The Flames continued to struggle as they dropped their 3rd straight with a 5-2 loss to Edmonton.
Washington
The Capitals Captain Alexander Ovechkin will look to reach another milestone in his successful career on Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames.
Ovechkin needs just 1 point to reach 900, which would tie him for 103rd all time. Ovechkin has scored in all 3 games he’s played in.

Nicklas Backstrom showed his immediate impact in his return to the lineup as he notched a pair of assists and the game winning goal against Carolina. Backstrom continues to battle back from hip surgery he had this past off season.
G Braden Holtby brings in a 3-1 record with a GAA of just 2.04 and a SV% of .920. Overall, Holtby has made 92 saves through his first 4 games.
Washington ranks 7th in the NHL with 3.25 goals per game.’
Calgary
The Calgary Flames came into this season looking to build off one of their best seasons in quite some time. They not only made the postseason, but they also knocked off Vancouver in the first round.
Calgary’s season has not gone according to plan as they’ve stumbled out of the gate, starting the season with a 1-4 record. Calgary dropped to 0-3 at home with their 5-2 loss to Edmonton.

David Jones has been one of the few Flames’ players to show any fight recently as he tallied both goals for Calgary in their loss. Jones has 3 goals through the Flames first 5 games.
Calgary could be without two key pieces come Tuesday as Forwards Sam Bennett and Joe Colborne remain game time decisions. Bennett continues to battle an upper-body injury while Colborne has missed the entire season thus far with a broken thumb.
While there was no status update on Bennett, Colborne did practice 100% on Monday.
