Four losses in the last six games, Arizona is just looking to get through this season in a semi-respectable fashion and will look to grab a win over the Buffalo Sabres.
Buffalo, with four straight losses, has had a very disappointing year despite some solid offensive pieces and will look to beat a bad Coyotes squad on Thursday.
Arizona Coyotes
This is a lost season for Arizona and the team is basically playing for the ability to draft probable #1 overall pick Nolan Patrick this summer. Right now, the Coyotes are just limping through and I wouldn’t expect many wins from them the rest of the way.
This Arizona team doesn’t do much of anything right. The team is poor on offense and even worse on defense. And the impending trade deadline saw the team deal two of its best players in Martin Hanzal and Ryan White, who are already having positive impact on the Minnesota Wild.

The Coyotes rank 26th in goals scored (149) and 27th in goals against (200). That’s a minus-51 goal differential and explains a lot about the team’s poor record.
Center Tobias Rieder has become the team’s best goal-scorer after the departure of Hanzal. He has 13 goals and 12 assists, including two assists over his last five games.
Radim Vrbata will finish the season with Arizona despite the trade rumors. He has 15 goals and 32 assists this season, including four goals and three assists in his last five.
Buffalo Sabres
It’s been a disappointing year for the Buffalo Sabres, especially considering the talent that the team does have. The Sabres haven’t been good on either side of the ice, posting a minus-25 goal differential for the year. The team gives up a lot of goals (181) and scored much less (156).
The major offensive factor has been second-year center Jack Eichel. He has 14 goals and 23 assists in his 42 games this season. He has a goal and five assists over his last five games, posting at least a point in each of the five.

Kyle Okposo has been playing some solid hockey for the Sabres this season. He has 19 goals and 22 assists in his 62 games. Over the previous five games, he has a goal and two assists.
And Evander Kane has been the team’s top goal-scorer, posting 22 goals and 11 assists in his 51 games. He has three goals and an assist over his last five games.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Arizona is 13-4 ATS in the last 17 games
- Buffalo is 8-4 SU in the last 12 games at home
Free Arizona Coyotes vs. Buffalo Sabres NHL Hockey Prediction:
Buffalo should win this game. Despite not being a great team by any means, the Sabres have weapons and should let them loose against a very poor Arizona defense. Buffalo gets the W on the road.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Arizona ATS
Arizona keeps things close, despite being a pretty poor hockey team. The Sabres haven’t been great on either side of the ice and don’t score a lot. I like Arizona against the spread here.
