Monday, April 22nd, brings you game six of this Western Conference Quarter Finals matchup between the Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars. Dallas brought Nashville to the brink of elimination in game five, and hope to finish off the job on their home ice, a place where Nashville has dominated them all season long. This will come down to which goaltender stands tallest for his perspective team.
Nashville Predators
For the second game in a row in this series, the Nashville Predators gave up five goals in a game to the Dallas Stars. That normally doesn’t bode too well for teams in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and I don’t think that Nashville is the exception. They did score three goals this game though, and actually held the lead in the game at one point, but they will need to play a whole lot better if they want their season to continue.

Though Pekka Rinne made more than four saves in game five, and looked downright unbeatable at one point in the first period, the fact of the matter is he’s got to be a lot better in game six than he has been in games four and five. In the last two games he has faced 34 shots, and he’s let 9 of those in for goals. Those are not numbers you want to be looking at for your number one goalie in the playoffs.
Dallas Stars
Dallas continued to look like the better of the two teams in game five with their shut down defense and their ability to create scoring chances from just about anywhere in the offensive zone. That second period just might be the dagger in the heart of the Predators, as the Stars will be ready to go in front of their home crowd.

The playoffs are all about hot goaltending, and Vezina Trophy finalist Ben Bishop has been huge in nearly every game this post season. Game five was no different. He faced 33 Nashville shots and turned away 30 of them. If he plays like he did in game four, this series will be over and the Stars will be moving on.

Free Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars NHL Prediction:
Pekka Rinne has one more chance to fix whatever ails him on Monday night, but I’m afraid that what Dallas started by stealing game one in Nashville, will finally come to fruition here on Monday in Dallas.
4* Free NHL Playoff Betting Pick: Dallas -1.5
Take the Stars to win this game at home on Monday and finish off this series in front of their hometown faithful. I just can’t put any faith in Rinne after his last two outings.
