Round one in the Central Division will likely be more focused on the heavyweight matchup between the Blues and Blackhawks, but believe you me, this series is going to provide a lot of entertainment value as well.
Dallas won the season series 4-1, with three of those wins coming in OT and four of the five games were settled by a one goal margin
Minnesota
The Wild are a team that you just do not want to see in the playoffs. They aren’t flashy, they don’t give you anything easy, and they can be extremely frustrating to play against.
They will need to be at their best to keep up with the high-flying Stars who scored more goals than anyone in the NHL this year.
Minnesota is not short on experience and skill, so don’t count them out as some boring, trapping team that will grind you into submission.
Zach Parise leads the charge on offence for this team but will be sidelined for at least games one and two with a back injury.

Captain Mikko Koivu and veteran Jason Pominville will have to pick up their game in the absence of the team’s most talented forward. Youngsters like Charlie Coyle, Nino Niederreiter, and Mikael Granlund provide a nice secondary scoring component.
Goaltending shouldn’t be a question as Devan Dubnyk was solid all season and isn’t over-worked with 66 starts to date.
Defense will be where this team has to lean though and Ryan Suter is going to have to log big minutes as he is surrounded by a pretty young group.
This is a big chance for the likes of Matt Dumba, Jonas Brodin and Jared Spurgeon to showcase themselves.
Dallas
The Wild aren’t the only team missing a dynamic forward due to injury as the Stars are likely to be without Tyler Seguin to open the series.
Coach Lindy Ruff has said that Seguin will be available but will be a game day decision. If Seguin plays and gets back to full speed quick, this team should be able to overwhelm the Wild based on the fact that they just have too much speed and strength and depth up front.
Look for the likes of Jason Spezza and Patrick Sharp to be big difference makers in this series as they are the two with the bulk of playoff experience on this relatively inexperienced team.
Seguin has some playoff experience and a Stanley Cup from his time with the Bruins but he was more of a passenger in their cup run, not the man the team looked to as a guy to lead the charge.

Goalie is a big question mark for this team. Antti Niemi has a Cup ring from his time in Chicago, but it’s looking like Ruff will go with Kari Lehtonen to start the series.
Ruff may employ a “ride the hot hand” motto this playoffs and flip flop his goalies depending on who is playing better.

Free Minnesota Wild vs. Dallas Stars NHL Hockey Prediction
A Dallas team that went scorching into the playoffs with an 8-2 record in their last 10 games of the season should be rested and raring to go as the number one seed in the West.
They’ll be fired up for this one after missing the playoffs last year.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Stars ML.
Minnesota will have to weather an early storm but I think Dallas will just be too much for them in this one and the Wild will be making adjustments by game two.
