Let’s take a look in Ray Monohan’s Week 4 NFL Power Rankings.
1. New England Patriots (2-1)
– Last Week: 1
There are chinks in the armor, there’s no doubt about that. But there’s also no other team in the league that bettors can consistently expect to win on a weekly basis.
The flaws are certainly there, and we’re seeing them in the early going, but the Patriots continue to find ways to win.
Under Bill Belichick, the Patriots only get stronger as the season progresses, so as the coaching staff figures out how to best utilize each player on the roster, the Patriots are only going to get scarier for opponents as they become more effective.
2. Atlanta Falcons (3-0)
– Last Week: 4
The Falcons are one of only two 3-0 teams through three weeks, but they could just as easily be 1-2.
But catching breaks like Atlanta has is often the difference between being one of the top teams in the standings and one in the middle of the pack.

The offense was supposed to take a step back with Kyle Shanahan gone, but instead, the Falcons continue to find a variety of different ways to beat opponents.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
– Last Week: 5
The other 3-0 team, the Chiefs’ offense has been more explosive than advertised as rookie running back Kareem Hunt continues to establish himself as the clear frontrunner for offensive rookie of the year honors.
They need to find more ways to get Travis Kelce involved, but right now, it’s difficult to find flaws in the Chiefs’ game.
4. Dallas Cowboys (2-1)
– Last Week: 8
An impressive win for the Cowboys on Monday night, with their star players playing like star players. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dez Bryant have this team positioned to be one of the elite teams in the NFC for years to come.
5. Green Bay Packers (2-1)
– Last Week: 9
The Cincinnati Bengals by all accounts should’ve won that game at Lambeau, but once in a while, Aaron Rodgers does things only he can do and bails the Packers out.

There are definitely some issues that they have to work out, but having the best quarterback in the game is a nice safety blanket to fall back on.
6. Detroit Lions (2-1)
– Last Week: 7
The Lions could and probably should be 3-0. They’ve been solid on both sides of the ball and will be one of the forces in the NFC for the remainder of the season. If only they knew how to build a margin.
7. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
– Last Week: 2
The Steelers just put out a stinker like they did in Chicago once in a while when they’re on the road. What Ben Roethlisberger calls out at the line, and the pace at which they play on offense is so important to what they do and that just hasn’t been travelling well.
8. Oakland Raiders (2-1)
– Last Week: 3
Another team that was bound to put up a stinker at some point, the Raiders looked lost in Washington. They’re going to be very reliant on their offense the rest of the way and can’t have that unit fail to show up in prime time games like they did on Sunday.
9. Denver Broncos (2-1)
– Last Week: 6
The Broncos likely would have won that game in Buffalo on Sunday if not for a silly personal foul call late in that game. They’ll look to bounce back this weekend in a big divisional game against the Raiders before their bye.
10. Tennessee Titans (2-1)
– Last Week: 15
As the NFL shifts to the most pass-happy state it’s ever been in, the Titans and Mike Mularkey are bucking that trend with one of the most run-first offenses we’ve seen in recent years.
And the development of Marcus Mariota has been a very underreported story as the Oregon product has really matured into a very serviceable NFL quarterback.
They definitely need to add a few pieces before they can join the conversation with the elite teams in the AFC, but the Titans’ rebuild is certainly heading in the right direction. They might be just a year or two away from competing.
