04-04-22 | North Carolina v. Kansas -4 | 69-72 | Loss | -110 | 39 h 0 m | Show
DMack's UNC/Kansas National Championship Super Play winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks We were easy winners with Kansas over Villanova and look to the Rock Shocks to seal the deal here. Very similar situation to last year where we saw Baylor win first semi in a walk and then watched Gonzaga and UCLA battle it out in an OT instant classis. Baylor to surprisingly spanked the Zags on Monday night. Saturday, Kansas got out to 10-0 and 38-19 leads over Villanova and cruised. North Carolina was down to Duke at the half and was life and death to send arch rival Devils and Coach K to the shower. Kansas has been on a mission and gets it done here. |
04-02-22 | Villanova v. Kansas -4 | 65-81 | Win | 100 | 19 h 19 m | Show
DMACK's VILLANOVA/KANSAS FINAL FOUR SUPER PLAY is on the Kansas Jayhawks Villanova has gone seven deep all year and the Wildcats received an unfortunate death blow in the Elite Eight when two way guard and second leading scorer Justin Moore went down with torn Achilles tendon. The Wildcats have nowhere to go to replace that (14.8, 4.8, 4.3) stat line against a bigger, more physical and deeper Kansas. The Jayhawks, the last one-seed left, have now won nine straight and in our opinion haven't even played a complete game yet. Rock Chalk should really have it's eye on the prize at this point as this team was picked early on to be in exactly the spot they are in here. Kansas is past their biggest hump, Self was 3-8 in the Elite Eight before crushing Miami with big second half. Kansas needs only to keep it's composure, not get into foul trouble, and shoot halfway decent and grind this Nova team down and win by ten. |
04-01-22 | Fresno State -2.5 v. Coastal Carolina | 85-74 | Win | 100 | 18 h 42 m | Show
DMACK'S FRESNO/COASTAL BASKETBALL CLASSIC FINAL SUPER PLAY winner is on the Fresno State Bulldogs Fresno State reminds you of a team from the 50s, walk it up, work it around for a shot, control the offensive and defensive boards, and play defense. The Bulldogs are tough and physical and it works. Coastal Carolina is similar to Fresno State in many ways but here's the difference .... the Chants are 19-13 and just 6-4 outside the Sunbelt vs. D-I opponents playing the No.224 schedule in the country. Fresno State went 12-3 outside the Mountain West playing the No.124 strength of schedule in the country. This is going to be slow down defensive game in the 50s or low 60s. Fresno State 65-57. |
03-31-22 | Xavier +4.5 v. Texas A&M | 73-72 | Win | 100 | 20 h 34 m | Show
DMACK'S XAVIER/TEX A&M NIT FINAL SUPER PLAY winner is on the Xavier Musketeers Texas A&M is 12-1 L13 and the team in the tournament with a chip in it's shoulder for getting left out of the big dance. The Aggies are playing great defense with the strange dichotomy of being No.8 in offensive rebounding but No.340 in defensive rebounding. Xavier is the team in the tournament on a mission winning all four of their games handily and after closing their Big East schedule 2-8. The Muskies are averaging better than 75 ppg. and figure to do some business here. Xavier is 14-1 outside the Big East and with an extra four points, get a solid call here. |
03-28-22 | Southern Utah +8 v. Fresno State | 48-67 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 4 m | Show
DMACK's BASKETBALL CLASSIC SUPER PLAY winner is on the Southern Utah T-Birds Fresno State plays the 3rd SLOWEST tempo in the country and the Bulldogs prefer playing physical greasy games in the 50s, not very conducive to covering almost double-digit points, especially against a team that can put the ball in the hole like Southern Utah. Both teams are in the Top 16 in the country is defensive rebounding so it figures to be lots of one and done. Fresno hasn't played since last Weds, Southern Utah Tues and Saturday and each spot has pros and cons. Looking for a low scoring game in the high 50s or low 60s and decided by a couple of possessions late. Take Southern Utah. |
03-27-22 | Miami-FL +6 v. Kansas | 50-76 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S MIAMI/KANSAS ELITE EIGHT SUPER PLAY is on the Miami Hurricanes The Jayhawks are the last ONE standing in the tournament but not for lack of trying to go home early. Kansas has not played well and and only the good fortune of softies advancing in their bracket has saved them. The Canes play great defense, rebound the ball well, and have shot 57% from inside the arc in their four games. They've been involved in close games and mind boggling come backs all year. We'll grab the six still knowing the Miami still has a BIG chance to win straight up. |
03-26-22 | Houston -2.5 v. Villanova | 44-50 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S HOUSTON/VILLANOVA ELITE EIGHT SUPER PLAY Villanova is rolling at the right time like they almost always do but the Cats are up against a very good Houston team. The Cougars are big, athletic, physical, talented and deep which gives Kelvin Sampson's bunch a big edge here as Nova basically goes seven deep. Houston rebounds slightly less than 40% of their misses and owns the No.3 FG% defense in the country. Houston by 10. |
03-25-22 | Iowa State v. Miami-FL -3 | 56-70 | Win | 100 | 10 h 27 m | Show
DMack's Friday Sweet 16 Super Play is on the Miami Hurricanes Iowa State has been doing it with smoke and mirrors. The Cyclones have scored 41-59-54 points in their last three games but have gotten by on tenacious defense that has caused turnovers in 24.7% of their opponents possessions. Miami is a gritty team with a gritty coach an their last five games have been decided by four points or less with the Canes often coming from way back to win. Iowa State is just 10-10 versus teams in the top 50 (Miami No.44) and is 14-0 versus non-conf opponents but the strength of that schedule is No.328 of 358. Clones face to much here. Miami 63-52. |
03-24-22 | Texas Tech -115 v. Duke | 73-78 | Loss | -115 | 13 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS TEXAS TECH/DUKE SWEET 16 SUPER PLAY winner is on the Texas Tech Red Raiders If we're right, this will be the last roundup for Coach K. Duke is 30-6 on Coach K's farewell tour , 16-3 L19 overall but we can't disregard the Blue Devils blowups in K's home finale or in the ACC tournament loss to Virginia Tech. Duke is just 7-8 in this round since 2000. Texas Tech is 27-9 on the year against the No.15 toughest strength of schedule while Duke played the No.64th. The Red Raiders are 11-3 in this tournament the last four years so the Raiders so win and advance. Tech is either pick or -1 depending on the out so we'll just split the difference here and use the moneyline and call the for Texas Tech to win. |
03-23-22 | Washington State v. BYU -1.5 | 77-58 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NIT SUPER PLAY winner is on the BYU Cougars Washington State has gone on a nice run to end the season but the fact remains that the Cougars lost 14 games this year and the last team they played close to this level, they lost by double-digits. Wazzou upset a top-seeded SMU in last and it's time for Cinderella to call it a night. BYU has rolled it's first two NIT opponents and has a long history of playing well in this tournament. Washington State getting a bit to much respect here and BYU is the right side in this Battle of the Cougars. |
03-22-22 | St Bonaventure +3.5 v. Virginia | 52-51 | Win | 100 | 7 h 13 m | Show
DMACK'S TUES BONNIE/UVa NIT SUPER PLAY winner is on Saint Bonaventure The Bonnie got off to a very fast start and struggled somewhat on the backend of their A-10 schedule, still finishing 12-5 before losing to St Louis by a point in the A-10 tournament. Bonnie has stepped up to this point in the NIT, dispatching top-seeded Oklahoma after stopping a good Colorado team in their opener. Virginia does not have a lot of offense and we see a close, low-scoring game decided in the final 60 second so the points in this case are not insignificant. Saint Bonaventure 58-55. |
03-20-22 | Texas v. Purdue -3 | 71-81 | Win | 100 | 15 h 24 m | Show
DMACK'S TEXAS/PURDUE LATE SHOW SUPER PLAY winner is on the Purdue Boilermakers Texas had lost three straight prior to first round over Virginia Tech, this first win in the first round of the Big Dance is six years. The Longhorns needed an unconscious 10-19 from downtown to beat the Hokies and a follow up performance is not likely. Purdue is 25-0 when it scores 70 points or more and 3-7 when it doesn't. That doesn't figure to be a problem here with an offense that is No.3 in the country in FG% made. See this as an up and down affair with Purdue winning by 8-10 in the end. |
03-19-22 | Memphis v. Gonzaga -10 | 78-82 | Loss | -104 | 19 h 12 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT ROUND OF 32 BIG DANCE GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on Gonzaga Memphis and Gonzaga are similar in may ways but in the end, the Zags are the substantially better team. Penny Hardaway has don a nice job at Memphis considering all the garbage he's been through and for the most part, gets some pretty good talented athletes. That said, this version of the Tigers turns the ball over almost 23% of their possessions and that just won't work against the No.1 FG% defense in the country and a team that makes 60.8% of its shots inside the arc. The Zags hadn't played in eight days prior to their first round game so we'll give them a mulligan for their first round game, as if they needed it scoring 58 points in the second half. Memphis has been beaten by margin versus Houston and other teams so it won't be a fluke here. Gonzaga 78-60. |
03-19-22 | Rice v. Ohio -5.5 | 64-65 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 18 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT RICE/OHIO CBI SUPER PLAY winner is on the Ohio Bobcats Rice is building for next year by getting some experience here. The Owls were 16-16 overall, 7-11 in Conference USA and most importantly just 4-8 in true road games. Ohio finished 24-9 and 14-6 in the MAC. The games is being played in Daytona Beach so it's a neutral site where the big physical Bobcat front court should be able to do some business Ohio can score and are better than average on defense, especially against this kind. Ohio 68-57. |
03-18-22 | Colgate v. Wisconsin -7.5 | 60-67 | Loss | -110 | 43 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S FRI ROUND OF 64 LATE SHOW BAILOUT winner is on the Wisconsin Badgers Colgate has won 15 straight games but beating up Patriot League opposition doesn't win you any points here. In fact, the Raiders went 4-9 outside the the Patriot and face a big physical Badger team here that is tough on the defensive boards and pounds the ball inside. Wisky was 24-7 this year versus the No.19 toughest schedule in the country and get the perfect confidence builder here after dropping their final two Big Ten games (Nebraska and Michigan State). The Badgers have had a week to sort things out and beat up Colgate here. |
03-18-22 | Virginia Tech +1.5 v. Texas | 73-81 | Loss | -115 | 37 h 20 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Virginia Tech Hokies The Longhorns limped in here losing their L3 games and averaging just 61 points per game. Texas has a ton of talent but hasn't been able to find much consistency for any length of time. The Hokies found themselves after the first of the year and their demolition of Duke in the ACC championship game was not a fluke. V Tech closed ACC on a 13-2 run and their wing players are just snipers from the outside burying 39.7% of their threes (No.3) and will do some damage here. The Gobblers straight up by 8-10. |
03-18-22 | Miami-FL v. USC -1.5 | 68-66 | Loss | -110 | 40 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S ROUND OF 64 GAME OF THE YEAR winner is the USC Trojans Miami has had a nice year for veteran for Jim Larranaga but the Hurricanes are one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the tournament and there were only four team of the 358 Division-I teams that used their bench LESS than the Canes. Over the last four national tournaments, ACC teams are 7-23 in the first round. USC has lost three of its last four but they were to UCLA twice and Arizona. The Trojans are the No.6 best offensive rebounding team in country snagging better than 33.8% of it's misses and are No.2 defensively versus teams inside the arc. Pac 12 teams are 7-0 ATS in this round over the last two years and will be tough to beat here. USC is our Round of 64 Game of the Year. |
03-18-22 | Yale v. Purdue -15.5 | 56-78 | Win | 100 | 35 h 38 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Purdue Boilermakers Despite winning the Ivy this year, this Yale outfit is not as good as some of the Eli teams from even five years ago. The Bulldogs were 0-5 against Top 100 teams and check out these losses .... 36 to Seton Hall, 22 to Auburn, 27 to St Mary's. Purdue is very big and a load in the paint. The Boilers were No.4 in the country in FG% made and are a perfect 24-0 when they score 70+ points. Purdue will score 70+ here and easily cover this double-digit number. |
03-18-22 | Loyola-Chicago +1 v. Ohio State | 41-54 | Loss | -115 | 33 h 33 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers Ohio State lost four of five down the stretch and looked to be completely out of sync. The Buckeyes don't play much defense inside and today face a disciplined and deliberate Loyola team that is No.7 in the country in FG% made. What the Ramblers lack in talent and athleticism, they make up with smarts, awareness, and coaching and they have 102-year-old Super Fan Sister Jean. Chicago-Loyola moves on. |
03-17-22 | Texas Southern v. Kansas -21.5 | 56-83 | Win | 100 | 23 h 21 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks The Southern Tigers started the year 0-7 in non-conference play and went 14-2 down the stretch in a VERY weak conference. If you watched the "Play-In" game, you saw the poor quality of play and Southern was down most of the way against Corpus Christi. Kansas has won five straight against good Big 12 teams and can win by 40 if they want. Kansas is 4-1-1 in their L6 first round games against teams like this. Kansas 94-57. |
03-17-22 | Akron v. UCLA -13.5 | 53-57 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 16 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS BIG DANCE LATE SHOW BAIL OUT winner is on the UCLA BRUINS On face this probably looks like a lot of points. Looking closer, we find the Zips starting the year as the 321st most experienced team in Division-I t at the start of the year. Akron's chief form of offense is getting to the foul line. This Akron's first appearance on this stage since 2013. This is where UCLA ramped things up last year for a big run. Pac12 teams are 7-0 ATS in this round the last two years and UCLA has made the Sweet 16 in four of their last five tournaments. The Bruins went 8-2 down the stretch with both losses to Arizona, giving the Wildcats all they wanted in the Pac12 final. This is an all-in tournament for UCLA and you will see their best from here on out. UCLA by 20. |
03-17-22 | Marquette v. North Carolina -3.5 | 63-95 | Win | 100 | 17 h 13 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the North Carolina Tar Heels Marquette is getting a whole lot of respect for a team that went 4-6 in their L10 down the stretch and lost 12 games overall this year. The North Carolina that beat Duke in Coach K's final home game than the Duke blowout the first time around. Shaka Smart is 0-5 in the first round since 2014 after a big run with VCU. Big East teams are also 6-13-1 L20 in this round. Since 2000, UNC is 17-1 in this round and is CLEARLY the better team here. North Carolina wins by double-digits. |
03-17-22 | Norfolk State v. Baylor -20.5 | 49-85 | Win | 100 | 15 h 36 m | Show
DMack Round of 64 Winner on the Baylor Bears The defending champs will be looking to start their defense in a big way. They get the perfect touch here tonight in Norfolk State. The Bears played six games against teams outside the Ken Palm 150 (Norfolk No.168) and Baylor went 6-0 winning all six by 29+ points. The Spartans have played two top 100 teams and lost by 40 to Xavier and by 13 to Wichita State. Baylor won't abuse their starters but the reserves could probably win by 20. Baylor rolls. |
03-16-22 | Notre Dame v. Rutgers +1.5 | 89-87 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 56 m | Show
DMACK'S NOTRE DAME/RUTGERS SUPER PLAY is on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Neither team has played all that well of late which is why they've been relegated to a "Play-In" game. Rutgers went on a six-game winning streak in early February but finished 2-4 losing a number of close games down the stretch. Notre Dame split it's L6 but that was still good enough to finish third in a VERY down year in the ACC. This is Notre Dame's first trip to The Dance in five years. Rutgers won a game last in it's first Dance since 1991. Since 2015, Big Ten teams are 32-11 straight up in the first round and as we all know, guard play wins this time of year. The Knights will have the best player on the floor in Ron Harper Jr. Rutgers 68-62. |
03-16-22 | Bryant +3.5 v. Wright State | 82-93 | Loss | -105 | 38 h 41 m | Show
DMACK'S BRYANT/WRIGHT STATE PLAY-IN SUPER PLAY winner is on the Bryant Bulldogs Anyone left at this stage is playing well, Wright State (21-13) has won five straight as they ran through the Horizon tournament. Bryant (22-9) has won 16 of 17 and granted the Bulldogs have been beating up a very weak Northeast Conference, they are not at all outmanned by the Wright State Raiders. Horizon League teams are 0-9 in the last nine years in the first round games of the Dance but never as a 16-seed. That said, we have an ultra-confident Bulldog team that has been rolling through their own kind. Wright State No.182 on Ken Palm, Bryant No.183. Bryant straight up here and we have three-points plus in our pocket. |
03-15-22 | Texas A&M Corpus Christi v. Texas Southern -3 | 67-76 | Win | 100 | 33 h 10 m | Show
DMACK'S DON'T CALL ME A PLAY-IN GAME SUPER PLAY WINNER is on Texas Southern This is a very strange game to handicap as we have two teams from the two lowest ranked conferences in Div-I, both with double-digit losses and having played the No.1 and No. 39 EASIEST schedules among 358 board teams in Division-I. There has already been a pretty substantial move on Southern right off the Git Go. I agree and this is why. The Tigers started the year as the No.3 most experienced team in the country based on returning starts. Southern accounted for the most bench minutes of any team in the country which tells me the returning starters were not very good at best. The two seem to meld in conference play with the Tigers going 13-2 down the stretch and checking in at No.13 in the country in FG% defense. Corpus Christi went 7-1 down the stretch but was 10-7 in the Southland where the Islanders finished fourth. Like Southern to win this buy double-digits |
03-13-22 | Richmond v. Davidson -3.5 | 64-62 | Loss | -110 | 3 h 40 m | Show
DMACK'S A-10 CONF CHAMPIONSHIP SUPER PLAY WINNER is on the DAVIDSON WILDCATS This is simply a question of spot. Richmond has played the last three nights to get here and was down last night by 13 with 11 minutes left. The Spiders star player (Gilyard) has played 40 minutes plus in six straight games and there can't be much in the tank. Davidson is 25-5 overall, 17-3 in the A-10 and got here in a walk winning their games by 15 and 18 points respectively. The Bobcats have won seven of eight and beat Richmond 87-84 at Richmond in early January. Davidson not surprisingly is No.7 in the country shooting threes and really has no excuse not to win by double-digits here. |
03-12-22 | CS-Fullerton v. Long Beach State -120 | 72-71 | Loss | -120 | 14 h 23 m | Show
DMACK'S FULLERTON/LONG BEACH BIG WEST BAIL OUT winner is on Long Beach State This No.1 vs No.2 all year so these two are the class of the Big West and have been so all year. Long Beach State has won 16 of 18 overall and have been finding ways to win all year. The Beach is led by a senior transfer from Tulane (Slater) who had 30 of their 67 points last night and got the Niners through a 7-0 run in the final 90 seconds to beat Santa Barbara. Fullerton is a decent team that has played great defense. They weren't able to stop LBSU is their only meeting this year, a 71-64 LBSU home win February 8th. Game is pick'em/one so grabbing the 20 cent money line to just win the game. Long Beach State is the play. |
03-12-22 | UCLA +2 v. Arizona | 76-84 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 7 m | Show
DMACK's UCLA/ARIZONA PAC 12 CHAMP SUPER PLAY winner is on the UCLA Bruins It was about this time last year that a UCLA team that probably would have gone to the NIT, went on a big run that took them to the Final Four. This year the Bruins brought back just about everyone and surprised nobody. UCLA got smoked by Gonzaga in the opener and seemed to battle minor injuries and cruise through conference play until this tournament where they've been the best of the West and seemed prime for another deep run. Arizona has been good as well but I think this new regime has really overachieved and is not capable of winning six straight games the next three weeks. Teams split home games during the year but UCLA gets it done here. |
03-11-22 | Connecticut v. Villanova -2 | 60-63 | Win | 100 | 8 h 19 m | Show
DMACK SELECTION FRIDAY 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the Villanova Wildcats We lost with Nova last night as the Cats played as poorly as you can and still win. The Wildcats were 17 down in the second half to St Johns but still came back to win 66-65. Jay Wright teams usually excel at this time of year and Nova is 12-4 in this tournament the last five years and have won eight of nine overall. Nova knows they were lucky to escape last night so looking for a completely focused team show up tonight. |
03-10-22 | Washington v. USC -6 | 61-65 | Loss | -109 | 12 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S WASHINGTON/USC BAIL OUT SPECIAL winner is on the USC Trojans The Huskies are a .500 Pac12 team that has done it's best work on it's home court. USC is off B2B losses to all people, Arizona and UCLA, each team playing arguably their best games of the 2022 season. The Trojans get their confidence back here versus a team that they beat by 10 in their only meeting during the season. USC just locked up Trojan HC Andy Enfield on an extension. USC is going to be a tough out in the Big Dance and you'll see exactly why here. USC 84-67. |
03-10-22 | St. John's v. Villanova -6.5 | 65-66 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 56 m | Show
DMACK'S THURS BIG BALLER BEAT DOWN winner is on the Villanova Wildcats Villanova has won seven of eight and as we all know, this is time that Jay Wight shines. The Wildcats are an experienced veteran bunch that uses it's bench sparingly. The beat St John's twice during the year by 6 and 11 points. Over the last five years, Villanova is 11-2 in this tournament and figures to put the Johnnies down in routine fashion here. Nova 84-70. |
03-10-22 | West Virginia v. Kansas -9.5 | 63-87 | Win | 100 | 4 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S SELECTION THURSDAY MATNEE MAULER winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks Kansas has done everything it could do to play themselves out of a one-seed. That said, they can get back in the mix by winning the Big 12 tournament where they will likely face Baylor down the line. West Virginia is 16-16 for Huggie and needs a win here for any shot at the post-season. Kansas is not a good matchup for the Mounties who were swept in the season series 85-59 and 71-58. Expect Self to turn his troop loose on WVU to try and get some MOJO working. |
03-09-22 | Minnesota v. Penn State -3 | 51-60 | Win | 100 | 10 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS COLLEGE HOOP PLAY OF THE DAY winner is on the Penn State Nittany Lions Minnesota has lost four straight and 15 of their L18. The Gophers really look like they've mailed it in and it showed in their final two games, double-digit road losses at Maryland and Northwestern. Not good! Penn State wasn't up to the rigors of the Big Ten this year nut the its do play hard every night as evidenced by losing four of their last five but covering eight of their L10. The Nits started the year as the 11th most experienced team by number of starts so you have a veteran team that beat Minnesota 67-46 in Happy Valley back on February 19th. Penn State rallies for a win here before getting sent home early tomorrow. |
03-08-22 | Quinnipiac v. Marist -2.5 | 77-52 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 51 m | Show
DMACK'S MAAC CONF TOURNAMENT GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on Marist Neither team is very good but in this matchup, we fing two teams on the opposite ends of form sprees and a team that can get a huge monkey off it's back. Quinnipiac has pretty much quit and will be happy to turn in their gear and have the weekend off. The Bobcats have lost six straight, and nine of ten. Marist has won six of eight primarily on Foxes having the second best shooting percentage in the 11 team Metro Atlantic. Marist has lost six straight in this round of the tournament and the Foxes have some momentum going here to find out what it's like to move on. Marist 70-59. |
03-07-22 | South Dakota v. South Dakota State -7.5 | 60-83 | Win | 100 | 10 h 7 m | Show
DMACK'S SUMMIT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT GAME OF THE YEAR winner is on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits The Jacks have gone through conference play at 19-0 and beat their cross-state rival twice by double-digits, 19 and 10. State is a team of all wing players that can shoot the lights out. They're first in the country behind the arc at 44.3% and this has been their M.O. for several years. Win b the three and die by the three as evidenced by the Jacks not having won this tournament since 2018. The Coyotes have been playing well but they've played the No.304 toughest schedule in Div-I and just don't have the chops to win here. Lay it. |
03-07-22 | Delaware v. Towson -6 | 69-56 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 19 m | Show
DMACK'S MON COLLEGE HOOPS EARLY BULLET is on Towson State This is a CAA tournament neutral court game in Washington D.C. both teams played yesterday, and both teams were hard used due to early deficits. That said, Towson has won seven straight with a quick stingy defense and relentless offensive rebounding (No.9 in the country). The Tigers beat the Blue Hens twice handily during the regular season (7,12) and with Delaware just 1-3 straight up last four and 4-6 L10, their is no form spree indicating the result will be any different here. Towson by 10-14. |
03-06-22 | Iowa +3.5 v. Illinois | 72-74 | Win | 100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG TEN GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Iowa Hawkeyes The Tiger Hawks have really found themselves in the second half of the Big Ten schedule, 8-1 L9, and 6-2 vs. the points. These teams met in early December with Illinois winning 87-83 in Iowa City but these are very different team three months later. Iowa scores a lot of points and face the 21st worst defense in the country vs. offense inside the paint. If Iowa takes care of their defensive boards and hold the Illini to one shot, the Hawkeyes could win this game by double-digits. Iowa straight up. |
03-05-22 | UNLV -3.5 v. New Mexico | 67-76 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 48 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT LATE 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the UNLV Rebels The Rebels are two games away from 20 wins in Kevin Kruger's first season and improving every outing. UNLV would have to win the Mountain West tournament to dance but the NIT is a very real possibility and would be quite an accomplishment considering the recent fortunes of UNLV. New Mexico had a short run but the Lobos are just 1-4 L5 with a win over Air Force which says it all. UNLV by 10. |
03-05-22 | USC +8 v. UCLA | 68-75 | Win | 100 | 16 h 47 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT LATE 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the USC Trojans The Trojans are 25-5 and have won five of six. UCLA has won four of five. Both teams are in The Dance but lets look at the series. USC has won the last five meetings including the last two played here at Pauley Pavilion. The Trojans are supremely coached by Andy Enfield, the same guy that led Florida Gold Coast on it's run a decade ago. To get eight points here is impossible to pass up. |
03-05-22 | St. John's +4.5 v. Marquette | 77-85 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 41 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT LATE 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the St Johns Red Storm Marquette went on an impressive 7-0 run and then finished the season on a 3-5 skid, failing to cover it's last six games. The Eagles are No.311 in defensive rebounding which accounts for a lot of their problems. The Johnnies constant pressure creates turnovers 22% of the time and the Storm is 7-2 ATS L9. Big East home faves of four our less are just 5-9 ATS which doesn't breed much confidence for a play on Marquette. St John's straight up. |
03-05-22 | North Carolina v. Duke -11.5 | 94-81 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 48 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB winner on Duke |
03-05-22 | Miami-FL +2 v. Syracuse | 75-72 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT EARLY 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the Miami Hurricanes Jim Boeheim says he'll be back for his 47th year next year despite a 15-15 mark to this point this year and losing his top three players including both his sons. The Orange would need to win here and win the ACC tournament to a likely NIT big which is not yet guaranteed. They face a Miami team that is playing for a top-four spot and byes in the ACC and plays great on the road where they are 9-2 in conference including a win at Duke. Orange will have to figure it out next week. Miami straight up. |
03-05-22 | Quinnipiac v. Iona -13 | 61-79 | Win | 100 | 14 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT EARLY 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the Iona Gaels Iona won the MAAC regular season by three games bit was far from dominant. The Gaels need no style points and as this conference will not get two bids, it's this easy. Iona must win the tourney to Dance in two weeks. These teams met once in early January with the Petino's winning at the Quinn by 16. The problem with laying this type number is that the starters won't play major minutes and margin is not a concern. The positive is that the Bobcats are No.289 in Division I defense so the Gaels should have little trouble putting the ball in the hole. Iona looks sharp but not too sharp. Call this one Iona 80-59. |
03-05-22 | UL - Lafayette v. Texas State -5 | 79-72 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S SAT EARLY 3-GAME NCAAB POWER PACK winner is on the Texas State Bobcats This is a neutral sit game with the Sunbelt tournament being played in Pensacola. Texas State rampaged through the Sunbelt regular season winning the regular season by three games and sweeping the season series with the Cajuns. Louisiana is what it is, .500 home-away-across the board. The Cats have won nine straight and have not lost in January 27th. They beat ULL by nine three weeks ago and that's about the margin we figure t see here. |
03-04-22 | Loyola Marymount v. BYU -11.5 | 60-85 | Win | 100 | 9 h 27 m | Show
DMACK'S FRI NIGHT COLLEGE HOOPS BAILOUT SPECIAL winner in on the BYU Cougars Loyola is 2-10 L12 with their only wins coming against Pacific. The Lions pnly played seven last night with all playing between 22-30 minutes. BYU has won four of five after dropping five straight. The Cougars are the 20th best defensive rebounding team in the country so it will be one and done for Loyola who will need to shoot the lights out. BYU has won seven straight in the series and swept both games this year winning by 1 and 20. BYU is going to need three wins with style points and then be competitive vs. Gonzaga in the conference final to even get a sniff as an at large team and it all starts here. |
03-04-22 | Illinois State v. Northern Iowa -7.5 | 65-78 | Win | 100 | 4 h 3 m | Show
DMACK'S COLLEGE HOOPS MATINEE MAYHEM winner is on the Northern Iowa Panthers Illinois State returns on less than 24 hours turnaround after life and death win over Indiana State late last night. Nobody on the Redbirds played more than 30 minutes but Ill State is one of the worst repounding teams in the country and their legs will be a concern against the fresh as a daisy Panthers. Northern Iowa has won nine of eleven, covered seven of nine, and swept the season series winning by 15 and 2. See the Panthers rolling here. |
03-03-22 | Fresno State v. San Diego State -8 | 64-65 | Loss | -110 | 14 h 26 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NCAAB 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the San Diego State Aztecs Typical Aztecs who have rounded into form when it counts and plays the great defense. SDSU has won seven of eight and have covered five straight. The Aztecs have won five straight in the series including a 61-44 waxing on February 19th. If the Aztecs shoot the ball have way decent and score 60 points, they win and cover this game easily. San Diego State 65-51. |
03-03-22 | Evansville v. Valparaiso -5.5 | 59-81 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NCAAB 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on Valpo Really like bot Missouri Valley games tonight. Evansville has lost seven straight and just six teams in Division I play worse defense than the Purple Aces. Valpo is not much but their two wins in their last seven were both against Evansville. The teams played a B2B Feb 19-21 with Valpo winning by 16 in the first game and 5 in the second in game they led by double-digits with five minutes left. Valpo has won five of seven in the series and there is no reason to think they won't take care of business here. |
03-03-22 | California v. Arizona State -7 | 44-71 | Win | 100 | 11 h 29 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NCAAB 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Arizona State Sun Devils Arizona State is 5-1 SU and ATS L6 and Hurley has his team rolling. The Sun Devils will also be very cognizant of the 74-50 spanking that Cal gave them on January 2. The Bears are 3-12 L15 and figure to be entering a hornets nest here with a team that is No.266 in FG% in Division One. Arizona State wins by double-digits. |
03-03-22 | Indiana State v. Illinois State -1.5 | 53-58 | Win | 100 | 10 h 24 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NCAAB 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Illinois State Redbirds This is a MVC tourney game in St. Louis. Two teams with similar records, (11-19, 12-19) that split during the regular season. Here's the difference. Illinois State has already fired their coach who will finish the year and has his players have circled the wagons as best they could for him. Indiana State has lost six straight and is 3-13 L16. The Sycs are 2-8 L10 ATS. Illinois State has covered four straight and beat Indiana State 86-66 on Saturday. |
03-03-22 | Illinois-Chicago v. IUPU Ft Wayne -6 | 72-78 | Push | 0 | 10 h 59 m | Show
DMACK'S THURSDAY NCAAB 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Fort Wayne The Mastodons have won nine straight and have covered six straight. Ft. Wayne has also won the last three in the series by 7-33-7. The Flames have won four straight and won their first round matchup with Milwaukee but the Dons are a much higher level. This game is played at a campus site so fully expect Fort Wayne to take care of business here. |
03-02-22 | Wyoming +1.5 v. UNLV | 57-64 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 25 m | Show
DMACK'S WYOMING/UNLV MOUNTAIN WEST BAIL OUT SPECIAL winner is on Wyoming You can't say enough about the job Kevin Kruger has done with the Rebels but at the end of the day, UNLV is a one-man gang offensively. Tonight, the Wyoming Cowboys (23-6, 12-4) come to town and having lost three of five after a 21-3 start. Unbelievably, Wyoming has lost 18 straight series games on this floor so they can get back on track and get a big monkey off their back with a win here. Wyoming has a strong inside game hitting a tic under 56% inside the arc. A win here would go a long way to strengthen the Cowboys for an at large big if they were not to win the Mountain West tournament. Wyoming 72-65. |
03-02-22 | Miami-FL -4 v. Boston College | 81-70 | Win | 100 | 12 h 38 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS ACC CONFERENCE SUPER PLAY winner is on the Miami Hurricanes Boston College is 6-12 in ACC play, 11-17 overall, and 2-6 L8. The Eagles have there moments from time to time bit overall, this is a bottom four ACC team. Miami has been good all year, especially on the the rod where the Canes are 10-2 in true road games, 6-2 in true ACC road games with wins at Duke, Wake, and Clemson. Miami plays an inordinate amount of close games but the key here is much more than not, Miami wins. Four points s ver reasonable here and Miami still has all important ACC tournament seeding at stake. Miami wins this by double-digits, call it, 70-59. |
03-01-22 | NJIT v. Stony Brook -10 | 68-87 | Win | 100 | 9 h 44 m | Show
DMACK'S AMERICA EAST GAME OF THE YEAR winner is the Stony Brook Seawolves NJIT has thrown in the towel. The Highlanders have lost four of five with three of the losses by 21-28-16. Stony Brook is not all that much but the Seawolves are VERY good at home and are in a revenge spot here having lost 65-62 in Newark. This is the last stand at home for Stony Brook who is 12-4 at Island Federal Credit Union Arena and figures to blow out NJIT before heading to Tournament play on the 6th. Stony Brook 77-61. |
02-28-22 | Baylor v. Texas | 68-61 | Win | 100 | 18 h 49 m | Show
DMACK'S BAYLOR/TEXAS BIG 12 MON SUPER PLAY is on the Baylor Bears Both teams are playing well and both teams are locked in with tickets to The Dance. The Bears are 5-1 L6 and the Longhorns 8-3 L11 but one of those losses was an 80-63 spankling by Baylor just three weeks ago. Baylor has won the last games in the series and also their last two visits to Austin by 7 and 14 points. Baylor is a tough matchup for anyone but an especially bad matchup for Texas. |
02-27-22 | Wichita State v. Memphis -9 | 57-81 | Win | 100 | 7 h 5 m | Show
DMACK'S ACC NCAAB GAME OF THE WEEK winner is the Memphis Tigers These are two teams heading in opposite directions. The Shockers have lost three of four and have NOT covered any of their last three road games. Today they roll into Memphis to face a Tiger team that has won seven of eight and covered six of seven. The Tigers biggest problem is turning the ball over which is primarily because Penny goes 8-10 deep in his rotation. Now, with 25 games under their belts and hitting on all cylinders, Memphis is playing it's best ball of the year. Memphis spanked Wichita 82-64 on the Shockers home court knocking down 64% of its shots inside the arc. Memphis gets a second helping here today. |
02-26-22 | Boise State -1 v. UNLV | 86-76 | Win | 100 | 12 h 7 m | Show
DMACK'S BOISE STATE/UNLV MOUNTAIN WEST SUPER PLAY The Broncos are the best in the Mountain West and at 13-2, pretty much have a stranglehold on the top seed for the Mountain West tournament. The Broncos are 4-1 L5 with a loss at Colorado State and includes an 8-point win over UNLV two weeks ago. The Rebels are on the improve and you can't say enough about the jobs that Kevin Kruger has done but the homies are not ready for to punk this verteran Boise State outfit, even on their home court. |
02-25-22 | Appalachian State +2.5 v. Arkansas State | 60-62 | Win | 100 | 14 h 45 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNBELT CONFERENCE GAME OF THE WEEK is on the Appalachian State Mountaineers Arkansas State is 16-10 (7-7) and watching it's season circle the drain fast. The Red Wolves are just 3-6 L9 and 1-5 ATS L6, turn the ball over (306 of 358) and all this against the 262nd toughest schedule in the country. App State 18-12 (12-5) is playing well as they try to run down Texas State for the one-seed. The Mounties approach is simple, they have a veteran team that plays most of the way just walking the ball up. The team is bottom 20 (of 358) in Div-I bench minutes but you get a discipled team that doesn't make mistakes which is good against this kind. App State won the first go around in Boone 71-64 and win straight up here by 6-8. |
02-24-22 | Gonzaga -9.5 v. San Francisco | 89-73 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S WCC GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Gonzaga Bulldogs The Zags have won 16 straight and as usual, walking through the WCC. The Zags are No.1 in the country in offense at 93.8 ppg., shoot 61% from inside the arc, and their margin of victory is 27 ppg. San Francisco has a good team that is one of the few teams in the country that can match up in size with the Zags. That said, they've been a bully that hasn't performed against the better teams. The Dons don't shoot well but have snagged 31% of their misses with their bug front court. In the end, the Zags will impose its will and win as they please. It might be close at the half but when it counts, lets call it 80-60. |
02-24-22 | South Dakota State -3 v. Oral Roberts | 106-102 | Win | 100 | 12 h 6 m | Show
DMACK'S SDSU/ORAL ROBERTS SUPER PLAY winner is on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits The Jackrabbits are 16-0 in conference including an 82-76 home win over Oral Roberts. SDSU is the best perimeter shooting team in the country knocking down 44.1% of their threes. The Jacks have covered four of their last five road games and it looks like their knockdown shooters travel. Oral Bob is 11-3 in its L14 and is also an excellent shooting perimeter team. That said, the Golden Eagles are simply a notch below State as evidenced by their home loss to Western Illinois and a 20-point road loss at North Dakota State. South Dakota State is the Summit League Game of the Year winner, call it 83-70. |
02-23-22 | Wyoming +6.5 v. Colorado State | 55-61 | Win | 100 | 18 h 20 m | Show
DMACK'S WEDS NCAAB BAIL OUT SPECIAL winner is on the Wyoming Cowboys Wyoming has won 13 of 15 games including an 84-78 OT win over Colorado State on Jan 31st. The Cowboys are No.7 in the country in points in the paint and have the size and big people to do it. Colorado State has won five of six but Mountain West home faves of six or less are just 8-14 this year and this is just too many points to lay to a team that struggles to defend what Wyoming does best. Wyoming has a big shot to win this straight up at +220 or better. |
02-23-22 | Syracuse +5.5 v. Notre Dame | 69-79 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 14 m | Show
DMACK WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 3-POWER PACK winner is on the Syracuse Orangemen The Orangemen have won six of seven to get back into the March Madness hunt and history has shown when Boeheim gets in The Dance, anything can happen. Syracuse success has come with a return of their outside touch and the Cuse is now hitting 38% of it's treys, No.14 in the nation. Notre Dame is playing well but ACC home favorites of 5 or less are just 11-26 and this is the type of game could be determined on the final possession. |
02-23-22 | Campbell -6.5 v. Hampton | 66-68 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 12 m | Show
DMACK WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 3-POWER PACK winner is on the Campbell Camels Campbell is a pretty good team in the Big South that just hasn't been able to get by the conference heavyweights. That said, the Camels have a strong and consistent MO of crushing the bottom of the conference. They beat Hampton 75-60 the first time through an despite being 5-7 on the road have won their last two road games against teams with better conference records than what they see tonight. Campbell by 12-15. |
02-23-22 | Wake Forest -2.5 v. Clemson | 69-80 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 7 m | Show
DMACK WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 3-POWER PACK winner is on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons The 21-7 Deacs are VERY GOOD and getting better. Wake is know primarily for their excellent home play but on their last three road games, the Deacs crushed NC State and Florida State and lost 76-74 at Duke. This team can play and is getting better. Clemson has lost five straight and at 12-15, the Tigers are close to playing themselves out of the post-season. This is the only regular season this year and the Deacs roll. Wake 78-63. |
02-22-22 | Villanova +2.5 v. Connecticut | 69-71 | Win | 100 | 12 h 11 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG EAST GAME OF THE WEEK winner is on the Villanova Wildcats The Wildcats have won 14 of 16 games and are hitting their mark at just the right time. Nova struggled somewhat early because of lack of experience and depth. The Cats are No.1 in conference shooting percentage inside the arc and beat UConn 85-74 on their home floor back in January. Big East home teams are 5-11 when favored by three of less. Nova gets the money here. |
02-22-22 | Toledo -12.5 v. Western Michigan | 92-50 | Win | 100 | 11 h 39 m | Show
DMACK'S MID-MAJOR BULLY BEAT DOWN winner is on the Toledo Rockets At 6-21, you don't need me to tell you that Western Michigan is not very good. The Broncos chief problem is that they don't score much and are in fact No.306 in Division I in scoring. They're also No.321 in scoring defense which isn't conducive to success against a team that averages 81 ppg, and is 16th in Div-I in scoring. The 21-6 (13-3) Rockets have been pounding MAC bottom feeders and this about as bottom as it gets. BTW, Dec 29th final was Toledo 83 Western Michigan 56. Right back. |
02-21-22 | Indiana v. Ohio State -6 | 69-80 | Win | 100 | 7 h 35 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG TEN GAME OF THE WEEK winner is the Ohio State Buckeyes The Hoosiers have lost four straight averaging just 59.5 ppg. during that run. Indiana is also just 1-6 on the Big Ten highway and they are going to have a tough go of it here. Oho State has split their last six but should be razor sharp here. Not someone that puts a whol lot of credence in college basketball revenge bot one of Indiana's lone bright spots this year was beating the Buckeyes 67-51 in Bloomington and closing the game out on a 21-6 run. Ohio State will make things right tonight. |
02-20-22 | Mississippi State -4.5 v. Missouri | 58-56 | Loss | -110 | 13 h 57 m | Show
DMACK'S SUNDAY COLLEGE HOOPS BAIL OUT SPECIAL is on the Mississippi State Bulldogs Mississippi State is 2-6 in its L8 and Missouri 2-5 L7 so the SEC is not waiting with bated breath for the result of this one. Things are reported getting a bit hot for Ben Howland who has not been able to follow up his early success with the Bulldogs. He does have some players and Miss State rebounds 32% of its misses. Cuonzo Martin is 76-72 in five years at the Mo and has made the dance twice so it would appear that he's safe with an off year and a team that looks like it has quit. SEC home faves of five or less are just 4-8 and this is a quick turnaround game that that Miss State throttle the Tigers 68-49 in Starkville. |
02-20-22 | Marquette v. Creighton -1.5 | 82-83 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 50 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner in the Creighton Blue Jays Shaka Smart's early magic with his young kids has worn off as Marquette has faded to a middle of the pack Big East team. The Eagles are an awful rebounding team and that's not a great attribute against Creighton snipers. The Blue Jays have won four straight while giving up just 58 ppg. Creighton blew a 17-point second half lead at Marquette in the first meeting before going on to win by five in 2 OTs. Gonna but road team conference and series success in favor of well coached Creighton taking care of business. |
02-20-22 | IUPU Ft Wayne -4 v. Wisc-Milwaukee | 81-71 | Win | 100 | 7 h 52 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner in the IPFW Mastodons Milwaukee is just a bad bad team. The 9-19 Panthers are No.289 in offense and No.209 on defense and have lost two of their last four Horizon League home games by 17 and 36 points. Fort Wayne is playing their best ball of the year winning six straight and routinely dispatched Milwaukee 70-60 on their home court in early January. Just two teams heading in opposite directions on the form chart and see no reason for a deviation here. |
02-20-22 | Wright State -1 v. Detroit | 75-80 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 2 m | Show
DMACK'S SUN COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner in the Wright State Raiders Detroit has split their last six games but Wright State is not a good matchup for the run-and-gun Titans. A whopping 49% of Detroit's offensive shots are threes and Wright State plays pretty good defense against its own kind. In fact, Wright State waxed Detroit 90-57 two weeks ago and have also won nine of ten in the series. The Raiders do their damage in close and Detroit hasn't offered much resistance. Wright State by 10+. |
02-19-22 | Kansas -4.5 v. West Virginia | 71-58 | Win | 100 | 11 h 48 m | Show
DMack's College Hoops Kick Me While I'm Down winner is on the Kansas Jayhawks. It's tough to watch West Virginia these days as Huggie Bear as always been one of our favorite coaches. The Mounties have lost nine of ten, can't shoot, don't play West Virginia style defense and just seem to get run out of most buildings. Kansas is 10-2 L12, 10-2 L12 in this series but just 2-5 in L7 trips to Morgantown. Kansas won 84-59 in Lawrence in January and will likely win by 20 here. Kick 'em while they're up, kick 'em while they're they're down. Kansas 81-63. |
02-19-22 | Kennesaw State v. Jacksonville -5.5 | 56-59 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 6 m | Show
DMack's Mid-Major Can of Whup Ass winner is on the Jacksonville Dolphins Again, don't confuse this Jacksonville with the others that are out there. We used the Dolphins against Stetson on Thursday and came away with a 20-point road win. Jax is white hot now and is a perfect 12-0 at home this year. Best yet is that Kennesaw is just 3-9 on the road and this is a revenge game for the homies who lost the the Owls on the road Jan 24, one of just two Jax losses in 10 games. The Dolphins put the hammer down here, call it 81-66. |
02-19-22 | Auburn -3.5 v. Florida | 62-63 | Loss | -110 | 5 h 19 m | Show
DMack's Saturday College Bully Beatdown winner is on the Auburn Tigers Auburn's interior defense is not all that great but they do so many things well that they are 24-2 against the 27th toughest schedule in the nation and both their losses are in overtime. The Gators have lost two straight coring 55 and 57 and are 0-5 ATS in their L5 games. SEC home dogs of five or less are 4-8 this year and Auburn cruised by 13 the first time these two met. Auburn 74-56 |
02-18-22 | Maryland -1.5 v. Nebraska | 90-74 | Win | 100 | 14 h 36 m | Show
DMack's Friday 3-Game College Hoops Power Pack winner in on Maryland Terps The Huskers are a train wreck at 1-13 in conference. Granted the Huskers are 6-2 ATS in Lincoln home games but that's with the other visitors paying a Nebraska tax. Maryland is 3-11 in Big Ten play but the Terps have been competitive on most nights and will be much improved next year. No tax on the Turtle who are being asked just to win and they've owned the Huskers winning five of the last six and going 3-1 on this floor. Maryland by 10. |
02-18-22 | Rider +7.5 v. Monmouth | 58-60 | Win | 100 | 12 h 46 m | Show
DMack's Friday 3-Game College Hoops Power Pack winner in on Rider Broncos Monmouth has been a ticket burner all year and have split last six games despite rocking the 15th most experienced team in the country at the start of the season. The Hawk are knocking don just 23% of their threes, 12th out of 12 in the MAAC. Rider has won four of five and a healthy 6-1 ATS in seven conference away games. The Broncos aren't prolific shooters either but play excellent defense and we're taking 7.5 in game likely to fall in mid-50s or low-60s. MAAC home faves of 7+ are 5-10 and Monmouth has contributed 2-4 of that. Rider. |

02-18-22 | Marist v. Siena -1 | 62-53 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 43 m | Show
DMack's Friday 3-Game College Hoops Power Pack winner in on Siena Saints Marist is playing it's best ball of the year which is good for us in regards to line value. The Foxes have won three straight averaging 77 ppg. but are up against it here against a better Siena team. Siena won 67-60 at Marist January 14 trailing 50-33 with 12 minutes to play. You can pull that off when you are second in the conference in defense. Siena is 7-1 L8 in the series and 7-0 is the series over the L7 played on this floor. Basically just asking Siena to win .... they will. |

02-17-22 | Creighton +3.5 v. DePaul | 71-59 | Win | 100 | 14 h 39 m | Show
DMack's Thurs NCAAB 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Creighton Blue Jays DePaul is much improved and extremely competitive this year in the Big East but the Blue Demons are still at the point where they just find ways to lose. They don't finish after fast starts and that's a killer all year. Creighton has won three straight and comes off their best offensive performance of the year where all five starters scored in double-digits. The Jays have had some injuries but help is on the way. Creighton dressed just nine in win over Butler in last so Jays will have to be somewhat economical here. Still would have thought Creighton -2 was proper lone but we'll grab points expecting to win straight up. |
02-17-22 | Wichita State v. Cincinnati -2.5 | 76-85 | Win | 100 | 11 h 52 m | Show
DMack's Thurs NCAAB 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Cincinnati Bearcats Not much separates these two from a metrics standpoint. That said, despite winning three of four, the Shockers are a ticket burning 5-10 ATS last 15 including a 61-57 (-3.5) loss to Cincinnati back on January 16th. Cincinnati with a big experience edge and less bench minutes. We'll lay small points with homestanding Bearcats. |
02-17-22 | North Texas -2 v. Florida Atlantic | 54-51 | Win | 100 | 11 h 49 m | Show
DMack's Thurs NCAAB 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the North Texas Mean Green FAU is 7-2 L9 and 6-0 ATS in CUSA home games. That said, the Owls perimeter defense is weak (No.330) and that won't cut it here against a Mean Green outfit that can light it up from outside and does (37.6%, No.27). North Texas has won 10 straight and is just walking through CUSA West. North Texas is 18-4 despite playing a schedule that is 100 places better in Div-I than the 15-10 Owls. North Texas 77-66. |
02-16-22 | Purdue -5.5 v. Northwestern | 70-64 | Win | 100 | 16 h 11 m | Show
DMACK's WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Purdue Boilermakers Northwestern is a feisty bunch that has won three of four but just does not matchup well against the Boilers who seemingly turn it on with big conference second halves every year. Purdue has won ten straight in the series and though some of the games here have been close, Purdue just checks all the boxes. The Boilers won at Lafayette by 20 and averaged 1.33 points per possession in that one. Boilers roll. |
02-16-22 | SMU -4 v. Temple | 57-64 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 26 m | Show
DMACK's WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the SMU Mustangs SMU might be one of the best teams you haven't seen or much heard about. Tim Jankovich's bunch is very talented and well coached an now sits tied with Houston on top of the AAC. Temple is a good team but that's it and that was pointed out in the first meeting between these two when the Stangs won at home in Moody's Gym 69-61. The final is very misleading however as SMU was up big the entire way before the Owls had a run in garbage time. SMU is 6-3 on the road and missing two starters in last road game, beat an East Carolina team that 80-66 on their home floor where they had previously been 9-3. SMU gets the money. |
02-16-22 | Georgetown v. Marquette -12 | 66-77 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 14 m | Show
DMACK's WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 3-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Marquette Golden Eagles Hate to see Patrick Ewing going through this but the 0-13 in the Big East Hoyas are just awful and there is no immediate fix. Marquette has struggled a bit of late against the Big East heavies after a great first half but G-Town is just the slumpbuster you need to restore confidence and right the ship. Marquette won the first round at home 92-64 on January 17th and there seems no reason for Shaka Smart to take his foot off the pedal here. Marquette 80-60. |
02-16-22 | Illinois v. Rutgers +4.5 | 59-70 | Win | 100 | 14 h 13 m | Show
DMACK's WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Both teams are 5-1 last six but Illinois is still battling injuries and seems to be doing it with smoke and mirrors more often than not. The Scarlet Knights have been riding Ron Harper Jr. and are playing their best ball of the year. Rutgers record is a bit deceiving as they've played the ninth toughest schedule in the country to this point. The Knights are 6-1 ATS on their home floor, battle tested, and have a big shot to win straight up. |
02-16-22 | Jacksonville -2 v. Stetson | 67-45 | Win | 100 | 14 h 51 m | Show
DMACK's WEDS COLLEGE HOOPS 5-GAME POWER PACK winner is on the Jacksonville Dolphins The likeable Hatters have their moments but in the grand scheme of things, they're a bottom half Atlantic Sun team that generally doesn't fare well against better teams or even the to half of the Sun. The Jacksonville Dolphins (don't confuse with the other Jax teams) are 16-8 by virtue of a 12-0 home court but the Dolphins are on current 5-1 run now against this kind and beat Stetson 58-50 at home in January the first time around. The Dolphins play elite defense for team like this and that keeps them in every game. It won't be pretty or a start to finish spanking but ultimately another eight point win works here. |
02-15-22 | Texas -1 v. Oklahoma | 80-78 | Win | 100 | 8 h 13 m | Show
DMack's NCAAB Big 12 Conference Game of the Week winner in on the Texas Longhorns Two teams headed in opposite directions. The Longhorns have won five of seven and are just starting to round into the type of form we've expected. The team is just starting to buy into Chris Beard's schemes and figures to be getting better every game down the line. Hugely talented. Oklahoma has lost eight of ten and only 20 teams out of 358 in Div-I turn it over more than the Sooners. Texas won by 13 at Austin and has won their last two trips to this building. Texas 70-58. |
02-14-22 | Southern Utah +1.5 v. Northern Colorado | 95-100 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 4 m | Show
DMACK'S BIG SKY CONFERENCE GAME OF THE MONTH winner is on the Southern Utah Thunderbirds Wrong team favored here. Can't tell you what a great job Todd Simon (ex-UNLV) has done resurrecting this program. The T-Birds have won 14 of 18 and face a Northern Colorado team that just 1-4-1 in their conference home games. The Bears are a run and gu outfit playing a team that can get up and down itself and are the No.18 best team in the nation on the defensive boards. Add to the mix that Big Sky homies favored by three or less are just 5-9 and that Southern Utah can get a monkey off it's back here and we'll roll with a very live dog here. |
02-12-22 | St. Mary's v. Gonzaga -15.5 | 58-74 | Win | 100 | 16 h 50 m | Show
DMack's West Coast Conference Game of the Month winner is on the Gonzaga Bulldogs Good game, St Mary's 8-1 L9 and the Zags have won 13 straight. That said, it's same 'ole, same 'ole in the West Coast Conference with Gonzaga blowing everyone on (7-0-2 ATS L9) laying the big big points so even paying the Zag tax, you've made money betting Gonzaga. St Mary's primary strength is rebounding but they meet a bigger and more physical team today on the road. St Mary's has lost their last three visits to this gym by 48, 10, and 22 and the Gaels are just 2-13 L15 in the series. First meeting this year and the Zags put the hammer down. |
02-12-22 | Arkansas +5.5 v. Alabama | 67-68 | Win | 100 | 8 h 37 m | Show
DMack's Super Saturday College Hoops First Blood winner is the Arkansas Razorbacks Two teams in in opposite form. Bama is 2-3 in L5 and 2-8 ATS L10. Arkansas has won nine straight game and that includes an overtime win over No.1 Auburn during the week. Both teams shoot the ball well but the Razors as much better on the defensive end and on the boards and that will be the difference. Supremely coached by Eric Musselman who will make it crystal clear that a loss here would undo all the good work done over the last 30 days. Five and a half juicy points in a game Arkansas will win straight up. |
02-11-22 | Rider +8.5 v. St. Peter's | 58-49 | Win | 100 | 14 h 18 m | Show
DMACK'S MAAC CONF GAME OF THE MONTH winner is the Rider Broncos Not much separates these two teams, certainly not 8.5 points worth. This not a fade of St Peters by any means as the Peacocks have won eight of ten and have a very deep bench. That said, Rider is a veteran outfit that has won four of five, is 5-1 ATS as a MAAC road dog, and is in revenge spot having lost 57-51 to St Pete back in early January when the Broncos shot just 31% for the game. Looking for Rider to play it's best game of the year here and possibly take St Pete down straight up. |
02-10-22 | Texas State +1.5 v. UL - Lafayette | 82-73 | Win | 100 | 16 h 4 m | Show
DMack Thurs College Hoop Power Pack winner is on the Texas State The Ragin Cajuns are not much and have lost six of eight overall and three of four at home. Texas State is a veteran bunch with a ton of experience that shoots the ball well and is second in conference from beyond the arc. The Cats pressure a Cajun team that turns it over a tic under one of every four possessions. Texas State straight up by 8-10. |
02-10-22 | Hofstra +1.5 v. Drexel | 83-73 | Win | 100 | 15 h 17 m | Show
DMack Thurs College Hoop Power Pack winner is on the Hofstra Pride Hofstra is playing its best basketball of the year and has to be supremely confident here off hard fought win against a very good Wilmington team that has won 14 of 15 coming in. The Pride has split six conf road games but looking for a a big effort here. Hofstra won 71-68 at home first time around hence line value. The Pride has won nine straight in the series and can't stress enough Hofstra in excellent form. |
02-10-22 | IUPU-Indianapolis v. IUPU Ft Wayne -19.5 | 57-72 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 31 m | Show
DMack Thurs College Hoop Power Pack winner is on the Fort Wayne Mastodons IUPUI is a train wreck, so much so that they had an open call in their intramural leagues looking for anyone as the Jaguars are short of players. Fort Wayne is middle of the road Horizon but very good at home. In fact, the Mastodons last four conference home wins have been by double-digits, two by 20+. No reason for Fort Wayne to take their foot off the pedal here. |
02-09-22 | Missouri State +3 v. Drake | 66-62 | Win | 100 | 10 h 47 m | Show
DMack's Weds Night College Hoops Dog Bite winner is on the Missouri State Bears Very little separates these two who are locked in the 3-4 spots in the Missouri Valley Conference. Drake has been doing it with smoke and mirrors. The Bulldogs have played a number of close games including three of their last five in overtime. Missouri State is battle tested having played the No.6 toughest schedule in the country and the Bears can put it in the hole with the No.21 best field goal percentage in Div-I. Mo State won the first go around by six in Springfield and travel well. Expect a close defensive game in the 50s or low 60s with Missouri State winning straight up.  |
02-08-22 | Ohio v. Toledo -3 | 62-77 | Win | 100 | 9 h 4 m | Show
DMack's Weds College Hoops 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Toledo Rockets The Ohio Bobcats are a good team but their 19-3 record is a bit misleading as they've played the 306th toughest schedule in Div-I. Ohio is 14-1 in its L15 games with the only loss by 18 at home to TOLEDO! The run-and-gun Rockets are a tough matchup for anyone in the MAC as evidenced by their 5-0 ATS home record. Toledo by 8-10. |
02-08-22 | Auburn -2 v. Arkansas | 76-80 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 55 m | Show
DMack Weds 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Auburn Tigers Great SEC game featuring two very good teams and two elite college basketball coaches in Bruce Pearl and Eric Musselman. Arkansas is always right there but just hasn't found a way to win big games. Auburn is 22-1, has won nine straight to grab No.1, and got look ahead clunker out of the way against Georgia in most recent. Auburn 68-60. |
02-08-22 | Lipscomb v. Liberty -14 | 69-78 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 48 m | Show
DMack Weds 3-Game Power Pack winner is on the Liberty Flames Liberty has walked through the A-Sun with the only blip on the screen a poor shooting night at Jacksonville State. The Flames crush people and five of their last six conference wins are bu double-digits. Lipscomb is just 2-10 on the road in all games this year and just don't figure at all here. Liberty 82-59. |
02-07-22 | Arizona -13 v. Arizona State | 91-79 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 39 m | Show
DMack's Monday Pac12 Super Play winner is on the Arizona Wildcats Arizona is VERY VERY good and other than an early loss and a game at UCLA where the Cats couldn't hit water from the end of a dock, have beaten up just about everyone else. Down year for Arizona State and Bobby Hurley but the Sun Devils are off a triple-OT win over UCLA that will be the highlight of their season before facing their in-state rivals with a chip on their shoulders. Arizona State has the 14th WORST shooting team out of 358 and won't likely have legs in a game under any circumstances that they would have to be near perfect to have any chance to win. Arizona could and should win this by 20+.  |
02-07-22 | NC-Wilmington +7.5 v. Hofstra | 71-73 | Win | 100 | 12 h 51 m | Show
DMack's Colonial Conference Game of the Week winner is on NC Wilmington Two experienced team square off here in a rematch of a 78-69 UNCW win nine days ago. Hofstra led that game 22-7 early but the Seahawks wore the Pride down to pull away late. That's what Wilmington does and the Seahawks have won 13 of it's L14 games are is 12-3 in games decided by eight or less points. CAA home favorites of seven points or more are an incredible 0-14 this year showing the parity throughout the conference top to bottom. The 16-6 (10-1) Seahawks might merit being small dogs here to the 14-9 (6-4) Pride but not 7 1/2 point worth. A dog with a big shot to win straight up and get several monkeys off their back. |
