With all of that in mind who should we be keeping an extra eye on this week? Let’s break it down.
2018 The Valspar Championship Favorites:
Jordan Speith +850
Jordan Speith comes into this tournament as the favorite, but he really hasn’t done anything as of late, or at this course to show he deserves to be the favorite.
In his last six starts, he doesn’t have above a ninth-place finish and I don’t see anything different happening this week.
[dfads params=’groups=248&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
His iron play has struggled as of late, and at this course good Iron play is so important. He might win but at this price I am staying far, far away.
Rory McIlroy +1400
Another guy to stay far far away from is Rory McIlory who is really struggling coming into this tournament. His last three starts he has a cut, tied for 20th, and tied for 59th.
He has had a few bad holes each round that done him in. I really don’t see anyway he wins this, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he misses the cut.
2018 The Valspar Championship Contenders:
Tiger Woods +2500
This time looks different for Tiger Woods coming back from an injury. He hasn’t had a setback yet, and he finished 13th last week in the Honda Classic.
His play looks good and if can clean up the bogeys and double bogeys he should have success this weekend. He has to remember par’s are okay, and to sometimes accept that rather than try to make it all back in one shot.
I think he will have a huge weekend and I expect he will be competing on Sunday for the championship.
Byeong Hun An +4000
The guy you have never heard of who has a good chance to win is Byeong Han An. In his last three starts he has a t-6, t-23, t-5.
[dfads params=’groups=247&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
He has been striking the ball really well off the tee, and if he can keep the ball in play at a very tough course, I really like his chances.
2018 The Valspar Championship Sleeper (+5000 or higher):
Dominic Bozzelli +12500
This guy had his best ever finish last year at the Valspar Championship finishing tied for 3rd. He knows how to have success on this course.
At this price he is worth at lesat a little flier because the payout is so nice.
2018 Genesis Open Picks:
The guy I do really like is – Tiger Woods +2500 to have a nice tournament and end up on top on Sunday Afternoon.
He comes into this tournament hot and with a lot of confidence, and I would expect to see him leave the tournament with a little more cash in his pocket.
