There’s a twelve-win team in each conference hosting a Wild Card game this weekend. In the NFC, it’s the Chicago Bears, who won the North Division after four consecutive seasons in the last-place.

They’ll play the Eagles because they knocked Minnesota out of the playoffs on Sunday. Philly only needed nine wins to a shot to defend its title of Super Bowl Champions.
Philadelphia Eagles
Winning the Super Bowl is a big deal, something worth celebrating. So the Eagles showed up to this season hungover; nor were they the first to ever do it.
They woke up in time to win five of their last six and get back out on the dance floor, also known as the NFL Playoffs. They needed every win they could get, and a little help from their first-round opponent, who KO’ed the Vikings in Minnesota Week 17. The reigning Super Bowl Champions are your six-seed in the NFC.

And the reigning Super Bowl MVP is the starting quarterback again. Nick Foles quarterbacked the final three wins of the season in LA against the Rams, at home against the Texans and on the road a second time against the Redskins.
He had to throw a bunch in the first two starts. The Eagles haven’t had; nor will they have Jay Ajayi. The same is said for Corey Clement.
He didn’t have to throw as much in Week 17, though he did tie the record Phillip Rivers set earlier this season with twenty-five consecutive pass completions. He didn’t finish the game, though. Former Indiana Hoosier and sixth-round pick Nate Sudfeld did.
Foles took a shot to the ribcage for the second week in a row and left early in the fourth quarter. He said he’s OK and will play in Chicago but he’s a damaged piñata stepping into Chicago to play against what some have called the best defense in the NFL.
Chicago Bears
The Bears gave up the fewest points and the fewest first-downs in the NFL this season. They finished with five more takeaways than the team with the second-most in the entire league (Cleveland). And no team gave up fewer yards per play this season than the Bears, who were equally as good against the pass as they were against the run.
All-in-all, according to Pro-Football-Reference, the Bears’ defense contributed nearly 100 expected points to its team, which was more than three times as many as the next-closest (Baltimore). The numbers are staggering.

Chicago is healthy and won eleven of its last twelve games. Mitchell Trubisky completed more than seventy percent of his passes over the final three weeks of the regular season and that defense allowed forty-two points to the Rams, Packers, 49ers and Vikings in the last four. Yet some are calling the Eagles the hottest team in the NFL.
But neither Matt Nagy, nor Trubisky have been here before and it’s tough to get it right in the playoffs the first time.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 42
We’ll gush about Chicago’s defense all week but Philly pitched a shutout in Week 17. I’ll be surprised if either team moves the ball consistently well. My only concern is turnovers leading to points.
Put me down for a lean on Philly, too. The points look nice in a game that could be in the single-digits for a while.
