Through two games of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals, the series is split, as the Montreal Canadiens won game two at home in an exciting 4-3 effort.
Game three heads to Madison Square Garden in New York, where the Rangers will look to take the next two games before heading back to Montreal.
Montreal Canadiens
Game two was a much better performance from the Montreal Canadiens on the offensive end. After being shut out in game one, the Canadiens got four goals, including the game winner in overtime from Alexander Radulov.
Jeff Petry, Paul Byron, and Tomas Plekanec lit the lamp on the other three occasions for Montreal.

Captain Max Pacioretty was generating a lot of offense for Montreal, getting seven shots off himself, but still has not found the back of the net. His play these next couple of games on the road will be crucial.
Carey Price had another great game, despite giving up three goals. He saved 35 of the 38 shots he faced, tallying a .921 save percentage.
New York Rangers
In no way can you put the game two loss on New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist. He was magnificent, stopping 54 of the 58 shots he faced. His .931 save percentage was as much as you could hope for as a Ranger fan.
If Lundqvist continues to play like that between the pipes, the Rangers have a great shot at winning the series.

Offensively, Michael Grabner put up his second goal of the playoffs. He’s been a spark for this offense, creating multiple chances for New York. Rick Nash and Mats Zuccarello scored their first goals of the playoffs.
If the Ranger forwards can continue to get into the offensive zone and limit the puck possession of Montreal, New York should be good in game three.
NHL Betting Trends:
- New York is 0-5 ATS in the last five games
- The UNDER is 5-2 in Montreal’s last seven games
Free New York Rangers vs. Montreal Canadiens Game 3 NHL Playoff Prediction:
Game two showed that this should be a very exciting series, one that could easily go seven games. I like New York to take game three in front of its home crowd, however.
4* Free NHL Game 3 Betting Pick: New York -130
Despite a game two loss, the offense looked encouraging for New York and the team should carry that momentum into its first game at home. I like the New York money line in this one.
