An Eastern Conference clash is scheduled for Friday night as the Columbus Blue Jackets travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins.

The Penguins look to stay hot while the Blue Jackets hope to snap a two-game skid.
Columbus
Not much has gone right for the Blue Jackets this season, but they’ve been playing better under new head coach John Tortorella.
They’re still awful as a team, but a 4-6 record on the road is much better than their 0-6 mark at home. Scotty Hartnell leads the team with 12 points on the season, including 6 points in his last five games.
He’s been one of the lone bright spots on the team, and he’ll look to get some more points against the red-hot Pittsburgh Penguins.

Though Columbus is littered with myriad problems, goaltending seems to be the biggest one for the Blue Jackets. Sergei Bobrovsky ranks 40th in the NHL in both save percentage and goals against, and his 43 goals allowed leads the league.
As a team, Columbus has allowed 59 goals in 16 games. Those 59 goals allowed are the most in the Eastern Conference, and 10 more allowed than the team that’s allowed the second most in the conference, the Ottawa Senators.
Pittsburgh
The Penguins are one of the hottest teams in the NHL having won 10 of their last 12 games, including an exhilarating 4-3 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens Wednesday night.
Pittsburgh has scored 8 goals in their last two home games, and the goals are sure to come against the lowly Blue Jackets.

Phil Kessel is starting to find his way in Pittsburgh as he’s notched a point in four-consecutive games. His 11 points are second on the team behind Evgeni Malkin.
Jeff Zatkoff is expected to get the start in net for Pittsburgh in the first leg of a back-to-back. He has done well in his two starts this season by posting a record of 2-0 and a GAA of 1.97.
Marc-Andre Fleury was cut under his left eye during the game against Montreal, so we’ll see if the Penguins give him the night off against Columbus. It looks as if he is expected to sit.

Free NHL Hockey Prediction
The Blue Jackets can’t keep the puck out of the net, and the Penguins will take advantage of that often.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: OVER 5.5
The Blue Jackets defense has been atrocious this season, and Bobrovsky can’t stop a puck to save his life. Only the Calgary Flames have given up more goals than the Blue Jackets this season, and I look for Pittsburgh to attack Columbus early and often. The over is also 8-2 during the last 10 games of this series.
