 0-1 with a 1.29 ERA in seven appearances against Chicago and will even the series today. Take MINNESOTA! |
09-15-20 | Blue Jays v. Yankees -149 | 6-20 | Win | 100 | 7 h 41 m | Show
Toronto at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Yankees over Blue Jays- New York who many felt was to run away from the crowd is seeded seventh right now amount eight AL teams that will make the post season. Toronto has won 8-of-12 while the Yankees who fell to .500 and trail the Blue Jays by 3.5-games have won five straight and will start Deivi Garcia (1-1, 3.06 ERA) he could be aided by the return of Stanton and Judge. Tajuan Walker (3-2, 2.95) starts for the Blue Jays and he is 0-2 lifetime against the Yankees. Take NEW YORK! |
09-15-20 | Mets -126 v. Phillies | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -126 | 7 h 56 m | Show |
New York Mets at Philadelphia 7:05 ET Mets over Philadelphia- The Phillies are at 23-23 with 14 games left to play have been hit hard by injuries and currently are playing with five position starters. They have lost five of seven and will start former Cy Young winner Jake Arrieta (3-4, 5.54 ERA) who has struggled this season and is 5-5 in 15 career starts against the Mets. New York will start former Cy Young hurler Rick Porcello (1-4, 6.07) who is 3-3 verses the Phillies and he has been posted as the favorite on the road. That is the key here. Take NEW YORK METS! |
09-14-20 | Twins -134 v. White Sox | 1-3 | Loss | -134 | 9 h 10 m | Show
Minnesota at Chicago White Sox 8:10 ET Twins over White Sox- I found a couple of games like this last week and they both ended up winner among the scarce ones in the last week. Here are the Chicago White Sox with the best record in the American League an underdog at home in a Central Division game. Minnesota has won 10 of its last 12 games and has a 4-2 series advantage this season and will start Jose Berrios (4-3, 4.40 ERA) who is 12-2 with a 2.69 ERA with 109 K's in 103 innings lifetime against the White Sox. Enough said...take MINNESOTA! |
09-14-20 | Cardinals v. Brewers -114 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 6 h 48 m | Show
St. Louis at Milwaukee 5:10 ET Brewers over Cardinals- I hate dealing with double-headers as you can never be sure until the game has started if you have the pitching match-up you want. Starters Kwang Hyun Kin (2-0, 0.83 ERA) get the nod for St. Louis and Josh Lindblom (1-3, 6.06) who comes out of the bullpen after two appearances out of the bullpen. The Cards are still in the hunt and at 20-20 have 20 games remaining but are just 2-5 in their last seven games as underdogs and 2-5 in their last seven starts against right-handers. The Brewers have been inconsistent but are 5-2 ATS in their last seven as home favorites. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-14-20 | Phillies v. Marlins -125 | Top | 2-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 25 m | Show |
Philadelphia at Miami 4:10 ET Marlins over Phillies- Okay, here's the scenario it is now September 14th and one of bigger favorites in the NL East Philadelphia trails Miami by a game in the loss column. Think of what I just stated 'Miami has a lead over the Phillies with just 16-games to go.' The former 'Whiz Kids' will start Vince Velasquez (0-0, 5.85 ERA) who made one start two weeks ago and game up four runs in three winnings. The Marlins will start Pablo Lopez (3-4, 4.50) who is 0-1 lifetime against the Phillies but has 40 strikeouts in 40 innings and gets the win here. Take MIAMI! |
09-13-20 | Mariners v. Diamondbacks -145 | 7-3 | Loss | -145 | 5 h 37 m | Show
Seattle at Arizona 4:10 ET Diamondbacks over Mariners- This is a 'Don't Make Sense' game if I ever saw one; Here is Arizona with just three wins in their last 18 games with starter Luke Weaver (1-6, 7.12 ERA) on the mound favored over a team that is 17-7 in their last 24. Seattle will start Justin Dunn (3-1, 4.09) who has no record against the D'Backs but a 15.43 ERA in 4.2 innings. Take ARIZONA! |
09-13-20 | Reds +100 v. Cardinals | 10-5 | Win | 100 | 3 h 41 m | Show
Cincinnati at St. Louis 4:10 ET Reds over Cardinals- We've split the first two in this series and today Cincinnati will start Tyler Mahle (1-2, 3.89 ERA) who has had three straight quality starts while St. Louis is starting Carlos Martinez (0-2, 12.27) who is making his first start since recovering (?) from COVID-19. The Cardinals are just 1-5 in their last six starts when facing right handed pitchers. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-13-20 | Cubs v. Brewers -128 | Top | 12-0 | Loss | -128 | 3 h 17 m | Show |
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee 2:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- Okay well, we have split the first two in this series with the Brewers and come back again. Milwaukee knows time is running out as they are 20-23 with 17 games remaining. Alec Mills (4-3, 4.74 ERA) the Chicago starter is off his best game of the season and will be facing Adrian Houser (1-4, 5.48) who has struggled in his last two appearances failing to reach five innings. Milwaukee is 12-5 in their last 17 games at home. Take BREWERS! |
09-12-20 | Reds +122 v. Cardinals | 1-7 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 23 m | Show
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 ET Reds over Cardinals- The Reds who disappointed 'us' earlier in the week and atoned with yesterday 3-1 over these Cardinals. I always hate playing against St. Louis because they were always sound and played a style that beat the Yankees). Only NL team with World Series edge of Yanks...Okay, I'm back in more ways than one. So, I'm thinking 'hey got one against them now maybe it's the Birds turn.' I remember what I saw in Reds starter Tejay Antone (0-1, 2.49 ERA) who has no wins because his teams mates are not all that good. But he has been dominating, get this; 25 innings, 33 K's and only 13 hits. Those are impressive numbers and with the action on the 'Dead-Birds' I'll take the Reds...Take CINCINNATI! |
09-12-20 | Indians -112 v. Twins | Top | 4-8 | Loss | -112 | 19 h 42 m | Show |
Cleveland at Minnesota 8:05 ET Indians over Twins- I've got to believe that I have the correct tempo for this series playing against Bieber yesterday and on Zach Plesac (3-1, 1.32 ERA) today. Sometimes it is a matter of numbers and how they swing. Runs have been scarce between these two hurlers and it might not get any better here as Rich Hill (1-1, 3.86) has allowed just 19 hits in 21 innings. Plesac has been off the charts allowing only 23 hits in 34 innings with a K for each inning with only two walks and a WHIP of 0.74. Take CLEVELAND! |
09-12-20 | Cubs v. Brewers +119 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Chicago Cubs at Milwaukee 7:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- Man, I don't mind playing on Milwaukee hear having won withy them yesterday but I hate playing against Kyle Hendricks (5-4 3.41 ERA) as I know how difficult he is to hit when everything is working. Milwaukee starter Brett Anderson cant match Hendricks class (2-3, 4.64) , but, the Brewers are making there move and the Cubs are in front of them. it's not Dr. Evil...it's the MOJO...take MILWAUKEE! |
09-12-20 | Mets -177 v. Blue Jays | 2-3 | Loss | -177 | 8 h 54 m | Show
New York Mets at Toronto 3:35 ET Mets over Blue Jays- I don't want some people to get too excited but it looks as though the Mets have 'bottomed-out' and are starting to eager from the depths. Rookie of the Year Alonso has found his stoke and power again and finally Dennis Smith is delivering at the plate. And that bring us to Seth logo (2-2, 2.05 ERA) who has been over-powering from day one in 2020. He received little support early as deGrom suffered but he has 31 K's in just 22 innings with on only 16 hits. Robbie Ray starts for the Blue Jays (0-0, 6.14) Mets hitting stride and the ball. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-11-20 | Indians v. Twins +100 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 9 h 7 m | Show
Cleveland at Minnesota 8:10 ET Twins over Indians- Runs should be difficult to come by in this one as two of the AL's top righties will face-off at Target Field in Minnesota where the Twins are 17-5. Cleveland who has played better on the road 14-7 than they have at home (12-11) have scored just one run in their last two games and will up against Kenta Maeda (4-1, 2.77 ERA) who has two wins over the Indians and an ERA of 0.82. Cleveland will send Cy Young front runner Shane Bieber (7-0, 1.25) is 2-0 over the Twins this season but Minnesota is 10-2 at home verses right-handed starters. Take TWINS! |
09-11-20 | Reds -120 v. Cardinals | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 56 m | Show |
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 ET Reds over Cardinals- Boy, I know that 'we' have had a rough 10 days with MLB but this one makes no sense what-so-ever. Can somebody explain to me how Adam Wainwright (4-0, 2.68 ERA) can be an underdog at home. Here is Cincinnati six games under .500 starting Luis Castillo (1-5, 3.95) and are favored on the road in St. Louis. He is 3-4 with a 4.29 ERA in 10 career starts against the Red Birds and Wainwright is 10-12 with a 5.14 ERA in 33 career starts against the Reds. The Cards are 36-17 against Cincy and have their 'best' on the mound and are a dog...'Don't Make Sense' to me...Take CINCINNATI! |
09-11-20 | Cubs v. Brewers -165 | 0-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 55 m | Show
Chicago at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Brewers over Cubs- I hate 'laying' this kind of price especially against a quality pitcher but there is a 'tell' in the Vegas number that has been posted on this game . Jon Lester (2-2, 5.80 ERA) started the season with a pair of wins but has been hit hard ever since and he is 5-4 with a 3.33 ERA in 12 career starts against the Brewers. Milwaukee was off to a slow start but is coming on strong and scored 19 runs with 13 extra-base hits on Wednesday. The Brewers play 13 of their final 10 against the Cubs and Cardinals the two teams ahead of them in the playoff hunt. Brandon Woodruff (2-3, 3.91) one of the hardest thrower in the NL has 55 K's on just 46 innings while allowing only 41 hits. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-10-20 | Reds -128 v. Cubs | Top | 5-8 | Loss | -128 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Chicago Cubs- 8:15 ET Reds over Cubs- Two day's ago I got ambushed with the Reds as the Cubs prevailed 3-0 and after upsetting Yu Darvish yesterday I'm back with Cincinnati. This is mostly because of starter Sonny Gray (5-2, 3.19 ERA) and he is off one of his worst career appearances.allowing six runs against the Cardinals getting only two outs. Gray is 4-2 with a 2.38 ERA in seven career starts against Chicago with 50 K's in just 40 innings. The first-place Cubs have lost five of its last eight games and are 18-38 in their last 56 when underdogs. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-10-20 | Phillies v. Marlins +101 | 6-7 | Win | 101 | 7 h 29 m | Show
Philadelphia at Miami 6:40 ET Marlins over Phillies- It just seems that how well he does as an individual Bryce Harper teams just seem to under-achieve. Philadelphia has won 12 of their last 16 and open this seven game series with Jake Arrieta (3-4, 5.67 ERA) on the mound facing Marlins Sandy Alcantara (2-1, 3.78). With Arrieta's lifetime record of 8-1 with 3.55 ERA lifetime against Miami I'm surprised the line is a virtual pick-em. Miami surrendered 29 runs yesterday but is 2-1 against the Phillies this season and starter Alcantara is 4-1 with a 2.51 ERA in five starts against them. Take MIAMI! |
09-08-20 | Reds -103 v. Cubs | Top | 0-3 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 52 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET Reds over Cubs- With 18 games left in the 'regular' season the Cubs have a 2.5-game lead over St. Louis while Cincinnati trails by 5.5-games. Today, Chicago will start Alec Mills (3-3, 5.50 ERA) who is 2-0 lifetime against the Reds while he will face Tyler Mahle (1-1, 3.90) who is 1-1 lifetime against Chicago. Mahle has been outstanding allowing just 20 hits in 30 innings with 35 strikeouts with a 1.07 WHIP. Mills has surrendered eight homers in seven starts and falls short today. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-08-20 | Angels -123 v. Rangers | 1-7 | Loss | -123 | 9 h 40 m | Show
L.A. Angels at Texas 9:05 ET Angels over Rangers- A pair of AL bottom feeders go at it in Texas as the Rangers host the LA Angels. The 'Lone Star' state boys have dropped six straight while Los Angeles has won five straight but has lost their last five in Arlington. The Rangers will start this season's ace Lance Lynn (4-2, 2.67 ERA) he was off to a great start but has surrendered 10 runs in his last two start in 12 innings work. The Angels will start Andrew Heaney (3-2, 3.89) who is off his best performance of the season. Take LA ANGELS! |
09-08-20 | Yankees +104 v. Blue Jays | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 10 m | Show
N.Y. Yankees at Toronto (Buffalo) 6:37 ET Yankees over Blue Jays- New York having lost four straight and 14-of-19 is just a shell of what they should be as the are missing four regular starters among the eight position players and hav three hurlers in the IL as well. New York was expected to run away with the AL East but is now struggling to qualify for the expanded playoff format. Toronto will start newly acquired Taijuan Walker (3-2, 3.26 ERA) who hasn't faced the Yankees in five years but is 0-2 against them while New York will start former Blue Jay J.A. Happ (1-1, 4.68) who is 3-2 lifetime against Toronto. Shit happens...Yankees win today. Take NEW YORK! |
09-07-20 | Astros v. A's -135 | 0-6 | Win | 100 | 10 h 20 m | Show
Houston at Oakland 9:10 ET A's over Astros- What a difference at the plate when you know what pitches are coming and the 'Cheatin' Stros are living proof. Houston is 5-13 on the road where they have no hint what pitch is coming...A's are 14-6 at home and teach these guys a lesson in humility. Take OAKLAND! |
09-07-20 | Diamondbacks +109 v. Giants | Top | 2-4 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 24 m | Show |
Arizona at San Francisco 8:05 ET D'backs over Giants- For me it's about Zac Gallen (1-0, 1.80 ERA) the most impressive one win pitcher in baseball. In 50 innings of work he has 54 strikeouts and has surrendered just 32 hits and his WHIP of 0.80. Arizona with no power and little run producing talent will be up against Giants starter Kevin Gausman (2-2, 4.43) who has been very hit-able his entire career so they may score here. The 'numbers' say Arizona 1-5 as a road favorite and Giants are 5-2 as home dogs. I'm looking to beat the odds...Take the DIAMONDBACKS! |
09-07-20 | Yankees v. Blue Jays -123 | 7-12 | Win | 100 | 8 h 42 m | Show
New York Yankees vs Toronto 6:35 ET Blue Jays over Yankees- There are so many parts of the Yankees that are missing it is difficult to call them the Bronx Bombers anymore. Sunday, New York had a six players bat who are hitting under .200 and a seventh at .201 and today they start Jordon Montgomery (2-2, 5.76 ERA) who has only nine innings under his belt in his last three starts. Toronto will start Hyun-jin Ryu (3-1, 2.72) for the Blue Jays and he has had four straight quality starts. Yanks are just too beat up and normal rules don't apply. Take TORONTO! |
09-06-20 | Cardinals -101 v. Cubs | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 8 h 41 m | Show
St. Louis at Chicago Cubs 7:08 ET Cardinals over Cubs- Okay this should be short and sweet! Here is Chicago leading the NL Central at home with their best big-game hurler Jon Lester (2-1, 5.11 ERA) on the mound. In his 20 career starts against St. Louis Lester is 8-6 with an excellent 3.26 ERA but he has struggled in his last three starts lasting just 14 innings while posting a 9.00 ERA with a WHIP of 2.07. The Cubs have lost three of four while the Cardinals have won seven of nine in Chicago. Take ST.LOUIS! |
09-06-20 | Padres +101 v. A's | Top | 5-3 | Win | 101 | 5 h 50 m | Show |
San Diego at Oakland 4:10 ET Padres over A's- The A's evened the series at 1-1 and delivered an 8-4 VHL win for 'us' Saturday and today the AL 'Best in the West' is a pick-em at home. This is a bit disconcerting as Oakland's starter Mike Fiers (4-1, 4.86 ERA) is 14-2 at home since being acquired from Milwaukee. He is 0-1 with a 6.00 ERA in his one career start against the Padres. Garrett Richards (1-2, 4.63) has been tough on the road where he is 1-0 with a 2.82 ERA in four starts. The Padres are 10-1 in their last 11 starts against a right-hander and are 5-0 after a loss while Oakland is 3-7 in their last 10 games against teams with winning records. Take SAN DIEGO! |
09-06-20 | Phillies v. Mets -148 | 1-14 | Win | 100 | 2 h 47 m | Show
Philadelphia at New York Mets 1:10 ET Mets over Phillies- This always sucks! I mean having to take the Mets when Jake deGrom (2-1, 1.76 ERA) is on the mound because as good as he is (and he is great) the Muts just don't score runs for the dude. He has had 30 no-decisions since the start of the 2018 by far the most in MLB and he is 7-1 with a 2.23 ERA against Philadelphia. The Phillies are 10-2 in their last 12 games overall but are just 4-13 in their last 17 games as an underdog. Take the METS! |
09-05-20 | Phillies v. Mets -158 | 1-5 | Win | 100 | 8 h 50 m | Show
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- Philadelphia has now won 10 of 11 games and I hate playing against teams that are in mist of a winning streak. I'm not one of those 'due' guys that just expect a team to win or lose. But, how can the Phillies be such a heavy underdog at the Mets who they have beaten six times in-a-row. They are also 7-0 in their last seven against a right-handed starter. The reason is Seth Lugo (1-2, 2.12 ERA) who has 253 K's in 17 innings while allowing just 12 hits. The Phillies will start Spencer Howard (1-1, 5.40) who has surrendered 24 hits in 16 innings walking seven and allowing five home runs. Take the METS! |
09-05-20 | Brewers +111 v. Indians | 3-4 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 48 m | Show
Milwaukee at Cleveland 7:10 ET Brewers over Indians- Milwaukee finds themselves with a .217 team batting average and the Indians have the best starting pitchers ERA at 2.74. Cleveland has also had trouble scoring runs and getting the bat on the ball and they are 2-6 in their last eight starts against right-handers. The Brewers will start Brandon woodruff (2-3, 3.67 ERA) and this hard throwing righty has 48 K's in 41 innings while allowing just 37 hits with a WHIP of 1.18. Aaron Civale (3-4, 3.72) will start after surrendering five earned runs in his last outing. Take the BREWERS! |
09-05-20 | Padres v. A's -107 | 4-8 | Win | 100 | 5 h 47 m | Show
San Diego at Oakland 4:10 ET A's over Padres- San Diego's 7-0 win over the A's late night was just their 2nd in seven tries against Oakland. I expect the A's top bounce-back Saturday as they are 40-15 in their last 55 home games and 20-8 after scoring two runs or less. Padres will start ace Chris Paddack (3-3, 4.43 ERA) who hasn't pitched to expectations surrendering 10 homer in just 42 innings and he is facing the A's for the first time. Sean Manaea (2-2, 5.64) hasn't been at his best either but has won his last two starts. Take OAKLAND! |
09-04-20 | Padres v. A's -134 | 7-0 | Loss | -134 | 10 h 11 m | Show
San Diego at Oakland 9:40 ET A's over Padres- Without a doubt San Diego has emerged as a threat in the West as the added firepower is delivering big time. Oakland meanwhile who is 13-4 at home last played Sunday and were swept in a double-headed by the Astros in Houston. The layoff was cause by an A's player testing positive for COVID-19 on August 28. Zach Davies (5-2, 2.61 ERA) gets the start for the Padres while Jesus Luzardo (2-1, 3.74) who hasn't pitched in 11 days. Oakland has won seven of eight meetings and 11 of 15 at home against the Padres. Take the ATHLETICS! |
09-04-20 | Astros v. Angels +105 | 5-6 | Win | 105 | 10 h 42 m | Show
Houston at L.A. Angels 9:10 ET Angels over Astros- Houston is finding it a bit difficult on the road this winning just five of 14 away games this season. It appears that the Astros do a lot better when they know what pitch is coming. The will start right-hander Lance McCullers (3-2, 5.06 ERA) who is 3-3 with a 3.83 ERA in 12 career starts against the Halos. He has had one appearance against LA this season surrendering four runs on six hits and four walks in a no-decision. The Angles will start this season's best Dylan Bundy (4-2, 2.47) and he is looking to post his first career win (0-3) against the Astros. Take LA ANGELS! |
09-04-20 | Phillies v. Mets -120 | Top | 5-3 | Loss | -120 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York Mets 7:10 ET Mets over Phillies- Philadelphia was in a bad way two weeks ago as they were 5-games under .500 but a 4-game sweep of the Nationals and now they have won nine of 10. The Phillies have already swept (3-0) the Mets in a series at Philadelphia and have won five in-a-row against the 'Muts' and are 5-2 in New York. The former 'Whiz Kids' will start Jake Arrieta (2-4, 6.49 ERA) who is struggling and is 1-4 with a 4.06 ERA in New York. As bad as the Mets have been they are still 8-3 at home against teams with winning records. The Amazin's will start Rick Porcello (1-4, 6.00) who has actually thrown better than his record and looks to atone for an earlier season loss to the Phillies. Take the M-E-T-S! |
09-03-20 | Yankees v. Mets -101 | Top | 7-9 | Win | 100 | 6 h 35 m | Show |
N.Y. Yankees at N.Y. Mets 4:10 ET Mets over Yankees- The Yankees are hurting in more ways than one as they have four players in their lineup that are hitting .213 or lower withy three starters still under .200 including the 'Hoax' Gary Sanchez who not only can't catch but can't hit either (.130). The is a bad stretch for the bronx Bombers as they have lost 9-of-13 overall and are 3-8 in their last 11 games on the road as well as 1-4 in their last five inter-league games. The Mets on the other hand are 5-1 in their last six games as inter-league underdogs. Mets haven't played that well but are 12-5 in their last 17 home games against teams with winning records. Take M-E-T-S! |
09-02-20 | Tigers v. Brewers -160 | 5-8 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show
Detroit at Milwaukee 7:40 ET Brewers over Tigers- Can you believe that Detroit has a six-game winning streak and are now 17-16 on the season. Spencer Turnbull (3-2, 2.97 ERA) gets the start for the tigers and he had a short stint last time out lasting just two innings after walking four batters. Milwaukee who is just 7-10 at home will start Adrian Houser (1-3, 4.36) who is off his shortest career start. The Brewers are 6-2 in eight meetings with the Tigers and 4-1 as hosts and 5-2 as home favorites in their last seven games. Take MILWAUKEE! |
09-02-20 | Rays v. Yankees -125 | Top | 5-2 | Loss | -125 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Yankees over Rays- When this shortened season began the Yankees were the over-whelming favorite to run the table into the post-season. But, it appears that the rays want to have a say in that and had defeated new York six straight times before the Yanks win last night. NY is ladened with injuries to key personal but still have great depth. Tonight, Tampa Bay will start Charlie Morton (1-1, 5.40 ERA) who has had a pair of quality starts after getting bombed his first time out, he is 4-2 with a 3.99 ERA lifetime against New York. The Yanks will start Jordan Montgomery (2-1, 4.44) who is 1-1 with a 3.54 ERA in five career starts against NY. Despite their recent success the Rays are just 17-38 in their last 55 meetings at Yankee Stadium. Take NEW YORK YANKS! Thank you and Good Luck! |
09-02-20 | Cardinals v. Reds -148 | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 25 m | Show
St. Louis at Cincinnati 6:40 ET Reds over Cardinals- When the season began Cincinnati was considered the 'Dark horse' in the NL Central and have been a major disappointment to date trailing the Cubs by seven games with just 24 games to go. St. Louis has played just 27 games and the schedule has become heavy with games as they start Johan Oviedo (0-1, 3.60 ERA) who is making his third start of the season. The Reds will start Tyler Mahle (1-1, 3.96) and he is up against a Cards team that is 20-7 in their last 27 meetings in Cincinnati. The Reds have yet to win a home series but with this line being what it is I suspect they win here. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-01-20 | White Sox v. Twins +101 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 101 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Chicago White Sox at Minnesota 8:10 ET Twins over White Sox- Minnesota is looking forward to the return of Michael Pineda who was suspended last September and is still considered the twins ace. Pineda was 4-0 against Chicago last season with a 2.88 ERA in four starts. The White Sox will start veteran Dallas Keuchel (5-2, 2.70 ERA) who is 4-3 lifetime against Minnesota but just 1-2 at Target Field where the Twins have defeated the Sox 10 of 14 times and 19 of last 17 meetings. Take MINNESOTA! |
08-31-20 | Padres v. Rockies -108 | Top | 6-0 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
San Diego at Colorado 9:40 ET Rockies over Padres- Let me start by saying the San Diego is for real as their latino sluggers Tatis and Machado are leading the way. The Padres haven't been to the post season since 2006 and they have made four trades before the deadline and are serious about picking up some pitching. Tonight they will start one of the hurlers that they have counted on and he is struggling. Garrett Richards (1-2, 5.17 ERA) has been hit hard of late and one start at Coors Field this season he allowed four runs and eight hits in 5.2 innings. German Marquez (2-4, 4.50) and he is 5-2 lifetime against the Padres with 69 K's in 55 innings. San Diego is just 4-12 as road dogs while the Rockies are 6-2 as hosts against the Pods and 4-1 versus the NL West. Take COLORADO! |
08-30-20 | Braves v. Phillies -119 | Top | 12-10 | Loss | -119 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
Atlanta at Philadelphia 7:10 ET Phillies over Braves- The Phillies after a rough start have pulled themselves up the hard way and have now won five straight to bring them at .500 at 14-14 with 32 games left to play. Philadelphia will start Jake Arrieta (2-3, 4.32 ERA) who is 6-3 with a 2.93 ERA in 10 lifetime starts against Atlanta. The Braves who will debut Huascar Ynoa (0-0, 4.32) as a starter and his road support will be lacking. The Braves who are 2-14 as road underdogs in their last 16 and 2-6 on the road in their last eight. The Phillies have won their last five at home and defeated Atlanta 6-of-8 at home. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
08-29-20 | Nationals v. Red Sox +102 | Top | 3-5 | Win | 102 | 9 h 34 m | Show |
Washington at Boston 7:30 ET Red Sox over Nationals- In a 'new' MLB playoff system that will add more teams into the post-season these two clubs most likely will not qualify. Boston will start Chris Mazza (0-1, 6.35 ERA) who at 30 years of age in making just his 12the MLB start. The Nationals will send Anibal Sanchez ( 1-3, 6.48) who is coming off his first solid performance of the year. Washington beats-up on lefties but are just 6-18 against right handers. Boston who is 66-29 in inter-league games are 5-2 in the last seven meetings. Take BOSTON! |
08-29-20 | A's v. Astros -103 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 5 h 5 m | Show
Oakland at Houston 9:10 ET Astros over A's- Oakland has the best record in baseball winning 22 of 32 in with this shortened season and are starting a countdown on their 'magic' number looking to qualify for the playoffs early. Houston trails the A's by 4.5-games and are 0-6 in the last six meetings but are 46-15 as home favorites and 50-21 versus the AL West. The Astros after a slow start are 10-4 in their last 14 overall and need a win over the run-away Athletics. Houston's Lance McCullers (2-2, 5.74 ERA) is 4-2 with a 4.40 ERA in eight career starts against Oakland while Chris Bassitt (2-1, 3.51) starts for the A's and is 2-1 lifetime over the Astros. Houston needs this win over the A's in the worst way...take the ASTROS! Thank you and Good Luck! |
08-28-20 | Indians v. Cardinals +118 | 14-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 43 m | Show
Cleveland at St. Louis 8:15 ET Cardinals over Indians- Two of MLB's top pitching staffs are set to begin a series in St. Louis where the Cardinals and Indians are 9-2-1 Under in their last 12 meetings. The Red Birds will send Ponce de Leon (0-2, 5.25 ERA) who has struggled with control so far this season. Cleveland will start Triston McKenzie (1-0, 1,50) who will be making his 2nd MLB start ever and is up against a Cardinals club that has woN 4 of their last five. Take ST. LOUIS! |
08-28-20 | Royals +134 v. White Sox | 5-6 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 1 m | Show
Kansas City at Chicago White Sox 8:10 ET Royals over White Sox- Teams with mirror records face off in Chicago where the 19-12 White Sox will host 12-19 Kansas City. The 'Pale Hose' have won 9-of-10 as they lead the AL with 59 homers and their starting pitching has an ERA of 2.60 since July 29. They will start Reynaldo Lopez (0-1, 13.50 ERA) who is 4-3 with a 5.19 ERA against the Royals in 12 career starts while KC starts veteran lefty Danny Duffy (202, 3.99) who is 10-6 with a 4.04 ERA lifetime against Chicago. In a mild surprise...play of KANSAS CITY! Thank you and Good Luck! |
08-26-20 | Rockies v. Diamondbacks -132 | Top | 8-7 | Loss | -132 | 11 h 40 m | Show |
Colorado at Arizona 9:40 ET Diamondbacks over Rockies- Colorado who got off to a quick start in this shortened season but have come back to the pack going 2-8 in their last 10 games and sit with a break-even mark of 15-15 right now. A pair of 1-3 pitchers will take the hill today with inflated ERA. The Rockies send Jon Gray (1-3, 6.23 ERA) to the mound and he is 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA on the road. Arizona will start Robbie Ray (1-3, 8.33) who despite his record has 35 strikeouts in just 27 innings but his 25 walks have put him behind the 8-ball. Ray contends that his problems were mechanical and he has solved the issue. We will see! The Rockies are 1-8 in their last nine games as underdogs and 15-38 as road underdogs while Arizona is 7-1 in their last eight games as home favorites and are 9-4 over the Rockies in the last 13 meetings. Take the DIAMONDBACKS. Thank you and good luck! |
08-25-20 | Reds +101 v. Brewers | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 42 m | Show |
Cincinnati at Milwaukee 8:10 ET Reds over Brewers- To start with I think Milwaukee's ship has sailed and their time be it small has passed as they just don't seem to have the mojo needed to compete consistently at the highest level. Hard throwing Brandon Woodruff (1-2, 3.23 ERA) take the hill for the Brewers and he's young with 33 K's in 30.2 innings while surrendering 29 hits, I like him I really do, but he hasn't gone more than five innings before trouble starts. Cincinnati will go with Luis Castillo (0-3, 4.44) who is looking for his first win in this his sixth start. Ever tough on batters he has 36 K's in just 26 innings and he's coming off a poor start against the Royals. Last season with the Reds he was 15-8 with 226 K's in 190 innings and allowed just 139 hits. I expect he returns to form here. Take CINCINNATI! |
08-24-20 | Royals +166 v. Cardinals | 3-9 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 30 m | Show
Kansas City at St. Louis 8:15 ET Royals over Cardinals- St. Louis like all other teams have a 'personal' rival and for the Cardinals it is the Cubs but, like the Yankees and teams with great traditions they have other 'rivals' that may take the meeting with a sterner attitude. The Red Birds have won the last three meetings and six of seven between the two but they haven't played since a year ago August 2019. The attraction tonight will be on the mound as St. Louis sends their emerging ace Jack Flaherty (1-0, 3.12 ERA) who is 2-0 with a 1.29 ERA against the Royals while Kansas City will send out Brad Keller (3-0, 0.00) who has allowed just eight hits in 17.2 innings of work. This season KC's bats are strong while the Cards have played only 17 games and they have only 14 homers to 31 by the Royals in 28 games. The Royals are also hitting 25-points higher as a team .249/.224. Heavy dog with a gander...take KANSAS CITY! |
08-24-20 | Cubs v. Tigers +126 | 9-3 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Chicago Cubs at Detroit 7:10 ET Tigers over Cubs- I feel like 'we' stole one yesterday laying over -170 in any game is not my style but I saw what Yu Darvish has been doing without any support. Sunday he allows a single run on a solo home and the Cubs eek out a 2-1 win for us. But, that is as far as I am going to go with this team at this time as Kris Bryant is out along with other key position players. The storyline on this game should be and will be focused on Detroit starter Casey Mize (0-0, 6.23 ERA) who had seven K's in 4.2 innings in his debut against the White Sox. Mize was the top pick from Auburn in the 2018 draft an has career ERA of 2.76 in 26 minor league starts. He will be opposed by Chicago's Alec Mills (2-2, 4.76) coming off his worst outing this season he will be facing Detroit for the first time. Cubbies started 13-3 but their bats have caught a virus and they are 3-7 in last 10 and add that they are 5-13 in the last 18 meetings with the Tigers. Of course tigers will aways get the best of cubs especially when they are hurting. Take DETROIT! |
08-24-20 | Twins v. Indians +108 | Top | 3-2 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 44 m | Show |
Minnesota at Cleveland 7:10 ET Indians over Twins- These two will end up fighting it out for the AL Central title and right now Minnesota has a 1.5-game lead over the Indians thanks to a strong 12-3 record at home. The twins have taken 3-of-4 as hosts as the Tribe managed just four runs in three games. All eyes will be on Kenta Maeda (3-0, 2.27 ERA) who took a no-hitter into the ninth against the Brewers Tuesday while striking out 12. His mound opponent for Cleveland will be Aaron Civale (3-2, 2.91) who has 32 strikeouts in 31.2 innings with get this just three walks. I can see Maeda having difficulty staying focused after his huge letdown from losing the no-hitter and as a matter of fact he didn't even figure in the decision. I don't see him being 'up' or sharp for this outing. Take CLEVELAND! |
08-23-20 | Astros v. Padres +105 | 3-5 | Win | 105 | 5 h 15 m | Show
Houston at San Diego 4:10 ET Padres over Astros- Now this is scary for a number of reasons. To start with Zack Greinke (1-0, 1.84 ERA) who has not only been outstanding this season but during his entire career against San Diego. Just, get a drift of this, he is 13-3 with a 2.37 ERA and a WHIP of 0.918. The Padres who lead the NL in homers with 54 in 29 games have hit five with the bases loaded and won six straight games. Houston should continue to struggle on the road 5-8 while Pods are 10-4 as hosts. Take the hot team over the hot pitcher. Take SAN DIEGO! |
08-23-20 | Angels +120 v. A's | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Oakland 4:10 ET Angels over A's- You know winning my Megabucks yesterday was fine, but to blow a pair of games in extra innings with leads (Boston) in the 10th and the Phillies blow a late four-run lead at Atalanta. Okay enough of that, well almost and I'm pissed two days ago with the Angels blowing a ninth inning lead to the A's. Okay, now...Dylan Bundy (3-2, 2.48 ERA) will start for L.A. And he is off a beating by the Giants while Oakland will start Frankie Montas (2-2, 4.74) who's control hasn't hit the mark yet. Montas was rocked by Arizona last time out as he complained of upper back stiffness. Take L.A. ANGELS! |
08-23-20 | White Sox v. Cubs -172 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 3 h 21 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs 2:00 ET Cubs over White Sox- I hate playing a club that is on a downslide and the Cubs fit that bill having lost their last two and seven of their last 10. The White Sox are on the other end having won their last seven and will start Dylan Cease (4-1, 3.16 ERA) who has won his last four starts with an ERA of 1.93. The Cubs are going with Yu Darvish (4-1, 1.80) and he is at his best since coming to the Cubs and is 3-1 with a 1.96 ERA at home. Take the CUBS! |
08-22-20 | Rangers v. Mariners -134 | Top | 1-10 | Win | 100 | 10 h 27 m | Show |
Texas at Seattle 9:10 ET Mariners over Rangers- The lowly Mariners have a ray of hope in youngster Justus Sheffield (1-2, 4.12 ERA) who finally posted his first MLB win after nine big league starts. Texas will start Jordan Lyles (1-2, 7.52) who has allowed 10 earned runs in his last two starts and he is 1-2 with a 5.17 ERA against Seattle. Texas has dropped six straight and is 4-10 against left-handers and 1-6 as road dogs. Take SEATTLE! |
08-22-20 | Red Sox -108 v. Orioles | 4-5 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 37 m | Show
Boston at Baltimore 7:35 ET Red Sox over Orioles- When you are hot you're hot and when you are not you're not. Boston when ended a nine-game losing streak with a win over Philadelphia and now two more over Baltimore and have a 3-game win streak working. The Red Sox will start Martin Perez (2-3, 4.07 ERA) who is 4-5 with a 5.19 ERA against the O's. The Birds will start Alex Cobb (1-2, 3.76) who is 8-6 with a 3.73 ERA lifetime against the Red Sox. Boston is 4-1 in their last five games when favored while Baltimore is 18-39 in their last 57 games against left-handers and jus 340-70 at home. Take BOSTON! |
08-22-20 | Phillies -110 v. Braves | 5-6 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 19 m | Show
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:10 ET Phillies over Braves- Atlanta will start Robbie Erlin (0-0, 5.40 ERA) who was released by Pittsburgh the weakest team in baseball two weeks ago and now starts for the Braves. Do you realize how bad you have to be in order to get released by the Pirates? His mound opponent for the Phillies will be Zach Wheeler (3-0, 2.81) who is like a new man after being signed by Philadelphia as a free agent. Although the Phillies are just 4-11 in their last 15 games in Atlanta and 3-13 in their last 16 road games they have enough to beat the Braves tonight. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
08-21-20 | Angels -120 v. A's | Top | 3-5 | Loss | -120 | 11 h 17 m | Show |
L.A. Angels at Oakland 9:40 ET Angels over A's- Talk about a 'Don't make sense' line on a game this is it today. Andrew Heaney (1-1, 4.74 ERA) was the Angels opening bday starter and things haven't gone as well as he had hoped. Los Angeles has lost four of his five starts to date and he opened the favorite against Oakland who has the best record in the AL and are 11-3 at home and yet an underdog here. Mike Fiers (2-1, 5.96) get his sixth start of the year and his third against the Angels and is 0-1 surrendering nine runs in 7.2 innings. He has allowed seven home runs the second most in the AL. Take the ANGELS! |
08-21-20 | White Sox -107 v. Cubs | 10-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show
Chicago White Sox at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET White Sox over Cubs- A great 'Windy City' matchup has the run-away division leader Cubs hosting their cross town rival the White Sox. The AL Sox will send Dallas Keuchel (3-2, 3.07 ERA) to the hill and he will be opposed by veteran ace Jon Lester (2-0, 2.74) who is as sharp as ever and carries a lifetime 11-6 with a 4.02 ERA in 19 career starts against his rivals. Keuchel is 9-7 in inter-league play with a 2.97 ERA) who gets the win today. Take the WHITE SOX! |
08-21-20 | Phillies +100 v. Braves | 2-11 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 33 m | Show
Philadelphia at Atlanta 7:10 ET Phillies over Braves- Okay, here it is, both clubs are starting their aces as the first place and home town Braves send Max Fried (3-0, 1.24 ERA) who hasn't given up a run in his last two starts. Philadelphia will start Aaron Nola (2-1, 2.05) who has like Fried thrown 13 straight scoreless innings is 11-5 with a 2.82 ERA in 19 career starts against Atlanta. Fried is 2-2 with a 4.55 ERA lifetime against the Phillies. The fact that the visitor is just 4-10 at Atlanta and yet are favored over the Braves ace gives me pause to wonder why Nola is favored here. Add that Philly is 2-4 on the road and Atlanta 8-3 at home gives me the visitor that with this line. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
08-20-20 | Reds -137 v. Cardinals | Top | 4-5 | Loss | -137 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
Cincinnati at St. Louis 8:15 ET Reds over Cardinals- St. Louis who miss 17 days because of COVID-19 outbreak last played at home on July 26 but have played eight games in five days in Chicago against the Cubs and White Sox. The Reds were also kept off the field because of a minor outbreak and missed four days themselves. The Cardinals have used 21 different pitchers in those eight games in the Windy City and 25 overall this season will start Adam Wainwright (2-0, 1.64 ERA) who has had little success against Cincinnati. He is 10-12 lifetime with a 5.25 ERA and was 1-1 with a 6.75 ERA last season in three starts. The Reds will start Sonny Gray (4-1, 2.05) who has allowed one run or fewer in four of five starts and he is 1-1 with a 1.08 ERA in three career starts against the Red Birds. Take CINCINNATI. Thank you and Good luck! |
08-20-20 | Red Sox -134 v. Orioles | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
Boston at Baltimore 7:35 ET Red Sox over Orioles- Boston is just where I love to see them...at the bottom of the heap as they have the fewest wins in the AL and are just 2-8 on the road. Yet, we seen the smelly Sox a favorite on the road here. Granted it is just the Orioles but Baltimore is a much improved club and is currently at 12-12 but are just 4-9 at home. They will start World Series hero Nathan Eovaldi (1-2, 5.93 ERA) who is 4-1 lifetime against the O's and Boston is 20-6 in their last 25 meetings in Baltimore and they are 25-9 as road favorites! Take BOSTON! |
08-20-20 | Brewers v. Twins -101 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 7 h 20 m | Show
Milwaukee at Minnesota 7:10 ET Twins over Brewers- Interesting pitching matchup as the Twins send Jose Barrios (1-3, 5.92 ERA) to the mound and his counterpart will be the Brewers Brandon Woodruff (1-1, 3.16). Barrios hasn't found his groove yet as his control has been spotty where as Woodruff is one of the hardest throwers in baseball and has 30 K's in 25.2 innings but is 0-1 in his only start against Minnesota. Brewers were no-hit for eight innings before losing in 10 last night and are just 2-5 in the last seven meetings. Take MINNESOTA |
08-19-20 | Diamondbacks +149 v. A's | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Arizona at Oakland 9:40 ET Diamondbacks over A's- Arizona started the year 3-8 and looked like an also-ran before the season was even two weeks old, but a turn around has them 10-3 since including winning their last six. Merrill Kelly (3-1, 1.71 ERA) is 7-2 with a 1.97 ERA in his last nine starts and has not allowed a run in his last 11 innings pitched. Oakland who is 9-3 at home will start Jesus Luzardo (1-0, 4.79) who was bombed by the Giants his last time out but received no decision. A's just 5-11 against the NL West. Take ARIZONA! |
08-19-20 | Rangers +119 v. Padres | Top | 3-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 51 m | Show |
Texas at San Diego 9:10 ET |
08-19-20 | Astros v. Rockies +138 | 13-6 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Houston at Colorado 8:40 ET Rockies over Astros- To start with I have trouble understanding why the Astros are such heavy favorites on the road in Colorado where the Rockies are at their best. Houston who is on a six-game winning streak (all at home) is just 3-6 away from where they are able to know what pitches are coming. Rookie Ryan Castellani (0-0, 1.04 ERA) makes his third start and has 10 K's and only three walks and have his teams confidence. It appears that the heavy line is due to the series records of these two clubs as the Astros are 7-1 in the mile High City and 14-2 in the last 16 meetings overall. But, the Rockies are 7-1 in their last eight against left-handers starters. Take COLORADO! |
08-18-20 | Phillies -120 v. Red Sox | 13-6 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
Philadelphia at Boston 7:10 ET Phillies over Red Sox- Boston returns home on an eight game losing streak and the best part that got swept by the Yankees who have beaten them 10 straight times. Now, here's my thought if the Red Sox can't be competitive against New York then they really do suck. The Phillies have been a disappointment so far but can get even with a win tonight as the enter on a three game winning streak and are 8-9. Philly bats have come alive with Harper and Realmuto doing the damage as they start Zach Eflin (0-1, 3.60) who is nothing special but the 'Dead Sox' are sending Zack Godley (0-2, 8.16) to the mound and he is god awful. Take PHILADELPHIA! Thank you and Good Luck. |
08-18-20 | Rays -106 v. Yankees | Top | 6-3 | Win | 100 | 16 h 0 m | Show |
Tampa Bay at New York Yankees 7:05 ET Rays over Yankees- The Yankees have now hit 44 home runs in 21 games and are on a six game winning streak and have won all nine games played at home. In a rarity the Yanks have lost one game when they played as the home team expect for a loss in Philadelphia. Tonight they are starting Masahiro Tanaka (0-0, 2.31 ERA) who has allowed just 10 hits in 11 innings covering three starts. New York has dominated this series at home going 37-14 the last 51 meetings and 47-14 as host in their last 61 overall. Okay, you should get the point by now. So, I ask you. How is it Tampa Bay is favored against the 'hottest' team in baseball who leads the majors in wins at their park where they are dominating? Well, maybe it's because Blake Snell (1-0, 1.08) is on the hill for the Rays but, he's averaging just 3.1 innings per start I think the key is that the Yankees are 1-5 as underdogs...Take TAMPA BAY! Thank you and Good Luck. |
08-17-20 | A's v. Diamondbacks -105 | Top | 3-4 | Win | 100 | 11 h 60 m | Show |
Oakland at Arizona 6:40 ET Diamondbacks over A's- This another game that pains me as I ready do like this Oakland team and there never say-die attitude that has helped four their last four three times overcoming leads in improbable fashion. Not to be outdone Arizona has a 4-game win streak of their own rallying late in the last two defeating the Padres. The A's lead the 'bigs' in wins with 16 and they moving into hostile territory as those cut outs can be very intimation especially with as Zac Gallen (0-0, 2.74 ERA) the best winless pitcher in MLB with 28 K's in 23 innings while allowing just 20 hits. No mind if it is Bassitt (who I like) this is a letdown spot for Oakland and that's the story. Oh okay, they are also 2-6 in their last eight games in Arizona! Take the DIAMONDBACKS! Thank you and Good Luck! |
08-17-20 | Padres -135 v. Rangers | 14-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 14 m | Show
San Diego at Texas 9:05 ET Padres over Rangers- Who is good and who is not it usually take about 100 games to begin to sort things out who now...who knows? Crazy, isn't it, the season is 1/3 over and it won't be long before we all say how did that happen. We have just had a great senescence with and against the padres and I can't see for any reason for it not to continue if and when it does so will we. It was a week ago and San Diego had just taken the Dodgers down the first two-games of a 4-game series and they were sitting at 11-6 just a hair behind the Rockies then it all happened they lost the final pair at LS and dropped three straight in Arizona blowing late leads on Saturday and Sunday. Now, Texas had a pair of mini streaks winning three and four and seven of eight altogether and that came to and end Sunday with the Rockies win 10-6. Tonight, Zach Davies (2-2, 2.78) with a WHIP of 0.84 gets the start for San Diego who is 10-3 as inter-league favorites but just 7-19 in their last 26 road games. Texas is 6-1 in their last seven home games and 5-0 at home as an underdog when hosting, but the phone rang and it not their night...and there is nothing that they can do about it! Take the PADRES! |
08-17-20 | Mets -147 v. Marlins | 11-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
New York Mets at Miami 7:10 ET Mets over Marlins- These are not two of my favorite starting pitchers so much so that I am unofficially thinking that this is going to be a high scoring game. I've watching Mets starter Robert Gsellman and after five years I am still waiting for him to get some one one...someone...anyone. Ha, so he is favored on the road with the mets having g lost their last three games. The reason is the Marlins have had their fun and now reality sets in. Miami started Jordan Yamamoto had a great debut last season but this year he has a 2.08 WHIP and the Marlins are in a deep dive. New York is just 2-5 in their last seven but 20-8 over Miami in the last 28 meetings. Take NEW YORK! |
08-16-20 | Padres v. Diamondbacks +109 | 4-5 | Win | 109 | 6 h 1 m | Show
San Diego at Arizona 4:10 ET Diamondbacks over Padres- It's just the way things go in baseball, a week ago the Padres were the latest rage with Tatis Jr. and Machado leading the way. They have (very under-rated front line pitching) but then you find that you have lost four straight and nine straight times in Arizona. The Diamondbacks will send re-tread Robbie Ray (1-2, 10.59 ERA)to the hill who has been nothing short of atrocious allowing 20 runs in 17 innings while surrendering seven homers. Ray is 33-15 the past three seasons with a low ERA of 2.89 in 2018. Garrett Richards (1-1, 3.74) will get the start and most of the money here, he's off his season's best holding the Dodgers to one run in six innings. He comes back to the pack today. Take ARIZONA! |
08-16-20 | Brewers +115 v. Cubs | Top | 6-5 | Win | 115 | 4 h 18 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 2:20 ET Brewers over Cubs- I can't tell you how much it pains me to play against Chicago here because of Jon Lester (2-0, 1.06 ERA) as he has proven over the years that he is indeed a 'big game' pitcher and with the Cubs having dropped three straight at home to the Brewers I's say this is a big game. But, there is always the possibility that he can pitch well and still not win the game as Milwaukee is 8-2 in their last 10 against left-handers and 7-3 in their last 10 as road underdogs. Brewers starer Josh Lindblom (1-0, 5.68) is starting to blow people away with his hard stuff as he has 20 strike-outs in 12.2 innings. Lifetime as a reliever he is 8-1 with an unimpressive ERA. Still, I don't prefer warm beer bit the Brewers are the side. Take MILWAUKEE! Thank you and Good Luck! |
08-16-20 | Braves -102 v. Marlins | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 3 h 56 m | Show
Atlanta at Miami 1:10 ET Braves over Marlins- 'Enough is enough' that's when the Braves are thinking coming into this encounter with the East Division leading Marlins (9-5). I agree it is a small sample but Atlanta still has to contend with Philadelphia, the Mets staff and the Nationals who will be heard from before it's all said and done. Miami who had 18 players test positive for COVID-19 and lost 105 games last season are 10-games behind the rest of baseball (except for the Cardinals) that have been postponed. Although Miami has played well all on the road they are just 2-7 in their last nine home games against teams with wining records while Atlanta is 7-0 after scoring two runs or less in their previous game. Take the BRAVES! |
08-15-20 | Dodgers v. Angels +146 | Top | 6-5 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 48 m | Show |
L.A. Dodgers at L.A. Angels 9:40 ET Angels over Dodgers- The Dodgers hard throwing Walker Buehler (0-0, 4.40 ERA) has yet to find his grove as his control has been his biggest issue. Although, he has allowed just seven hits in over 14 innings of work and four of those hits have been home runs along with eight walks. The Angels will start Andrew Heaney (1-1, 4.26) who is looking to rebound off of his worst performance of the season allowing five runs in 3.2 innings against Texas last Sunday. Still, Heaney can be very tricky and the Angels rise here. Take the ANGELS! |
08-15-20 | Padres v. Diamondbacks +107 | 6-7 | Win | 107 | 9 h 4 m | Show
San Diego at Arizona 8:10 ET D'backs over Padres- After a slow start Arizona has quietly won six of their last nine and are averaging better than seven runs per game over that span. The Diamondbacks will start Alex Young (1-0, 4.66 ERA) who is making his first career start against San Diego who are on a 3-game losing streak. The Slumping Padres will send right-hander Cal Quantrill (2-0, 3.13) who makes his first start after three relief appearances as their offense has gone dormant scoring just three runs in their last three games. Take ARIZONA! |
08-15-20 | Brewers -114 v. Cubs | 6-5 | Win | 100 | 4 h 19 m | Show
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 3:20 ET Brewers over Cubs- The Cubs who are off to their best start in over a century is having rotation problems as Tyler Chatwood was the latest of their pitching staff to be sidelined because of injury. Chicago will go to Colin Rea who will be making his first start since 2016 and is 7-7 in his career as a starter. Adrian Houser (1-1, 2.65 ERA) will start for Milwaukee and the Brewers after a slow start have started to show some life with Yelich beginning to hit and Ryan Braun is returning to the lineup. Take the BREWERS! |
08-14-20 | Rangers -119 v. Rockies | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 28 m | Show
Texas at Colorado 8:40 ET Rangers over Rockies- This is another 'Don't make sense' where the Rockies are involved. What I mean by that is here is Colorado 12-6 with the best record in the NL West hosting a sub .500 Rangers team that is 1-5 on the road. Texas will start Lance Lynn (2-0, 1.16 ERA) who has been sharp this season including an opening day win over the Rockies striking out nine in six innings. He is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA at Coors Field while the Ryan Castellani (0-0, 0.00) gets his first start after working four innings with allowing a hit or run. The clincher for me is that the Rangers re 4-0 in their last four games in the Mile High City. Take TEXAS! |
08-14-20 | Brewers -111 v. Cubs | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 35 m | Show
Milwaukee at Chicago Cubs 8:15 ET Brewers over Cubs- This is another difficult line to understand. Milwaukee who is struggling winning just seven of 17 games and are favored on the road here which just doesn't float. Here are the Rockies leading their Division and is an underdog at home where they are 8-1 on the season. Add that Chicago is on a seven game winning streak just fuels my suspicion that there is 'something' wrong here. Brandon Woodruff (1-1, 2.53 ERA) will start for the Brewers while Tyler Chatwood (2-1, 5.40) gets the nod for the Cubs. Milwaukee is 12-5 in their last 17 as road favorites. Take the BREWERS! |
08-14-20 | Braves v. Marlins -103 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
Atlanta at Miami 4:10 ET Marlins over Braves- It's a short season and almost all gave a thought of some club that could never withstand the grind of 162 games sneaking into the post season. It's early but so far it appears that Miami could be that team currently leading the Division with and 8-4 recored including 2-0 at home. Atlanta started rough and has been bobbin' & weaven' since they are 11-9 on the season and just 4-7 on the road. The Braves will start Kyle Wright (0-2, 6.75 ERA) and he has yet to win in the 'bigs' and is 0-5 with a 7.41 ERA in seven career starts. Miami will send out Pablo Lopez (1-1, 1.80) who has been the Marlins most consistent hurler the past two seasons with an ERA of 3.512 at home in 100 innings. Take MIAMI! |
08-13-20 | Nationals v. Mets -128 | 2-8 | Win | 100 | 3 h 52 m | Show
Washington at New York Mets 1:00 ET Mets over Nationals- Washington the defending World Series champs are happy to be playing on the road where they are 4-1 this season and 8-1 in their last nine while they are just 2-7 at home. New York started slow offensively but Pete Alonso who had 53 home runs last year entered last nights game hitting under .200 but, three hits and his second homer lead the way last night. The Nationals will start Austin Voth (0-1, 1.80 ERA) is 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in three games against the Mets. New York will start David Peterson (2-1, 3.78) who will be facing Washington for the first time. Take the NEW YORK M-E-T-S! Thank you and Good luck! |
08-12-20 | Padres +140 v. Dodgers | 0-6 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 4 m | Show
San Diego at L.A Dodgers 9:40 ET padres over Dodgers- Watch-out with the 'new' blood stirring in San Diego the Padres are a team playing with a lost of confidence. They have won four of five and will start Zach Davies (2-1, 2.87 ERA) and he is 3-1 lifetime against the Dodgers with a 1.98 ERA. Los Angeles will start Tony Gonsolin (0-0, 0.00) will make the start as Julio Urias has been pushed back until tomorrow and has never faced the Padres. Take SAN DEIGO! Thank you and Good luck! |
08-12-20 | Cubs +109 v. Indians | 7-2 | Win | 109 | 6 h 29 m | Show
Chicago Clubs at Cleveland 6:10 ET Cubs over Indians- Chicago has come alive offensively while Cleveland is the worst hitting team in baseball and have already had seven games with one run scored or less. Cubs are 5-1 in the last six meetings in Cleveland and are 7-1 in their last eight games overall and 15-5, against the AL Central. There will be a clash of trends as the Indians are 10-2 against the NL Central and 20-7 in their last 27 against right-handers at home. But, not today...take the CUBBIES! |
08-12-20 | A's v. Angels -102 | Top | 8-4 | Loss | -102 | 5 h 39 m | Show |
Oakland at L.A. Angels 4:10 ET Angels over A's- The A's put together the longest win streak of the MLB season taking nine straight before running into the Angels on Monday and against yesterday. Now losers of two in-a-row Oakland will most likely continue on that negative trend. Chris Bassitt (1-0, 1.08 ERA) is taking the hill for the A's and he is off of a fine performance against the Astros allowing just three hits and one run in seven full innings, he is 2-2 with a 5.33 ERA in seven career starts against the Angles. L.A. Will start Channing Griffin (0-2. 3.13) and he will pick up his first win of the season. Mojo is important and the A's have lost it...take the ANGLES! Thank you and Good Luck! |
