When Anaheim comes into St. Louis on Friday night they will be looking to improve their playoff seeding, but for St. Louis they will be looking to put some breathing room between them and the Kings for the last wildcard spot in the west.
Anaheim Ducks
This will be the second half of an away back-to-back set for the Ducks, as they will have been in Chicago the night before. Following the two game road stint, the Ducks will be back at home for 5 of their next 6 games.
The Ducks rebounded from a frustrating loss to Vancouver on Saturday by picking up a gritty comeback win over Nashville on Tuesday. Patrick Eaves, recently acquired from Dallas on deadline day, netted the winner in the shootout against the Preds.

Things are tight in the Pacific division right now. The Flames have been surging as of late and are now just 2pts back of Edmonton and Anaheim. Coming down the stretch it looks like those 3 teams will be vying for the 2 divisional seeds in the Pacific, while one team is going to have to settle for a wildcard.
The core guys on the Ducks, Kesler, Perry and Getzlaf, are all in their early 30s. For Perry and Getzlaf, who were on the Ducks 2007 Stanley Cup winning team, they know if they are to win another one it’ll need to be in the next couple years.
They want good seeding for the playoffs.
St. Louis Blues
It’s been a weird season for the Blues. After some uninspired play in January, the Blues fired longtime head coach Ken Hitchcock, although he planned to retire at the end of the year anyway.
After Mike Yeo, who was going to be promoted to head coach for next season regardless, took the reigns the team went on a hot streak, winning 7 of 8 games.

While they cooled down a little to close out February, they’ve won two straight and are showing signs of heating up again. They have the L.A Kings trailing them for the final Western Conference wild card by just 3 pts, so now would not be a time to fall out of form.
For the Blues to secure a final playoff spot they are going to need Vladimir Tarasenko to play well as the regular season heads to a finish.
Tarasenko netted one against Minnesota last game which ended a 5 game goalless drought for the 25 year old.
NHL Betting Trends:
- Ducks are 2-6 in last 8 road games
- Under is 8-3-4 in Anaheim last 15 road games
- St. Louis are 2-7 in their last 9 home games
- Ducks are 3-9 in the last 12 meetings in St. Louis
Free Anaheim Ducks vs. St. Louis Blues NHL Hockey Prediction:
This is going to be a tight game between two teams that want all the points they can get.
They aren’t jockeying with each other in the standings either, so expect some conservative play if the game is tied late in the 3rd.
4* Free NHL Betting Pick: Blues -133
With most else being equal here, I like the home team in a close one.
NHL Free Score Prediction: Ducks 2 – Blues 3
