The Kansas City Chiefs continue to find ways to win football games and after this 17-2 stretch in their last 19 games, it is time to stop wondering how the heck they’re doing it and instead, appreciate how impressive that stretch is over the course of two seasons despite all sorts of injuries to key players.

Their next opponent is the Bucs who led by James Winston are right in the mix in the NFC South with the Panthers season long disappointment and the recent falters of the Atlanta Falcons.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
While Winston has certainly showed some brilliance that many expected when he was drafted first overall by the Bucs, there are times where he still appears to lack good decision making skills.
He has already thrown 10 interceptions this season after throwing 15 all of last season.
However, in the Bucs 4 wins, Winston owns a 10 to 3 touchdown to interception ratio while having a 9 to 7 rate in their losses.

The way Winston takes care of the football is certainly having an impact on the result of Tampa Bay’s games.
This matchup against the Chiefs should be a challenging one for the 22 year old quarterback as the Chiefs are the best in the NFL at forcing turnovers.
The next key factor outside of how Winston protects the football is how well the Bucs can run the ball.
The Chiefs offense is methodical and efficient so they will likely wear down an already weak Tampa Bay defense.
So, it will come down to how well the Bucs can run the football to use up clock and protect their quarterback from forcing throws to pick up first downs.
The Bucs could see Jacquizz Rodgers return to the backfield to help this week after relying on a banged up Doug Martin and a young Peyton Barber last week.
The Tampa Bay running backs have been beaten up all season but will need to be highly effective in order to go on the road and knock off a red hot Chiefs team.
The Bucs are 8th in the NFL in takeaways with 15 but also have the 8th most giveaways so protecting that football will be key in capitalizing on any turnovers they may force.
Kansas City Chiefs
Despite all sorts of injuries in their backfield and on their defense, the Chiefs are still red hot. Having won 17 of 19 regular season games dating back to last season, Kansas City is at the top of the AFC West with Oakland and Denver.
The biggest reason for Kansas City’s success has been their ability to create turnovers. In their last 19 games, they have forced 45 turnovers and committed just 15.
While you may start to think that kind of success in the turnover margin could regress, this week likely won’t be the week as they face one of the more errant throwers in the NFL in Winston.
Leading the way again has been Marcus Peters who has 5 interceptions this season after leading the NFL last season with 8.
The Chiefs capitalize off of their turnovers too – leading the NFL with 4 defensive touchdowns on the season.

A spot where the Chiefs struggle is in converting third downs. They are 29th in the NFL – converting just 34.7 percent of their attempts. That won’t get easier against a Bucs defense that is the 4th best on third down – allowing just 34.8 percent of attempts to be converted.
The difference in this game – like most – will be who wins the turnover battle.
The Chiefs have a heavy advantage in that spot and the only thing that could keep the Bucs in the game is if they are able to limit the Chiefs offense to field goals by continuing to hold strong on 3rd down.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Tampa Bay is 4-7 ATS in their last 11 games following a SU win.
- Tampa Bay is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against AFC opponents.
- Under is 8-3 in Kansas City’s last 11 home games.
- Under is 7-3 in Kansas City’s last 10 games against NFC opponents.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 44.0
The methodical nature of the Chiefs and their lack of explosive offensive weapons always makes their under worth a look. I think for Tampa Bay to win this game they will need to slow the pace down so I like the game to stay under.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Kansas City 20 – Tampa Bay 19
The Bucs don’t have what it takes to win this game on the road but I expect them to keep it close. There’s no style points in the NFL and the Chiefs are a perfect example of that. They frequently win but it is rarely pretty.
