Event: UFC 230: Cormier vs. Lewis

Time: 10 PM ET

Broadcast: PPV, Fox Sports 1, UFC Fight Pass
Main Card (10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Pay-Per-View)
Daniel Cormier (-700) vs. Derrick Lewis (+500))
Daniel Cormier and Derrick Lewis face off for the heavyweight belt on Saturday night and the odds in this bout are not close, and they probably won’t get closer leading into the fight.
Derrick Lewis comes into this fight with a 21-5 record and had one of his most impressive fights of his career at UFC 229 against Alexander Volkov.
He was hurt bad the entire fight but made a late charge and was able to knock Volkov out.

On the other side of this fight is Daniel Cormier who is one of the best fighters ever in the UFC and is currently holding two belts.
Cormier is a natural wrestler but has also beat guys on his feet and is the heavy favorite in this one, and for really good reason.
He is the better fighter than Lewis and if he is smart he will try and wear Lewis down. After his fight at 229 Lewis said he wasn’t in good enough condition to go five rounds and I think that will hurt him here.
This fight won’t even be close. I think it will take a few round but I will take Cormier by knockout.
MMA Betting Pick: Cormier -700
Weidman (-185) vs. Souza (+160)
Chris Weidman going up against Ronaldo Souza is one of the best fights on this card and really should give the fans quite a show.
This is a matchup between two older guys in the middleweight division but they are both some of the best grapplers too.
If Weidman wants to win this he needs to get this on the ground, but I don’t think he will be able too. Souza might be older but his body has taken less of a punishment.
I think it will be close, but I have to give the lean to the underdog.
MMA Betting Pick: Souza +160
Branch (-470), Cannonier (+375)
This is another fight in the middleweight division who has David Branch being a big favorite over Jared Cannoier and I think that is exactly how it will play out.
Branch is the better striker and if he decides to take it to the ground he is a much better wrestler. This fight will probably go the distance, but Branch should have no issue sweeping the scorecards.
I know -470 is some hefty odds but there is no way that Cannoier can win this fight.
MMA Betting Pick: Branch -470
