NFL Week 1 has come and go as Week 2 is right around the corner as it will feature the Washington Redskins facing their former offensive coordinator Sean McVay with his Los Angeles Rams.
For the Redskins, they had one of the worst Week 1 performances as they lost 30-17 to the Eagles. Could this be because of the departure of key offensive starts in 2016 and McVay?

It did not take long at all for the youngest coach in NFL history to record his first win, and he did it with ease. The Los Angeles Rams blew out the Colts by the score of 46-9.
Washington Redskins
What happened to the Washington Redskins? The big question coming into the 2017 season was whether or not the departure of top wide receivers Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson were going to affect the Redskins offense.
If week 1 was a snapshot of the new Redskins, it might be a long season in Washington. Kirk Cousins was all over the place, over and under throwing receivers all morning. His poor decisions led to three turnovers in his name.
Cousins finished the night for 23-40 for 240 yards, one touchdown and an interception. With a poor passing game Cousins was unable to make a strong connection with new receiver Terrelle Pryor and 3rd-year wideout Jamison Crowder.
With a poor passing game, the running game was never able to launch out of the gate, as the Redskins leading rusher was quarterback Kirk Cousins. Running back Rob Kelley carried the ball ten times for thirty yards, as Cousins finished with thirty yards as well on four carries.

As for the defense, Washington gave up almost 400 total yards of offense as they could not stop 2nd-year quarterback Carson Wentz as he threw for almost 300 yards.
Could this be the new face of the Washington Redskins? Let’s see if they can somehow show off a new offense in front of their former offensive coordinator Sunday.
Los Angeles Rams
Last year, the Los Angeles Rams opened up their home opener with a 9-6 win against the Seattle Seahawks. There was zero offense on both ends as former head coach Jeff Fisher and offensive coordinator Rob Boras were all over the place.
However with finishing with a 4-12 record last year, it was time for a culture change as the Rams hired new HC Sean McVay, Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips and offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur to spice up this team.
This past Sunday, the Rams came into the game against the Colts as two point favorites as they finished the game with potentially covering a 36 point favorite spread. Los Angeles waited no time in showing off their new offense as they blew out the Colts 46-9.
Yes the Rams played against a Colts team without quarterback Andrew Luck, but this was the first sign of life for the Rams offense that fans have been waiting for.
Jared Goff finished the day going for 21-29 with 306 passing yards and a touchdown. Fan favorite and rookie receiver Cooper Kupp shined in his first game as he hauled in 76 yards on four receptions a long with a touchdown.
New additions Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods totaled 113 receiving yards together on 8 receptions. If the Rams offense can stay in this tune for the rest of the season, there is no doubt they will be a huge threat in the West.

O.K. the Rams offense was good, but what about the defense? The new Wade Phillips 3-4 defense helped the Rams hold the Colts to 9 points with turning turnovers into points.
Both Trumaine Johnson and LaMarcus Joyner recorded a pick-six to help towards the Rams blow out victory. Los Angeles also had four sacks.
Oh ya, the new defense did all of this WITHOUT Aaron Donald…
