On Saturday, the series between the Boston Bruins and Columbus Blue Jackets shifts back to Boston’s TD Garden for game five. After the Bruins dominated CBJ in game four, the team will ride that momentum and try to defend home ice to take a series lead.
Columbus Blue Jackets
Columbus just didn’t get the job done on Thursday night, despite recording 40 shots on goal. The team simply couldn’t make its potent offense generate any goals when it mattered most, and the team just disappeared in the second and third periods.
Artemi Panarin continued his strong series, scoring the only goal for Columbus and also tallied four shots on goal, but no other forward could light the lamp for the home side. Game five, the team will have to find ways to score on Tuukka Rask and the Bruins defense, because this Boston side is extremely good.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky still looked good, despite giving up four goals. CBJ allowed 46 shots on goal and there was only so much the man could do to stop that tough offense. Also, the team’s penalty kill must be better in game five, because two of Boston’s goals came with a man up.
Boston Bruins
Boston played a complete game on Thursday, scoring twice in the first period and then twice again in the third. The Bruins were so strong on both ends of the ice, capitalizing on two of their six powerplay opportunities.
Patrice Bergeron was phenomenal offensively, scoring twice on seven shots. He’s a huge factor for this Bruins team, so anytime he has a strong game, Boston has a good chance to win. He had help from the team’s usual top player, David Pastrnak, who added a goal of his own as well as an assist.

Outside of the offense, the Bruins got a lot of help from goaltender Tuukka Rask. He stopped 39 of 40 shots and didn’t relinquish a single goal after the first period. His .975 save percentage was his best of the series and was a huge reminder that, when he plays well, there’s almost no stopping this Boston squad.

Free Columbus Blue Jackets vs. Boston Bruins NHL Prediction:
Boston has the momentum after game four. The team proved that it can shut down the Blue Jackets, especially with Rask in goal. In game five under the home lights, Boston should get the win and take a 3-2 series lead.
4* Free NHL Playoff Betting Pick: UNDER 5.5
Even with four goals from Boston, the total still went under in game four. Just continue sticking with it, because every game in this series has stayed under the total. Game five should be no different.
