Let’s take a look in Ray Monohan’s Week 5 NFL Power Rankings.
1. Kansas City Chiefs (4-0)
– Last Week: 3
The only 4-0 team in the league, the Chiefs move to the top of the rankings – and that’s a tough pill to swallow. This is a team we still know hasn’t been able to win when it really counts.
The defense has remained solid without Eric Berry, and Kareem Hunt has added a new dimension to the running game. The Chiefs are in great shape to pick up the top spot in the AFC and earn home field throughout the postseason.
2. New England (2-2)
– Last Week: 1
Carolina really did seem to just want last week’s game more than the Patriots did. It looked like we had another miraculous Tom Brady comeback in the works before that was snatched away by a last-second field goal.

The Patriot offense has been on point, but the defense hasn’t been able to keep up, ranking as one of the least efficient in the NFL. But it’s just a matter of time before that gets sorted out and they win their games in bunches again.
3. Green Bay Pakcers (3-1)
– Last Week: 5
The Packers needed a division game to flex their muscles, and we saw them flex on the Bears in prime time on Thursday night. The injury to Davante Adams certainly hurts, but a bigger role for Randall Cobb isn’t the worst thing.
4. Detroit Lions (3-1)
– Last Week: 6
The Lions could, and probably should, be 4-0. And they’re not doing it the way many would’ve expected, as they’re continuing to play the kind of ball control offense that’s been so successful for them as we saw a year ago, winning games on the back of its defense.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1)
– Last Week: 7
The Steelers’ offense still doesn’t travel well, but a 2-1 road start is nothing to sneeze at. And for all the talk of their offense’s struggles, they’ve put up 90 points in four games.

And best of all for Steelers fans, it certainly feels like this team has another gear they’ve yet to find. Not to mention the strong play of their defense to this point.
6. Denver Broncos (3-1)
– Last Week: 9
The Broncos absolutely smothered a very good Raiders offense at Mile High this past weekend. That’s a big win inside the division to say the least. And Trevor Siemian looks like he’s really figured things out in that offense.
7. Dallas Cowboys (2-2)
– Last Week: 4
A loss to the Rams at home certainly hurts, but the offense continues to develop on a weekly basis. The flaws on defense will be there for years to come as that side of the ball just doesn’t have the talent to compete on an elite level.
8. Atlanta Falcons (3-1)
– Last Week: 2
It needs to be pointed out that the Falcons could very easily be 1-3 right now, and they’ll have to play their next game or two with their top two receivers banged up at the very least. There’s a lot right about the Falcons, but their flaws have really been exposed in the early part of the season.
9. Seattle Seahawks (2-2)
– Last Week: 11
We got a glimpse into what it is we always expect from the Seahawks in the second half of Sunday Night Football. But for the first 40 minutes of that matchup they played a Colts team without Andrew Luck to a draw, and now they’re without their only rusher who’s been effective this season.
10. Oakland Raiders (2-2)
– Last Week: 8
Raiders fans across the globe were on the edge of their seats when Derek Carr went down. His injury will keep him out several weeks, which mean the keys to the offense will be handed over to EJ Manuel, which is not an exciting prospect for anyone in Raider Nation.
