The New Orleans Saints are coming off a tough Wild Card round home win against the Panthers, 31-26.
Minnesota had a bye week, and extra time to rest. Case Keenum should be well prepared to start the playoffs at quarterback for Minnesota.
New Orleans Saints
The New Orleans Saints almost gave the game away last week against the Panthers, but were able to pull it out in the end stop Newton from scoring on the last poession of the game.
The Saints were able to pull off the five point win, but looked a bit shaky in the first quarter. The Panthers, Kaelin Clay dropping a touchdown was huge for New Orleans.
Quarterback Drew Brees, looked like the Drew Brees of old, passing for 376 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He was also 23 of 33 on pass completions.
Aside from Drew Brees, wide receiver Michael Thomas made some huge plays late in the game. Thomas finished with eight catches for 131 yards on nine targets. Ted Ginn Jr. had 4 catches for 115 yards and an 80 touchdown catch.
This week, expect the Saints to get the run game involved more. New Orleans stud running back core only had 22 rushes for 41 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Saints came out flat last week against the Panthers. I understand this was their third time playing each other, but based on the eye test, Carolina had their offense rolling in New Orleans.
Had the Panthers not left all the points they did on the field, and not put them on the scoreboard, Carolina could have had the lead and kept it for the game.
This week, the Saints defense must take into account they faced the Vikings way back in week one, and were pushed around by an offense that was led by Sam Bradford. Bradford had 346 yards and three touchdowns Leading to the 10 point loss in Minnesota.
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings will open postseason play Sunday at home against the Saints. The Vikings beat the Saints in week one, 29-19.
Sam Bradford was the starter in week one and played well in the win. This week, Case Keenum is going to start for Minnesota. He took over for the injured Bradford, and never lost the starting job.
Keenum has been an MVP type of player this year for the Vikings. He has passed for 3547 yards, 22 touchdowns and 7 interceptions this season. His play has spoken for itself this year.
Keenum has also been blessed to have a playmakers like Adam Thielen and Stephon Diggs on the outside. Thielen has 1276 yards receiving this season.

Defensively, the Vikings have arguably the most talented defense in the NFL. The Vikings unit allowed 344 yards of total offense against New Orleans and held the Saints run game to 61 yards.
The Vikings defense will be well prepared to face the Saints, and should be happy with what they will find on this weeks tape of the Saints.
