Carson Palmer hasn’t looked like the same QB as a season ago, not since the tough playoff loss where he threw crucial interceptions that led to Arizona being eliminated.
The Sunday night primetime game kicks off at 5:30 PM PST in Arizona between the two division rivals with a storied recent history.
Russell Wilson will be under center for the Hawks, coming off a big-yet-controversial win in Week-6 against Atlanta where a clear pass interference at the end of the game was missed.
Seattle Seahawks
Russell Wilson is doing his best Russell Wilson impression, recording another excellent passer rating on the year at a 97.0 mark, which is actually lower than his career mark of 101.4.

Wilson has added just 35 yards on the ground, which is another huge part of his game as a dual-threat QB, but sprains to his MCL and ankle sprains have hobbled him and it’s very evident.
He is still set to start and even with two bad legs, he is the clear best option for Seattle.
Christine Michael will handle the majority of carries on the ground, even more so than normal as Wilson won’t be doing any designed runs due to the injuries.
Michael has earned 354 yards with 4 TDs in 2016 over 81 attempts, good for a 4.4 yards-per-carry average. He’s established himself as the lead back, and will likely share some more time once Thomas Rawls returns in a few weeks.

The Seahawks’ defense is their calling card, led by stars such as shutdown corner, Richard Sherman, safety Earl Thomas III, Bobby Wagner, Kam Chancellor and Michael Bennett.
Bennett sustained an injury a knee injury that looked significant, but early reports suggest he won’t miss much time, if any.
In the week-6 win, Sherman got away with a clear Pass Interference infraction on Julio Jones on the final play that could’ve easily altered the result.
Arizona Cardinals
Carson Palmer missed week-5 with a concussion, but returned to the field in week-6. However, even prior to the injury, Palmer just hasn’t looked like the QB we saw a season ago.
In 2015, Palmer recorded a 104.6 passer rating which was easily the best of his career, and first season reaching the triple-digit mark since his sophomore season in 2005.
This year, however, Palmer has an 84.1 rating and has thrown just 7 TDs compared to 5 INTs.
Larry Fitzgerald continue to climb up the record books, as he currently ranks 8th all-time in TDs with 103 and is just two back of tying the mark for 7th place.
Fitz leads the Cardinals in receiving yards with 361 on the year, along with 5 scores.
David Johnson is a premier runner in the game and has gained 457 yards on the ground and 5 TDs of his own, to lead the Cards’ offense.

Much like Seattle, Arizona has a very strong defense to hang their hat on. Elite corner, Patrick Peterson, is a feared player in the league built in much of the same mold of the aforementioned Richard Sherman.
Through week-5, Arizona has allowed 20.2 points per game, which has allowed them to record a +24 point differential.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Since Russell Wilson took over the starting role in Seattle in 2013, Seattle is 4-1 against Arizona and haven’t lost to the Cardinals since week-16 of 2013.
- Over the five matchups in this span, Seattle has outscored Arizona 134-54
- Seattle’s only loss this season came on the road
- Carson Palmer has a 101.7 passer rating at home as opposed to 36.0 on the road in 2016
- Seattle’s defense is tied for the 3rd for fewest points-per-game allowed at 15.6, Arizona ranks 6th at 17.3
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 43.5
Both of these teams have solid defenses and neither QB looks to be 100% at the moment.
I’ve mentioned Wilson’s immobility due to the injuries and Carson Palmer hasn’t looked go thus far and will face a difficult matchup despite being at home.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Seattle 17 – Arizona 23
It scares me a little to take the under because of how good David Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald have been so far this year, but Seattle’s defense can defend with the best of them.
Wilson doesn’t look right and also faces a good Arizona defense with exceptional corners, so the lack of Russell’s legs may come into play as the corners can sit back and anticipate the pass.
