Game three of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Quarterfinals comes to you live from American Airlines Center on Tax Day, Monday April 15th. It took overtime to do it, but the Nashville Predators evened up their series with the Dallas Stars on Saturday night, and hope to regain their home ice advantage with a win on the road in this one.
Nashville Predators
Craig Smith was the overtime hero on Saturday night, as he knotted this series up at a game apiece when he found the back of the net at the 5:00 minute mark of the overtime period. The win was huge for the Preds as they struggled in the regular season on the road with a 22-19 record away from the Bridgestone Arena, and now are faced with two straight in Dallas.

Pekka Rinne, who faced only 23 Dallas shots on Saturday, was huge in net for Nashville, he turned away 22 Stars opportunities in his 3+ periods of work. He will once again need to stand on his head on Monday, as the Stars are showing just how relentless they are in this series.
Injury Report: C Brian Boyle and RW Wayne Simmonds are both listed as “questionable” for Monday’s game, while C Rocco Grimaldi and RW Mikka Salomaki are both listed as “out” for Nashville.
Dallas Stars
Dallas was once again formidable on defense on Saturday night, making the Predators work for every shot all night long. After going up with a goal early in the second period by Jamie Benn, the Stars let their guard down by allowing Rocco Grimaldi to tie the game up at the 3:56 mark.

Ben Bishop had another nearly flawless game for the Stars on Saturday, turning away 40 of the 42 shots he faced. When a team throws that many shots your way, its hard to keep the net empty. Bishop will ultimately be the reason Dallas wins this series or not. He’s been a tough goalie to beat all year long, and he has kept that up through the first two games of this series as well.
Injury Report: C Martin Hanzal and Defensemen Marc Methot and Stephen Johns are all listed as “out” for Monday’s game.

Free Nashville Predators vs. Dallas Stars NHL Prediction:
Nashville stole that last game, even though they nearly double up on the Stars in the shot category. The Stanley Cup Playoffs always come down to goaltending, and Ben Bishop has shown us through two games that he has what it takes to take his team on a Cup run.
Take the Stars to win this game at home and really put the pressure on the Predators.
