Let’s take a look in Ray Monohan’s Week 2 NFL Power Rankings.
1. Green Bay Packers (1-0)
– Last Week: 4
There’s something to be said about starting the season off against a tough opponent. The Packers have been guilty of starting slow in recent years, but this time around there’s no reason to worry about this team not being prepared for the start of the season.
The Packers looked dominant in their win over a very good Seahawks team, even if they did get a little help from the officials.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers (1-0)
– Last Week: 3
It would have been nice to have seen the Steelers have an easier time with the Cleveland Browns, but a road win inside the division is nothing to sneeze at.

The team has a plethora of offensive weapons and can seemingly score whenever they feel like it, moving up and down the field with ease even in a game in which Le’Veon Bell didn’t do a whole lot.
3. New England Patriots (0-1)
– Last Week: 1
The Patriots are 0-1, but it’s tough to knock them down too far knowing what’s ahead. These are, after all, power rankings, and not the NFL standings.
An 0-2 start may change things, but the Patriots have the same roster they did a week ago, and just as importantly, the same coaching staff. If Rob Gronkowski’s first half touchdown stood, the Pats would have won in a rout. They’ll bounce back.
4. Oakland Raiders (1-0)
– Last Week: 6
The Raiders made it look easy, but there was really nothing easy about going to Tennessee and beating a good Titans squad.
There’s a lot to like about Oakland this year, and if Derek Carr can stay on the field come January, the Raiders will be a team no one wants to face come playoff time.
5. Dallas Cowboys (1-0)
– Last Week: 8
At some point the Cowboys might lose Ezekiel Elliott for a month and a half, but right now, it looks like they’ll be able to keep him on the field for the foreseeable future.

We can re-evaluate their chances should he leave the picture at some point, but for now, Dallas is looking every bit the top-two team in the NFC they were a year ago.
6. Atlanta Falcons (1-0)
– Last Week: 7
The Falcons don’t get enough credit for how well their offensive line plays. It feels at times like Matt Ryan has all day to throw. Their season opening win could have been better. Chicago lost that game as much as Atlanta won it.
But that’s the point – that’s the kind of game the Falcons used to lose. Now they win them.
7. Kansas City Chiefs (1-0)
– Last Week: 9
The Chiefs picked up the biggest win of Week 1, shocking the Patriots in Foxborough in the season-opening game. The Chiefs have had trouble taking the step up in class against quality opponents, so they certainly silenced some critics.
But it’s tough to imagine them playing that well again any time soon. We probably saw the best game of Kareem Hunt’s career on Thursday night, and Alex Smith’s as well, for that matter.
8. Seattle Seahawks (0-1)
– Last Week: 2
The Seahawks lost on Sunday, but the big takeaway from that game is their defense looked like the dominant defense of old that led the team to back-to-back Super Bowls.
It’s crazy to think a defense as good as theirs just added Sheldon Richardson. The O-Line continues to be an issue however.
9. Denver Broncos (1-0)
– Last Week: 11
We know what the Broncos are – they’re loaded at every position and need better quarterback play. On Monday night, they got a pretty strong performance from Trevor Siemian, who threw three touchdown passes.
10. Detroit Lions (1-0)
– Last Week: 16
The fourth quarter of football games officially belongs to Matthew Stafford. It’s his. No one can take it away from him.
In today’s pass-heavy game, it certainly means something to be the team that’s never out of a game.
