An important Atlantic Division matchup will see the Ottawa Senators head to Tampa, Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The Lightning, fresh off a big trade that saw goaltender Ben Bishop shipped off to Los Angeles in exchange for Kings goaltender Peter Budaj, will have a big question mark in net on Monday.
Ottawa Senators
On the injury front for Ottawa, it is unclear if Mark Stone will suit up for the Senators on Monday as he is still recovering from a neck injury. The right winger has been fantastic for Ottawa this season, putting up 22 goals and 25 assists. In his last five games, he had three goals and four assists.
Ottawa doesn’t have a lot of offensive firepower outside of Stone, which explains why the team is 20th in the NHL in goals scored. The Senators average just under 2.7 goals per game.

However, the defense has been wonderful and Ottawa ranks 6th in the league in goals against, giving up just 2.64 per game.
On offense, Kyle Turris has been an important piece for this team. He has 20 goals and 22 assists this season, including two goals and three assists over his last five games.
Also, left wing Mike Hoffman has been impressive this year. He has 19 goals and 20 assists, including one of each in his last five games.
Tampa Bay Lightning
After dealing starting goaltender Ben Bishop on Sunday before Wednesday’s trade deadline, the Tampa Bay Lightning have put that much more stock in Andrei Vasilevskiy, along with newly acquired Peter Budaj from Los Angeles.
Vasilevskiy, who should get the start in goal on Monday, is 11-13-5 on the year with a 2.81 goals against average. He’s lost his last five starts, including two in overtime. He has a .909 save percentage this season.
On the injury front, it looks like Jonathan Drouin will be back in the lineup after missing a game with the flu over the weekend. Drouin has been playing extremely impressive hockey recently. He has 17 goals and 19 assists on the year, including a goal and an assist over his last five games.

With Steven Stamkos still not ready to get back into the lineup, a lot of the offense has been put on the shoulders of Drouin and Nikita Kucherov. Kucherov has 23 goals and 31 assists, leading the team with 54 points, and has a pair of goals and three assists in his last five games.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Ottawa is 15-8 ATS in the last 23 games
- The UNDER is 3-1-1 in Tampa Bay’s last five games
Free Ottawa Senators vs. Tampa Bay Lightning NHL Hockey Prediction:
Vasilevskiy in goal doesn’t instill confidence in the Lightning right now. With Ottawa’s solid defense, it should shut down the Lightning offense. Ottawa will get the W on the road.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Ottawa ML
I like the Ottawa money line in this one. The team is the underdog for this matchup but going up against a goaltender who has lost his last five starts.
