After their second loss to the season, the Cowboys will get another primetime game and will need to regroup to knock off a contending Tampa Bay team.

The Bucs are currently in a tie for first place in the NFC South and also hold the second of the wild card spots. But, they still are in playoff mode with any loss holding lots of potential damage.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Despite holding a negative point differential, the Bucs are 8-5 and control their own destiny for playoff spot.
But, controlling their own destiny means winning out and they are in the playoffs. Any losses and the Bucs will need some help.

Since dropping two straight at home to Atlanta and Oakland, the Bucs have rattled off five straight victories using their defense as the driving force.
During the five game winning streak, the Bucs have allowed 12.8 points per game including limiting the Saints and Seahawks to 11 and 5 points, respectively – both dangerous offenses.
That defense will be tested again this week against a Cowboys offense that up until two weeks ago was rolling. Those two games were to Minnesota and the Giants – two defenses both ranked in the top 7 in scoring.
So, there is a recipe for slowing down the Cowboys offense and expect the Bucs to be looking to the blueprint the Giants used to slow down Dak Prescott.
Ezekiel Elliott still averaged 90+ yards rushing in those two games but the Cowboys converted only 2 of 24 third down attempts.
Have teams found the answer to stopping the Cowboys?
The Bucs will look to be the third straight team to keep Dallas under 20 points after Dallas had scored more than 24 points in 10 straight games.
Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has finally looked like a rookie the last two weeks – getting hit with unexpected blitzes and coverages by Minnesota and the Giants.
While some Dallas fans have called for Tony Romo to return, the Cowboys staff has said they will be sticking with Prescott but you have to expect the rookie is starting to feel some pressure.
With the Cowboys already having clinched a playoff spot, he has some leeway over the rest of the season but after the 11-1 start the Cowboys got off to, they won’t want to settle for a wild card spot.
Clinching that top seed will go a long way in keeping Prescott and Elliott comfortable at home in the playoffs.
While the Cowboys have struggled a lot on third down, Elliott has remained effective.

Expect Dallas to try to break out big chunks on the ground with Elliott on early downs to make those third down attempts more manageable.
Tampa Bay has struggled some to stop the run so that should be doable for Elliott and the Cowboys great offensive line.
The Cowboys defense played easily their best game of the season last week despite losing so they will look to build off of that against a Tampa Bay offense that has turned the ball over 19 times this season.
Dallas’ pass rush looked dominant at times against the Giants and they forced two fumbles and an interception while missing out on a handful of other easy interceptions.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Under is 9-6-1 in Dallas’s last 16 games following a SU loss.
- Under is 8-6-1 in Tampa Bay’s last 15 games following a SU win.
- Tampa Bay is 9-5 ATS in their last 14 road games.
- 4 of the last 5 meetings between the two teams have gone under 46.0.
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 46.0
I don’t think we will see Dallas’s offense stall as much as it did on Sunday night but it will likely be conservative and try to maintain long drives.
Tampa’s offense has struggled some lately so Dallas should put together another nice performance.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Dallas 23 – Tampa Bay 17
We won’t see Romo this week but Prescott will likely be playing carefully to protect himself. Expect a big game from Elliott and the Dallas defense in a close one.
