The St. Louis Blues and Arizona Coyotes meet for the second time in three days. On Monday night, the Blues handed Arizona its 40th regulation loss in a 4-1 effort in St. Louis.
This time, in Arizona, the Coyotes will look to exact a little revenge and grab a win over the Blues.
St. Louis Blues
At 17-7-1 under Mike Yeo, this St. Louis Blues team is looking tough and should be taken extremely seriously once the Western Conference playoffs get started. The Blues are playing great all-around hockey under the new head coach and have won 10 of the last 12 games.
The Blues have given up just eight total goals in the last five games and have figured out the defense, something that hasn’t always looked good for the team this season. Its recent stretch has shown that the team can play both ends of the ice and the Blues rank 11th in the league in goals against.

Offensively, the Blues have gotten better as well. St. Louis ranks 13th in the NHL in goals, scoring 211 total this season. Led by Vladimir Tarasenko, the Blues offense has been brilliant at times. Tarasenko has 35 goals and 33 assists this year, including a goal and four assists in his last five games.
The Blues have eight other players besides Tarasenko with at least 10 goals, including Jaden Schwartz and Paul Stastny, who each have 18.
Arizona Coyotes
Tanking, at this point, is the name of the game for the Arizona Coyotes in the team’s quest for #1 overall draft pick Nolan Patrick in June’s NHL Entry Draft.
The Coyotes have almost no scorers left after trading away Martin Hanzal and the team is just limping through these last few games.
The Coyotes rank 26th in the NHL in goals scored, scoring just 181 total goals this season. The defense hasn’t been any better, ranking second to last in the league, giving up 3.21 goals per night.

The only forward generating good offense at this point is Radim Vrbata. Vrbata has been Arizona’s most consistent point getter this season, posting 18 goals and 35 assists in 76 games this season. He has a goal and an assist in his last five.
Right wing Tobias Reider has also played some decent hockey for Arizona. He has 16 goals and 18 assists, including a goal in his last five games.
NHL Betting Trends:
- St. Louis is 5-1 SU in the last six games
- The UNDER is 5-1-0 in Arizona’s last six games
Free St. Louis Blues vs. Arizona Coyotes NHL Hockey Prediction:
Arizona’s season is all but over and you should expect the Coyotes to play for the number one pick in this year’s draft. St. Louis should get the W in this one and continue on its recent stretch of great team play.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: St. Louis ATS
St. Louis has been playing some solid hockey under Mike Yeo and seems to have found its chemistry heading into the playoffs. Against a very poor Arizona offense, the Blues should have little trouble covering the spread in this one.
