2015 Oakland Predictions
The Raiders were a miserable 3-13 in 2014 and were one of just two teams that failed to win a game away from home. It’s yet another “fresh start” for the Raiders who hired Jack Del Rio as their eighth head coach since 2004.

Trent Richardson was cut by the Raiders and running duties will be saddled upon Latavius Murray and Roy Helu Jr. Neither of which is a game breaker, but the Raiders have made some additions to their receiving core to help out the man they hope will be their franchise QB, Derek Carr.

Carr was not terrible last year in his rookie season, especially given the limited weapons at his disposal. The rookie pivot threw 21 TDs against 12 INTs.
About those added weapons, the Raiders went out and grabbed Michael Crabtree from Bay area rival San Francisco on a one year “show me” term. They also added Alabama standout receiver Amari Cooper to the mix so Carr will have some guys to aim at this year and the Raiders should at the very least earn some respect from opposing secondaries.

On defense there is another man in his “show me” year and that’s Justin Tuck who is in the final year of his contract. Tuck is getting long in the tooth by NFL standards at 32-years-old and he will be tasked with leading a group that is otherwise fairly young with rookie defensive end Mario Edwards and second year linebacker Khalil Mack as the anchors on the left side of this defense.
This team has won just 11 games in their last three seasons, but there finally seems to be a bit of a semblance of a team as they have a young core of talent at some key positions and this will be a year where management gets a chance to see if they have some real building blocks to move forward with.
Running back is still a major glaring weakness for this team but in other spots they have added depth and will be stronger throughout the lineup and won’t be as much of a pushover as they were a year ago.
Raiders Betting Outlook:
There’s not much to get excited about if you’re looking to bet on this team. They just play in too strong of a division where the Broncos, Chiefs and Chargers are just a calibre above where the Raiders are at right now.
Playing spoiler late in the year may be all that this team has to play for, but with some very young talent there’s lots to look forward to with this team as far as the development of the likes of Cooper, Mack and Carr.
Raiders 2015 Prediction:
Last in the AFC West looks like the destiny for this Raiders team once again, but five or six wins would be a step in the right direction. With road games against the Browns, Titans and Bears this year, they may be able to actually get a road win, and the Raiders were 3-5 at home last year.
[dfads params=’groups=223&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
A repeat performance at home or even a 4-4 record coupled with a few road wins and this team will have to feel pretty good about the direction they’re heading.
This team has pieces in the right spots to pull some upsets and they won’t be drafting in the top 5 next year, but another top 10 pick seems on the horizon and they’re one draft away from becoming a contender in the West again.
Prediction is 6-10 for this team, but still last in the West.
