2017 PGA RBC Heritage Prediction and Picks
Ready to bet this weeks on the 2017 PGA RBC Heritage Odds? The dust hasn’t quite settled on what was a scintillating Masters as we look ahead to this week’s RBC Heritage at Harbor Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Only eight of the top 30 players in the world will tee it up on this par 71, 7,099 yard layout (one of the shortest tacks on TOUR) but that doesn’t diminish the intrigue that this event always presents.

Ball striking and accuracy will be at a premium this week on Harbor Town’s narrow, difficult to hit fairways – small and tricky greens mean that strong iron play is also crucial.
The RBC Heritage is maybe best-known for wind as well – the successful will have to be able to navigate the inevitable winds along the way.
Simply put – those with strong course management skills will have the edge this week – knowing where to put ball and being able to land that second shot close will be an asset for sure.
So with that in mind, who should we keep an extra eye on this week? Let’s break it down.
2017 RBC Heritage Favorites:
Matt Kuchar +1400
Kuchar is unquestionably the favorite here based on his T4 and hole-in-one last 16 Sunday. His confidence level has to be sky-high.
Add in the fact that Kuch won this tournament in 2014 and has since recorded a solo fifth and T9 on this track and you get the idea! An impressive tee-to-green game, present form and track history have the lights shining on Kuchar this week for sure.
Brandt Snedeker +2000
Sneds has been a tad off the radar but there is no doubting his class.

He is one of the bigger names in the field and despite not being in tip-top form he can turn it on in an instant and become a factor really fast.
Russell Henley +2200
Streaky guy is in the midst of one of his good runs. He won the Shell Houston Open a couple of weeks ago and finished T11 last week at the Masters. That makes top 15 finishes in three of his last four starts.
He sits sixth on TOUR in strokes gained: putting and is 20th in GIR – a pretty darn good combination – if his putter stays HOT he will contend!
2017 RBC Heritage Contenders:
Branden Grace +2500
Defending champion hasn’t been great lately but is worth mention because he also finished T7 here in 2015. His scoring average is under 69 in his eight competitive rounds on this track meaning that is essential to have him on the list!
Kevin Kisner +2500
Has been solid this year and would love to turn that to spectacular on a track that seems to suit his game very well. He has six top 25s in eight starts this year and three top 10s including a T2 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and a solo 11th at the WGC-Mexico Championship.
He lost in a playoff here to Jim Furyk in 2015 and should be able to parlay his terrific ball-striking game into another good result this week.
Charley Hoffman +2800
Started last week on fire at the Masters but fell off dramatically over the weekend to finish T22 – a tournament he shot a 65 on Thursday!
He has finished inside the top 25 five times in his last seven starts with a pair of top 5s over that span including a T4 at the Genesis Open and a T2 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
He has three top 15 finishes in this tournament the last five years and would love nothing more than to avenge last week’s “meltdown at the Masters”.
Adam Hadwin +3000
Hadwin’s putter alone puts him on the radar this week. He has been terrific lately – a win at Copperhead, a sixth at Bay Hill and an OK T36 last week in his Masters debut.
Hadwin is becoming a weekly fixture in my previews – rightfully so!
Luke Donald +3300
One of the best short-game players in golf, Donald has done everything but win here. He has finished second on this track four times and also has a pair of third place finishes along the way – six top 5s in the last eight years here!
Although Donald may not be in top form he’s still 29th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained: around-the-green as well as eighth in strokes gained: putting – perfect for this track.
[dfads params=’groups=247&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Something has to give for Luke on this track and with a less-than-spectacular field teeing it up this may be his chance for that breakthrough.
Pat Perez +4000
Has been good all season long and enters this week having finished inside the top 20 in his last three starts including a T18 at the Masters. He has never missed a cut on this track and finished T6 in 2011.
Perez sits inside the top 20 in both strokes gained: around-the-green and strokes gained: putting which should definitely help Pat to keep his name in the conversation this week.
2017 RBC Heritage Sleepers (+5000 or higher):
William McGirt +5000
Was in the mix at the Masters for a while and ended up a respectable T22 in his debut on that track and now gets a crack at a course he has had some success on – two T9s in the last three years.
He is a fairways machine – 6th on TOUR in that category and he ranks 31st in GIR which is perfect for Harbor Town. Expect McGirt to parlay his good week at the Masters into something better this week.
Jason Kokrak +6600
One of the big bombers in the field has played this track very well the last few years entering on a T12-T18-T6 stretch the last three years. His scoring average is just north of 69.5 which makes him a very intriguing +6600
2017 RBC Heritage Picks:
I have to go with Matt Kuchar at +1400 this week – the price for the favorite is just too enticing. Kuch was terrific last week and has been solid this season.
Add in the fact that he has finished inside the top 10 the last three years here including a win and don’t hesitate to support Matt this week.
Another player coming off a pretty good Master – William McGirt at +5000 is my sleeper. He knows this course well and has played well here – some momentum from last week should at least help toward a quality finish this week.
