With the Vegas Golden Knights one game away from the second round of the playoffs, the series shifts back to San Jose’s SAP Center on Thursday night.
Vegas Golden Knights
For the third straight game, Vegas put up at least five goals against San Jose and won. This is officially the Golden Knights’ series to lose and it certainly doesn’t look likely that they will. Vegas is clearly the better team here.
Max Pacioretty has been fantastic in this series, tallying four goals and six assists in the first four games. He’s been unstoppable and a huge reason why Vegas has a commanding lead in the first round. One more strong game from him and his team will move on to the next round.
Along with Pacioretty, Mark Stone has been a huge factor for Vegas’ success. He also has 10 points in this series — six goals and four assists. Actually, without those two, this could be a completely different series considering William Karlsson and Jon Marchessault haven’t been at their best.

Also huge in this series: Marc-Andre Fleury. The goaltender has a .920 save percentage and has given up just 10 goals (2.51 per game). He had 28 saves and didn’t give up a single goal on Tuesday.
San Jose Sharks
It’s all fallen apart for San Jose. The Sharks have given up 16 goals in the last three games and can’t seem to find a goaltender that can actually make saves consistently. Martin Jones gave up two goals on seven shots, while Aaron Dell gave up three goals on 20 shots in game four.
Meanwhile, the offense completely failed on Tuesday. The team got shut out and only had 28 shots on goal. Joe Pavelski didn’t have a single one of those shots, and he’s a huge contributor to this team’s success. Without him at his best, the Sharks won’t win on Thursday.

Evander Kane had a melt down in game four, and got ejected in the third period after a bad cross-check on Paul Stastny and a subsequent punch to Colin Miller. If the NHL’s recent suspensions of other players in these playoffs are any indication, Kane may not play again in this series. That’s something to watch for, considering he’s been a strong player this series, contributing a goal and two assists.

Free Vegas Golden Knights vs. San Jose Sharks NHL Prediction:
San Jose simply can’t stop the Vegas offense and the Golden Knights will end this series in game five. It’ll be a closer game than the last one, but Vegas will end it on the road.
4* Free NHL Playoff Betting Pick: OVER 6
Game four went under, but that’s because the San Jose offense couldn’t produce a single goal. Vegas put up five for the third straight game and, while I think SJ will have a bit better defense at home with their backs against the wall, the Golden Knights will still produce. Bet the over once again.
