The Colorado Avalanche will make the trip up north Saturday when they take the ice against the Wild in St. Paul Minnesota.
The Avalanche will be looking to rebound after a 3-2 loss against the Dallas Stars while the Wild are coming off a 1-0 win over the Boston Bruins.
The Wild will be looking to defend the best goal differential in the Western Conference against a Colorado team that will be missing a few of their key players.
Colorado Avalanche
If the Colorado Avalanche has been anything this season it’s inconsistent.
They have yet to take a loss in overtime this year, but they have failed to win back-to-back games since the start of the season.
Saturday night will be the second of a three game road trip for Colorado that started off with a loss in Dallas against the Stars 3-2.
The Av’s were forced to play catch up the entire game after allowing Dallas to find the net three times in the first period.

Semyon Varlamov was in the net for the Avalanche and now has a record of 4-8-0. He has a 3.01 GAA on the season to go along with a .901 save percentage.
Colorado will come into Saturday’s game ranked 21st in the league with an average of 2.1 goals per game while giving up 2.8 goals a night to their opponents.
They have been able to convert on 16.4 percent of their power play opportunities while giving a gaol 20.9 percent of the time they have been skating a man down.
Minnesota Wild
Scoring has been kept to a minimum in the last two games in Minnesota after a 1-0 win against the Boston Bruins and a 1-0 loss to the Calgary Flames.
The lone goal for Minnesota on Thursday night came off the stick of Mikael Granlund with under a minute to play in regulation.
He has now been able to find the net for four goals and has dished out five assists in 16 games this year.

The Minnesota Wild have been the best the NHL has to offer when it comes to goals against, giving up an average of just 1,8 goals per game.
Devan Dubnyk has been a wall in the net and leads the league with four shutouts. He is now 7-5-1 with a GAA of 1.48 and a .952 save percentage.
He has only given up a total of nine goals throughout the previous nine games.
The Wild have also been outstanding when it comes to the penalty kill, only giving up a goal 12 percent of the time when skating a man down, currently good for fifth in the NHL.
NHL Hockey Handicapping Trends
- Colorado is 2-5 in their previous 7.
- Minnesota is 5-2 in their previous 7 games at home.
Free Colorado Avalanche vs. Minnesota Wild NHL Hockey Prediction
These two played not long ago on November 5 with the Avalanche coming out on top 1-0 at home. While I think the winner will be different on Saturday, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it is an identical score.
The Avalanche are dealing with a couple of key injuries that will keep them from being able to pick up the win on the road.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: UNDER 4.5
The Avalanche have only been able to score an average of 2.1 goals per game and going up against Dubnyk on his home ice is not exactly the place to get things turned around.
He has been a beast in the net through the previous nine games and I don’t see a reason to expect anything different on Saturday.
I like the Wild at home in a low scoring game, possibly the fifth shutout of the season for Dubnyk.
