12-13-14 | Denver Nuggets v. Houston Rockets -7 | Top | 96-108 | Win | 100 | 7 h 29 m | Show |
Rockets – 7 The Houston Rockets are expected to have eight-time All Star center Dwight Howard back from a knee injury when they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night. Howard played his last game for Houston on Nov. 17 and the Rockets went 8-3 without him after a 9-1 mark with Howard in the starting lineup. If Howard returns, he’ll be up against a Denver team that’s been thinned up front with injuries. Nobody’s scored more than James Harden the last two games as he’s combined for 78 points in those contests, though he needed 59 shots to get there. Take the Rockets in a blow-out. |
|||||||
12-12-14 | Portland Trailblazers v. Chicago Bulls -2.5 | Top | 106-115 | Win | 100 | 4 h 59 m | Show |
Bulls – 2 1/2 Chicago center Joakim Noah is in jeopardy of missing his second straight game when the Bulls host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. Noah is having issues with a knee and an ankle and he missed practice on Thursday with Coach Tom Thibodeau describing him as “day to day.” Portland is experiencing a different type of pain, the one stemming from losing 90-82 to the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. I look for Rose and Gasol to be able to run their offense tonight and get a big Friday Night Home Victory. |
|||||||
12-11-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 | Top | 94-103 | Win | 100 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
Thunder – 2 ½ The Cleveland Cavaliers have overcome a slow start to surge to the top of the Central Division, and the now-healthy Oklahoma City Thunder hope to follow their lead. The Cavaliers put their eight-game winning streak on the line when they travel to Oklahoma City. The Thunder are aiming for their fourth straight win and their sixth in seven games. Oklahoma City is beginning to look like itself again with Durant (22 points, 5.5 rebounds, four assists) and Westbrook (24.3 points, 6.6 assists, 5.3 rebounds) back in the mix, and the Thunder put up a season-high for points in Tuesday's 114-101 win over Milwaukee. The Thunder have averaged 103.2 points on 46.7 percent shooting over their past six games. The Thunder are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Cavaliers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Home team is 12-5 ATS in the last 17 meetings. OKC gets a big home win early in the season. |
|||||||
12-10-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Chicago Bulls UNDER 194 | Top | 80-105 | Win | 100 | 6 h 4 m | Show |
Nets/Bulls Under 194 Brooklyn has lost nine of 13 games after being routed by the Cleveland. Center Brook Lopez (back) missed the game and is out for Wednesday’s contest, and shooting guard Joe Johnson sat out Monday with a stomach virus and will also miss tonight’s game. The Nets have topped 100 points just once in their last 12 games. The under is 6-0 in Nets last 6 road games and is 5-0 in Nets last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game. The under is also 7-1 in Nets last 8 overall. The under is 5-2 in Bulls last 7 vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings. |
|||||||
12-10-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -6.5 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 103-96 | Win | 100 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
Clippers – 6 1/2 The Los Angeles Clippers seek to stretch their winning streak to nine games when they open a three-game road trip by visiting the Indiana Pacers. Los Angeles PG Chris Paul has recorded three straight double-doubles and four in the last five games. Indiana has suffered five straight losses and continues to struggle without star forward Paul George (broken leg). Center Roy Hibbert said the starting unit needs to take the blame for the recent slide as Indiana is too often digging itself out of an early hole. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. The Pacers are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Clippers grind-out the win and cover here. |
|||||||
12-10-14 | Washington Wizards -4.5 v. Orlando Magic | Top | 91-89 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 4 m | Show |
Wizards – 4 ½ The Orlando Magic ended a grueling six-game road trip with two gutty victories and prepare to meet the top three teams in the Eastern Conference over the next four contests. Orlando faces the first of those major tests when the red-hot Washington Wizards pay a visit on Wednesday. Washington has won five of its last six overall and owns six consecutive victories against the Magic, including two this season. The Wizards John Wall is averaging 17.4 points and 14.4 assists in five December contests as Washington has scored 112.6 per game. Washington has all the edges here so lay the points with them on the road. |
|||||||
12-09-14 | Miami Heat v. Phoenix Suns -4.5 | Top | 103-97 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 57 m | Show |
Suns The Suns lost Monday night at the Los Angeles Clippers on a rim-rattling 3-pointer by Blake Griffin at the overtime buzzer. They had led by four with 34 seconds left in overtime when the game unraveled. The Heat also arrive at a bad time, having lost four straight while allowing those opponents to shoot 55.9 percent from the floor, including 53.4 from 3-point range. Chris Bosh is coming off his second-poorest performance of the season, scoring 12 points and collecting two rebounds in a 103-87 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. Eric Bledsoe should be feeling good, emotionally anyway, after recording his first career triple-double against the Clippers. He also should be fired up to go against Wade as well after missing both games against the Heat last season with injuries. The Suns have lost two in a row for the fourth time this season but have yet to lose three straight. Lay the number with Phoenix. |
|||||||
12-08-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Los Angeles Clippers -7.5 | Top | 120-121 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Clippers – 7.5 The Clippers have won seven in a row and climbed atop the league lead in field-goal percentage and 3-point field-goal percentage after shooting 52.9 and converting 14-of-29 from beyond the arc in Saturday’s 20-point win against the visiting New Orleans Pelicans. One reason Bledsoe and Dragic have likely struggled against the Clippers in recent games is they spend so much energy trying to stay in front of Chris Paul. The latter scored 32 points on 10-for-13 shooting and distributed nine assists when these teams met last month, and he’s been just as solid of late, shooting 14-for-23 the last two games with 26 assists and three turnovers. Lay the points with the Clippers. |
|||||||
12-08-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Brooklyn Nets UNDER 200 | Top | 110-88 | Win | 100 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
Cavs/Nets Under 200 The Cavaliers ran their current surge to six with an impressive 105-91 win at Toronto in the second half of a back-to-back set on Friday. After surviving an overtime affair with San Antonio on Wednesday in the opener of a three-game homestand, the Nets offered little resistance in a 98-75 loss to Atlanta two nights later. Brook Lopez scored 20 points and Joe Johnson had 12 but no other Brooklyn player reached double figures. The Nets have gone 11 straight games without reaching 100 points within regulation. The under is 8-2 in Cavaliers last 10 overall and is 5-1-1 in Cavaliers last 7 road games. The under is 10-1 in Nets last 11 overall and is 12-3 in Nets last 15 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. |
|||||||
12-07-14 | Portland Trail Blazers -6 v. New York Knicks | Top | 103-99 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 42 m | Show |
Portland – 6 Portland has won 12 of its last 13 games and has won all eight contests against Eastern Conference foes as it begins a five-game road swing. New York has lost seven straight games after falling to Charlotte on Friday, a contest the Knicks trailed by 20 late in the third quarter and rallied to take the lead before Hornets guard Kemba Walker made the winning shot as time expired. Trail Blazers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 vs. Eastern Conference. Trail Blazers are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Knicks are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games. I look for Portland to get the easy win and cover. |
|||||||
12-07-14 | Miami Heat v. Memphis Grizzlies -7.5 | Top | 87-103 | Win | 100 | 6 h 11 m | Show |
Grizzlies – 7.5 The Memphis Grizzlies lost at home for the first time in 10 months and will look to start a new streak when the Miami Heat visit on Sunday. The Grizzlies’ 22-game run of home wins was halted 107-101 by the San Antonio Spurs on Friday and a struggling Miami squad attempts to make it back-to-back home losses for Memphis. Miami has lost three straight contests and was routed 109-85 by Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. The Heat are 3-11 ATS in their last 14 vs. Western Conference and are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games playing on 1 days rest. The Heat are 1-5 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Memphis. Grizzlies are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 1 days’ rest. Lay the points with Memphis. |
|||||||
12-05-14 | Atlanta Hawks -1.5 v. Brooklyn Nets | Top | 98-75 | Win | 100 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Hawks – 1.5 The Brooklyn Nets made a statement by holding off defending champion San Antonio on Wednesday and are enjoying a bit of a turnaround with three wins in the last four games. The Nets will try to make it four of five and three in a row when they host the surging Atlanta Hawks on Friday. The Hawks picked up their fourth straight win with a 112-102 road victory at Miami on Wednesday and have taken six of seven to climb up the standings in the Eastern Conference. The road team has taken four of the last five in the series. With the Hawks shooting the ball very well as of late I like them to grab the tough road win. |
|||||||
12-04-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers -7 v. New York Knicks | Top | 90-87 | Loss | -104 | 9 h 46 m | Show |
Cavs – 7 Cleveland may have turned around its season at home and now will try to maintain its momentum on the road with a visit to the slumping New York Knicks on Thursday. The Cavaliers, who began their season with a 95-90 loss to New York at home, took the final four games of a five-game home stand. Cleveland's trio of stars - LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving - combined for 81 points in a 111-108 win over Milwaukee on Tuesday and actually boast the East's 2nd best point differential. The Cavaliers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Knicks are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Cavs get the solid road victory here and cover the number. |
|||||||
12-03-14 | Atlanta Hawks +4.5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 112-102 | Win | 100 | 5 h 21 m | Show |
Hawks + The Atlanta Hawks hope to carry the momentum from a huge second-half comeback on the road when they travel to Miami for a matchup with the Heat on Wednesday. The Hawks rallied from a 23-point deficit to stun visiting Boston 109-105, their third straight win and their fifth in six games. The Heat look to bounce back from an embarrassing 107-86 loss at Washington on Monday. All five starters average double-digit scoring for the Hawks who can score inside and outside. Atlanta has scored at least 90 points in every game, its longest streak to start a season since doing so in the first 34 contests in 1989-90. The Hawks are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. NBA Southeast and are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Heat are 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and I’ll back them plus the points tonight getting great value. |
|||||||
12-02-14 | Dallas Mavericks +1.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 132-129 | Win | 100 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
Mavericks + 1.5 The Chicago Bulls get a brief respite from the road, but it comes against a Western Conference contender when the Dallas Mavericks visit Tuesday. The Bulls wrapped up a 4-3 road trip with a victory at Brooklyn on Sunday, but all three losses on the swing came against Western Conference foes. The Bulls head back on the road tomorrow. The Mavericks have won three straight — all against teams from the East — and nine of their last 11. The Bulls are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 home games following a road trip of 7 or more days and are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 home games. The Mavericks are 13-4 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. This is a good spot to go against the Bulls so I’m on the Mavs. |
|||||||
12-02-14 | Boston Celtics v. Atlanta Hawks -7 | Top | 105-109 | Loss | -101 | 8 h 44 m | Show |
Hawks – 7 The Atlanta Hawks aim for their third straight victory when they host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. Atlanta, which is 7-2 at home, has won four of five and is coming off a 105-75 drubbing of Charlotte on Saturday. The Celtics have dropped four straight and seven of eight after a 111-89 home loss to San Antonio on Sunday in which they were outscored 66-40 in the second half. The Hawks have been impressive at the offensive end lately, averaging 106.7 points on 51.5 percent shooting over the past three games. Boston has been one of the worst defensive teams in the league. The Celtics are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Hawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. Hawks get the win and cover. |
|||||||
12-01-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Philadelphia 76ers UNDER 198 | Top | 109-103 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 15 m | Show |
Spurs at 76ers UNDER 198 San Antonio has beaten the 76ers seven straight times and has held them under 100 points in each of their last nine meetings. After the Spurs nice win in Boston last night I don’t see a full effort on their part tonight vs. the lowly 76ers. The under is 8-1 in Spurs last 9 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and the under is 11-3 in Spurs last 14 games playing on 0 days’ rest. The under is 5-0 in 76ers last 5 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The under is 6-0 in the last 6 meetings. |
|||||||
11-30-14 | Memphis Grizzlies -2.5 v. Sacramento Kings | Top | 97-85 | Win | 100 | 5 h 35 m | Show |
Memphis The Kings yielded season highs of 112 points and 51.2 percent shooting in Friday's eight-point loss in San Antonio, but star center DeMarcus Cousins was a scratch with a 102-degree temperature. If he plays today he will not be 100%. Memphis won its fourth straight game in Friday's 112-99 win at Portland to improve to an NBA-best 14-2. The Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. |
|||||||
11-29-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -5 v. Utah Jazz | Top | 112-96 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show |
Clippers – 5 The Los Angeles Clippers look for their 11th consecutive victory over Utah when they visit the Jazz on Saturday. The home floor has been anything but an advantage for Utah as Los Angeles has won in each of its last five visits to Salt Lake City. The Clippers are 5-1 on a seven-game road trip after posting a 102-85 victory over the Rockets on Friday. The Jazz are just 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. Lay the points with the Clippers. |
|||||||
11-28-14 | New York Knicks v. Oklahoma City Thunder -8.5 | Top | 78-105 | Win | 100 | 6 h 39 m | Show |
Thunder – 8.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder are hoping to have point guard Russell Westbrook on the court when they host the New York Knicks on Friday. The status of New York star Carmelo Anthony is also in doubt after he missed Wednesday’s overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks with back spasms. Every indication is he will not play tonight. Oklahoma City has won five of the past six meetings and I see them coming up with a big effort for the home fans tonight. |
|||||||
11-26-14 | Milwaukee Bucks -1 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 103-86 | Win | 100 | 7 h 51 m | Show |
Bucks – 1 Milwaukee has put forth a positive start this season on the strength of solid defense and offensive balance, with loads of contributions coming from the bench. Bucks G Brandon Knight has scored in double figures in 15 straight games. Minnesota still has some key players injured and is a very young team. The Bucks grab the road win. |
|||||||
11-26-14 | Toronto Raptors v. Atlanta Hawks +3.5 | Top | 126-115 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 22 m | Show |
Hawks + 3.5 The Hawks held off Washington, which owns the second-best record in the East, for a 106-102 win Tuesday. Next up is a visit from the Raptors, who are tied for the NBA's best mark. The Raptors have erased double-digit deficits to win their last two road games but will have problems with the Hawks on their home floor. The Hawks have won six of eight and are 5-1 at home. I see a little letdown spot here for Toronto on the road. Take the Hawks plus the points. |
|||||||
11-25-14 | Detroit Pistons v. Milwaukee Bucks -3 | Top | 86-98 | Win | 100 | 6 h 25 m | Show |
Bucks – 3 Detroit has lost four in a row, the latest a 99-89 setback in Atlanta on Friday in which the Pistons shot 37.3 percent from the floor to drop their season average to 41 percent, 29th in the NBA. The Bucks won five out of six following a loss at Detroit on Nov. 7 but have dropped two consecutive decisions, including a 111-100 setback against Washington on Saturday. Brandon Knight scored 27 points in the loss, which left Milwaukee with a 4-2 mark at home. Look for the Bucks to bounce back tonight at home. |
|||||||
11-25-14 | Atlanta Hawks v. Washington Wizards OVER 200 | Top | 106-102 | Win | 100 | 5 h 26 m | Show |
Atl/Was Over 200 The over is 6-1 in Hawks last 7 games playing on 3 or more days rest and the over is 4-1 in Hawks last 5 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game. The over is 16-6 in Wizards last 22 games following a SU win of more than 10 points and the over is 5-1 in Wizards last 6 games following an ATS win. Look for an up and down game as the over is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings. |
|||||||
11-24-14 | Los Angeles Clippers -4.5 v. Charlotte Hornets | Top | 113-92 | Win | 100 | 4 h 60 m | Show |
Clippers After winning the first two games on the trip over Eastern Conference foes, the Clippers were pasted 107-91 at Memphis on Sunday. They have a chance to rebound with their next two games against teams near the bottom of the standings in the East in Charlotte and Detroit and they will take advantage. Los Angeles has won 32 consecutive games when shooting 50 percent or better from the floor, the second-longest active streak in the league. Look for them to have a good shooting night here vs. the Hornets. |
|||||||
11-22-14 | Dallas Mavericks -3 v. Houston Rockets | Top | 92-95 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 37 m | Show |
Mavs – 3 The Mavericks put up 140 points in a win over the Lakers last night, will play the second night of a back-to-back when they visit the Rockets. Houston is not so hot offensively at the moment with Dwight Howard and Terrence Jones ailing and has dropped two straight and four in a row vs. the spread. The Mavs are 12-3 SU last 15 against the Rockets. Dallas is the play. |
|||||||
11-21-14 | Milwaukee Bucks +9 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 83-124 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 44 m | Show |
Bucks + 9 The much-improved Bucks have won three straight and persevered Wednesday behind a career-high 23 points from rookie Jabari Parker on a night when former Nets star player and coach Jason Kidd was soundly booed in his return to Brooklyn. The Raptors are off to the best start in franchise history and have the best record in the Eastern Conference but have problems covering big spread. While the Bucks maybe a little spent they are a young team and will hang in this game tonight. |
|||||||
11-19-14 | San Antonio Spurs +2 v. Cleveland Cavaliers | Top | 92-90 | Win | 100 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
LeBron James gets a shot at the team that ended his tenure in Miami on a sour note when he and the Cleveland Cavaliers host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday on ESPN. Each team has won four of its last five after starting the season slowly. The Cavs suffered a puzzling 106-97 loss to visiting Denver on Monday, snapping a four-game winning streak., The Cavs are still trying to pull it all together as a team and I think it’s still going to take more time. As for the Spurs their stars got a bit of a break Monday, as only one starter played more than 20 minutes in a 100-75 win over winless Philadelphia. At this early point of the season the Spurs are the better team and I’ll back them here on the road. |
|||||||
11-18-14 | New York Knicks v. Milwaukee Bucks -1.5 | Top | 113-117 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show |
New York has won eight of the last nine games against Milwaukee but will be facing a different Bucks team that has won three of four after a 91-84 win at Miami on Sunday. Milwaukee dominated the defending Eastern Conference champs in the second half, riding three late 3-pointers by Brandon Knight to a victory that brought Jason Kidd's team back to .500 at 5-5. The Bucks did not pick up their fifth win until their 21st game last season. This is an improved Bucks team and I like them to control this game vs. NY, The Knicks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 1 days rest. The Bucks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. |
|||||||
11-17-14 | Phoenix Suns -1.5 v. Boston Celtics | Top | 118-114 | Win | 100 | 7 h 56 m | Show |
Phoenix likes to play at a fast pace and capitalize in transition, averaging 17.3 fast-break points - the second-most in the league. A strong second unit allows the Suns to push the pace, as reserves Isaiah Thomas (16.7 points) and Gerald Green (14.6 points) are among the team's top three scorers along with guard Goran Dragic (15 points). In fact, Phoenix's leading scorer has come from the bench in all five of its victories. Celtics rookie G Marcus Smart (ankle) will miss his fourth straight game and C Vitor Faverini (knee) remains sidelined. The Celtics are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 vs. Western Conference. The Suns are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. NBA Atlantic. |
|||||||
11-12-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Phoenix Suns -5.5 | Top | 104-112 | Win | 100 | 10 h 33 m | Show |
Suns – 5.5 The Phoenix Suns are trying out a three-point guard approach and Goran Dragic, Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas have each had their moments. The Suns ended Golden State’s undefeated run 107-95 back on Sunday. Phoenix built more depth into the roster with the addition of Thomas, and his combination with fellow reserve Gerald Green is what pushed the Suns over the top on Sunday. While the Nets have controlled this series, I’m looking for the Suns to get some revenge with a home victory and cover. |
|||||||
11-11-14 | Los Angeles Lakers v. Memphis Grizzlies -9.5 | Top | 102-107 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 29 m | Show |
11-07-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Boston Celtics -4 | Top | 98-101 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
#508 7:30pm Celtics – 4 Teams in desperate need of a win meet Friday when the Indiana Pacers visit the Boston Celtics. The undermanned Pacers who started last season 11-0, won their opener against Philadelphia but have dropped four straight since. The Celtics tore apart Brooklyn in their opener, and were blown off the floor in the first half at Houston and Dallas before a late turnover by rookie Marcus Smart led to a 110-107 loss to Toronto on Wednesday. Indiana still plays solid defense but ranks 27th with 18.4 turnovers per game and has very few options on offense. Rajon Rondo recorded his 30th career triple-double with 13 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds, and Jared Sullinger added season highs of 19 points and 16 rebounds in Wednesdays loss. Boston has more firepower and behind the home Friday night crowd they get the win and cover. |
|||||||
11-06-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Houston Rockets -4 | Top | 81-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 36 m | Show |
Rockets – 4 The Houston Rockets aim to add to their best start in 18 years when they host the defending champion San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Rockets are 5-0 for the first time since 1996-97, and they've done it in convincing fashion, outscoring opponents by 71 points and winning each game by double digits. Houston has won five straight against San Antonio, which blew a 17-point lead before pulling out a 94-92 home win over Atlanta on Wednesday. The Rockets are rested and the Spurs are off last night’s game. I’ll lay the small number here with the home team. |
|||||||
11-04-14 | Washington Wizards +1.5 v. New York Knicks | Top | 98-83 | Win | 100 | 22 h 50 m | Show |
Wizards + 1.5 The Knicks have a couple of nice wins but I still see problems with their offense. Washington won and covered all three games last season and may just be a better team this year. Anthony was held to 21.7 points against Washington last season, his lowest average versus an Eastern Conference opponent, and had nine turnovers in the most recent encounter April 4. The Wizards are the more balanced team and have an edge in the front court. Back the road team with Washington. |
|||||||
10-31-14 | Cleveland Cavaliers v. Chicago Bulls -3.5 | Top | 114-108 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 58 m | Show |
# 704 8pm Bulls – 3.5 The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls are the two popular picks to battle each other for Eastern Conference supremacy. Both teams will get an early look at how they stack up against one another when Derrick Rose and the Bulls host LeBron James and the Cavaliers on ESPN tonight. Chicago dominated the New York Knicks on the road in their opener on Wednesday while Cleveland showed it still has some work to do in its first game last night vs. the same Knicks. Chicago’s bench put up 55 points on 21-of-34 shooting on Wednesday. James was held to 18.3 points on 39.2 percent shooting in three games against the Bulls last season. I’m laying the points with the Bulls at home to make a early statement. |
|||||||
10-29-14 | Chicago Bulls -4 v. New York Knicks | Top | 104-80 | Win | 100 | 21 h 16 m | Show |
Bulls The Chicago Bulls are the popular preseason pick to challenge LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference – as long as Derrick Rose manages to stay healthy and productive. The New York Knicks, who host the Bulls in the season opener for both teams on Wednesday, are hoping to improve on a bad season from a year ago. Rose made it through the summer healthy and will start at the point against the Knicks. The 2010-11 MVP showed off his old explosiveness over the summer and continued to impress during the preseason as the Bulls worked Gasol and rookie Doug McDermott into the offense. I’ll lay the points with the Bulls to open the season. |
|||||||
06-12-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Miami Heat -5 | Top | 107-86 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 16 m | Show |
# 708 9pm Heat – 5 The San Antonio Spurs are coming off an epic performance and look to claim a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals when they visit the Miami Heat on Thursday. San Antonio set an NBA Finals record by shooting 75.8 percent from the field in the first half and led by as many as 25 points while rolling to a 111-92 victory in Tuesday’s Game 3. Miami committed 20 turnovers in Game 3 – James made seven of the miscues – while G Danny Green had five of San Antonio’s 12 steals. Look for Miami to correct that problem and also play much better defense tonight. The Spurs are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Heat are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a double-digit loss at home. The Heat have won 13 consecutive playoff games following a loss. |

06-10-14 | San Antonio Spurs +5 v. Miami Heat | Top | 111-92 | Win | 100 | 7 h 18 m | Show |
# 705 9pm Spurs + 5 LeBron James avoided cramping issues in Game 2 and he looks to help Miami take the series lead when the Heat host the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. San Antonio played a lackluster fourth quarter in Sunday’s 98-96 loss and a tipping point was when point guard Tony Parker and power forward Tim Duncan each missed two free throws in a nine-second span with the Spurs leading by two points. San Antonio closed Game 1 with an impressive 31-9 burst but lacked the finishing touches in Game 2 when it went 6-of-17 shooting in the final quarter. I don’t expect the Spurs to miss key free throws or have a bad shooting 4th quarter again. Take the points in what will be a tight game. |
|||||||
06-08-14 | Miami Heat +4.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 98-96 | Win | 100 | 8 h 31 m | Show |
# 703 8pm Heat + 4.5 The air-conditioning system in San Antonio has been fixed and LeBron James attempts to move past a dreadful fourth-quarter experience as the Miami Heat seek to bounce back from a Game 1 loss when they visit the Spurs in Sunday’s Game 2 of the NBA Finals. The Heat were in position to win game 1 before James was on and off the beach in the last 7 minutes. Miami is 5-0 in game 2 in series with James when losing the opening game, rebounding to win every game. This one will be close in the 4th quarter and I’m backing the Heat plus the points. |
|||||||
06-05-14 | Miami Heat v. San Antonio Spurs -4.5 | Top | 95-110 | Win | 100 | 7 h 16 m | Show |
# 702 9pm Spurs – 4.5 The San Antonio Spurs wish to atone for last season’s collapse against the Miami Heat when the highly anticipated rematch in the NBA Finals begins on Thursday in San Antonio. Spurs point guard Tony Parker is expected to play in the opener despite further injuring an ankle in the series finale against Oklahoma City on Saturday. The teams split two regular-season meetings, each winning by double digits at home. Here in game 1 I am backing the Spurs at home. |
|||||||
05-31-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5 | Top | 112-107 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 24 m | Show |
# 524 8:30pm Thunder – 3.5 The San Antonio Spurs are one victory away from returning to the NBA Finals but have a dubious streak to overcome if they are to end the Western Conference finals on Saturday. San Antonio owns a 3-2 lead in the series as it returns to Oklahoma City, where the Spurs have lost nine consecutive games dating back to March 16, 2012. The Thunder easily won Games 3 and 4 at home and look to force a Game 7 in San Antonio and I feel they will. The Spurs are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games. The Home team is 16-5-1 ATS in the last 22 meetings. |
|||||||
05-29-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder +5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 89-117 | Loss | -106 | 7 h 55 m | Show |
# 519 9pm Thunder + 5 Oklahoma City got Serge Ibaka back and suddenly won consecutive games to get back into the Western Conference finals. Now the Thunder look to see if they can keep the momentum going when they visit the San Antonio Spurs in Thursday’s Game 5. San Antonio crushed Oklahoma City by an average of 26 points in the opening two games on its home floor before Ibaka returned from a calf injury and the Thunder turned the tide. Durant may be the league MVP but running mate Russell Westbrook was easily the best player on the floor in Game 4. Westbrook had 40 points – three shy of his postseason high set against Miami in the 2012 NBA Finals – to go with 10 assists and five steals in a scintillating performance. Westbrook played 45 minutes and committed just three turnovers – the Thunder had seven as a team – and helped Oklahoma City to a 21-0 edge in fast-break points. While each game has been a rout so far in the series I see this one coming down to late in the 4th quarter. Take the points with OKC. |
|||||||
05-28-14 | Miami Heat v. Indiana Pacers +2 | Top | 90-93 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
# 518 8:30pm Pacers + 2 The Miami Heat are on the verge of a fourth consecutive trip to the NBA Finals while the Indiana Pacers are one loss away from a long summer of figuring out what went wrong. The Heat will look to close out the Eastern Conference finals when they visit the Pacers for Game 5 on Wednesday. Indiana took Game 1 of the series but has dropped three straight and never looked like it had a chance as Miami cruised through Game 4 on Monday. The Pacers have never won a series in which they trailed 3-1 but are not giving up and my feeling is they will come to play with a big effort here at home. Miami G Ray Allen (hip) and F Chris Andersen (thigh) are both questionable for Game 5. Take the Pacers to extend the series back to Miami for game 6. |
|||||||
05-27-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder OVER 206.5 | Top | 92-105 | Loss | -103 | 8 h 36 m | Show |
# 515/516 9pm Over 206.5 While the over came up just short on Sunday in game 3 I see this one playing out with both teams hitting more shots and free throws adding to the point total. The over is 15-5 in Spurs last 20 games following an ATS loss. The over is 7-3 in Spurs last 10 Conference Finals games. The over is 7-2 in Thunder last 9 games following an ATS win and over is 6-2 in Thunder last 8 games following a S.U. win. |
|||||||
05-27-14 | San Antonio Spurs v. Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 | Top | 92-105 | Win | 100 | 8 h 35 m | Show |
# 516 9pm Thunder - 2.5 The Oklahoma City Thunder received a lift from Serge Ibaka and will attempt to even the Western Conference when they host the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Tuesday. San Antonio won the first two games by an average of 26 points but Ibaka returned from a calf injury and his presence negated the Spurs’ inside advantage and helped the Thunder to a 106-97 win on Sunday. Tony Parker had a subpar Game 3 with just nine points on 4-of-13 shooting and expressed during Monday’s media availability session that he must perform significantly better. The veteran point guard also had the same number of assists as turnovers – four – after averaging 18 points, 8.5 assists and 2.5 turnovers in the first two games. Parker simply plays better at home. Ibaka was the missing link to a frontcourt that struggled without him in the first two games. Oklahoma City is 5-0 against the Spurs this season with Ibaka in the lineup and 0-2 when he isn’t. The Thunder are 15-3 ATS in their last 18 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. I see the Thunder getting the win and notching up the series at 2-2 tonight. |
|||||||
05-26-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Miami Heat -6 | Top | 90-102 | Win | 100 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
# 514 8:30pm Heat – 6 The Miami Heat placed the on-off switch firmly in the “on” position to take control of the Eastern Conference finals. The Heat will try to keep their energy at that level and earn a commanding 3-1 lead in the series when they host the Indiana Pacers in Game 4 on Monday. The Pacers have appeared to be the dominant team in the series for long stretches in each game but failed to put together the necessary run in the fourth quarter of the last two contests. Miami got a big boost in the fourth quarter of Game 3 from Ray Allen, who hit four 3-pointers in the period and finished with 16 points. The home team has covered in eight of the past 11 meetings between the two teams and I like Miami to win and cover again. |
|||||||
05-24-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Miami Heat -6.5 | 87-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show | |
# 510 8:30pm Heat – 6.5 The Indiana Pacers have enough to worry about against the Miami Heat without trying to figure out how to replace an All-Star. The Pacers hope to have forward Paul George available when they visit the Heat for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday. George was diagnosed with a concussion after taking a knee to the head on Tuesday and will need to pass NBA-mandated tests before he is eligible to return to action which he should be able to do. George is off to a rough start offensively in the series after being held to 14 points on 4-of-16 shooting in Game 2. James and Wade put their stamp on the series in the fourth quarter of Game 2, scoring or assisting on every point scored and never panicking when Miami got down. The Pacers defense gave James and Wade enough time to find their groove when the fourth quarter rolled around. I look for Miami to give a full effort from start to finish and win this game going away. Lay the points with the Heat. |
|||||||
05-21-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. San Antonio Spurs OVER 210 | Top | 77-112 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 27 m | Show |
# 508/509 9pm Thunder/Spurs Over 210 Duncan scored 21 of his 27 points in the opening half as the Spurs established they could operate at will in the interior. The display also opened up the outside as guard Danny Green went 4-of-5 from 3-point range and guard Manu Ginobili scored all 18 of his points in the second half. Thunder stars Kevin Durant (28) and Russell Westbrook (25) combined for 53 points but San Antonio seldom allowed Oklahoma City to carry the flow of the game. I think OKC Shoots the ball better tonight. The over is 7-1 in Spurs last 8 games following a S.U. win. The over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in San Antonio. |
|||||||
05-21-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. San Antonio Spurs -6 | Top | 77-112 | Win | 100 | 7 h 26 m | Show |
# 508 9pm Spurs – 6 The San Antonio Spurs unleashed a dominant display in the series opener and look to make it two consecutive wins over Oklahoma City when they host the Thunder in Wednesday’s second game of the Western Conference finals. San Antonio shot 57.5 percent from the field and owned a 66-32 edge in points in the paint while rolling to a 122-105 victory. Oklahoma City couldn’t stop Tim Duncan in the first half with post player Serge Ibaka out for the series due to a calf injury. I don’t see much changing here in game two. Perhaps Ibaka is Oklahoma City’s most important player and not league MVP Kevin Durant. The Thunder were lost defensively without him on the floor. Lay the points with the Spurs. |
|||||||
05-20-14 | Miami Heat -2 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 87-83 | Win | 100 | 7 h 35 m | Show |
# 505 8:30pm Heat – 2 The Heat will attempt to draw even in the Eastern Conference finals when they visit the Indiana Pacers for Game 2 on Tuesday. Indiana limped through the last half of the regular season and the first two rounds of the playoffs but was clearly the dominant team in Game 1, leading wire-to-wire as Miami struggled to get stops. I’m not expecting the Pacers to play that well tonight. The Heat lost for just the second time in the playoffs but remained unconcerned and confident moving forward. The Pacers attempted 22 more free throws than the Heat in Game 1 and I don’t see that happening again. Back the Heat to tie up the series at 1-1. |
|||||||
05-19-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder +5.5 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 105-122 | Loss | -104 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
# 503 9pm Thunder + 5.5 Oklahoma City standout Kevin Durant posted nine 30-point outings while averaging 31.4 points during the first two rounds of the postseason and is hoping to lead the Thunder past San Antonio in the conference finals for the second time. Oklahoma City, which is the West finals for the third time in four seasons, defeated the Spurs in six games in 2012 to reach the NBA Finals for the lone time since the franchise relocated from Seattle. The Thunder won all four regular-season meetings with the Spurs but will be without valuable power forward Serge Ibaka (calf) for the series. Beating the Spurs without Ibaka will be a challenge and rookie Steven Adams and veteran Nick Collison will be asked to plug the gap. Adams played 40 minutes in the series-clinching victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday, posting a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds as he displayed that he can do more than be an antagonist. Collison averaged 11.2 minutes during the first two rounds of the playoffs and could double that amount against the Spurs. I see game one playing out as a close one so take the points with the Thunder. |
|||||||
05-18-14 | Miami Heat -2 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 96-107 | Loss | -107 | 3 h 17 m | Show |
# 501 3:30pm Heat – 2 The Indiana Pacers have been waiting a year for a second chance at the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference finals after falling in seven games last spring. The Pacers had a rocky road getting back but will finally get their shot at the Heat when they host Game 1 on Sunday. Miami cruised through the first two rounds in a total of nine games while Indiana needed seven games to sneak past No. 8 seed Atlanta in the first round before fumbling past Washington in six. Bottom line here for me is I can’t trust the Pacers and I can see a letdown from them again in game one. Take Miami to grab the 1-0 series lead. |
|||||||
05-15-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder +4.5 v. Los Angeles Clippers | Top | 104-98 | Win | 100 | 9 h 23 m | Show |
# 743 10:30pm Thunder + 4.5 Oklahoma City and Los Angeles have traded epic comeback victories and the end result is that the Thunder have a chance to sew up the Western Conference semifinals when they visit the Clippers on Thursday. Oklahoma City saw a 16-point fourth-quarter lead evaporate in Game 4 before falling and then rebounded from a 13-point deficit over the final four minutes to rally for a win on Tuesday. Russell Westbrook hit three late free throws to cap a 38-point effort that gave the Thunder a 3-2 lead. Westbrook stepped up with his highest scoring game of the postseason and I feel he will be on his game again tonight. Also look for K. Durant to have a much better shooting night then in game five. Back the Thunder plus the points. |
|||||||
05-15-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Washington Wizards -4 | Top | 93-80 | Loss | -109 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
# 742 8pm Wizards – 4 The Washington Wizards emphatically announced that they had no intention of bowing out quietly in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Wizards will attempt to keep the series going and put together a second straight dominating performance when they host the Indiana Pacers in Game 6 on Thursday. The Pacers suffered a big letdown on the interior in their return home and could not match the intensity of the Wizards in the elimination game. I see the Wizards coming out again here with another very high intensive effort and they get the home victory and cover. The Wizards are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win. |
|||||||
05-14-14 | PORTLAND GM5 v. SAN ANTONIO GM5 OVER 208.5 | Top | 82-104 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 11 m | Show |
# 739/740 9:30pm Blazers/Spurs Over 208.5 The Portland Trail Blazers avoided elimination for at least one more game and will attempt to keep their season alive when they visit the San Antonio Spurs for Game 5 on Wednesday. The Trail Blazers made some changes to their rotation in Game 4 to catch the Spurs off-guard and dominated the final 17 minutes to pull within 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. San Antonio let it slip away and barely attempted to recover on Monday, sitting Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker for the entire fourth quarter in the 103-92 loss. Here in game five I see this one being close in the 4th quarter with both teams being able to put up points. The over is 35-17-1 in Spurs last 53 games following a ATS loss and the over is 13-3 in Spurs last 16 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points. The over is 7-1 in Trail Blazers last 8 games following a S.U. win. |
|||||||
05-07-14 | LA CLIPPERS GM2 v. OKLAHOMA CITY GM2 OVER 214.5 | Top | 101-112 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 52 m | Show |
# 711/712 Over 214.5 9:30pm Oklahoma City star Kevin Durant was named MVP on Tuesday but he wasn’t close to being the best player on the court in Monday’s series-opening loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Chris Paul had the best shooting game of his stellar career in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals and will try to stake the visiting Clippers to a 2-0 series lead in Wednesday’s contest. Paul made 8-of-9 3-point attempts and had 32 points and 10 assists in Los Angeles’ easy 122-105 victory. The 17-point defeat was Oklahoma City’s worst home playoff loss since moving from Seattle. The Thunder will shoot the ball better tonight. Los Angeles set a franchise playoff record with 15 3-pointers in the opener. The over is 9-2 in Clippers last 11 overall. The over is 20-6 in Thunder last 26 games playing on 1 days rest. The over is 6-1 in the last 7 meetings in Oklahoma City and 10-3 in the last 13 meetings. |
|||||||
05-06-14 | Portland Trail Blazers +7 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 92-116 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 58 m | Show |
# 707 9:30pm Blazers + 7 The Portland Trail Blazers went to overtime three times in the first round and needed a last-second jumper from Damian Lillard to avoid a Game 7. Their reward for such perseverance is a date with the top-seeded San Antonio Spurs, who host Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals on Tuesday. The Spurs went seven games with the Dallas Mavericks but left no doubt who was the better team with a 119-96 drubbing in Game 7. The teams split four regular-season meetings, with each taking one game on the other’s home court. The Blazers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Spurs are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. Take the points in what plays out to be a close game. |
|||||||
05-06-14 | Brooklyn Nets +8 v. Miami Heat | Top | 86-107 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 27 m | Show |
# 705 7pm Nets + 8 The Brooklyn Nets won all four regular-season contests against Miami this season and recording four more would qualify as quite the upset as they prepare to face the host Heat in Tuesday’s opener of the Eastern Conference semifinals. Brooklyn won three of the meetings by a single point and also recorded a 104-95 double-overtime victory as a veteran group led by Paul Pierce isn’t intimidated by LeBron James and his teammates. The sixth-seeded Nets went seven games against Toronto in the first round before squeezing out a 104-103 win on Sunday to advance but are highly confident in terms of facing the two-time defending champions. Brooklyn has a veteran group led by Johnson and Pierce that won’t succumb to the playoff pressure against the Heat. While Miami may get game one my feeling is this line is too inflated. Take the points with the Nets. |
|||||||
05-05-14 | Washington Wizards +4 v. Indiana Pacers | Top | 102-96 | Win | 100 | 6 h 40 m | Show |
# 701 7pm Wizards + 4 The Indiana Pacers looked like something much less than the juggernaut that ripped through the first four months of the regular season in the first round of the playoffs, needing seven games to dispatch of eighth-seeded Atlanta. The fifth-seeded Washington Wizards, who visit the top-seeded Pacers for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals on Monday, have been sitting home getting plenty of rest. The Wizards had little trouble scraping by the Chicago Bulls. The series with Chicago fully prepared Washington to deal with a rugged defensive team, as the Bulls and Pacers were the top two clubs in most defensive categories during the regular season. The Wizards relied on different players each night and attacked Chicago from different sides to cruise to a five-game win in the first round. The Pacers trailed 3-2 in their first-round series and had a little trouble finding their identity along the way. Here in game one I see this being a very close game with the Wizards possibly being able to pull out a victory. Take the points with Washington. |
|||||||
05-02-14 | Houston Rockets v. Portland Trail Blazers -3.5 | Top | 98-99 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 46 m | Show |
# 536 10:30pm Blazers – 3.5 The Houston Rockets staved off elimination and attempt to even the Western Conference first-round series at 3-3 when they visit the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. The Rockets thrived with their season on the line in Game 5 and avoided the late-game breakdowns that hurt them earlier in the series while posting a 108-98 victory on Wednesday. Now the Trail Blazers feel the urgency to wrap up the series at home to keep from having to travel back to Houston for a Game 7. Aldridge averaged 35.3 points over the first four games – including outings of 46 and 43 points to begin the series – before being a complete nonfactor in Game 5. I see him coming back with a big game tonight. Portland gets game six here at home. |
|||||||
05-02-14 | San Antonio Spurs -3 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 111-113 | Loss | -105 | 7 h 15 m | Show |
# 533 8pm Spurs – 3 The San Antonio Spurs look to advance out of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs for the 12th time in 14 years when they visit Dallas for Game 6 of their best-of-seven matchup Friday night. San Antonio has rebounded from an early 2-1 series deficit by taking the last two contests by a combined 10 points. The Spurs held off a Mavericks charge in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's Game 5 clash to produce a 109-103 win, with Tony Parker leading the way with 23 points. San Antonio is at its best when it shares the basketball and Game 5 was a wonderful example, as four different Spurs recorded at least five assists and the club had 24 against only six turnovers after giving up the ball an average of 18 times over the previous three games. The Spurs have won two of the last three games and - if not for Carter's buzzer-beater in Game 3 - would have won that one as well, and much of it can be attributed to their ability to stifle Devin Harris. The veteran guard averaged 18.5 points off the bench in the first two games of the series and was one of the keys to the Dallas rout in Game 2, but he has a total of 15 points on 6-of-23 shooting in the last three games. The Spurs get it done and move on to round two. |
|||||||
05-01-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder -2.5 v. Memphis Grizzlies | Top | 104-84 | Win | 100 | 7 h 58 m | Show |
# 525 8pm Thunder – 2.5 The Memphis Grizzlies will try to sew up a historic first-round series when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. The Grizzlies hold a 3-2 lead in the tense matchup after prevailing on Tuesday in a record fourth consecutive overtime game. Oklahoma City stars Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook have struggled with poor shooting and the Thunder are facing elimination by the Grizzlies for the second straight postseason. Durant might be about to wrestle regular-season MVP honors away from LeBron James but he has experienced a shaky series while being hounded by smaller Memphis defender Tony Allen. Durant is shooting just 40 percent from the field – and 28.6 percent from 3-point range. I feel that changes tonight as he gives one of his best efforts of the season. Take the Thunder to force game seven. |
|||||||
05-01-14 | Indiana Pacers v. Atlanta Hawks -105 | Top | 95-88 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 3 m | Show |
# 522 7pm Hawks - pk The Indiana Pacers keep finding ways to stay alive in their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks, and they’re going to need to find one more. The eighth-seeded Hawks can close out the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series when they host the Pacers in Game 6 on Thursday. Neither team has managed to win back-to-back games so far in the series but every time it looks like Indiana is ready to play like the No. 1 seed, Atlanta comes back and smacks it down. The Pacers were booed in their own arena during Game 5 as the Hawks built up an 80-50 lead in the third quarter. Indiana came back and cut the deficit to single digits but never truly threatened as Atlanta earned a 107-97 victory to take a 3-2 lead in the series. Atlanta has hit at least 10 3-pointers in each of the first five games. The Pacers are 0-10 all-time in series in which they trailed 3-2. If Atlanta is to win this series their best shot would be here tonight at home. |
|||||||
04-30-14 | Brooklyn Nets v. Toronto Raptors -3 | Top | 113-115 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 14 m | Show |
# 514 7:30pm Raptors – 3 Coming off one of the best wins in franchise history, the Toronto Raptors look to grab control of their Eastern Conference first-round series when they host the Brooklyn Nets in Game 5 on Wednesday. Toronto had not won a road playoff game since 2001 and was banged up, but it rallied to steal Game 4 in Brooklyn on Sunday by an 87-79 score, tying the series at two games apiece. The Raptors lost a 17-point lead but held the Nets scoreless over the final 4:58 to take back homecourt advantage. Brooklyn has a notable advantage in terms of experience, a factor many thought would eventually decide the series, but Toronto has outscored the Nets 88-66 in the fourth quarter over the last three games.Toronto lost Game 1 at home in a tough spot for Raptors' players, who hadn't had any playoff experience. Leading scorer, DeMar DeRozan had just 14 points in that game. He's since played much more like himself and is averaging 28 points over the last three games. |
|||||||
04-30-14 | Dallas Mavericks v. San Antonio Spurs -6.5 | Top | 103-109 | Loss | -104 | 6 h 48 m | Show |
# 518 7pm Spurs – 6.5 After a gutsy effort on the road in Game 4 of a first-round series with Dallas, the San Antonio Spurs can now take control at home in Game 5 on Wednesday. Five days after they were blown out in Game 2 and two days after losing on a buzzer-beater, the Spurs blew a 20-point lead on Monday before finishing strong for a 93-89 win that tied the series at 2-2. For Dallas Blair's suspension deprives Dallas of one of its key reserves as the former Spur had given his club plenty of life off the bench when afforded the opportunity. I’m looking for the Spurs to finally come out and play a complete game from start to finish and get the win and cover. |
|||||||
04-29-14 | GOLDEN STATE GM5 +6 v. LA CLIPPERS GM5 | Top | 103-113 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 27 m | Show |
# 511 10:30pm Warriors + 6 The Los Angeles Clippers are trying to fight off the outside distractions and focus on Game 5 of their Western Conference playoff series against the Golden State Warriors. The Clippers will no doubt have to answer more questions about the behavior of owner Donald Sterling before hosting the Warriors in Game 5 on Tuesday. Sterling’s alleged racist comments came out prior to Game 4 and the team engaged in a silent protest prior to the contest and throughout. The Clippers controlled Games 2 and 3 to take a lead in the series but the Warriors dominated Game 4 and ended up with a 118-97 win behind Stephen Curry’s 33 points to even the series at two games apiece. After each team as won by blowouts I see this game coming down to late in the 4th quarter. Golden State plus the points is my selection. |
|||||||
04-29-14 | Memphis Grizzlies +7 v. Oklahoma City Thunder | Top | 100-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show |
# 509 9pm Grizzlies + 7 There was a different star on the big stage to keep Oklahoma City from falling into a big hole and the Thunder look to take a 3-2 series lead when they host the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. With Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook suffering through horrific shooting performances, backup guard Reggie Jackson stepped up as the premier option with a career-best 32 points in Saturday’s overtime win. Each of the last three games has gone into overtime. I see this game five being close as well so take the points with Memphis. |
|||||||
04-29-14 | Washington Wizards +4.5 v. Chicago Bulls | Top | 75-69 | Win | 100 | 7 h 43 m | Show |
# 507 8pm Wizards + 4.5 The Washington Wizards are ready to wrap up their first-round Eastern Conference Series against the Chicago Bulls. The Wizards put together their best start-to-finish performance of the series in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead and can close it out when they visit the Bulls for Game 5 on Tuesday. Washington was without Nene due to a one-game suspension in Game 4 but Trevor Ariza took on a bigger role in the offense to make up for the loss. Washington has not been to the Eastern Conference semifinals since the 2004-05 season but is making its way toward that goal with an offense that has relied on a different player in each of the three wins. Washington committed just six turnovers in Game 4 - the fewest the Bulls have forced all season. Matchups will continue to be a problem for the Bulls. Washington plus the points is the play. |

04-28-14 | San Antonio Spurs -4 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 93-89 | Push | 0 | 8 h 19 m | Show |
# 505 9:30pm Spurs – 4 The NBA playoffs have yielded unexpected results so far, with the Dallas Mavericks providing a stunning scenario in a best-of-seven matchup with top-seeded San Antonio in the West. The Mavericks look to build off a dramatic Game 3 win and take a commanding 3-1 series lead when they host the Spurs in Game 4 on Monday. After snapping the Spurs' 16-game home winning streak in Game 2, Dallas got a last-second 3-pointer by Vince Carter to steal a 109-108 win in Game 3 on Saturday. San Antonio has struggled to get consistent production from the supporting cast around the star trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili - who have combined to average 56 points on 53.8 percent shooting in the series. I’m looking for that to change tonight as Coach Pop is one of the best in the business at getting his guys going. The Spurs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games playing on 1 days rest and are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Dallas. The Mavericks are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. |

04-27-14 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Golden State Warriors OVER 209 | Top | 97-118 | Win | 100 | 3 h 10 m | Show |
# 755/756 Clippers/Warriors Over 209 The Golden State Warriors bounced back from an embarrassing Game 2 loss but did not have quite enough down the stretch to overcome the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 3. The Warriors will try to protect home court and even the series at two games apiece when they host the Clippers in Game 4 of the best-of-seven Western Conference series on Sunday. The Over is 17-5 in Clippers last 22 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Over is 9-3 in Warriors last 12 vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings. We’ll look for a up and down the floor game that leads to Over the posted total. |

04-26-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Memphis Grizzlies +3.5 | Top | 92-89 | Win | 100 | 9 h 57 m | Show |
# 752 9:30pm Grizzlies + 3.5 Tensions are running high with the Oklahoma City Thunder trailing Memphis in the Western Conference first-round series heading into Saturday’s crucial Game 4 on the Grizzlies’ home floor. Memphis recorded a 98-95 overtime victory on Thursday to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook is upset over criticism hurled his way. Making the task of evening the series tougher is the fact that Memphis has won 15 straight home games. Westbrook and Kevin Durant each scored 30 points in Game 3 but Durant was 10-of-27 shooting – he missed all eight 3-point attempts – and Westbrook was just 9-of-26. The Grizzlies are aiming to eliminate Oklahoma City for the second straight season. The teams have played seven playoff overtime games since 2011 and Memphis has won six of them. I am looking for another close game so take the points. |

04-26-14 | San Antonio Spurs -3.5 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 108-109 | Loss | -108 | 4 h 51 m | Show |
# 747 4:30pm Spurs – 3.5 After an easy win in San Antonio on Wednesday, the Dallas Mavericks attempt to carry momentum home for Game 3 against the Spurs on Saturday. The Mavericks won 10 of 14 on the road down the stretch and dominated Game 2, but they split their last 10 home games. Meanwhile, the Spurs were far and away the best road team in the NBA at 30-11 and will be chomping at the bit after an embarrassing 113-92 loss in Game 2 that featured a season-high 24 turnovers and little production from their starters. The Spurs have won four straight regular-season games in Dallas, including a 109-100 victory earlier this month despite the absence of star point guard Tony Parker. The Spurs will come out ready to play in a full effort and get the win and cover to tie up the series. |
|||||||
04-25-14 | Chicago Bulls v. Washington Wizards -3 | Top | 100-97 | Loss | -108 | 7 h 1 m | Show |
# 742 8pm Wizards – 3 The Washington Wizards have very little postseason experience but are on the verge of putting the Chicago Bulls into a very deep hole. The Wizards will look to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series when they host the Bulls in Game 3 on Friday. No. 5 seed Washington featured its frontcourt in Game 1 but let the backcourt carry the load in Game 2 as Bradley Beal and John Wall emerged. The Wizards proved their youth and inexperience would not force them to shrink in big moments when they recovered from a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime in Game 2 and have been strong down the stretch in each of the first two contests. Matchup problems have been the issue for the Bulls and I look for that to continue here with the Wizards being at home. |
|||||||
04-24-14 | Los Angeles Clippers v. Golden State Warriors OVER 213.5 | Top | 98-96 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 3 m | Show |
# 737/738 Clippers/Warriors Over 213.5 The Golden State Warriors did what they needed to do by taking a game on the road to start their best-of-seven series against the Los Angeles Clippers. But it was the Clippers, who visit the Warriors for Game 3 on Thursday, who made the loudest statement in the first two games with a 138-98 demolition in Game 2. The Over is 17-4 in Clippers last 21 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and is 6-1 in Clippers last 7 games following an ATS win. The Over is 11-5 in Warriors last 16 games playing on 2 days rest and is 5-0 in Warriors last 5 overall. The Over is 9-2 in the last 11 meetings. |
|||||||
04-24-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder -2 v. Memphis Grizzlies | Top | 95-98 | Loss | -107 | 5 h 24 m | Show |
# 735 8pm Thunder – 2 The Memphis Grizzlies swiped homecourt advantage away from Oklahoma City and attempt to take a 2-1 series lead when they host the Thunder on Wednesday in the seven-game Western Conference first-round series. The seventh-seeded Grizzlies recorded a 111-105 overtime victory in Game 2 to avoid a hole and are in a good position with the next two games being at home. Kevin Durant is averaging 34.5 points in the series for second-seeded Oklahoma City and he will have another big game tonight. Oklahoma City was eliminated from last season’s playoffs by the Grizzlies and the players are very aware that they lost in both visits to Memphis. The Thunder averaged just 89 points in the two losses – played without Russell Westbrook. Look for that to change this post season. Take the Thunder minus the small number.

04-23-14 | Dallas Mavericks v. San Antonio Spurs -8 | Top | 113-92 | Loss | -103 | 7 h 32 m | Show |
# 730 8pm Spurs – 8
After an impressive closing run in a Game 1 victory, the San Antonio Spurs look to ride the momentum into Game 2 of their best-of-seven playoff series with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday at home. The Mavericks were poised to pull off the series-opening upset, earning a 10-point lead midway through the fourth quarter, but the veteran Spurs absolutely dominated with a 19-4 finishing touch to pick up the 90-85 win. It was their 16th straight victory at home dating to the regular season. San Antonio limited Dallas' leading scorer Dirk Nowitzki to 11 points on 4-of-14 shooting in game one. Nowitzki's counterpart, Tim Duncan, had no issues on his end, producing 27 points to lead San Antonio, which has won 10 straight overall against Dallas. The Spurs come out much more focused here in game two and play with the lead most of the way. Lay the points with San Antonio. |
|||||||
04-22-14 | Brooklyn Nets +4.5 v. Toronto Raptors | Top | 95-100 | Loss | -104 | 7 h 38 m | Show |
# 723 7:30pm Nets + 4.5
The Brooklyn Nets look to grab a commanding lead of their best-of-seven series with the Toronto Raptors when the teams meet Tuesday in Toronto. Brooklyn rode a solid closing stretch to a 94-87 win in the series opener on Saturday to win its playoff opener for the second straight season and improve to 6-2 all-time against the Raptors in the postseason. Joe Johnson and Deron Williams scored 24 points apiece and Paul Pierce had nine of his 15 points in the closing moments. Toronto will be looking for more from leading scorer DeMar DeRozan, who missed his first eight shots en route to a a 3-for-13 showing that had some question his playoff readiness. Brooklyn is 13-0 when holding its opponent under 40 percent shooting; Toronto shot 39.4 percent Saturday. I’ll look for the Nets to continue to play solid defense and this one stays very close. Take the points with Brooklyn. |
|||||||
04-22-14 | Atlanta Hawks v. Indiana Pacers OVER 186.5 | Top | 85-101 | Loss | -103 | 6 h 8 m | Show |
# 721/722 7pm Hawks/Pacers Over 186.5
The Indiana Pacers seemed convinced prior to the start of the playoffs that they would be able to flip the switch and get back to dominating teams after a lackluster finish to the regular season. The eighth-seeded Atlanta Hawks, who visit the Pacers for Game 2 on Tuesday, made sure that it would not be quite that easy with a Game 1 win. The Hawks spread No. 1 seed Indiana out with 3-point shooters and point guard Jeff Teague dominated in an easy win. Teague scored a career playoff-high 28 points in Game 1 and was one of six players to knock down at least one 3-pointer for Atlanta. The Over is 7-0-1 in Pacers last 8 overall. The Over is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings in Indiana. |
|||||||
04-21-14 | Golden State Warriors v. Los Angeles Clippers OVER 212 | Top | 98-138 | Win | 100 | 8 h 7 m | Show |
# 719/720 10:30pm Golden State/Clippers Over 212
Golden State committed 23 turnovers and squandered an 11-point fourth-quarter lead but held the Clippers scoreless over the final 1:30 to lock up the win. Curry was hounded the entire game and finished with 14 points but Harrison Barnes and Draymond Green both hit big shots and Klay Thompson went for 22 points. Blake Griffin scored 16 points in only 19 minutes and fouled out on a loose ball call in the final minute as the referees whistled a total of 51 fouls. Over is 5-1 in the last six meetings in Los Angeles. Over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings. I see solid value in the Over the total. |
|||||||
04-21-14 | Memphis Grizzlies v. Oklahoma City Thunder -7 | Top | 111-105 | Loss | -106 | 6 h 37 m | Show |
# 718 8pm Thunder – 7
Memphis needs better performances from big men Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol, who were a combined 14-of-40 from the field in the opener. Randolph had 21 points and 11 rebounds but was just 7-of-21 shooting and also missed five free throws while Gasol (16 points) was mostly a nonfactor while going 7-of-19 from the field. Point guard Russell Westbrook missed the second-round series in which Memphis disposed of Oklahoma City in five games last season and was intent on making a difference in the opener. Westbrook scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half when the Thunder led by as many 25 points and finished with 10 rebounds. He was displeased with his third-quarter performance but was back on his game in the fourth when Oklahoma City reasserted control. Forward Kevin Durant started the series strong with 33 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Favorite is 4-0-1 ATS in the last five meetings.Home team is 3-0-1 ATS in the last four meetings. Take OKC minus the points. |
|||||||
04-20-14 | PORTLAND GM1 v. HOUSTON GM1 -5.5 | Top | 122-120 | Loss | -109 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
# 716 9:30pm Rockets – 5.5 Two offensive powerhouse squads are set to keep the scoreboard busy when the Houston Rockets entertain the visiting Portland Trail Blazers in Sunday’s opening game of the first-round Western Conference series. Fourth-seeded Houston averaged 116 points while winning three of the four regular-season meetings and finished second in the league in scoring at 107.7 points. Fifth-seeded Portland was fourth in scoring at 106.7 and put up an average of 109.5 against the Rockets. Houston averaged a league-best 9.5 3-pointers with star guard James Harden knocking down 177 while finishing fifth in the league with a 25.4 scoring average. Center Dwight Howard averaged 18.3 points and ranked fourth in the league in rebounding (12.2) while having a drama-free campaign with the Rockets. The Rockets get it done here in game one.

04-20-14 | Washington Wizards v. Chicago Bulls -4.5 | Top | 102-93 | Loss | -102 | 6 h 28 m | Show |
# 714 7pm Bulls – 4.5
The Washington Wizards worked hard over the final week of the regular season to jump into the No. 5 spot in the Eastern Conference. Their reward for that strong finish is a date with the fourth-seeded Chicago Bulls, who will host Game 1 of the best-of-seven set on Sunday. The Bulls led the league in scoring defense and have one of the best defensive and offensive forces in the league in the middle in center Joakim Noah. Chicago’s season was supposed to go into a tailspin when Derrick Rose was lost due to a knee injury but Joakim Noah emerged not just as the anchor to the defense but as a facilitator in the post while leading the team in assists. Noah put up 21 points and 12 rebounds in the April 5 meeting and finished the season with 11 straight double-doubles, including one of the points-assists variety, one rebounds-assists effort and one triple-double. Washington is appearing in the playoffs for the first time since the 2007-2008 season and with no playoff experience they will have their hands full with this Bulls defense. Take the Bulls here at home in game one. |
|||||||
04-16-14 | Washington Wizards -8 v. Boston Celtics | Top | 118-102 | Win | 100 | 7 h 59 m | Show |
# 513 8pm Wizards – 8 The Washington Wizards can clinch the sixth spot in the Eastern Conference playoffs with a win in the finale of the regular season at Boston on Wednesday. Washington has won three in a row to keep the surging Charlotte Bobcats in seventh place by a game, but the Bobcats own the tiebreaker if the teams tie on the final day of the season. The Wizards, who could also leap to the No. 5 seed if Brooklyn loses its final two games, took advantage of a Miami Heat team that was resting some regulars to secure a 114-93 win on Monday. The Celtics were crushed 118-92 in the nation's capitol in the previous meeting April 2. Washington shot a season-high 62.5 percent in the rout of Boston earlier this month. Celtics C Jared Sullinger (ankle), C Kris Humphries (knee) and G Jerryd Bayless (knee) have missed the last two games and are considered questionable. Washington has all the motivation here as a victory gets them the sixth seed and they avoid the Pacers and the Heat in the first round.

04-16-14 | Los Angeles Lakers v. San Antonio Spurs -8.5 | Top | 113-100 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 59 m | Show |
# 512 8pm Spurs – 8.5
The Los Angeles Lakers will end their season against the San Antonio Spurs for a second consecutive year when the teams meet Wednesday night in San Antonio in the final regular-season game. The Spurs are headed to the postseason for the 17th consecutive season. Everyone who attends the game is set to receive a poster featuring Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, but it would be a surprise if San Antonio’s Big Three made an appearance in the game. With the No. 1 seed locked up for the Western Conference playoffs and the trio taking part in Monday’s loss to the Houston Rockets, there’s a strong possibility coach Gregg Popovich will rest his aging stars in preparation for the start of the playoffs this weekend. But the Spurs will still not want to end the regular season with a loss in from of the home crowd. The Spurs backups will be ready to go and hammer the depleted Lakers. |
|||||||
04-16-14 | Dallas Mavericks v. Memphis Grizzlies -3.5 | Top | 105-106 | Loss | -108 | 6 h 58 m | Show |
# 502 8pm Grizzlies – 3.5
There is a lot at stake for both Dallas and Memphis when the Mavericks visit the Grizzlies in Wednesday’s regular-season finale. Both squads badly crave a victory, not just because it would equate to a 50-win season but also because the winner claims the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference and will avoid top-seeded San Antonio in the opening round of the playoffs. The Grizzlies have won four straight games and clinched their postseason spot with Monday’s victory over the Phoenix Suns. Memphis is seeking its 14th consecutive home win. I look for the Grizzlies to pull this one out here at home and get the 7th seed and avoid the Spurs. |
|||||||
04-14-14 | Memphis Grizzlies +3 v. Phoenix Suns | Top | 97-91 | Win | 100 | 9 h 41 m | Show |
# 517 10pm
Grizzlies + 3 The Memphis Grizzlies have their sights on clinching a Western Conference playoff spot when they visit the Phoenix Suns in Monday’s showdown. The Grizzlies have a one-game lead over the Suns for the final postseason berth in the West and can claim it by eliminating Phoenix. The Suns suffered a road loss to Dallas on Saturday that leaves them in a must-win situation over the last two regular-season games as Memphis already owns the tiebreaker. Memphis is 3-0 against the Suns this season and has won six of the last eight meetings. I’ll take the points with the better team in the Grizzlies. |
|||||||
04-13-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Indiana Pacers -2.5 | Top | 97-102 | Win | 100 | 1 h 2 m | Show |
# 708 1pm
Pacers – 2.5 The Indiana Pacers are still hopeful of claiming the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, but the quality of the opponent could pose a problem on Sunday. Indiana hosts the Oklahoma City Thunder – the No. 2 team in the West – as it attempts to wrestle the top spot in the East away from the Miami Heat, who defeated the Pacers on Friday. Oklahoma City leads the Los Angeles Clippers by 2 1/2 games and can clinch the second seed with a victory. Breaking this one down my feeling is OKC will not come with their best effort today while the Pacers need to play well with a chance of catching the Heat for the number one seed in the East. |
|||||||
04-12-14 | Phoenix Suns v. Dallas Mavericks -4 | Top | 98-101 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 55 m | Show |
# 514 8:30pm
Mavs – 4 A playoff berth could be on the line when the Dallas Mavericks host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday as both teams sit on the cusp of the final two playoff spots, along with the Memphis Grizzlies. The Suns missed an opportunity to improve their chances by losing Friday night to the San Antonio Spurs, who were resting veterans Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. Dallas is also coming off a loss Thursday to the Spurs, who were without their other All Star, point guard Tony Parker. If the Mavericks beat Phoenix, they will clinch the tiebreaker and be guaranteed to finish ahead of the Suns in the West standings. The Suns are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games when their starting 5 players combine for more than 160 minutes of the previous day. The Mavericks are 39-13 ATS in their last 52 games following a S.U. loss. The Favorite is 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings. I’m backing the Mavs at home. |
|||||||
04-11-14 | Phoenix Suns +3 v. San Antonio Spurs | Top | 104-112 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 6 m | Show |
# 721 8:30pm
Suns + 3 It will be interesting to see how San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich approaches the game after his veterans played 24 hours earlier in a hard-fought 109-100 win against the host Dallas. Both Tony Parker and Tim Duncan will be out tonight for the Spurs so I don’t think coach Pop really cares about this game. The Suns are in a three-way dog fight with Memphis and Dallas to make the playoffs, so you know they will be focused and bringing their A game tonight. Take the Suns plus the points. |
|||||||
04-11-14 | Atlanta Hawks v. Brooklyn Nets -4.5 | Top | 93-88 | Loss | -107 | 5 h 5 m | Show |
# 708 7:30pm
Nets – 4.5 The Brooklyn Nets haven't lost a home game in more than two months, which is bad news for the Atlanta Hawks, who need a win at Barclays Center on Friday as they try to lock up their seventh straight trip to the postseason. The Hawks have a two-game lead over the New York Knicks for the final berth in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Atlanta has struggled to a 12-27 road mark, which might be a tough trend to buck with Brooklyn having won a franchise-record 15 straight at home. The Nets have gotten an average of 26 points from guard Joe Johnson in the two previous matchups with his former team this season; Johnson is coming off a 31-point performance in Wednesday's 115-111 loss at Orlando. The Nets should have forward Paul Pierce back after he sat out the Magic game with a hip pointer, and center Andray Blatche is expected to return after missing the past two games because of illness. Back the Nets here at home. |
|||||||
04-10-14 | Denver Nuggets v. Golden State Warriors -11.5 | Top | 100-99 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 21 m | Show |
# 504 10:30pm
Warriors – 11.5 The Golden State Warriors are taking advantage of a soft portion of the schedule as they attempt to lock up a playoff spot. The Warriors will go for their third straight win against a sub-.500 opponent when they wrap up a three-game homestand against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday. The Nuggets are playing the second night of a back-to-back after getting 30 points and 15 assists from Randy Foye in a 123-116 home win over the Houston Rockets. That victory ensured Denver a winning record at home, but the team is just 13-26 and has lost six straight on the road. The Warriors are gearing up for the playoffs and looked primed with wins over Sacramento and Utah by a combined 61 points, leaving them one game ahead of the Dallas Mavericks in the race for sixth place in the Western Conference. I look for the Warriors to bring a full effort and win going away. |
|||||||
04-10-14 | San Antonio Spurs +2 v. Dallas Mavericks | Top | 109-100 | Win | 100 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
# 501 8pm
Spurs + 2 The San Antonio Spurs have suddenly hit a bump in the road as home-court advantage throughout the Western Conference playoffs is just out of reach, and the Dallas Mavericks will be trying to improve their postseason chances when the Texas teams meet Thursday in Dallas. San Antonio had its franchise-record 19-game winning streak snapped last Thursday against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Spurs dropped their second game in the last three Tuesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With the Thunder winning last night the Spurs are now just 2 ½ games up for the #1 seed in the West. The Spurs will be without six-time All-Star point guard Tony Parker but look for the Spurs to be able to handle him being on the beach. Coach Pop also can knock Dallas down to the 8th seed win a victory tonight. The Mavericks' final two regular-season games are against the Phoenix Suns and Grizzlies, two of the four teams fighting for the final three playoff spots in the West so a loss here should not affect them. Take the Spurs. |
|||||||
04-09-14 | Miami Heat v. Memphis Grizzlies -4.5 | Top | 102-107 | Win | 100 | 8 h 59 m | Show |
# 714 8pm
Grizzlies – 4.5 LeBron James had a chance to move the Miami Heat 1 1/2 games ahead of the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday but had his game-winning dunk attempt blocked in a loss to the Brooklyn Nets. James will take on an interior defense even more imposing when the Heat travel to the Memphis Grizzlies for the second night of a back-to-back on Wednesday. The Grizzlies are a game behind the Phoenix Suns in the race for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference is this one is important to them. Miami has dropped two of three and needs to avoid looking past Memphis to Friday, when it welcomes the Pacers for a showdown. I look for Memphis is really step it up here on defense and grab the home win. |
|||||||
04-09-14 | Chicago Bulls -3 v. Minnesota Timberwolves | Top | 102-87 | Win | 100 | 8 h 59 m | Show |
# 715 8pm
Bulls – 3 The Chicago Bulls seek a season-high sixth straight win when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night. The current surge has placed the Bulls two games up on Brooklyn in the race for fourth place in the Eastern Conference and tied with third-place Toronto with five games to play. Chicago should be rather fresh, too, as it has not played since a 96-78 win at Washington on Saturday. The Bulls have won four straight in Minnesota and three in a row on the road overall. Chicago has put forth some vintage defensive efforts of late, holding 12 of its last 13 opponents under 100 points and giving up an average of 88.4 during the five-game run. The Bulls get the road win here. |

# 507 6pm
Mavs – 7.5 The Dallas Mavericks' margin for error is razor-thin as they head to Sacramento to face the lowly Kings on Sunday. The Mavericks sit seventh in the Western Conference, but they're just a half-game ahead of Memphis and Phoenix in a wild race for the final two playoff spots. Dallas has won four straight on the road. The Mavericks have won 17 of the past 19 meetings including two of three this season. Dallas has opened a key four-game road swing with back-to-back wins over the Clippers and Lakers in Los Angeles and has a good shot at a perfect trip with games at Sacramento and Utah remaining. The Mavericks might need to finish the flawless swing to hang onto a playoff spot, too, because they have play San Antonio, Phoenix and Memphis in their final three contests. Nowitzki has carried the Mavericks lately, scoring 20 or more points in five of the last six games. This spread is a little inflated but I’m willing to lay it with the Mavs. |

# 527 10:30pm
Mavs – 8 The Dallas Mavericks have inched ahead into the seventh position of the Western Conference race and have a solid chance to stay there when they visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Dallas made 14 3-pointers while posting a 113-107 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday to move a half-game ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns. Lakers center Pau Gasol (vertigo) will sit out for the fifth time in six games and might be done for the season. The injury-riddled Lakers are ahead of only the lowly Utah Jazz when it comes to the Western Conference standings. Forward Dirk Nowitzki made sure Dallas didn’t miss out on the opportunity to move into seventh place by producing 26 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over the Clippers. Nowitzki drained four 3-pointers, including two during a 10-0 surge. Dallas scores in bunches here vs. the worst defense in the NBA. |

04-04-14 | Oklahoma City Thunder v. Houston Rockets OVER 212 | Top | 107-111 | Win | 100 | 8 h 1 m | Show |
# 521 9:30pm
OKC/Houston OVER 212 The Oklahoma City Thunder made a statement and kept themselves in the race for the top spot in the Western Conference by knocking off the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday. The Thunder will attempt to carry that momentum into the second night of a back-to-back when they visit the Houston Rockets on Friday. The Thunder still will have Kevin Durant, who is aiming to tie Michael Jordan with his 40th straight outing of 25 or more points. The Rockets, who have dropped three straight, have a few players of their own that are capable of putting up gaudy point totals and might perform better in this meeting with Westbrook and Patrick Beverley (knee) both due to watch from the bench. The over is 6-2 in Thunder last 8 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The over is 5-0 in Rockets last 5 home games. |
