The 49ers are still running Colin Kaepernick at QB, they are certainly a long way from their glory days under Jim Harbaugh. They enter week-15 with the second worst record in the entire league.
Kickoff is set for 1:05PM with Kaepernick facing off against the vaunted Atlanta offense, led by incumbent QB Matt Ryan for the home team.
San Francisco 49ers
Colin Kaepernick has regained the starting job in San Fran after starting the year firmly seated on the bench. Since taking over on October 16th, Kap has thrown for 1,577 yards and 11 TDs compared to 3 INT.

Kaepernick’s passer rating sits at 85.4 on the year, but he’s actual play has been better than the numbers may suggest.
This is in large part to the dearth of options he has around him, with the #1 wideout being the aging Torrey Smith or Jeremy Kerley, who leads the team with just 516 receiving yards.
Chip Kelly and the Niners will again lean heavily on the bello-cow back, Carlos Hyde. Hyde has gained 879 yards on the ground on 191 attempts this season, finding the endzone for six of San Fran’s 28 total TDs on the year.
He will be the primary source of offense for the 49ers, going up against a defense coming off a massive performance against another bad offense in the form of the LA Rams.

The 49ers defense sits dead last in the league in total yards allowed at 5,399, which is 239 more yards than the second worst team from Cleveland.
San Fran also sits dead last in average points per game allowed, giving up an average of 30.2 per contest.
Simply put, the strong offense from Atlanta should be able to walk all over them.
Atlanta Falcons
Matt Ryan is in the MVP talk this season, and could boost his case in this cushy matchup against the terrible 49ers.
Ryan enters the game having led his Falcons to an 8-5 record on the year, which is tied with the Tampa Bay Bucs for the top seed in the NFC South.
On the season, Ryan has amassed 4,050 passing yards, which is good for the second best mark in the NFL, behind just Drew Brees. He’s thrown for 30 TDs (tied for 2nd) against just 7 INTs, and has the 3rd best passer rating at 81.1.
Ryan’s top option, wideout Julio Jones, is currently dealing with turf toe and remains questionable for the game.
It may be wise for the Falcons to rest him considering this is about as easy of a matchup as they come, though the Falcons do need a win to continue their pursuit of the Division title.
Jones leads all receivers with 1,253 yards on the season, to go along with his five TDs, and would obviously be missed if he’s sidelined.

As mentioned, the Falcons’ defense is coming off of a huge game against LA, where they allowed just 14 points and will face arguably an even worse team in this game.
The Falcons will look to duplicate their performance against Goff, where they recorded two picks and two forced fumbles.
NFL Betting Trends:
- San Francisco is allowing both the most yards per game (415.3) and points per game (30.2)
- Colin Kaepernick ranks 25th in QBR on the year with a mark of 54.6
- San Fran has lost nine games straight and hasn’t scored over 25 points since week-2
- Matt Ryan sits second in passing yards at 4,050, while Julio Jones tops wide receivers with 1,253 receiving yards
- Atlanta is 3-3 at home, while the 49ers are 0-6 on the road
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Atlanta -14.0
This should be yet another blowout, with the Falcons playing in the comfort of the Georgia Dome against the league’s worst defense.
They crushed a top-10 defense from LA last week and there is no reason why they wouldn’t repeat that here.
NFL Free Score Prediction: San Francisco 17 – Atlanta 37
A lot does hinge on the availability of Julio Jones, as I’d feel much more comfortable of a higher point total knowing that he’s in the lineup.
However, Taylor Gabriel is an effective deep threat and veteran, Mohammad Sanu, is a solid secondary option.
Add in the dual threat backs in Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman for Matty Ice to target, this should be a bloodbath.
