Vegas has come out with each team’s odds that are left to win the Cup – The number 1 seed has been eliminated and now there’s a new favorite on the list. Is there value in Pittsburgh?
Let’s take a look at all 4 teams left and analyze their chances of hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup in a couple of month’s time.
Pittsburgh Penguins 2016 Stanley Cup Futures Odds 3/2
The Pittsburgh have dominated the NHL Playoffs thus far.
They took care of the Rangers with rather ease and then followed that up with a hard fought series against the Caps where they never really lost control.

This Penguins team is about as deep as you can get. Their third line of Carl Hagelin, Nick Bonino and Phil Kessel were about as dominant as can be against Washington. The trio combined for 18 points and each had a pair of goals in the series.
The Penguins are listed as favorites for taking out the favorites and they still hold solid value at 3/2. They have a clear cut advantage against the Lightning and right now this is their Cup to lose.
St. Louis Blues 2016 Stanley Cup Futures Odds 2/1
The Blues had their backs against the wall many times in their series with division rival Dallas.
After stealing Game 5 to go up 3-2, they sent the series back to St. Louis with a chance to clinch it. They dug themselves a giant hole they couldn’t get out of and the series went back to Dallas. There was even talk of Brian Elliot, who has been stellar at times during this postseason, of being benched in Game 7.
However, Elliot got the nod and the Blues netminder dominated in Game 7 as the Blues routed the Stars 6-1.
St. Louis has shown they have the ability to win anywhere. They can steal a game on the road at any point, which is a huge advantage for them.
They’ll be in for a tough series with the Sharks, but this team has the offense that can explode at any point and score in bunches to get back into games or put games away.
San Jose Sharks 2016 Stanley Cup Futures Odds 15/4
The Sharks were the best road team in the NHL during the 2015-2016 regular season.
However, they needed to win at home in their last round against the Predators to get the job done. They had one of those rare series’ where the home ice held par throughout, with the home team winning every game. Luckily for them, Game 7 as in San Jose and the Sharks had no slip up winning 5-0.

San Jose has a lot of weapons offensively than cause team fits. From Joe Pavalski to Brent Burns, this team can score at any given time.
They win games on the defensive end. They allowed 6 goals total in the 4 home games against the Predators. Holding home ice is crucial for them if their future holds any value.
Tampa Bay Lightning 2016 Stanley Cup Futures Odds 17/4
The Lightning hold the worst odds of the 4 teams remaining. However, they may have had the easiest time this postseason.
Tampa bay took care of both the Red Wings and Islanders in 5 games and have had a little extra time to rest. They’ll need to figure out how to slow down this hot Penguins offense here in the Conference Finals while also trying to figure out Pens goalie Matt Murray, who has been dominant this postseason.
[dfads params=’groups=235&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
The return of Steven Stamkos could happen this series, which would be a huge boost both offensively and defensively for this team.
