The Blackhawks have looked sharp in their first three games, while the Flyers have been shaky.

Chicago comes into this matchup with one of the most disciplined groups in the NHL. The Flyers, on the other hand, have yet to find any sort of consistency.
Chicago
Even with the hectic offseason the Blackhawks had in dealing with the Patrick Kane fiasco, they’ve settled in nicely after three games. Chicago is fresh off a 4-1 win against the New York Islanders and will have four days of rest before taking on the Flyers who are hoping to have a better season than the one before.
Corey Crawford is expected to get the start between the pipes in this one. He enters the game with a 1-1 record and a GAA of 2.50 to go along with a solid .921 save percentage.
The Blackhawks are averaging about 34 shots per game so far, good enough for 4th-best in the NHL.
They also average the least amount of penalty minutes per game in the NHL which has led to fewer short-handed situations. Kane has also picked up right where he left off as his 6 points leads the league.

Philadelphia
After missing the postseason again in 2015, the Flyers were hoping to get off to a fast start this year. Unfortunately, the Flyers have ran into problems stopping the puck, and they will try to get back on the right track against the Blackhawks.
Philadelphia comes into this matchup with a goal differential of -6 in just three games. The Flyers are also the only NHL team to have scored fewer than 5 goals with at least 3 games played so far this season.
Philadelphia is having a tough time scoring and keeping the puck out of the net as the team has allowed 10 goals in those 3 games.
Goaltender Michal Neuvirth led the Flyers to a 1-0 shutout in their home opener against the Florida Panthers, so it will be interesting to see if he gets the start against the Blackhawks, or if coach Dave Hakstol decides to roll with Steve Mason between the pipes.
Mason has gotten off to a rough start this year with a GAA of 6.09 and a save percentage of .825. Will the Flyers stick with the hot goalie in Neuvirth, or will they go with Mason with the hopes that he has a better outing after a day off?

Free NHL Hockey Prediction
The Blackhawks have the edge in this one, especially if Steve Mason gets the start for Philadelphia. Michal Neuvirth had a solid outing against Florida, but let’s not forget that he’s pretty much been a backup his entire career.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Chicago ML
The Blackhawks tend to play well no matter what the environment is, and they should get the job done against the Flyers in this one. This is the first leg of a back-to-back for the Blackhawks, and I look for them to get plenty of shots on net against a team that’s allowing more than 3 goals per game.
