There has been some tension between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks going back to the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals.
The Blackhawks ended up winning the Cup hat year and have been on a significant role every since.
This will be the only trip of the season to Chicago for the Flyers and could be just the opportunity they need to get their season on track.
Philadelphia hasn’t been able to get a whole lot going as of yet this season.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers are yet to play a game on their home ice this season and will finally get the opportunity against Anaheim on Thursday.
Before they have time to focus on winning at home, the Flyers will need to find a way to come up with a win in Chicago against the Blackhawks.
Philadelphia started the season with a 4-2 win in Los Angeles and the lost 4-3 in overtime against the Coyotes Saturday night.

The Flyers were not only 0-4 on power play opportunities, they also allowed Arizona to put the puck in the net while they were a man down.
Tuesday against the Blackhawks will be the last game before the much needed return of Brayden Schenn who had 26 goals and 33 assists last season.
Philadelphia uses a two goalie rotation and Michal Neuvirth should be in line to be between the pipes in Chicago on Tuesday.
Chicago Blackhawks
The Chicago Blackhawks gave up twice as many goals as they were able to score throughout their first two games of the season with Corey Crawford in the net, but made the switch to Scott Darling and were able to come away with the win against the Nashville Predators.
Although Darling did make 33 saves in the game, we also received a lot of help with a hat trick from Richard Panik.

After committing a total of 14 penalties throughout their first two games, the Blackhawks were able to tighten up and limit them to just two in their win against Nashville.
They did allow another goal on a penalty kill, putting their total for the season at seven.
Last year’s Calder Trophy winner Artemi Panarin has yet to light up the lantern this season, but will more than likely have a few opportunities to put the puck in the net against the Flyers.
NHL Hockey Handicapping Trends
- Chicago is 13-6 in their last 19 against the Eastern Conference.
- Philadelphia is 3-9 in their previous 12 on two days rest.
Free Philadelphia Flyers vs. Chicago Blackhawks NHL Hockey Prediction
The Flyers were able to sweep the Blackhawks last season, including a 3-2 loss at the United Center in mid March. The Flyers aren’t the same team this season and find themselves coming into this as the underdog role.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Chicago Blackhawks -160
With Darling in the net, I like the Blackhawks chances on their home ice in this one. The under is 3-0-2 in the previous 5 games in this series and I don’t see the total going over 5.5 in this one.
NHL Free Score Prediction: Philadelphia 2, Chicago 3
