The Nashville Predators look to extend their winning streak to five games as they host the St. Louis Blues, a team that’s had their number all season long.

St. Louis
The Blues slumped into the All-Star break with two bad losses, but they’re still 4th in the Western Conference heading into this matchup. Led by Vladimir Tarasenko and Alexander Steen, the Blues remain a legitimate contender in the West, mostly because of their solid defense.
The Blues are 9th in goals allowed and 3rd in penalty kill. The same can’t be said for the offense however, as they rank just 22nd in goals per game and 23rd in shooting percentage.

St. Louis has owned Nashville this season, winning all three contests and holding the Predators to just four combined goals in those games. Though Jake Allen was in net for all three of those games, Brian Elliott has been nearly as solid as the two have shared goaltending duties this season.
Elliott comes in with a record of 10-6-5, a GAA of 2.23 and a save percentage of .927. He’ll be the starter until Allen is able to return from the knee injury he suffered three weeks ago.
Nashville
The Nashville Predators won four in a row before heading into the All-Star game they hosted, though they’ll have a tough time extending that winning streak against their nemesis.
Nashville hasn’t been anything to write home about offensively or defensively this year, and goaltender Pekka Rinne went from invincible at home to average at best.
The Predators aren’t scoring many goals at all this year, though their defense has bailed them out at times.
The Predators are 2nd in shots on goal allowed, though Rinne still continues to struggle. With a record of 19-15-7, a GAA of 2.47 and a save percentage barely above .900, Rinne isn’t even close to the goalie he was last year.
His performance has hurt the team, but the offense hasn’t helped him out much either.
Nashville’s two leading scorers are defensemen Roman Josi and Shea Webber. It’s hard to win when two defensemen are leading your team in scoring.

Free NHL Hockey Prediction
The Predators come in with a four-game winning streak, but they’re going to have to take on a team that’s dominated them this season. St. Louis has had no problem beating Nashville, and I see that continuing as the Predators try to cure their All-Star hangover.
