The struggling Florida Panthers head to Xcel Energy Center to take on the Minnesota Wild who are on a four game win streak and 6-1-3 in their last 10 games.
The Panthers are coming off a 4-2 win over the Canucks, while Minnesota took care of business Sunday night against division rival St. Louis.
Florida Panthers
After posting a franchise record 103 points in 15-16, a lot was expected of the Panthers this year. However, unfortunate injuries and an unexpected head coach firing have led Florida to a mediocre 13-12-4 record.
The team is trying to find some kind of identity after firing Gerard Gallant and promoting Tom Rowe to interim head coach. The Panthers are just 2-3-3 since Rowe took over.

Injuries have marred the Panthers’ season from the start. Jonathan Huberdeau has been on the IR all year after suffering an Achilles tendon injury that required surgery. And now leading scorer Jonathan Marchessault has sat out four straight games with a lower-body injury and it’s unknown if he’ll play against the Wild.
Alex Petrovic and Denis Malgin are also on the injured list.
The Panthers will have a tough time against the top defense in the league on Tuesday night. Guys like Aleksander Barkov (6G, 14A) and Jaromir Jagr (6G, 9A) will have to generate the offense and find a way to score against the Wild.
Minnesota Wild
Coming off a 3-1 win on Sunday night, the Wild are on a four-game winning streak and are trying to gain some ground in the Central Division.
The defense has been a major reason for this streak. In the Wild’s last four games, the team has given up a total of six goals. There’s no wonder why the Wild lead the NHL in goals against (56).
However, the offense has had trouble pulling away in games. The Wild have played seven straight one-goal games and 19 one-goal games on the season.
Charlie Coyle leads the team in goals with nine while center Eric Staal sits atop the team in assists with 13.

No double digit goal scorers has been an issue for the Wild and it’ll be up to Coyle, Mikael Granlund, and Nino Niederreiter to generate the offense and put away the Panthers on Tuesday night.
The Wild have found ways to gut out wins in close games but the team will hope for an easier night at home against the struggling Panthers.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Florida is 5-7-4 on the road
- The UNDER is 3-0-2 in Minnesota’s last five games
Free Florida Panthers vs. Minnesota Wild NHL Hockey Prediction:
The Wild defense should stifle this lackluster Panthers team and prevent them from scoring goals. It will be up to the Wild forwards to put the puck past Roberto Luongo and take home a win. It may be another one-goal game, but the Wild should get the W.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Minnesota -150
This should be a relatively easy win for Minnesota, considering all of Florida’s recent struggles and injuries. I like Minnesota to win.
