01-23-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Atlanta Hawks -4.5 | Top | 93-103 | Win | 100 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
Hawks – 4.5 Atlanta has barely been challenged during a franchise record-tying 14-game win streak, but a quest for a new team standard will come against one of the league's hotter teams. The Hawks aim for a record 15th straight victory Friday at home against Oklahoma City, which has won four in a row of its own. Atlanta's dominant run continued with a 110-91 win over Indiana on Wednesday, when it improved to 2-0 on a seven-game homestand and had its 14th straight game in which it held a double-digit lead. Thunder are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Hawks are 9-0 ATS in their last 9 vs. Western Conference and are 40-15 ATS in their last 55 games overall. It wouldn’t be easy but the Hawks get the money over OKC. |
01-22-15 | San Antonio Spurs v. Chicago Bulls +6.5 | Top | 81-104 | Win | 100 | 5 h 0 m | Show |
Bulls + 6.5 Point guard Derrick Rose has put together four consecutive strong outings and averaged 25.5 points and 6.8 assists during the span. He has gone 18-of-32 from 3-point range, and coach Thibodeau feels the former MVP is regaining his previous form. Now his teammates need to step it up. The Spurs are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game. While the Spurs having been playing good ball I see the Bulls keeping this one close. Take the points. |
01-21-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Washington Wizards -1.5 | Top | 105-103 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 22 m | Show |
Wizards – 1.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder are above .500 for the first time all season, but they'll have their work cut out to stay there. The Thunder continue a challenging five-game road trip Wednesday against the Washington Wizards, their second of four straight tests against teams in line for the Eastern Conference playoffs. The Wizards have won seven of nine to surge to second place in the East. The Wizards have won three straight home games against the Thunder but dropped the first meeting this season, 109-102 at Oklahoma City on Jan. 2. Thunder are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Thunder are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Washington. Wizards are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest and are 15-7-1 ATS in their last 23 vs. NBA Northwest. |
01-21-15 | Dallas Mavericks -8.5 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 98-75 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Mavs – 8.5 The Dallas Mavericks look to keep pace in the tight race for the Southwest Division title when they hit the road to face the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. The Mavericks have won three of their last four games - including a 103-95 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies - to move within a half-game of the division leaders. Dallas has won five of its last seven on the road and hopes to continue its upward trend by beating the Timberwolves for the second straight time at Target Center. Minnesota has dropped eight consecutive games at Target Center and its 3-16 home record is tied for the worst in the NBA. Mavericks are 63-29 ATS in their last 92 road games and are 11-4 ATS in the last 15 meetings in Minnesota. Timberwolves are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 1 days rest. Dallas has every edge here so lay the points. |
01-21-15 | Toronto Raptors v. Memphis Grizzlies -5.5 | Top | 86-92 | Win | 100 | 7 h 21 m | Show |
Grizzlies – 5.5 The struggling Toronto Raptors made a change Monday and it paid off in snapping a two-game skid with a victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. The Raptors seek a winning streak for the first time since late December when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. The Grizzlies had a four-game win streak snapped in a 103-95 loss to Dallas on Monday despite the return of point guard Mike Conley. Toronto entered the Milwaukee contest with seven losses in nine games. Gasol and Randolph combined for 40 points and 30 rebounds in the first game with the Raptors, and Conley added 19 points and 10 rebounds. Raptors are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games overall and are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Raptors are 3-7-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings in Memphis. Grizzlies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Atlantic and are 47-22-1 ATS in their last 70 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Memphis is 8-3 ATS laying 6 points or less at home. I’m looking for Memphis to bounce back at home tonight. |
01-20-15 | San Antonio Spurs -8 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 109-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 40 m | Show |
Spurs – 8 The Denver Nuggets’ up-and-down campaign just hit one of its lowest points in a 43-point loss to the Golden State Warriors just last night. Denver had won five straight before its most recent slide, which includes a home loss to the Western Conference-worst Minnesota Timberwolves. The Spurs have been showing off their defense while winning five of the last six and are coming off an 89-69 triumph over Utah on Sunday. San Antonio got a big lift when forward Kawhi Leonard (hand) returned from a 15-game absence to score 20 points in a win over Portland on Friday, and he followed up with 12 points against the Jazz. Spurs are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest.Nuggets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points. Spurs are 22-8 ATS in the last 30 meetings in Denver. This is the Nuggets 4th game in 5 nights. Back the Spurs minus the points. |
01-20-15 | Oklahoma City Thunder -7.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 94-86 | Win | 100 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
Thunder – 7.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder can move above .500 for the first time all season when they travel to Miami to face the Heat. The Thunder started 3-12 while stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were battling injuries, but they've won two straight and seven of 11 to complete their climb out of the early hole. The Heat haven't seen .500 since the first week of December. Oklahoma City has hit its stride offensively, scoring 127 points in each of the past two games and averaging 106.6 while winning 17 of its last 25. Newcomer Dion Waiters has provided a spark off the bench since coming over from Cleveland, scoring 15 or more points in his last four games. Thunder are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 games after scoring more than 125 points in their previous game. Heat are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 home games and are 1-10-2 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. win. Lay the points with OKC on the road. |
01-19-15 | Chicago Bulls v. Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5 | Top | 94-108 | Win | 100 | 6 h 18 m | Show |
Cavs – 3.5 The Cleveland Cavaliers have put together back-to-back victories and attempt to post another win when they host the Chicago Bulls on Monday. Chicago has lost five of its last seven games after falling to the Atlanta Hawks 107-99 on Saturday. James averaged 33.7 points in his first three games back from the injuries while Kyrie Irving poured in 37 points in Friday’s win over the Clippers. Bulls are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games playing on 1 days rest. Favorite is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings. Chicago lost to the Cavaliers 114-108 earlier this season and is going through a tough period as it faces Cleveland for the second time. Back the Cavs here at home. |
01-16-15 | Atlanta Hawks -1 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 110-89 | Win | 100 | 7 h 19 m | Show |
Hawks – Pick Atlanta figures to have all hands on deck when it aims to tie the franchise's longest winning streak in 17 seasons at Toronto on Friday. The Hawks have continued to give key players nights off during their season-high 10-game run, which includes a 105-91 triumph in Boston on Wednesday, when starters Al Horford and Kyle Korver were given the night off. Jeff Teague, who scored 22 points against the Celtics, sat out the previous night at Philadelphia in the opener of a four-game road trip. Atlanta has also claimed a franchise-record 10 straight on the road and is 24-2 in its last 26 games overall, a run that began following a 126-115 home loss to Toronto on Nov. 26. Hawks are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Raptors are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. I’ll back the Hawks as my best play of the day. |
01-16-15 | Detroit Pistons -1.5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 98-96 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
Pistons – 1.5 Despite a hot stretch, Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy was not happy with the lack of energy his troops showed in a home loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. After his scathing postgame comments, Van Gundy will look for a better effort by the Pistons when they visit the Indiana Pacers on Friday. The Pacers are also coming off a poor home performance against the hapless Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday that resulted in a chorus of boos from the crowd. The Pistons entered Wednesday with nine wins in their first 10 games. The Pistons won the first matchup 119-109 on Dec. 26, the first game without Smith, as Monroe and Drummond dominated inside with a combined 39 points on 16-of-23 shooting, 21 rebounds and six steals.

01-14-15 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Portland Trail Blazers -4 | Top | 100-94 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 40 m | Show |
Portland – 4 The Portland Trail Blazers became the NBA first team to reach 30 wins and look to begin adding to the total when they host the Los Angeles Clippers. Portland defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 106-94 on Sunday to secure its 30th win and post the third-best start in franchise history. Los Angeles completed a 6-3 homestand by losing 104-90 to the Miami Heat on Sunday and coach Doc Rivers was high disappointed with his club’s effort. Portland has won 13 of its last 15 games and taken a strong step upward through the first half of the season to appear to be a solid postseason contender. The Clippers are 18-85 all-time when playing at Portland. Clippers are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Trail Blazers are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Lay the number with Portland. |
01-14-15 | New Orleans Pelicans v. Detroit Pistons -4 | Top | 105-94 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
Pistons – 4 Qualifying for the playoffs is suddenly a reality for the rejuvenated Detroit Pistons and they’ll try to draw a little closer when they host the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pistons have rallied to win nine of the last 10 and stands two games behind the Nets for eighth place in the East. The Pelicans seem to be heading in an opposite direction as they’ve lost three of four and haven’t won two straight since Dec. 16-18. Pistons are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win and are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Pelicans are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Let’s ride the Pistons again tonight. |
01-13-15 | Dallas Mavericks -5 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 108-104 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
Mavs – 5 The Mavericks got blown out by the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday afternoon and they’ll be trying to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. They should feel good about their chances after winning 19 of the last 21 regular-season games against the Kings. Mavericks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and are 48-20 ATS in their last 68 games following a S.U. loss. Kings are 3-10-2 ATS in their last 15 home games and are 4-15-2 ATS in their last 21 games overall. I see to many edges to pass up here with the Mavs, so lay the points. |
01-13-15 | San Antonio Spurs v. Washington Wizards -1 | Top | 93-101 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
Wizards – 1 The Spurs have pulled out of a rut that lasted nearly all of December and are winners of four of the last five. The Wizards earned a big win on Friday over Chicago but were crushed against another East contender in a 120-89 loss at Atlanta on Sunday. The Wizards are in the middle of the pack in the NBA in defensive 3-point percentage, allowing opponents to knock down 35.3 percent, but held the Spurs to 4-of-16 from beyond the arc in the Jan. 3 meeting. Spurs are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. win and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. Wizards are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a ATS loss. While the Spurs have had the Wizards number over the years I like Washington in this spot. |
01-12-15 | Detroit Pistons +6 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 114-111 | Win | 100 | 7 h 30 m | Show |
Pistons + 6 The Detroit Pistons aim for their first six-game road winning streak in nearly eight years when they travel to face the Toronto Raptors on Monday. The Pistons have won eight of nine overall since waiving Josh Smith on Dec. 22 and had just enough left in the tank Friday for a 98-93 win over Brooklyn, their fourth game in five days. Detroit has one of the most intimidating post duos in the league in Greg Monroe (14.9 points, 9.7 rebounds) and Andre Drummond (12.6 points, 13 rebounds, 1.8 blocks). Toronto had uncharacteristically allowed triple digits in five straight games before the win over the Celtics on Friday. Raptors are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Pistons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games and are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win. Take the points with the Pistons. |
01-10-15 | Brooklyn Nets v. Detroit Pistons -5 | Top | 93-98 | Push | 0 | 7 h 4 m | Show |
Pistons – 5 The Detroit Pistons hope to start another winning streak when they host the struggling Brooklyn Nets on Saturday. The Pistons had their improbable seven-game winning streak snapped with a 106-103 loss to Atlanta on Friday, but the Nets limp into town after suffering their fourth straight loss with a 90-88 setback to lowly Philadelphia. Pistons are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Nets are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games playing on 0 days rest and are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Let’s lay the points with the Pistons here at home. |
01-09-15 | Phoenix Suns +5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 95-100 | Push | 0 | 8 h 18 m | Show |
Suns + 5 The streaking Phoenix Suns look for their fifth straight victory when they visit the struggling San Antonio Spurs on Friday. Phoenix edged the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-111 on Wednesday for its 10th win in 12 games and has scored 100 or more points in 10 consecutive contests. San Antonio has been dealing with injuries and has lost nine of its last 14 games after falling 105-104 to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday. The Suns are averaging 113.4 points over their last 12 games, more than nine points higher than their average through their first 26 contests. Suns are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall. Suns are also 13-5 ATS in their last 18 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Spurs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. I look for the Suns to keep up their scoring trend and cover this game. |
01-09-15 | Atlanta Hawks -2.5 v. Detroit Pistons | Top | 106-103 | Win | 100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
Hawks – 2 ½ The Detroit Pistons have been one of the NBA's hottest teams over the past two weeks, but they'll have to contend with a club that has been surging for much longer when they host the Atlanta Hawks. The Pistons have won seven straight — the longest current streak in the league and Detroit's longest in six years. The Hawks have been even hotter, winning six straight and 20 of 22 to take over the top spot in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta has great balance, with all five starters averaging double-digit scoring, but point guard Jeff Teague (17.7 points, seven assists) has emerged as the go-to guy late in games. Hawks are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games following a ATS win. Pistons are 8-20 ATS in their last 28 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. I’ll back the Hawks on the highway. |
01-08-15 | Miami Heat v. Portland Trail Blazers -8.5 | Top | 83-99 | Win | 100 | 11 h 1 m | Show |
Portland – 8 ½ The Miami Heat found their way into the win column for the first time this year against Brooklyn on Sunday and will try to carry some of that momentum when they open a five-game West Coast road trip at the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. The Heat have been held under 90 points in the last two games and will need to find more offense against the Trail Blazers. Portland is averaging 106.2 points in winning five of its last six games. The Heat are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 vs. Western Conference and are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Heat are also just 1-10-1 ATS in their last 12 games following a S.U. win. Trail Blazers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. I look for Miami to be a little weary on their first game on a West Coast trip so back Portland minus the points. |
01-07-15 | Detroit Pistons +9 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 108-95 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Pistons + 9 Two of the hottest teams in the league tangle Wednesday, as the Dallas Mavericks host the resurgent Detroit Pistons in a matchup of clubs riding six-game winning streaks. The Mavericks' hot streak is no surprise — they're tied for third in the Western Conference and boast one of the most potent offenses in the NBA. The Pistons, meanwhile, have won all six games since waiving free-agent bust Josh Smith. Dallas hits the road again following tonight’s contest for three games out west, so this could be a flat spot for Rick Carlisle’s team, who owns a 3-8 ATS record in the past 11 games at American Airlines Center. Take the points with Detroit. |
01-07-15 | Memphis Grizzlies v. Atlanta Hawks -3.5 | Top | 86-96 | Win | 100 | 7 h 50 m | Show |
Hawks – 3.5 Division leaders and potential championship contenders square off when the Atlanta Hawks host the Memphis Grizzlies. The Hawks have won five straight and 19 of their last 21 to claim the best start in club history and surge to the top of the Eastern Conference standings. The Hawks are doing it with a balanced attack — all five starters average double-digit scoring with point guard Jeff Teague (17.4 points, 7.1 assists) and power forward Paul Millsap (17.2 points, 8.1 rebounds) leading the way. The Hawks also are fairly stingy, ranking fifth in the NBA in scoring defense (97.6), sixth in field-goal defense (43.9 percent) and eighth in 3-point field-goal defense (34.3). Grizzlies are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games. Grizzlies are 4-10 ATS in the last 14 meetings in Atlanta. Hawks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and are 8-0 ATS in their last 8 vs. Western Conference. |
01-07-15 | New Orleans Pelicans -4 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 94-98 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 20 m | Show |
Pelicans – 4 The New Orleans Pelicans look to get back on track when they hit the road to face the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. The Pelicans continued their recent trend of following up a win with a loss after their 92-85 setback to the Washington Wizards on Monday. Charlotte has dropped 13 of its 16 games against Western Conference teams. Pelicans are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. NBA Southeast. Hornets are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Southwest. Pelicans are 16-4-1 ATS in the last 21 meetings and have won four of the last five road meetings with the Hornets. Back New Orleans on the highway. |
01-06-15 | Phoenix Suns -3.5 v. Milwaukee Bucks | Top | 102-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 29 m | Show |
Suns – 3.5 The Milwaukee Bucks gave a memorable performance while losing prized rookie Jabari Parker for the season when they met the Phoenix Suns last month. Milwaukee strives to post a second win over the Suns on Tuesday at a time when red-hot Phoenix has won eight of its last 10 games. The Suns were dominant from start to finish in posting a 125-109 win over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Milwaukee will be thin in the frontcourt with both Ersan Ilyasova (concussion) and Larry Sanders (personal reasons) sidelined, and swingman Jared Dudley and guard O.J. Mayo are both questionable with illnesses. Suns are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference. Suns are also 50-22-1 ATS in their last 73 games playing on 1 days rest and are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings in Milwaukee. Lay the points with the Suns. |
01-05-15 | Indiana Pacers v. Utah Jazz -2 | Top | 105-101 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 41 m | Show |
Jazz – 2 The Indiana Pacers continue to struggle and look to bounce back from a disappointing defeat when they visit the Utah Jazz on Monday. Indiana led most of the contest against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and finally succumbed 88-87 on Kobe Bryant’s decisive shot with 12.4 seconds remaining. The Pacers are playing the third contest of a four-game road trip, while Utah is playing well with six victories in its last nine games. Pacers are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games when their starting 5 players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day. Jazz are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 1 days rest. The Jazz get the home victory. |
01-05-15 | Houston Rockets v. Chicago Bulls -3 | Top | 105-114 | Win | 100 | 9 h 40 m | Show |
Bulls – 3 Houston has been on both sides of blowouts in its last two games, losing by 28 points at New Orleans on Friday before bouncing back the following night for a 36-point trouncing of the Miami Heat. The Bulls are playing the fourth contest of a five-game homestand and are hopeful leading scorer Jimmy Butler (bereavement leave) will be back after missing Saturday’s overtime victory over the Boston Celtics. Rockets are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games playing on 1 days rest and are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Bulls are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. lay the small number here with the Bulls. |
01-03-15 | Memphis Grizzlies +1 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 85-114 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 12 m | Show |
Grizzlies + 1 The Memphis Grizzlies are enjoying a franchise-best 24-8 start and look to add another win to the ledger when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Saturday. Memphis has fed on Western Conference opponents and improved to 16-4 against such clubs by posting a 109-106 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Denver has lost three consecutive games with the first two coming at home to drop its mark to 9-8 at the Pepsi Center. The Nuggets have struggled on defense of late, allowing more than 100 in six straight games and giving up an average of 107.8 points during the stretch. The Grizzlies are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Nuggets are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 vs. Western Conference and are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. I’m backing Memphis on the road here. |
01-02-15 | Atlanta Hawks -4 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 98-92 | Win | 100 | 10 h 37 m | Show |
Hawks – 4 Paul Millsap and Kyle Korver did well in their return to Utah last March and they’ll look to repeat that performance when the Atlanta Hawks visit the Utah Jazz on Friday. Millsap was even better when these teams met in Atlanta in November, producing 30 points and 17 rebounds. Utah did suffer a significant blow this week when Alec Burks was ruled out for the rest of the season because of a shoulder injury that required surgery. Atlanta has won seven of its last eight and 16 of 18 to move into second in the East behind the Toronto Raptors. Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games and are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. Jazz are 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Atlanta stays hot here on the road. |
01-02-15 | Dallas Mavericks -6 v. Boston Celtics | Top | 119-101 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
Mavs – 6 Rajon Rondo enjoyed eight-plus seasons with the Boston Celtics, playing in four All-Star games and winning two assists crowns and one NBA title. On Friday, Rondo returns to the city that traded him two weeks ago when the Dallas Mavericks visit Boston. He and the Mavericks are coming off their most impressive win since acquiring the mercurial point guard, a 114-87 thrashing of the Washington Wizards. Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Eastern Conference and are 59-26 ATS in their last 85 road games. Mavericks are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Boston. Celtics are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The Mavs are the play. |
12-31-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Oklahoma City Thunder -7.5 | Top | 134-137 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 41 m | Show |
Thunder – 7.5 The Thunder are 3-3 since Kevin Durant went down with a sprained ankle, but received some good news as the All-Star small forward practiced with the team for the first time in almost two weeks and will play tonight. Suns are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss. Suns are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Oklahoma City. Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games overall. The Thunder have won 12 of the last 14 meetings with the Suns and I like them to cover this one. |
12-30-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Atlanta Hawks -3 | Top | 101-109 | Win | 100 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Hawks – 3 The Atlanta Hawks don't boast the star power of the Cleveland Cavaliers, but they have a big cushion in the Eastern Conference standings. The Hawks aim to add to that lead when they host the Cavaliers on Tuesday. The first two meetings this season - both in Cleveland - have been lopsided affairs with the Cavaliers trouncing the Hawks 127-94 on Nov. 15 and Atlanta repaying them with a 127-98 victory Dec. 17. The Hawks, who are 13-3 at home this season, have won three straight meetings in Atlanta dating to Nov. 30, 2012. Atlanta has won 15 of its last 17 games including eight of nine at home, and it’s doing so without a bona fide star. All five starters average double-digit scoring with point guard Jeff Teague (16.6 points, 6.9 assists) and big men Paul Millsap (16.5 points, 8.1 rebounds) and Al Horford (14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds) leading the way. The balance is borne from an unselfish approach at the offensive end, as Atlanta ranks second in the league with 25.7 assists and has recorded assists on an NBA-best 68.2 percent of its field goals. Atlanta is 16-1 when holding opponents under 100 points, including a 10-0 mark at home. The Hawks are the play at home. |

12-30-14 | Detroit Pistons v. Orlando Magic +1.5 | Top | 109-86 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 25 m | Show |
Magic + 1 ½ Detroit has been a bad basketball team but it sure did look pretty good while delivering a beating on LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday. That game aside they are still a bad team. The Magic have won back-to-back games, including a 102-101 win over the Miami Heat on Monday as center Nikola Vucevic scored 26 points and guard Victor Oladipo scored 22. Orlando won the first meeting 107-93 on Nov. 17 with Vucevic contributing 25 points and 14 rebounds. This line is short to me and I’m backing the Magic. |
12-29-14 | Chicago Bulls -5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 92-90 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 9 m | Show |
Bulls – 5 The Chicago Bulls are winners of six straight games and are asserting themselves as one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. Chicago can win by dominating in the frontcourt with Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson or by turning things over to Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose in the backcourt. The Pacers shot 50 percent or better from the field in each of the last four games after failing to hit the mark in any of their first 27 contests. They will have a hard time doing that vs. this Bulls defense. The Bulls are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Pacers are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Bulls are an outstanding 13-4 on the road this season and should have little problems with the Pacers tonight. Lay the points. |
12-28-14 | Houston Rockets +1 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 106-110 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 49 m | Show |
Rockets + 1 The Houston Rockets are loading up for a run at their first NBA title in 20 years, and the next stop on their journey is a trip to take on the defending champion San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The Rockets aim for their third straight win over a Western Conference contender after knocking off Portland and Memphis in their past two games. The scuffling Spurs have dropped two straight and six of seven after a 97-90 loss at New Orleans on Friday. The reinforced Rockets got 21 points and eight rebounds from newly-acquired forward Josh Smith in his Houston debut Friday, as he put up a team-high 21 shots in 32 minutes off the bench in a 117-111 overtime win over the Grizzlies. San Antonio will have its hands full guarding Harden with defensive whiz Kawhi Leonard sidelined with a hand injury and point guard Tony Parker nursing a sore hamstring. Those two also are among the team's top three scorers, putting the load on veterans Tim Duncan (16.1 points, 10.8 rebounds) and Manu Ginobili (12.8 points, 5.2 assists) while they are out. This one is close but the Rockets come away with the road victory. |
12-27-14 | New Orleans Pelicans +9.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 100-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
Pelicans + 9 ½ This line is out of wack to me. While the Bulls are clearly the favorite, this line to just too high. New Orleans has covered 4 of last 5 against the Bulls, including winning SU last 2 in Chicago. Pelicans beat San Antonio yesterday, and are 7-0 vs. the points in 2nd of back-to-back games. New Orleans hangs tight in this one so take the points. |
12-26-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. New Orleans Pelicans -3.5 | Top | 90-97 | Win | 100 | 6 h 14 m | Show |
Pelicans – 3 1/2 The New Orleans Pelicans posted one of the biggest upsets of the early season when they beat the San Antonio Spurs last month and they’ll try for a repeat performance when they host the Spurs on Friday night. New Orleans forward Anthony Davis made a game-winning layup with 6.6 seconds left in the 100-99 victory Nov. 8, and he’s been hot lately, hitting the 30-point mark in three of the last five games. The Spurs are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 vs. NBA Southwest and are 1-6 ATS in the last 7 meetings in New Orleans. The Pelicans are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game. Look for the Spurs to be a little tiered tonight after that Christmas Day loss to OKC. |
12-26-14 | Houston Rockets v. Memphis Grizzlies -2 | Top | 117-111 | Loss | -107 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
Memphis – 2 Coming off arguably the best performance of his career, James Harden returns to the site where he had his worst outing of the season when the Houston Rockets visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Harden had 44 points, seven assists and five steals, reaching those gaudy numbers for the second time in his career, in Monday's 110-95 rout of Portland. However, he'll have his sights set on Memphis, which held the bearded lefthander to a season-low six points on 1-of-8 shooting in a rout Nov. 17. Memphis should be fully focused here are having lost its last three. The Grizzlies played the Warriors, Spurs, Bulls and Cavs in a six-day span and wound up losing to lowly Utah following that road trip. After getting the last three days off I expect a strong performance from Memphis here. The Grizzlies are 7-1 SU and ATS in its last eight home meetings with the Rockets. |
12-25-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. San Antonio Spurs -5 | Top | 114-106 | Loss | -102 | 18 h 21 m | Show |
Spurs – 5 The San Antonio Spurs are trying to stay afloat in the loaded Western Conference without one of their best defensive players, but they might catch a break and miss one of the league's top offensive stars on Christmas Day. The Spurs host an Oklahoma City team that is likely to be without reigning MVP Kevin Durant on Thursday. The Thunder have lost three of four as they scramble to keep up in the West during an injury-plagued season. San Antonio turned in one of its most impressive offensive showings of the season against the Clippers, shooting a blistering 63.6 percent and dishing out a season-high 37 assists. Thunder are 4-13-1 ATS in their last 18 road games and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. The favorite is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and home team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. Spurs get the win and cover. |
12-25-14 | Washington Wizards -5 v. New York Knicks | Top | 102-91 | Win | 100 | 16 h 50 m | Show |
Wizards – 5 The Washington Wizards’ meeting with the New York Knicks on Thursday was intended to be a matchup of Eastern Conference contenders when the NBA selected the game to begin its annual Christmas Day showcase. Unfortunately, only one of the teams kept up its end of the bargain. The Wizards are off to one of the best starts in franchise history, but the host Knicks are on a five-game skid and have the most losses in the league. Wizards are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Knicks are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 home games. We’ll back the much better team with Washington on the road. |
12-23-14 | Dallas Mavericks +1.5 v. Phoenix Suns | Top | 115-124 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 23 m | Show |
Mavs + 1 1/2 Rajon Rondo’s second game with Dallas was a losing proposition and the Mavericks will attempt to get back on the winning side of the ledger when they visit the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. Phoenix just completed a 3-0 road trip and will try to turn around its shady home play as it is just 6-7 in front of the friendly fans. Mavericks are 48-17 ATS in their last 65 games following a S.U. loss and are 59-25 ATS in their last 84 road games. Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Phoenix defeated Dallas 118-106 on Dec. 5 for only its fifth win in the last 21 meetings. Look for the Mavs to get pay-back tonight. |
12-23-14 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Atlanta Hawks -1.5 | Top | 104-107 | Win | 100 | 7 h 52 m | Show |
Hawks – 1 ½ The Atlanta Hawks are making a statement about the supposed Western Conference superiority, and they'll get a chance to back it up when they host the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday. The Hawks improved to 5-2 against the West with a 105-102 win at Dallas on Monday, their fourth straight win and 13th in 14 games. The Clippers have lost five straight road games in the series dating to 2009. Los Angeles dropped its fourth straight overall on the road with a 125-118 loss at San Antonio, falling to 8-6 away from home. The Clippers can't expect to change their fortunes in Atlanta unless they tighten up their defense. Clippers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings. Hawks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 12-2 at home this season. |
12-23-14 | Chicago Bulls v. Washington Wizards -2.5 | Top | 99-91 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Wizards – 2 1/2 The Washington Wizards look to get back on track when they host the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday. The Wizards had rattled off six wins in a row and needed one more victory for their best start in franchise history, but dropped a surprising 104-92 decision to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. Washington hopes to rebound quickly by beating the Bulls for the fourth time in five tries at the Verizon Center. The Bulls are off an explosive win last night over the Raptors and will be a little sluggish tonight. Washington has won eight of its last nine home games and they get the win and cover over the Bulls. |
12-23-14 | Boston Celtics v. Orlando Magic -2 | Top | 95-100 | Win | 100 | 6 h 21 m | Show |
Magic – 2 Things did not go particularly well for the Boston Celtics in their first game after trading Rajon Rondo. The rebuilding Celtics will look for an improved effort out of their three newcomers when they visit the Orlando Magic on Tuesday. Three days after trading Rondo to Dallas, Boston shot 39.8 percent and set a season low for points scored in Sunday's 100-84 setback at Miami. Magic are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Home team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Orlando gets the close win at home. |
12-22-14 | Atlanta Hawks +4.5 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 105-102 | Win | 100 | 9 h 50 m | Show |
Hawks + 4 ½ The Dallas Mavericks were victorious in Rajon Rondo’s debut and look for another strong performance when they host the red-hot Atlanta Hawks on Monday. Rondo was acquired from the Boston Celtics last Thursday and he fit in well in his first game with his new team as Dallas defeated the San Antonio Spurs 99-93. Atlanta defeated the Houston Rockets 104-97 on Saturday to record its 12th win in 13 games. Hawks PG Jeff Teague (hamstring) has missed two straight games and is questionable to probable for Monday. Hawks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 1 days rest. Mavericks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games. |
12-21-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Washington Wizards -6 | Top | 104-92 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 40 m | Show |
Wizards – 6 The Washington Wizards look to continue their winning ways when they host the Phoenix Suns on Sunday. The Wizards have emerged victorious in 10 of their last 11 games - including six straight after their 105-103 triumph over the Miami Heat on Friday. Washington is 13-2 at the Verizon Center and hopes to extend its home winning streak to nine games by beating the Suns for the fourth time in its last five tries. The Suns are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest. Wizards are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 games playing on 1 days rest and are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference. Lay the points with Washington. |
12-20-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Denver Nuggets -3.5 | Top | 73-76 | Loss | -107 | 8 h 13 m | Show |
Nuggets – 3 1/2 The Denver Nuggets attempt to continue their long-standing series dominance of Indiana when they host the struggling Pacers on Saturday. Denver routed Indiana 108-87 in Indianapolis on Nov. 14 and has won 16 of the past 20 meetings. Both teams played the Los Angeles Clippers in their most-recent game, with the Pacers losing 102-100 on the road Wednesday and the Nuggets prevailing 109-106 at home Friday. Indiana has lost seven consecutive road games and has lost five straight visits to Denver. The Nuggets are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 vs. Eastern Conference. Take Denver laying this short number. |
12-19-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -4 v. Denver Nuggets | Top | 106-109 | Loss | -101 | 7 h 28 m | Show |
Clippers – 4 The Los Angeles Clippers are doing a lot more winning than losing lately and they’ll try to continue that trend Friday at the Denver Nuggets. The Clippers have won 11 of 13 after a ho-hum 5-4 start and are playing the fourth of five straight games and 11 of 12 against teams that began Thursday at .500 or below. The Nuggets have lost three straight and seven of eight, putting them on the verge of falling six games under .500 for the first time this season. The Clippers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss. The Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. We’re backing the Clippers here on the road. |
12-18-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Golden State Warriors UNDER 211 | Top | 109-114 | Loss | -104 | 10 h 4 m | Show |
Thunder at Warriors Under 211 Oklahoma City was one of the victims on Golden State’s streak, but that 91-86 loss on Nov. 23 came without Durant and Westbrook around. Oklahoma City has allowed an average of 92.4 points in its last 10 games and is 9-1 in that span. Golden State has been under the total in six out of 9 home games. The under is 14-3 in Thunder last 17 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and is 23-7 in the Thunder last 30 overall. The under is 8-2 in Warriors last 10 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game and is 6-0 in Warriors last 6 home games. I see real value on under the total here. |
12-17-14 | Houston Rockets v. Denver Nuggets +2 | Top | 115-111 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 40 m | Show |
Nuggets + 2 Denver’s Arron Afflalo bounced back from a disappointing display versus the Rockets by pouring in a season-high 31 points against the Spurs and has finished in double figures in five straight games. Danilo Gallinari (knee) could be back in the Denver lineup tonight. Dwight Howard is listed as questionable and may rest after coming back and playing on Saturday. The Rockets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win. The Rockets are 2-9 ATS in the last 11 meetings and are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Denver. The Nuggets are 15-5 ATS in their last 20 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 home games. |
12-17-14 | Atlanta Hawks +4.5 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 127-98 | Win | 100 | 6 h 10 m | Show |
Hawks + 4.5 The Atlanta Hawks surged up the Eastern Conference standings by taking advantage of weak competition, but now they're trying to keep up their hot streak against some of the league's elite teams. Atlanta has won 10 of its last 11 heading into a tough road test against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. The Cavaliers, who have won nine of their last 11, blew out the Hawks in the first meeting this season, a 127-94 rout Nov. 15 in Cleveland, so the Hawks will want revenge. Kevin Love is questionable for the Cavs and that will help the Hawks inside game. The Hawks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Cavaliers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days rest and are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. Take the points with Atlanta. |
12-16-14 | Golden State Warriors v. Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 | Top | 98-105 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
Grizzlies – 2.5 The Golden State Warriors survived a back-to-back on the road with their winning streak intact and are staring at their toughest test of the last month. The Warriors will attempt to push their franchise-record winning streak to 17 games when they visit the team closest to them in the Western Conference in the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are winners of four in a row. Memphis appears to be in the best position to knock off Golden State, which is playing the finale of a three-game road trip, and will again be without center Andrew Bogut (knee) and forward David Lee (hamstring). Grizzlies are 43-19-1 ATS in their last 63 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Warriors are 2-5 ATS in the last 7 meetings. This will be a great game to watch on ESPN and I’m back the Grizzlies at home. |
12-15-14 | Chicago Bulls v. Atlanta Hawks -2.5 | Top | 86-93 | Win | 100 | 6 h 27 m | Show |
Hawks – 2 1/2 Two surging Eastern Conference contenders clash when the Atlanta Hawks host the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The Hawks look to bounce back after having their nine-game winning streak snapped Saturday at Orlando, while the Bulls aim for their fourth straight win. The Hawks will be happy to be back home, where they are 11-2 and have won six straight. The Bulls won 93-75 at Miami on Sunday and maybe a little sluggish. The Bulls are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games following a S.U. win and are 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Hawks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest and are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss. |
12-15-14 | Chicago Bulls v. Atlanta Hawks UNDER 197 | Top | 86-93 | Win | 100 | 6 h 26 m | Show |
Bulls/Hawks Under 197 Atlanta mirrors Chicago in that the Hawks have a defense-first philosophy and have been playing well at home. The Under is 5-0 in Bulls last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and Under is 19-7 in Hawks last 26 games playing on 1 days rest. The Under is 7-2 in the last 9 meetings. |
12-15-14 | Los Angeles Lakers +5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 91-110 | Loss | -103 | 6 h 57 m | Show |
Lakers + 5 After a rare instance of being celebrated on the road, Kobe Bryant hopes to resume the role of enemy when the Los Angeles Lakers try to sweep a three-game road trip Monday against the Indiana Pacers. The Lakers look to extend their season-best three-game winning streak. The injury-riddled Pacers have dropped eight straight overall and are 2-9 against Western Conference teams. The Lakers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Pacers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall and are 9-23-1 ATS in their last 33 home games. The Road team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings. |
12-14-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Oklahoma City Thunder -6.5 | Top | 88-112 | Win | 100 | 7 h 54 m | Show |
Thunder – 6 ½ The Phoenix Suns hold the eighth and final playoff position in the loaded Western Conference, but the finally-healthy Oklahoma City Thunder are charging hard and can come within one-half game with a victory against the visiting Suns on Sunday. The club has won seven of eight to get themselves back in the playoff picture. Phoenix has started to sink, losing four straight and six of eight. Suns are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. Thunder are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games and are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 vs. Western Conference. The Thunder get this game by a good margin and cover the number. |
12-13-14 | Denver Nuggets v. Houston Rockets -7 | Top | 96-108 | Win | 100 | 7 h 29 m | Show |
Rockets – 7 The Houston Rockets are expected to have eight-time All Star center Dwight Howard back from a knee injury when they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. Howard played his last game for Houston on Nov. 17 and the Rockets went 8-3 without him after a 9-1 mark with Howard in the starting lineup. If Howard returns, he’ll be up against a Denver team that’s been thinned up front with injuries. Nobody’s scored more than James Harden the last two games as he’s combined for 78 points in those contests, though he needed 59 shots to get there. Take the Rockets in a blow-out. |
12-12-14 | Portland Trailblazers v. Chicago Bulls -2.5 | Top | 106-115 | Win | 100 | 4 h 59 m | Show |
Bulls – 2 1/2 Chicago center Joakim Noah is in jeopardy of missing his second straight game when the Bulls host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Noah is having issues with a knee and an ankle and he missed practice on Thursday with Coach Tom Thibodeau describing him as “day to day.” Portland is experiencing a different type of pain, the one stemming from losing 90-82 to the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. I look for Rose and Gasol to be able to run their offense tonight and get a big Friday Night Home Victory. |
12-11-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 | Top | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
Thunder – 2 ½ The Cleveland Cavaliers have overcome a slow start to surge to the top of the Central Division, and the now-healthy Oklahoma City Thunder hope to follow their lead. The Cavaliers put their eight-game winning streak on the line when they travel to Oklahoma City. The Thunder are aiming for their fourth straight win and their sixth in seven games. Oklahoma City is beginning to look like itself again with Durant (22 points, 5.5 rebounds, four assists) and Westbrook (24.3 points, 6.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds) back in the mix, and the Thunder put up a season-high for points in Tuesday's 114-101 win over Milwaukee. The Thunder have averaged 103.2 points on 46.7 percent shooting over their past six games. The Thunder are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Home team is 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings. OKC gets a big home win early in the season. |
12-10-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Chicago Bulls UNDER 194 | Top | 80-105 | Win | 100 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
Nets/Bulls Under 194 Brooklyn has lost nine of 13 games after being routed by the Cleveland. Center Brook Lopez (back) missed the game and is out for Wednesday’s contest, and shooting guard Joe Johnson sat out Monday with a stomach virus and will also miss tonight’s game. The Nets have topped 100 points just once in their last 12 games. The under is 6-0 in Nets last 6 road games and is 5-0 in Nets last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The under is also 7-1 in Nets last 8 overall. The under is 5-2 in Bulls last 7 vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. |
12-10-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -6.5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 103-96 | Win | 100 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
Clippers – 6 1/2 The Los Angeles Clippers seek to stretch their winning streak to nine games when they open a three-game road trip by visiting the Indiana Pacers. Los Angeles PG Chris Paul has recorded three straight double-doubles and four in the last five games. Indiana has suffered five straight losses and continues to struggle without star forward Paul George (broken leg). Center Roy Hibbert said the starting unit needs to take the blame for the recent slide as Indiana is too often digging itself out of an early hole. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. The Pacers are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Clippers grind-out the win and cover here. |
12-10-14 | Washington Wizards -4.5 v. Orlando Magic | Top | 91-89 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
Wizards – 4 ½ The Orlando Magic ended a grueling six-game road trip with two gutty victories and prepare to meet the top three teams in the Eastern Conference over the next four contests. Orlando faces the first of those major tests when the red-hot Washington Wizards pay a visit on Wednesday. Washington has won five of its last six overall and owns six consecutive victories against the Magic, including two this season. The Wizards John Wall is averaging 17.4 points and 14.4 assists in five December contests as Washington has scored 112.6 per game. Washington has all the edges here so lay the points with them on the road. |
12-09-14 | Miami Heat v. Phoenix Suns -4.5 | Top | 103-97 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Suns The Suns lost Monday night at the Los Angeles Clippers on a rim-rattling 3-pointer by Blake Griffin at the overtime buzzer. They had led by four with 34 seconds left in overtime when the game unraveled. The Heat also arrive at a bad time, having lost four straight while allowing those opponents to shoot 55.9 percent from the floor, including 53.4 from 3-point range. Chris Bosh is coming off his second-poorest performance of the season, scoring 12 points and collecting two rebounds in a 103-87 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Eric Bledsoe should be feeling good, emotionally anyway, after recording his first career triple-double against the Clippers. He also should be fired up to go against Wade as well after missing both games against the Heat last season with injuries. The Suns have lost two in a row for the fourth time this season but have yet to lose three straight. Lay the number with Phoenix. |
12-08-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Los Angeles Clippers -7.5 | Top | 120-121 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Clippers – 7.5 The Clippers have won seven in a row and climbed atop the league lead in field-goal percentage and 3-point field-goal percentage after shooting 52.9 and converting 14-of-29 from beyond the arc in Saturday’s 20-point win against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans. One reason Bledsoe and Dragic have likely struggled against the Clippers in recent games is they spend so much energy trying to stay in front of Chris Paul. The latter scored 32 points on 10-for-13 shooting and distributed nine assists when these teams met last month, and he’s been just as solid of late, shooting 14-for-23 the last two games with 26 assists and three turnovers. Lay the points with the Clippers. |
12-08-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Brooklyn Nets UNDER 200 | Top | 110-88 | Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
Cavs/Nets Under 200 The Cavaliers ran their current surge to six with an impressive 105-91 win at Toronto in the second half of a back-to-back set on Friday. After surviving an overtime affair with San Antonio on Wednesday in the opener of a three-game homestand, the Nets offered little resistance in a 98-75 loss to Atlanta two nights later. Brook Lopez scored 20 points and Joe Johnson had 12 but no other Brooklyn player reached double figures. The Nets have gone 11 straight games without reaching 100 points within regulation. The under is 8-2 in Cavaliers last 10 overall and is 5-1-1 in Cavaliers last 7 road games. The under is 10-1 in Nets last 11 overall and is 12-3 in Nets last 15 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. |
12-07-14 | Portland Trail Blazers -6 v. New York Knicks | Top | 103-99 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
Portland – 6 Portland has won 12 of its last 13 games and has won all eight contests against Eastern Conference foes as it begins a five-game road swing. New York has lost seven straight games after falling to Charlotte on Friday, a contest the Knicks trailed by 20 late in the third quarter and rallied to take the lead before Hornets guard Kemba Walker made the winning shot as time expired. Trail Blazers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Eastern Conference. Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Knicks are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games. I look for Portland to get the easy win and cover. |
12-07-14 | Miami Heat v. Memphis Grizzlies -7.5 | Top | 87-103 | Win | 100 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
Grizzlies – 7.5 The Memphis Grizzlies lost at home for the first time in 10 months and will look to start a new streak when the Miami Heat visit on Sunday. The Grizzlies’ 22-game run of home wins was halted 107-101 by the San Antonio Spurs on Friday and a struggling Miami squad attempts to make it back-to-back home losses for Memphis. Miami has lost three straight contests and was routed 109-85 by Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. The Heat are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 vs. Western Conference and are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest. The Heat are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Memphis. Grizzlies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days’ rest. Lay the points with Memphis. |
12-05-14 | Atlanta Hawks -1.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 98-75 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Hawks – 1.5 The Brooklyn Nets made a statement by holding off defending champion San Antonio on Wednesday and are enjoying a bit of a turnaround with three wins in the last four games. The Nets will try to make it four of five and three in a row when they host the surging Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The Hawks picked up their fourth straight win with a 112-102 road victory at Miami on Wednesday and have taken six of seven to climb up the standings in the Eastern Conference. The road team has taken four of the last five in the series. With the Hawks shooting the ball very well as of late I like them to grab the tough road win. |
12-04-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers -7 v. New York Knicks | Top | 90-87 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Cavs – 7 Cleveland may have turned around its season at home and now will try to maintain its momentum on the road with a visit to the slumping New York Knicks on Thursday. The Cavaliers, who began their season with a 95-90 loss to New York at home, took the final four games of a five-game home stand. Cleveland's trio of stars - LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving - combined for 81 points in a 111-108 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday and actually boast the East's 2nd best point differential. The Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Knicks are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Cavs get the solid road victory here and cover the number. |
12-03-14 | Atlanta Hawks +4.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 112-102 | Win | 100 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
Hawks + The Atlanta Hawks hope to carry the momentum from a huge second-half comeback on the road when they travel to Miami for a matchup with the Heat on Wednesday. The Hawks rallied from a 23-point deficit to stun visiting Boston 109-105, their third straight win and their fifth in six games. The Heat look to bounce back from an embarrassing 107-86 loss at Washington on Monday. All five starters average double-digit scoring for the Hawks who can score inside and outside. Atlanta has scored at least 90 points in every game, its longest streak to start a season since doing so in the first 34 contests in 1989-90. The Hawks are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Southeast and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Heat are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and I’ll back them plus the points tonight getting great value. |
12-02-14 | Dallas Mavericks +1.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 132-129 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
Mavericks + 1.5 The Chicago Bulls get a brief respite from the road, but it comes against a Western Conference contender when the Dallas Mavericks visit Tuesday. The Bulls wrapped up a 4-3 road trip with a victory at Brooklyn on Sunday, but all three losses on the swing came against Western Conference foes. The Bulls head back on the road tomorrow. The Mavericks have won three straight — all against teams from the East — and nine of their last 11. The Bulls are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games. The Mavericks are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. This is a good spot to go against the Bulls so I’m on the Mavs. |
12-02-14 | Boston Celtics v. Atlanta Hawks -7 | Top | 105-109 | Loss | -101 | 8 h 44 m | Show |
Hawks – 7 The Atlanta Hawks aim for their third straight victory when they host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. Atlanta, which is 7-2 at home, has won four of five and is coming off a 105-75 drubbing of Charlotte on Saturday. The Celtics have dropped four straight and seven of eight after a 111-89 home loss to San Antonio on Sunday in which they were outscored 66-40 in the second half. The Hawks have been impressive at the offensive end lately, averaging 106.7 points on 51.5 percent shooting over the past three games. Boston has been one of the worst defensive teams in the league. The Celtics are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. Hawks get the win and cover. |
12-01-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Philadelphia 76ers UNDER 198 | Top | 109-103 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Spurs at 76ers UNDER 198 San Antonio has beaten the 76ers seven straight times and has held them under 100 points in each of their last nine meetings. After the Spurs nice win in Boston last night I don’t see a full effort on their part tonight vs. the lowly 76ers. The under is 8-1 in Spurs last 9 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and the under is 11-3 in Spurs last 14 games playing on 0 days’ rest. The under is 5-0 in 76ers last 5 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings. |
11-30-14 | Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 97-85 | Win | 100 | 5 h 35 m | Show |
Memphis The Kings yielded season highs of 112 points and 51.2 percent shooting in Friday's eight-point loss in San Antonio, but star center DeMarcus Cousins was a scratch with a 102-degree temperature. If he plays today he will not be 100%. Memphis won its fourth straight game in Friday's 112-99 win at Portland to improve to an NBA-best 14-2. The Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. |
11-29-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -5 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 112-96 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Clippers – 5 The Los Angeles Clippers look for their 11th consecutive victory over Utah when they visit the Jazz on Saturday. The home floor has been anything but an advantage for Utah as Los Angeles has won in each of its last five visits to Salt Lake City. The Clippers are 5-1 on a seven-game road trip after posting a 102-85 victory over the Rockets on Friday. The Jazz are just 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Lay the points with the Clippers. |
11-28-14 | New York Knicks v. Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5 | Top | 78-105 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
Thunder – 8.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder are hoping to have point guard Russell Westbrook on the court when they host the New York Knicks on Friday. The status of New York star Carmelo Anthony is also in doubt after he missed Wednesday’s overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks with back spasms. Every indication is he will not play tonight. Oklahoma City has won five of the past six meetings and I see them coming up with a big effort for the home fans tonight. |
11-26-14 | Milwaukee Bucks -1 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 103-86 | Win | 100 | 7 h 51 m | Show |
Bucks – 1 Milwaukee has put forth a positive start this season on the strength of solid defense and offensive balance, with loads of contributions coming from the bench. Bucks G Brandon Knight has scored in double figures in 15 straight games. Minnesota still has some key players injured and is a very young team. The Bucks grab the road win. |
11-26-14 | Toronto Raptors v. Atlanta Hawks +3.5 | Top | 126-115 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Hawks + 3.5 The Hawks held off Washington, which owns the second-best record in the East, for a 106-102 win Tuesday. Next up is a visit from the Raptors, who are tied for the NBA's best mark. The Raptors have erased double-digit deficits to win their last two road games but will have problems with the Hawks on their home floor. The Hawks have won six of eight and are 5-1 at home. I see a little letdown spot here for Toronto on the road. Take the Hawks plus the points. |
11-25-14 | Detroit Pistons v. Milwaukee Bucks -3 | Top | 86-98 | Win | 100 | 6 h 25 m | Show |
Bucks – 3 Detroit has lost four in a row, the latest a 99-89 setback in Atlanta on Friday in which the Pistons shot 37.3 percent from the floor to drop their season average to 41 percent, 29th in the NBA. The Bucks won five out of six following a loss at Detroit on Nov. 7 but have dropped two consecutive decisions, including a 111-100 setback against Washington on Saturday. Brandon Knight scored 27 points in the loss, which left Milwaukee with a 4-2 mark at home. Look for the Bucks to bounce back tonight at home. |
11-25-14 | Atlanta Hawks v. Washington Wizards OVER 200 | Top | 106-102 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show |
Atl/Was Over 200 The over is 6-1 in Hawks last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest and the over is 4-1 in Hawks last 5 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. The over is 16-6 in Wizards last 22 games following a SU win of more than 10 points and the over is 5-1 in Wizards last 6 games following an ATS win. Look for an up and down game as the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. |
11-24-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -4.5 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 113-92 | Win | 100 | 4 h 60 m | Show |
Clippers After winning the first two games on the trip over Eastern Conference foes, the Clippers were pasted 107-91 at Memphis on Sunday. They have a chance to rebound with their next two games against teams near the bottom of the standings in the East in Charlotte and Detroit and they will take advantage. Los Angeles has won 32 consecutive games when shooting 50 percent or better from the floor, the second-longest active streak in the league. Look for them to have a good shooting night here vs. the Hornets. |
11-22-14 | Dallas Mavericks -3 v. Houston Rockets | Top | 92-95 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Mavs – 3 The Mavericks put up 140 points in a win over the Lakers last night, will play the second night of a back-to-back when they visit the Rockets. Houston is not so hot offensively at the moment with Dwight Howard and Terrence Jones ailing and has dropped two straight and four in a row vs. the spread. The Mavs are 12-3 SU last 15 against the Rockets. Dallas is the play. |
11-21-14 | Milwaukee Bucks +9 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 83-124 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
Bucks + 9 The much-improved Bucks have won three straight and persevered Wednesday behind a career-high 23 points from rookie Jabari Parker on a night when former Nets star player and coach Jason Kidd was soundly booed in his return to Brooklyn. The Raptors are off to the best start in franchise history and have the best record in the Eastern Conference but have problems covering big spread. While the Bucks maybe a little spent they are a young team and will hang in this game tonight. |
11-19-14 | San Antonio Spurs +2 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 92-90 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
LeBron James gets a shot at the team that ended his tenure in Miami on a sour note when he and the Cleveland Cavaliers host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday on ESPN. Each team has won four of its last five after starting the season slowly. The Cavs suffered a puzzling 106-97 loss to visiting Denver on Monday, snapping a four-game winning streak., The Cavs are still trying to pull it all together as a team and I think it’s still going to take more time. As for the Spurs their stars got a bit of a break Monday, as only one starter played more than 20 minutes in a 100-75 win over winless Philadelphia. At this early point of the season the Spurs are the better team and I’ll back them here on the road. |
11-18-14 | New York Knicks v. Milwaukee Bucks -1.5 | Top | 113-117 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
New York has won eight of the last nine games against Milwaukee but will be facing a different Bucks team that has won three of four after a 91-84 win at Miami on Sunday. Milwaukee dominated the defending Eastern Conference champs in the second half, riding three late 3-pointers by Brandon Knight to a victory that brought Jason Kidd's team back to .500 at 5-5. The Bucks did not pick up their fifth win until their 21st game last season. This is an improved Bucks team and I like them to control this game vs. NY, The Knicks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest. The Bucks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. |
11-17-14 | Phoenix Suns -1.5 v. Boston Celtics | Top | 118-114 | Win | 100 | 7 h 56 m | Show |
Phoenix likes to play at a fast pace and capitalize in transition, averaging 17.3 fast-break points - the second-most in the league. A strong second unit allows the Suns to push the pace, as reserves Isaiah Thomas (16.7 points) and Gerald Green (14.6 points) are among the team's top three scorers along with guard Goran Dragic (15 points). In fact, Phoenix's leading scorer has come from the bench in all five of its victories. Celtics rookie G Marcus Smart (ankle) will miss his fourth straight game and C Vitor Faverini (knee) remains sidelined. The Celtics are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 vs. Western Conference. The Suns are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Atlantic. |
11-12-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Phoenix Suns -5.5 | Top | 104-112 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Suns – 5.5 The Phoenix Suns are trying out a three-point guard approach and Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas have each had their moments. The Suns ended Golden State’s undefeated run 107-95 back on Sunday. Phoenix built more depth into the roster with the addition of Thomas, and his combination with fellow reserve Gerald Green is what pushed the Suns over the top on Sunday. While the Nets have controlled this series, I’m looking for the Suns to get some revenge with a home victory and cover. |
11-11-14 | Los Angeles Lakers v. Memphis Grizzlies -9.5 | Top | 102-107 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 29 m | Show |
11-07-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Boston Celtics -4 | Top | 98-101 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
#508 7:30pm Celtics – 4 Teams in desperate need of a win meet Friday when the Indiana Pacers visit the Boston Celtics. The undermanned Pacers who started last season 11-0, won their opener against Philadelphia but have dropped four straight since. The Celtics tore apart Brooklyn in their opener, and were blown off the floor in the first half at Houston and Dallas before a late turnover by rookie Marcus Smart led to a 110-107 loss to Toronto on Wednesday. Indiana still plays solid defense but ranks 27th with 18.4 turnovers per game and has very few options on offense. Rajon Rondo recorded his 30th career triple-double with 13 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds, and Jared Sullinger added season highs of 19 points and 16 rebounds in Wednesdays loss. Boston has more firepower and behind the home Friday night crowd they get the win and cover. |
11-06-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Houston Rockets -4 | Top | 81-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
Rockets – 4 The Houston Rockets aim to add to their best start in 18 years when they host the defending champion San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Rockets are 5-0 for the first time since 1996-97, and they've done it in convincing fashion, outscoring opponents by 71 points and winning each game by double digits. Houston has won five straight against San Antonio, which blew a 17-point lead before pulling out a 94-92 home win over Atlanta on Wednesday. The Rockets are rested and the Spurs are off last night’s game. I’ll lay the small number here with the home team. |
11-04-14 | Washington Wizards +1.5 v. New York Knicks | Top | 98-83 | Win | 100 | 22 h 50 m | Show |
Wizards + 1.5 The Knicks have a couple of nice wins but I still see problems with their offense. Washington won and covered all three games last season and may just be a better team this year. Anthony was held to 21.7 points against Washington last season, his lowest average versus an Eastern Conference opponent, and had nine turnovers in the most recent encounter April 4. The Wizards are the more balanced team and have an edge in the front court. Back the road team with Washington. |
10-31-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Chicago Bulls -3.5 | Top | 114-108 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 58 m | Show |
# 704 8pm Bulls – 3.5 The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls are the two popular picks to battle each other for Eastern Conference supremacy. Both teams will get an early look at how they stack up against one another when Derrick Rose and the Bulls host LeBron James and the Cavaliers on ESPN tonight. Chicago dominated the New York Knicks on the road in their opener on Wednesday while Cleveland showed it still has some work to do in its first game last night vs. the same Knicks. Chicago’s bench put up 55 points on 21-of-34 shooting on Wednesday. James was held to 18.3 points on 39.2 percent shooting in three games against the Bulls last season. I’m laying the points with the Bulls at home to make a early statement. |
10-29-14 | Chicago Bulls -4 v. New York Knicks | Top | 104-80 | Win | 100 | 21 h 16 m | Show |
Bulls The Chicago Bulls are the popular preseason pick to challenge LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference – as long as Derrick Rose manages to stay healthy and productive. The New York Knicks, who host the Bulls in the season opener for both teams on Wednesday, are hoping to improve on a bad season from a year ago. Rose made it through the summer healthy and will start at the point against the Knicks. The 2010-11 MVP showed off his old explosiveness over the summer and continued to impress during the preseason as the Bulls worked Gasol and rookie Doug McDermott into the offense. I’ll lay the points with the Bulls to open the season. |
06-12-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Miami Heat -5 | Top | 107-86 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
# 708 9pm Heat – 5 The San Antonio Spurs are coming off an epic performance and look to claim a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals when they visit the Miami Heat on Thursday. San Antonio set an NBA Finals record by shooting 75.8 percent from the field in the first half and led by as many as 25 points while rolling to a 111-92 victory in Tuesday’s Game 3. Miami committed 20 turnovers in Game 3 – James made seven of the miscues – while G Danny Green had five of San Antonio’s 12 steals. Look for Miami to correct that problem and also play much better defense tonight. The Spurs are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Heat are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Heat have won 13 consecutive playoff games following a loss. |
06-10-14 | San Antonio Spurs +5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 111-92 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
# 705 9pm Spurs + 5 LeBron James avoided cramping issues in Game 2 and he looks to help Miami take the series lead when the Heat host the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. San Antonio played a lackluster fourth quarter in Sunday’s 98-96 loss and a tipping point was when point guard Tony Parker and power forward Tim Duncan each missed two free throws in a nine-second span with the Spurs leading by two points. San Antonio closed Game 1 with an impressive 31-9 burst but lacked the finishing touches in Game 2 when it went 6-of-17 shooting in the final quarter. I don’t expect the Spurs to miss key free throws or have a bad shooting 4th quarter again. Take the points in what will be a tight game. |
06-08-14 | Miami Heat +4.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 98-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 31 m | Show |
# 703 8pm Heat + 4.5 The air-conditioning system in San Antonio has been fixed and LeBron James attempts to move past a dreadful fourth-quarter experience as the Miami Heat seek to bounce back from a Game 1 loss when they visit the Spurs in Sunday’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Heat were in position to win game 1 before James was on and off the beach in the last 7 minutes. Miami is 5-0 in game 2 in series with James when losing the opening game, rebounding to win every game. This one will be close in the 4th quarter and I’m backing the Heat plus the points. |
06-05-14 | Miami Heat v. San Antonio Spurs -4.5 | Top | 95-110 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show |
# 702 9pm Spurs – 4.5 The San Antonio Spurs wish to atone for last season’s collapse against the Miami Heat when the highly anticipated rematch in the NBA Finals begins on Thursday in San Antonio. Spurs point guard Tony Parker is expected to play in the opener despite further injuring an ankle in the series finale against Oklahoma City on Saturday. The teams split two regular-season meetings, each winning by double digits at home. Here in game 1 I am backing the Spurs at home. |
05-31-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5 | Top | 112-107 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 24 m | Show |
# 524 8:30pm Thunder – 3.5 The San Antonio Spurs are one victory away from returning to the NBA Finals but have a dubious streak to overcome if they are to end the Western Conference finals on Saturday. San Antonio owns a 3-2 lead in the series as it returns to Oklahoma City, where the Spurs have lost nine consecutive games dating back to March 16, 2012. The Thunder easily won Games 3 and 4 at home and look to force a Game 7 in San Antonio and I feel they will. The Spurs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Home team is 16-5-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings. |
05-29-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder +5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 89-117 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
# 519 9pm Thunder + 5 Oklahoma City got Serge Ibaka back and suddenly won consecutive games to get back into the Western Conference finals. Now the Thunder look to see if they can keep the momentum going when they visit the San Antonio Spurs in Thursday’s Game 5. San Antonio crushed Oklahoma City by an average of 26 points in the opening two games on its home floor before Ibaka returned from a calf injury and the Thunder turned the tide. Durant may be the league MVP but running mate Russell Westbrook was easily the best player on the floor in Game 4. Westbrook had 40 points – three shy of his postseason high set against Miami in the 2012 NBA Finals – to go with 10 assists and five steals in a scintillating performance. Westbrook played 45 minutes and committed just three turnovers – the Thunder had seven as a team – and helped Oklahoma City to a 21-0 edge in fast-break points. While each game has been a rout so far in the series I see this one coming down to late in the 4th quarter. Take the points with OKC. |
05-28-14 | Miami Heat v. Indiana Pacers +2 | Top | 90-93 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
# 518 8:30pm Pacers + 2 The Miami Heat are on the verge of a fourth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals while the Indiana Pacers are one loss away from a long summer of figuring out what went wrong. The Heat will look to close out the Eastern Conference finals when they visit the Pacers for Game 5 on Wednesday. Indiana took Game 1 of the series but has dropped three straight and never looked like it had a chance as Miami cruised through Game 4 on Monday. The Pacers have never won a series in which they trailed 3-1 but are not giving up and my feeling is they will come to play with a big effort here at home. Miami G Ray Allen (hip) and F Chris Andersen (thigh) are both questionable for Game 5. Take the Pacers to extend the series back to Miami for game 6. |
05-27-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder OVER 206.5 | Top | 92-105 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
# 515/516 9pm Over 206.5 While the over came up just short on Sunday in game 3 I see this one playing out with both teams hitting more shots and free throws adding to the point total. The over is 15-5 in Spurs last 20 games following an ATS loss. The over is 7-3 in Spurs last 10 Conference Finals games. The over is 7-2 in Thunder last 9 games following an ATS win and over is 6-2 in Thunder last 8 games following a S.U. win. |
05-27-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 | Top | 92-105 | Win | 100 | 8 h 35 m | Show |
# 516 9pm Thunder - 2.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder received a lift from Serge Ibaka and will attempt to even the Western Conference when they host the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Tuesday. San Antonio won the first two games by an average of 26 points but Ibaka returned from a calf injury and his presence negated the Spurs’ inside advantage and helped the Thunder to a 106-97 win on Sunday. Tony Parker had a subpar Game 3 with just nine points on 4-of-13 shooting and expressed during Monday’s media availability session that he must perform significantly better. The veteran point guard also had the same number of assists as turnovers – four – after averaging 18 points, 8.5 assists and 2.5 turnovers in the first two games. Parker simply plays better at home. Ibaka was the missing link to a frontcourt that struggled without him in the first two games. Oklahoma City is 5-0 against the Spurs this season with Ibaka in the lineup and 0-2 when he isn’t. The Thunder are 15-3 ATS in their last 18 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. I see the Thunder getting the win and notching up the series at 2-2 tonight. |
