Coming off a loss to the Blackhawks, the Buffalo Sabres head to Colorado in search of a win against the struggling Colorado Avalanche.
The Avs, with three losses in the last three games, will look to get a much-needed win at home against a beatable Buffalo squad.
Buffalo Sabres
Buffalo, 4-2 in the last six games, have looked a bit better recently despite not being a great team in any aspect. The Sabres are one of the lowest scoring teams in the NHL, putting up just 147 goals in 60 games, and haven’t been much better defensively.
The Sabres have given up 168 goals on the year, giving up about 2.8 per game.

Left wing Evander Kane has been one of the best weapons for Buffalo this year. He has 21 goals and 11 assists on the season, including five goals and an assist in his last five games, including a two-goal effort against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jack Eichel has been wonderful since coming back from injury in late December. In his 39 games this year, he has 33 points including 13 goals. In his last five games, he doesn’t have a goal but has four assists and has been a major factor in the team’s offense.
Buffalo won’t get a lot of wins against top tier teams but, against a poor squad like Colorado, should be able to outmatch the team and get the win on the road.
Colorado Avalanche
With losses in eight of the last nine games, the end of the season can’t come quick enough for the Colorado Avalanche. The team has been extremely bad both on the road and at home. The Avs will be looking for some semblance of team chemistry at home against a beatable Buffalo team.
Very little has gone right for this team on offense or defense this year. The team ranks dead last in goals this season, with just 116 in 59 games. The team averages less than two goals per game, the only team in the league to averages less than two.
It hasn’t helped that Colorado also ranks 2nd to last in goals against this year, giving up 196, or about 3.32 per game. The team gives up almost a goal and a half more than it scores.

The Avalanche basically have just two skaters who can score proficiently. Matt Duchene has 16 goals and 20 assists this season, including a goal and two assists in the last five games.
And right wing Mikko Rantanen has 14 goals and 15 assists, including three goals in his last five.
NHL Betting Trends:
- The UNDER is 5-4-1 in Buffalo’s last 10 games
- Colorado is 2-5 SU in the last seven games at home
