I can’t believe that Thanksgiving is already here. Detroit is always on the card and usually that game is a dud but this one has some real juice as both of these teams are tied for first place in the NFC North.
Minnesota got up off the mat last week increasing the anticipation for this one.

Kick off is set for 12:30 PM ET so don’t lose track of it. Matthew Stafford is making a sneaky play on the MVP and this national game could really improve his candidacy.
Minnesota Vikings
Things would have been at DEFCON 1 in Minnesota had they not gotten the victory last week against Arizona. As it is they are still in first place, tied with Detroit as the hit the road on Turkey Day.
Some are lauding Sam Bradford for his efficient performance against the Cardinals but there is nothing exciting about 169 yards passing. The
Vikings had only one play all game long of more than 25 yards and you have to be able to hit some shots if you are going to win regularly.
Otherwise defenses crowd you too much.

The Vikings defense has been carrying the team and they were just OK against Arizona.
I like the fact that they picked off Carson Palmer twice but not that they gave up 135 yards on the ground and allowed the Cardinals to win the time of possession battle.
If they don’t get the biggest of big plays, a 100 yard interception return for a TD by Xavier Rhodes, they maybe don’t even win.
Minnesota is last in the league in yards on offense. Can they find something in a short week of preparation?
Detroit Lions
I feel like every week is one of survival for the Detroit Lions.
This is not a great team but they are overcoming injuries and getting wins. If they can get this one they will be in the driver’s seat in the NFC North, which is looking like just a two team race at this point.
Matthew Stafford continues to have his best season ever with a QB rating of 101.
The key is limiting turnovers. He was good enough to win when he led the Lions to a victory over the Vikings on the road in Week 9.
He should be even sharper at home. He has just one interception at home this season.

Statistically the Lions are pretty average on defense.
However, they may have the defensive Rookie of the Year in Kerry Hayder, a DE from Texas Tech who is leading the team with 7 sacks.
This is a classic bend but don’t break group. When they beat Minnesota in overtime at the beginning of the month they did not do anything special. They just outlasted them.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Detroit -2
A month ago this would have looked like an easy win for the Vikings but I have no confidence in their offense right now and Detroit has been playing well.
At home to take this one by just a field goal sounds like an easy proposition.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Detroit 27 – Minnesota 20
This is a big showcase game that has a lot riding on it.
It should be a great atmosphere in Detroit and that will help the home team alone. Normally Ford Field is pretty quiet but I think it will be an advantage in this one.
