Coming off a 3-1 loss to Nashville, the Calgary Flames continue their road trip in St. Louis against the Blues on Saturday evening.
St. Louis, winners of seven of the last eight including a 4-1 win over the Canucks on Thursday, will look to continue its recent hot streak and grab another important win as the team heads closer to the Western Conference Playoffs.
Calgary Flames
With under 10 games to go, the Calgary Flames are in prime position for a playoff birth via the top Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.
The Flames have had a pretty decent year and have shown stretches of greatness over the last couple of months.
The Flames are decent on both offense and defense, averaging 2.76 goals per game while giving up 2.70 per game.
The goaltending has been solid as well. Starter Brian Elliot is 23-14-3 with a 2.50 goals against average.

Offensively, the Flames’ best skater has been Sean Monahan, who has 24 goals and 26 assists on the year. Over his last five games, he has two goals and two assists.
Matthew Tkachuk, the rookie coming off a two-game suspension for a boarding penalty, has been strong for Calgary. He has 13 goals and 33 assists in 68 games this season, including a goal and two assists over his last five games.
St. Louis Blues
St. Louis went through some growing pains when Mike Yeo took over after Ken Hitchcock was fired, but the team has been extremely strong recently and should be tough to handle in the playoffs.
Winners of eight of the last nine, the Blues have climbed back into the 3rd spot in the Central Division.
This has been due to consistent play on both sides of the ice, much like Calgary. The Blues rank 13th in the NHL in goals, averaging 2.81 per game, while giving up 2.68 per game – good for 12th in the league.

Center Patrik Berglund has played very well. He has 21 goals and 10 assists, including two goals and an assist over his last five games.

Free Calgary Flames vs. St. Louis Blues NHL Hockey Prediction:
It seems as though this St. Louis Blues team has found its identity under Coach Yeo and looks poised to be a tough out in the playoffs.
Against a Flames team that has had good stretches, but has faltered recently, I like the Blues to grab the W at home.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: OVER 5
I like this game to hit the over. I think St. Louis will continue its recent stretch of great offense and put up some goals here.
Calgary won’t go away without a fight and will score some goals as well.
