Winners of four out of five, the Minnesota Wild head to Winnipeg to take on the fellow Central Division Jets.
Winnipeg, coming off a bad 5-2 loss to Colorado, will look to bounce back at home and find a way to get at least a point against a fantastic Minnesota squad.
Minnesota Wild
After some early season struggles, the Wild have emerged as the most talented team in the Central Division and have surpassed the Blackhawks in the win column. This could be huge for the Wild as the team heads toward the playoffs and that home ice advantage could make all the difference.
But every game counts and Minnesota will look to take care of the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday. To do so, the Wild need to continue playing great team defense and limiting goal scorers like Patrik Laine.

Minnesota ranks 3rd in the NHL in goals against per game, allowing just 2.3 on average.
Goalie Devan Dubnyk has a lot to do with that low average as well. He’s been wonderful all season and was voted to the All-Star Game as a result. Dubnyk has a 28-9-3 record and a 1.99 goals against average. With him between the pipes, the Wild are a better team.
On offense, the Wild have some solid weapons that contribute to the team’s 3.3 goals per game average. The team has nine players that have more than 10 goals on the season, including left wing Jason Zucker. Zucker has 16 goals and 22 assists this season, including two goals and four assists in the last five games.
Winnipeg Jets
After a bad 5-2 loss to Colorado, the Jets really need to get back in the win column quickly. The team is struggling to stay afloat in the Central Division and a playoff push isn’t looking too likely at this point. Sitting 5th in the division, the Jets need points in pretty much every game in order to catch up to teams like the Blackhawks, Predators, and Blues.
Offensively, Winnipeg has been a pretty decent squad, averaging about 2.9 goals per game. A lot of that offensive success has been due to rookie Patrik Laine and center Mark Scheifele.

Laine has been a fantastic player in his first NHL year. He has 23 goals and 21 assists this year, including had two goals and four assists in his last five games. The team is simply better when he’s on the ice and he’ll need to stay on the ice in order for the Jets to have a shot at the playoffs.
Laine has missed some time due to a concussion and it’s been Mark Scheifele who has really stepped up. He leads the team with 25 goals and 28 assists. Over his last five games, Scheifele has four goals and three assists.

Free Minnesota Wild vs. Winnipeg Jets NHL Hockey Prediction:
I have a tough time believing that the Jets will be able to penetrate this Wild defense and score more than a goal or two. Minnesota’s offense has been spectacular recently and that trend should continue. I like the Wild to get the W on the road.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Minnesota -115
Minnesota is a sight to be seen on the ice, especially on the defensive end. It’s starting to look like this might be the year the team makes a push for the Stanley Cup.
NHL Free Score Prediction: Wild 5 – Winnipeg 2
Against a talented, but struggling Winnipeg team, I like the Wild money line here.
